Aquí estamos con otra entrega de los productos que hemos terminado recientemente, y una breve opinión acerca de ellos.

Here we are with a new post to talk about the products we have used up recently, and a short review about them.

1- Lápiz de ojos retráctil de P2.
Sin duda, este es el mejor que he probado hasta la fecha. Y encima, no llegó a 2€, en las droguerías alemanas DM.
Pigmenta como ninguno en la línea de agua, es cremoso y se desliza fenomenal.
No creo que vuelva a tener uno así.
Si encuentro este producto en alguna tienda online que envíe a España, no descarto hacerme con otro. De momento usaré otros lápices que tengo olvidados, y también el eyeliner en gel de Alverde (ese que revivo con Mixing Solution de Kiko).

2- Exfoliante facial Dr. Brandt.
Os lo presenté *aquí*, y os diré que me ha encantado. Tanto que ya tengo otro de repuesto, que usaré alternándolo con el de Soap&Glory que compré en Dublín.

3- Manteca corporal de Bubbly "Flower Therapy Smoothie".
Huele genial, se aplica muy bien y cunde muchísimo. Creo que costaba 5€.
Tenemos otro de Bubbly en otro aroma que no hemos estrenado todavía. Iremos usando otros mientras tanto (tenemos todavía un montón).

4- Maquillaje mate de larga duración "Hydro Matt" en el tono "Light" de Basic (Schlecker).
Ni es mate ni es de larga duración (al menos para mí), así que mal empezamos.
Y para ser el tono más claro, a mí me iba oscurísimo, así que lo he estado utilizando junto a mi BB cream de Missha (sí, todavía la tengo, y la uso casi a diario)
que me quedaba demasiado clara (y más en verano).

5- Champú nutritivo al aceite de oliva "Cien" (Lidl).
No, no penséis que hemos abandonado nuestros champús sólidos. ¡Nunca!
Pero para ir a la piscina, por ejemplo, este otro tipo de productos viene muy bien.
Así que lo hemos estado utilizando sólo en esas ocasiones, y os diremos que es un champú normalito, pero por el precio que tiene, no está mal.

Bueno, hasta aquí esta entrega de nuestros productos terminados.

1- Retractable eye pencil from P2.
This is undoubtedly the best eyeliner pencil I've tried so far. It costs less than €2 and is sold at German drugstores DM.
Pigmentation is outstanding also on the waterline, it's creamy and glides on perfectly.
I don't think that I'll ever have another one like this.
If I ever find this item at an online store which ships to Spain, I wouldn't rule out buying a new one. Until then I'll be using some eye pencils I left unused, and also that gel eyeliner from Alverde (the one I use to bring back to life with Kiko's Mixing Solution).

2- Exfoliating face cream from Dr. Brandt.
I showed it to you *here*, and I must say that I love it. I like it so much that I bought a new one, which I'll be using together with the Soap&Glory one that I bought in Dublin. 

3- Body butter from Bubbly/Bodyline 'Flower Therapy Smoothie'.
It smells great, its application is fantastic and it spreads out really well and a little product goes a long way. I think this was €5.
We have another one from Bubbly with a different scent which we have not used yet. We'll be using other ones in the meantime (we still have a lot of unused ones). 

4- 'Hydro matt' long-lasting make-up from Basic (Schlecker), in the shade 'Light'.
Well, there are three lies here: it's not matt, it's not long-lasting, and its shade is not light.
This is a bad beginning.
To be the lightest shade, it was too dark for me, so I've been using it together with my BB cream from Missha (Yes, I still have my Vita Matt, and use it almost everyday), which is too light for me (and even lighter in summer).

5- Olive oil nourishing shampoo 'Cien' (Lidl).
No, don't think that we've left aside our beloved shampoo bars. Never!
But these kind of products are quite good to take them to the swimming pool, for example.
We've used it just for those occasions, and we'll tell you that it's a 'neither good nor bad' shampoo, but it's not that bad for the price.

Cracklings P2

Subflava dedicó recientemente una entrada a sus esmaltes de craquelado, así que en esta entrada os voy a enseñar con más detalle los míos, todos de la marca P2 y comprados en Berlín en el DM.

