Ya os hemos hablado más veces de lo mucho que nos gustan los champús sólidos de
Bubbly, que compramos en Zamora, aprovechando cuando venimos a pasar las vacaciones.
Hoy nos gustaría enseñaros la tienda. Nos gustaría darle las gracias a su propietaria, Chus, por permitirnos hacer unas cuantas fotos con las que ilustrar este post y dedicarnos unos minutos para hablar de su aventura empresarial. Lo cierto es que abrir un negocio en España es toda una aventura: papeleo interminable, encontrar financiación, pagar un montón de impuestos regularmente, encontrar un local donde establecerte, darte a conocer, etc.

We've raved before about how we love the solid shampoos from Bubbly/Bodyline, that we get from the store located in our hometown Zamora, everytime we come here to spend the holidays.
Today we'd like to give you a proper tour of the shop. First things first, we'd like to thank the owner, Chus, for kindly agreeing to our taking a few pictures of the place to illustrate this blog and spare a few minutes to tell us about her business venture. The truth is that opening your own business here in Spain is no easy feat: endless paperwork, finding the necessary funding, paying a small fortune in taxes on a regular basis, finding a proper venue, getting people to know your business and establish a clientele and the list goes on and on.
Chus hace ya cuatro años y medio que dio ese paso y un 22 de diciembre de 2007 abrió las puertas de su establecimiento, situado en la calle Alfonso III El Magno, muy cerca del Mercado de Abastos de Zamora. Como aficionada a los jabones, decidió que sería un negocio diferente, puesto que no existia ningún comercio similar en la ciudad.
Ya desde la calle, llama la atención lo colorido del escaparate y de los productos que ofrece. Casi no hace falta abrir la puerta para sentir el olor de los diferentes jabones, mascarillas y demás que allí podemos encontrar. Esa sobredosis olfativa puede ser demasiado para algunas personas: nuestra madre no puede pasar más de cinco minutos en el interior, porque se agobia.
Chus decided to take the plunge four and a half years ago and opened the doors of her store December 22nd, 2007. The shop, located in Alfonso III El Magno street, is in the surroundings of the farmers' market in Zamora. As a soap-lover herself, she knew there were no similar businesses in town.
From the street, the colourful shopwindows and the products on display will certainly attract your attention. You needn't even open the door to smell the scents of all the soaps, masks and different products wafting from the inside. This sensory overdose can be a little too empowering for some people: our own mother cannot spend more than five minutes inside the store.
Desde hace años, los productos naturales gozan de gran popularidad, hasta el punto de que Chus llegó a abrir una segunda tienda -muuy pequeñita- en la céntrica Calle San Torcuato, que cerró unos meses más tarde. Del mismo modo, varias de las tiendas que la franquicia inglesa Bubbly/Bodyline llegó a tener en España han ido cerrando a lo largo de los años: Madrid (C.C.Príncipe Pío), Jaén, Algeciras, etc. En la actualidad, sólo permanecen abiertas la tienda de Linares (Jaén) y ésta de Zamora.
Natural products have been all the rage for some years now, to the point that Chus even had a second -tiny- store in the more centrally located Calle San Torcuato that closed its doors a few months later. Several of the British franchise's Spanish stores unfortunately had the same ending: Madrid (Príncipe Pío Shopping Center), Jaén, Algeciras, etc. At the moment, the only stores still running are the ones in Linares (Jaén) and this one in Zamora.
La tienda de Linares es la que se encarga de gestionar la tienda virtual de Bubbly en España, pero la tienda de Zamora, como ya hemos comentado otras veces, también acepta pedidos.
The store located in Linares is the one responsible for the running of the Bubbly Spain's webshop, but you can also order your goodies from the store in Zamora.

