UDLS / NOTW: Nails Inc + China Glaze 'Midnight Kiss'

¡Hola guapas!

Hi beauties!
There's a saying that goes: Better late than never, so I'm hoping you won't mind my sharing with you a mani I should have shown you a while ago now.

In my defense I have to say I've had a hectic month: first giving the final touches to exams, then doing them and now I'm in the process of marking those.

I wore this mani for New Year's Eve. Since I didn't have any base at my parents', I applied a coat of the Essence 'Better than Gel Nails' topcoat, plus two of this Nails Inc polish.
To protect the mani, I gave it a coat of the Revlon topcoat.

Wear time was surprisingly short, with some tips showing damage the very next day. Strangely enough, the polish peeled off my nails, exactly as if I'd applied a peel-off base. I suppose it had to do with my applying a topcoat first rather than a proper base coat.

I hope that you still liked the mani despite my tardiness.

Manicura de Nochevieja / NYE mani: Nails Inc 'Wardour Mews'.

Hola, chicas:

Hi girls,

It's been quite a while since the last mani I shared with you, so I thought that New Year's Eve was an excellent occasion for nail polishing.

I borrowed the products from Marox this time.

I chose this polish from Nails Inc., from a set of four that Marox bought at TK Maxx in Dublin.
I find both the shade and the effect hard to describe, so I think it's better to see it for yourselves.

I used a base coat from Essence.
After that, two thin coats of this polish from Nails Inc., and a top coat from the Essence  'Better Than Gel Nails' range.
Unlike Poshé's top coat, this one from Essence has to be applied over dry polish, so you'll have to wait for a while after applying the nail polish.

This mani has lasted for a week, which is great.

Well, this is all for now.
I hope not to be this lazy with manis this year.
See you around.

UDLS / NOTW: Nails Inc. #113 'Clerkenwell'

¡Hola!

Hi!

How's your start to the Christmas holidays? At work we had a small party and I prepared a couple of sweet and savoury things to share with everyone. Expect a few recipes coming soon.

Anyway, it was about time I posted a mani, wasn't it? Today's mani features one of the polishes I bought in London from Poundland. So yes, I spent only a quid on this. Yeah!
In our London Haul post we wrote about how pleasantly surprised by these stores we were. Makeup items were neatly sealed and displayed, hanging from hooks.

This polish belongs to the effects line and the finish on this one resembles leather. The pastel shade and the finish itself call for a careful and more time-consuming application. That is, if you want it to look decent enough.

I seem to recall I used my holo base from Gosh, followed by two coats of this and topped with my trusted Essence BTGN quick-drying topcoat.

Have you tried any Nails Inc polishes? Do you often spot bargains like this?

UDLS/NOTW: "Sugar House Lane" de Nails Inc.

Hola, chicas:

Hi girls,

Here I am again to show you my latest mani so far.

Although the title of this post is 'Nails of the week', it could have been 'Nails of the day', because I could only wear this mani for a day.
Isn't it a pity? I was so eager to use this for the first time!

It is a light taupe shade, with golden, silver and black glitter.

For this mani I used the peel-off base from Essence (maybe this is the reason for the poor lasting time), then two thin coats of this polish, and finally, my top coat from Poshé.

Do you like this kind of polish for your manis?

Tell us in the comments section below.
See you!

Compras varias acumuladas / Sundry haul.

Hola, chicas:

5- Eau de toilette "Rogue by Rihanna".

Hi ladies,

How are you coping with the cold weather we're having lately? We've had several snowfalls over here and we were hoping you'd feel like snuggling up in front of the screen rather than face the snow and freezing weather outside.

Anyway, here we are again ready to share with you some stuff we bought recently.

1- 'Hey, Nude' lipstick from Catrice (Marox).
This is actually a repurchase, but not because she has used up the other one already.
It turns out Marox lent her lipstick to our mother, because she wanted to use it in one of the very few times she puts some make up on.
What happened then? That lipstick is now gone missing. She can't find it, so I bought a new one on a recent visit to Beauty Gloss.
I paid €4.59 for it.

Let me now tell you how the other stuff we bought came about.
It was a rainy day, but we wanted to go out.
What could we do? As Marox says, 'Mall tourism'. So we went to a Mall that has a Sephora store.
As it's sales time, there were 'Crazy Prices' at Sephora, so it was the right time for us to get some goodies.

2- 'Sugar House Lane' nail polish from Nails Inc (Marian).
As you can see, it's a polish with special effects. I love those. All the polishes from this brand were discounted at €4, so I couldn't leave it on the display and therefore this came home with me.
I haven't tried it yet, but when I do, I'll try to remember to use the Essence peel-off base underneath, in order to be able to remove it easily.

3- Vinyl effect lip jumbo pencil in 'Vinyl Raspberry', from Sephora (Marian).
They had tons of these at a reduced price, but I was looking for a special shade, different from what I already have, so I chose this one.
The shade is much more intense in real life than in the pic. You know that sometimes it's quite hard to capture the real colours on camera.
Price was also €4.

4- Dark spot minimizing serum from Sephora (Marian).
Though I haven't used up the one I already own (I'm still using it), I took advantage of the crazy prices to get another one as backup for the reasonable price of... Jackpot! €4.
I know that it's very hard to get rid of dark spots for good, but it seems that my mega dark spot has lessened since I started using it.

5- 'Rogue by Rihanna' Eau de toilette.
We both bought one. We'd never heard about this fragrance, but we tried the tester at the store and we loved its powdery scent.
We paid €15 for a 75 ml bottle.

Together with our purchases, we got some perfume samples: two of 'Miss Dior' (Blooming Bouquet), and another two of 'J'Adore', which we both love, as you already know.

Well, this is all for now.
What do you think of our purchases?

UDLS / NOTW: Nails Inc 471 'New Burlington Place'

¡Hola!

Hi!
Want to see another of the polishes that I *bought* in Dublin? It belongs to the Nails Inc set that I purchased at TK Maxx, in St. Stephen's Green Shopping Centre in Dublin.
In the pictures, I have a coat of the P2 base on. Once dry, two coats of this polish. Application was quite smooth, but not as breathtaking as with the other one I used. The colour screams Christmas to me. I topped this mani with one coat of the Essence BTGN top sealer.

I didn't keep an eye on how long this lasted on me, as I usually do.

Have you tried any Nails Inc. lacquers?

Today I'm back with a mani where I used for the first time the Nails Inc set that I bought at TK Maxx in Dublin's St. Stephen's Green Shopping Centre. It's an Outlet store, that reminded us a lot to the El Corte Inglés Outlet that we have back home, in Zamora.
I don't usually buy posh brands, but doing the math each polish was €5 and all the colours in the set were really pretty, so I thought I could splurge a little for a change.

Day 1: At night, I apply one coat of my Basic from Schlecker basecoat, followed by one of this polish. Application is a dream, the lacquer gives you a great coverage with just one coat and the consistency is neither too liquidy nor too thick. It seemed to apply all by itself. I topped it with a coat of Seche Vite, which is becoming harder to use everytime as there is little left.

Day 3: I've had chips in both sides of several nails in my right hand and there are beginning to appear on my left. Wearwise, I wished this had lasted a little longer. Perhaps with a different basecoat lasting time would be better.

Do you often buy polishes from high-end brands? I'm afraid I kind of suffer from the 'Essence syndrome' cause it pains me to pay more than I should for a certain product.