Hasta hace poco, la marca P2 disponía únicamente de dos esmaltes de craquelado, los crackling '010 Black Explosion ' y '020 Silver Blast' a los que desde marzo de 2011 se les ha unido el '030 Golden Rush'. Contienen 11 ml y cuestan 1,75 € por lo que la relación calidad/precio es inmejorable.

De momento sólo he usado el dorado y el plateado.

Subflava recently shared with us all her crackling topcoats so I thought I could perhaps show you mine in greater detail. All of them are from P2, one of DM's own brands and were part of our Berlin hauls.

Until recently, P2 only offered two different crackling topcoats in '010 Black Explosion' and '020 Silver Blast' the latest addition being '030 Golden Rush' released in March 2011. They contain 11ml, cost €1,75 and are therefore excellent value for money.

So far I've only used the silver and the golden one.

Este tipo de esmaltes me parecen una forma ideal de darle un nuevo aspecto a la manicura que ya tenemos en un par de minutos. Hay que aplicarlos sobre un esmalte bien seco y nada más hacerlo ya podemos comprobar como se va 'rompiendo' produciendo este acabado tan característico y tan de moda ahora mismo.

Secan en un tiempo récord y el acabado es mate, por lo que si eso no os convence siempre podéis poner una capa de topcoat brillante encima.

I think these crackles are a great way of giving your current mani a new look in just a few minutes. They must be applied over dry polish and right after the application this topcoat begins to 'break' thus creating this peculiar and trendy finish. They dry really fast and leave a matte finish, so if you're not too fond of this you can always top it all with one coat of shiny topcoat.

En las fotos apliqué varias capas del esmalte base de P2 'Base & Care Coat'. ¿Por qué varias capas? Pues porque impaciente de mí, estaba deseando hacer los chuaches en la rueda y no esperé el tiempo suficiente y se me ocurrió la “brillante idea” de plantarle el dedazo para ver si ya estaba seco. La paciencia es una virtud de la que, como véis, carezco.

In the pictures I applied several coats of the P2 'Base & Care Coat'. Why several, you're probably wondering. Well, the thing is I was so eager to make the swatches on the nailwheel that I didn't wait long enough for it to dry and had the 'brilliant idea' to put my finger on it to check. Patience is a virtue I lack of, you know.

Essence ha sacado en su última actualización dos tonos de crackling, en blanco y en negro. Subflava nos enseñaba en su post el blanco aunque reconozco que no me acaba de convencer. No sé si lo acabaré comprando o no...

Essence released two crackles in their latest range update, in black and white. Subflava included the white one in her post though I confess I have mixed feelings towards it. Don't know if I'll get it or not, the jury's still out on that one.

Si en mi anterior entrada acerca de mis compras de la marca P2 en Berlín os hablaba de un acierto, hoy toca chasco.
Mi lista de la compra para el viaje incluía bastantes cosas de esta marca, principalmente esmaltes. Sin embargo, tuve la mala suerte de ser uno de los productos que iban a ser sustituidos por otros, de modo que los esmaltes que indico más abajo, mucho me temo que ya nunca podré hacerme con ellos, ya que como digo, han sido discontinuados en marzo de 2011.

My last post about my P2 purchases in Berlin was about a 'Hit', unfortunately today's time for a 'Miss'. My wishlist for the trip was full of stuff from this brand, mainly nailpolishes. Unfortunately they were among the products being discontinued in March 2011 and had already been replaced by others from the new P2 range. Therefore, the polishes mentioned below I fear will never be part of my collection.

Baso mis palabras en la única vez que he usado este esmalte hasta la fecha. La fórmula me resultó excesivamente espesa, por lo que me costó un triunfo conseguir una cobertura uniforme en las uñas. Admito que las 11 de la noche después de una primera jornada agotadora en Berlín puede que no sea el mejor momento para una manicura, pero por si no fuera poco, el esmalte casi me cuesta un disgusto dentro de la maleta. ¡Menos mal que todo lo que compré lo envolvimos cuidadosamente en plástico! No sé cómo, el cuello del esmalte estaba todo pringado de esmalte cuando lo abrí para hacer el "chuache" en la rueda de muestras.
El pincel también ha cambiado, ahora es más ancho y me resultó un poco más difícil de manejar.