Bueno, ya habéis visto cómo es la tienda. Supongo que lo que ahora queréis es conocer los productos de Bubbly que merecen la pena. Puesto que llevamos siendo clientas prácticamente desde que abrió la tienda, nos ha dado tiempo a probar bastantes de sus productos.
Well, now that you've seen what the shop looks like, I guess what you really want to read about are the products worth checking out. Since we've been regular customers almost from the moment the shop first opened, we've had plenty of time to try quite a few of the products available there.
PRODUCTOS IMPRESCINDIBLES / MUST-HAVE PRODUCTS:

- El Gran Suave: Lo incluímos en nuestro primer sorteo y creo que es el producto que más veces hemos comprado. Aunque en teoría no hace falta mascarilla, nosotras sí que la usamos.
- Big Softy: We included this in our first giveaway and is probably our most repurchased item. In theory, you needn't use a conditioner or mask afterwards, but we do.
- Arbol de Té (marox): Lo uso regularmente, para mantener a raya mis brotes de dermatitis/psoriasis en el cuero cabelludo. Me dejó alucinada la primera vez que lo usé, en pleno brote. Cuando tengo un brote muy fuerte, le añado a la abundante espuma del de Bubbly un chorrito del champú que me recomendó mi dermatólogo para que me alivie más. Al contrario que a otra gente, a mí la psoriasis del cuero cabelludo me pica, y mucho.
- Tea Tree (marox): I use this on a regular basis, to keep my dermatitis/scalp psoriasis breakouts at bay. When the breakout is a severe one, I add a trickle of the shampoo prescribed by my dermathologist for a stronger calming boost to the generous lather the Bubbly one forms. Unlike other people, in my case my scalp psoriasis breakouts are of the 'hell, this thing itches like mad' variety.
* También hemos probado el anticaída y una vez que no tenían El Gran Suave, el de pelo castaño. Tienen otro anticaspa (que apesta, por cierto), etc.
Truco: En la etiqueta pone que traen 90gr, pero hablando con Chus nos contó un detalle en el que nunca habíamos reparado y que le descubrió otra clienta: al pesarlos, traen una cantidad 'extra' a modo de propina. Pesó el que compró Marian en esta visita y pesó nada más y nada menos que... 120 gr. ¡Vamos, que nos están regalando 30gr. de champú! Al módico precio de 5,90€.
* We've also tried the hairloss one and once we got the one for brunettes because they had run out of Big Softy. There's an antidandruff (that smells gross, btw) one and others.
Tip: The bars are labelled and the declared weight is 90gr, but Chus shared a detail with us none of us knew about. She told us that another customer recently told her these are in fact bigger and give you a little 'extra' amount. To prove it, she randomly put the one Marian bought in this visit in the scale and it read no less than... 120gr. Meaning, you're getting another 30gr for free!! All this for just 5.90 EUR.
- Mascarillas / Mascarillas:
- Un millón de años: Esta mascarilla la incluímos en nuestro último sorteo. Nos encanta porque no es la típica mascarilla de arcilla que te deja la cara tirante y reseca mientras y después de aplicarla. Al contrario, la piel queda suave. Marox nota una sensación como de cosquilleo unos minutos cuando la lleva puesta, pero nada por lo que preocuparse.

Million Year Old Mud Mask: We included this in our latest giveaway. We love it because it's not the kind of clay mask that leaves your face all stiff and dry during and after application. Quite the contrary, your face is somehow soft. Marox does notice a slightly tingling feeling when she's using it, though nothing to worry about.
- Barritas de masaje / Massage bars:
- Bálsamo de tigre: Aunque no la usamos muy a menudo, la tenemos en el frigorífico y viene muy bien para aliviar dolores musculares y demás.
- Tiger balsam: Though we don't use this very often, we keep it in the fridge and is really good to treat sore muscles and things like that.
* Los jabones están muy bien, pero para utilizar de continuo para el cuerpo, salen caros. Hace años que no hemos probado ninguno, ya que siempre cargamos con alguno en las ferias, viajes y demás y no nos gusta acumular. Hemos probado el de limón y nuez varias veces, el de hielo blanco para la cara (marox), el de piña, el Mowgli (de plátano), el de regaliz, el de la zarzamora (marian) y seguro que unos cuantos más.
* The soaps are quite nice though they can be a bit expensive in the long run, especially if you intend to use them in your shower on a daily basis. It's been a couple of years since we last got any, because we always end up getting some at fairs or abroad and we don't want to have a big stock at home. We did try the lemon and nuts several times, the white ice (marox, as a face soap), the pineapple, Mowgli (banana), liquorice, blackberry (marian) soaps and probably a few others too.