I base my judgement on the only time I've used this polish so far. The formula was waaay too thick and it took me ages to get an even coverage on my nails. I admit that doing your mani at 11 pm after an exhausting first day in Berlin may not be the best idea, but to make things worse this polish almost wreaked havoc inside my suitcase on the way back. It's just as well we carefully wrapped all our purchases with plastic! I have no idea how the bottle neck ended up all gooey covered in nail polish when I opened it again to make the swatches on my nail wheels.
The new P2 polishes also have a wider brush, which was a bit hard to manage for me.



En cuanto al color, el esmalte 710 Soulful es un tono topo, por desgracia muy similar a otro de Essence que ya tenía y del que mi hermana estaba prendada y que finalmente ha adoptado. Voy a darle una segunda oportunidad a este esmalte de P2 antes de añadirle diluyente para ver si tiene remedio.
La verdad es que ha sido algo que me ha fastidiado un montón, ya que los anteriores esmaltes de P2 tenían a todo el mundo enamorado por su excelente relación calidad - precio.

As for the colour, 710 Soulful is a regular taupe, unfortunately too similar to one of my Essence polishes my sister had a crush on and has finally adopted. I'll give this P2 a second chance before adding some nail polish thinner to see if I can make it any better. The truth is this has been quite a flop and a disappointment, since the old P2 polishes were praised and loved everywhere for offering high quality shades at competitive prices.

En las fotos, llevo una capa de la base de P2 'Base and Care coat', creo que dos del Soulful y ningún topcoat.
Como la duración tampoco fue espectacular, un par de días después si mal no recuerdo, estrené el crackling dorado de P2, que no sabía que iba a ser una de las novedades de esta marca antes de marchar.



In the pics I'm wearing a coat of P2's 'Base and Care coat', followed by 2 of 'Soulful' I think and no top coat. A couple of days later, as it had started chipping, I added a coat of P2's gold Crackling which was a surprise for me, since I had no idea before I left for Germany that was going to be one of the products in the new range.

Hoy os traigo un recorrido virtual por una de las droguerías más famosas de Alemania, DM, al más puro estilo James Bond. El primer día no calculé bien y sumado al frío, me quedé sin batería antes de lo que yo esperaba, por lo que la mayoría de las fotos las hizo mi hermana con su cámara, que no es precisamente tamaño espía.
El resto de los días espabilé y fui bien provista de pilas para poder "afotar" todo, jeje.

Today I have prepared for you a virtual tour of one the most popular German drugstores, DM, with lots of undercover pictures not even a world-class spy like James Bond could equal. I underestimated my camera use and the life of my batteries on my first day and that coupled with the cold left me without a working camera earlier than expected, so most of the photos that follow had to be taken by my sis with her camera, which let's face it, it's far from being compact in size as befitting a spy.
I wised up and went well prepared the rest of the days, ;)








Ya me habían advertido que la visita a un DM llevaba tiempo y es cierto. Literalmente te pierdes con la cantidad de productos que hay allí, la sección de productos de tamaño viaje me dejó boquiabierta. Lo único que me confundió un poco fue la distribución de ciertos productos: el tamaño viaje de un mismo producto no está al lado del de tamaño normal, por ejemplo; las cremas de Essence estaban en estantes normales y no junto al mueble.

I'd been pre-warned about the fact that a visit to a DM store was time consuming and indeed it was, especially if it's your first. Quite literally, you get lost and dizzy at the sight of the range of products to be found there, the travel-size aisle left me totally speechless. The only thing I found a bit confusing was the arrangement of certain products in the store: the travel size and the regular size version of the same product are not close to one another, for instance; the Essence creams were in shelves and not next to the makeup display...

Encontramos una gran variedad de marcas, algunas conocidas en España como nuestra Astor, Max Factor y nuestra adorada Essence, pero incluso dentro de esas, la gama que encontramos a nuestra disposición yo diría que es incluso mayor. Recuerdo unos esmaltes de colores neón en el stand de Astor y unas minilacas de uñas en el de Max Factor que no me suena haber visto en España. Tampoco tenemos en España la marca MNY, perteneciente al grupo Maybelline y orientada a un público más joven, de mucho colorido y con precios similares a Essence.
Lo mismo sucede con la italiana Debby, del grupo Deborah. De esta marca, tan sólo vimos una pequeña colección -yo diría que era una EL- en uno de los DM que visitamos. De precio, similar a Catrice, aunque creo que los esmaltes eran más caros.
Otras marcas como Esprit, la línea de maquillaje de Nivea, la línea de cuidado y cosmética natural del DM, Alverde o la superventas P2 son imposibles de encontrar fuera de Alemania y de sus países vecinos.









The variety of brands available was like out of this world. Some of them are well known to us, like the Spanish Astor and the more international ones like Max Factor or our beloved Essence. However, when looking at the makeup displays of these brands I dare say the range of products available there is even larger than what we have here in Spain. I recall seeing some Astor polishes in bright neon colours I'd never seen before over here and the same goes for the mini MaxFactor ones -I have no recollection of ever coming across them in our stores.
There's also the brand MNY, a division of Maybelline with a make-up line aimed at a younger audience and in the same price range as Essence. The same goes for the Italian Debby, a younger version of Deborah, though we only found that at one DM. It was most likely a LE, the one you can see in the photo. It's in the Catrice price range, though I think the polishes were more expensive.
And then we have other brands like Esprit or the store's best seller and own brand P2 as well as DM's natural care and make-up line Alverde, which are impossible to find outside of Germany and neighbouring countries.




Sin embargo, las marcas que no vimos por ninguna parte son algunas de las que encontramos aquí: Maybelline, Bourjois, Deborah, Rimmel, etc.

However, the brands we did not find were the ones we usually have in Spanish drugstores: Maybelline, Bourjois, Deborah, Rimmel, and so on.

La disponibilidad de productos varía según la tienda: en algunas pasa como en España, que parece que acabara de pasar el caballo de Atila, mientras que otras estarán más surtidas.

Product availability varies depending on the store: some may be 'polished off', as if raided by Attila's troops like in Spain while others may be well stocked.




No sólo tiene maquillaje, por ejemplo, la sección de almacenaje me pareció muy interesante. Había organizadores con usos múltiples, por ejemplo para tener los labiales que más usamos a mano.

But there's more than just makeup at DM, the storage displays were very interesting with lots of storage ideas and multiple purposes for them, like keeping the lipsticks we use the most handy and neatly arranged.




Creo que todas las fotos que incluyo pertenecen al DM, espero que no se me cuele ninguna de otra tienda por error. Si es así, mis disculpas.

I hope all the uploaded pics belong to DM, it's hard to remember exactly a few weeks after the fact. My apologies if for some reason some of them are not.

Leo en vuestros comentarios, que os ha gustado el pintalabios de P2 que os enseñaba en la foto de las compras que hice en Berlín de la marca del DM, P2.

El tono que compré es el tono 020 Sunset Boulevard. Personalmente a mí no me llaman nada los tonos nude, pero me pareció que este al ser en tonos rosas sí que podía resultar favorecedor. Y efectivamente así es.



I read in your comments that you liked the P2 lipstick that appeared in the picture of my P2 purchases in Berlin at DM. The shade I got was 020 Sunset Boulevard. I'm not a fan of nude lipsticks at all, but I thought this one being pink could look well on me and I'm glad to say I wasn't wrong.

Las barras de labios de P2 tienen un precio estupendo, tan sólo 1,95 €, lo que las sitúa en la misma gama de precios de NYX, aproximadamente.
Y no sólo son comparables con los labiales redondos de NYX por su precio, también por su calidad. Sinceramente, me han encantado: su textura cremosa hace que se deslicen con facilidad por nuestros labios. En NYX tengo la impresión de que algunos tonos son más cremosos que otros, ignoro si pasará lo mismo con los de P2. Los de P2 me han parecido muy cremosos, pero tampoco mantecosos.



P2 lipsticks are excellent value for money and at € 1.95 they're in the same price range as NYX. These lipsticks are also comparable to the NYX round lipsticks in terms of quality. Honestly, these have been a really nice surprise: their creamy texture makes them glide smoothly over your lips. With NYX, I get the impression that some colours are creamier than others. I don't know if the same applies to P2. These are creamy, not feeling buttery or uncomfortable at all.

Nuestras compras de P2 en Berlín - Our P2 Berlin Haul

Hoy os traido una nueva entrada sobre las compras que hice en Berlín, en concreto la de la marca P2, marca propia de las droguerías DM/Budni alemanas.

I have a new entry today featuring more purchases from our recent trip to Berlin, this time around from P2, the house brand of the German DM/Budni drugstore. For my English-speaking readers: if you read it in Spanish, P2 is not a very fortunate name = Farts, LOL, ;)

No pude comprar ni la mitad de las cosas que quería debido a la discontinuación y lamentablemente los productos que retiraban ya habían volado de las estanterías. Os anticipo algo: me he llevado sorpresas pero también desilusiones, así que estad atentas a próximos post.

I couldn't buy as much as I had originally intended due to the discontinuation of some products, which unfortunately were gone for good -or the bad, in this case. A quick preview: there have been some nice surprises but also some nasty ones. Stay tuned for the hits and misses.

Nuestras compras de Essence en Berlín (Parte 1) - Our Essence Berlin Haul (part 1)

Hoy estoy prolífica, pero es que os habíamos prometido ir desvelando las compritas que habíamos hecho en Berlín. Aquí tenéis lo mío y como podéis ver me he portado bien, demasiado bien.

I'm a very prolific blogger today, but we promised we'd uncover the purchases we'd made in Berlin. So here you are mine and as you can see I behaved pretty nicely, too nicely.

Supongo que en Alemania debe de pasar como en España, que las novedades no llegan con la misma rapidez a todas las ciudades, pero la verdad es que nos sorprendió un montón que ni las novedades de Essence ni las de Catrice hubiesen llegado aún a Berlin. A Hamburgo, gracias a Maluchi26 sí que sabíamos que lo habían hecho antes de marchar.

I guess that in Germany happens the same as in Spain, meaning that new products don't get everywhere at the same time, but the truth is we were shocked by the fact that none of the new releases -neither from Essence nor Catrice- were available in Berlin yet. They were in Hamburg and we knew that before leaving, thanks to Maluchi26.

Tenía muchas ganas de experimentar un poco con el tema de la estampación. Nos hicimos con el kit de Essence que venía en el número de Marzo de la revista Instyle, gracias a Teufeu, así que ahora nos hacían falta algunas placas.

I was very eager to play around with nail stamping. Thanks to Teufeu who spread the news, we grabbed one copy of the March Spanish issue of Instyle magazine that included the Essence nail stamping kit for free and now we were in need of some stamping plates.

Antes de marchar estuvimos probando el kit con algunos esmaltes que teníamos y conseguimos hacer algún diseño, con resultados mejores que otros dependiendo de los casos y teniendo en cuenta nuestra nula experiencia. Como sabíamos que el raspador que traen estos kits rayan las placas, usamos varios trozos de tarjeta de plástico (la antigua tarjeta del bus, para no mentir). Hace un par de días me decidí a abrir una de las nuevas placas, en concreto la de los motivos animales -lo siento, pero ambas placas tienen la misma referencia- y uno de los esmaltes especiales de Essence, el Stampy negro.

Before we left we tried the kit with some of our polishes and managed to create a few designs on our nails, with mixed results depending on the polish used and given our lack of experience. We knew already that the scraper included in these kits damaged the plates, so we used an old bus pass cut into pieces. A few days ago I decided to use one of the plates for the first time -the one with animal prints, both plates have the same reference, sorry- and one of the special stamping polishes, the one in black.

Resumiendo: nos costó Dios y ayuda conseguir transferir medio diseño en dos uñas. Supongo que todo es cuestión de práctica, pero pensábamos que con esto la cosa iba a ser coser y cantar. Y que conste que probamos con varios diseños.

In a nutshell: we took pains until we finally managed to transfer like half a design onto two nails. I guess it's just a matter of practice, but we thought it was going to be a piece of cake now and it was more like a nightmare. And yes, we did try different designs.



Me hubiera gustado hacerme con la placa de manicura francesa, pero ya fue un triunfo hacerme con estas dos. Soñaré con que la tengan en nuestro proveedor de Essence, que tiene pensado poner el mueble de tratamiento a mediados de abril -ya veremos si es verdad.

I would have liked to get the French manicure plate as well, but getting these two was hard enough as it was. If I'm reeaally lucky I'll might be able to get them from our Essence dealer, which is planning to bring the treatment display in mid-April -we'll see if that really happens or I'll have to dream on.
