Un objeto, dos usos. - One item, two uses.

Hola, chicas:

Hi girls,

This post is not a big discovery, but I'd like to share it with you anyway.
Some months ago, I told marox to buy a box to store tea bags from Lidl -it was actually the same day she bought me my *serger*-, because I had all the tea bags badly stored in a kitchen cabinet.

After seeing that the places in the box were quite spacious, marox suddenly came up with the idea of trying to use this box to store nail polishes. I don't know if she could store all of them, because there are so many. As you can see, some of the bottles are so tall that the box can't be closed; that's why some of them are 'laid down'. Now that I'm looking at this pic in depth, she can't store all her polishes here, definitely. When she wants to take them with her, I don't know what she's going to do. Any ideas?

I don't know if you have guessed, but we finally used this box for its intented purpose: tea bags storage.

Unfortunately, we didn't record the moment (had I done so, I would have uploaded the video on YT), but you should have seen the 'high' Molly got when she caught a sniff of the valerian tea bags we were storing. But they're not the only ones she likes. She also took a liking to those labelled 'línea'.

And now let's go with another thing with a double use.
Those of you who are (or have been) contact lenses users, will surely have one of those little boxes to store them, with two spaces and a screw-on cap.
Well, here's my tip: always carry one of those when you go makeup shopping and want to try a cream product. Their telling you they don't have sample jars will no longer be an excuse, because you will bring you own. That's a cool idea, isn't it?
We went with our little double jar to Mercadona and got a bit of their face primer on the left part and some eyeshadow primer on the right one to try at home.

Do you know about any other item with a double use? If so, feel free to tell us. All your ideas will be very welcome.

Nuestro pedido a Buyincoins / Our Buyincoins order

In one of my posts featuring my nail polish collection, I mentioned that I was running out of empty spaces in my nailwheels and I let slip that I'd ordered new ones from Buyincoins. Unlike the previous ones, this time around I decided to place my order not on Ebay but at this online store. Paypal is the payment method there as well, so that gave me confidence on the store's reliability.

Wanna see what we got? There's a little bit of everything, and not all is make-up related, but we'd like to share that too, anyway, in the hope that you may find it useful. The items purchased at Buyincoins do not come in a cardboard box but wrapped in bubble wrap. Shipping (standard) is free, though as I was a new customer there, I opted for signed-for delivery with tracking. I had to pay a little more than a euro for that. Shipping was fast and without any problems whatsoever, so I'll probably choose the standard free shipping next time.

You can find similar items at Ikea, for instance, but since there's no Ikea around here (yet), we decided to check these out first. They had an offer on the 50x70cm space bags, B2G3. We've used two of them so far and will give the other to our mum to try. We wondered if these were any good, considering the low price or were just crap and destined to begin and end their days on the dustin upon arrival. Although I suppose the quality of these is considerably lower than those available from other stores, if you're careful and patient, they do the job. The side ziplock is a bit tricky to deal with. As I have little patience myself, I left that handy, delicate job -lol- to my sister, the acknowledged DIYer here. She's done and uploaded a video to her YT channel for you to watch if you're interested in these bags.

It operates with two batteries. It's the only item we haven't tried yet. We'll let you know how well it works when we do.

These are available in two sorts, a 'one size fits all' one metre long, which are the ones we've ordered and in an assorted bag including 15 guards. Haven't used them yet.

I ordered a total of ten. These are available individually or in lots of 5. These are slightly whiter than my previous set of the same kind from Ebay. Marian and I will be sharing those, as good sisters do.

Here I am again with another post of my 'DIY' series. I'm sure you were beginning to miss them ;-)

This time I also borrowed the idea from 'eLDiaRioDeDreah' (I think I've put the capital letters in the right place). It's a scarf organizer.

Esto es lo que vais a necesitar:

*Una percha (de las de tintorería).

*Anillas para cortina.

*Tenazas.

*Lana.

*Tijeras.

This is all you'll need to make it:

*A coat hanger (those from the dry-cleaner's are OK).

*Rings for curtains.

*Pincers.

*A hank of wool.

*Scissors.

First of all, unscrew all the little rings from the curtain rings. If you're strong enough (like the girl in the video), you can do it by hand. As I'm not that strong, I used the pincers. In the video, she unscrews all the rings except those over the ones which will be joined to the coat hanger. She opens those with the pincers. I tried to, but I couldn't, so I ended up unscrewing all of them.

Afterwards, I put the rings together. I cut some wool threads about 30 cm long each, and I bent each one in half, leaving some kind of a lasso to 'hunt' the rings. Now take each thread and turn them around in the opposite direction (at least I did it that way), and then tie them on the back side, and cut off the excess (leaving approximately 2 cm between the knot and the end of the thread).

Repeat this step until you have all the rings joined: make a first row of 4 rings, a second one of 3, the third one of 2 and only one ring at the end. Then, put all the rows together.

Now join the upper row of 4 rings to the coat hanger. I cut 4 threads of wool, and I just turn it several times and I tied the two ends.

And the scarf organizer is finished. Now just hang your scarves, so they'll be stored and at a glance.

Cómo optimizar el espacio en el cuarto de baño – How to seize the space in the bathroom.

Or maybe I should say: 'How to increase your storage space', but without any building work involved and without spending too much money.

Until just a few days ago, the storage space in my bathroom consisted of just two trolleys (one per bathroom); one of them with drawers and the other one with shelves.

But since I've become almost a make-up-holic, things were steadily beginning to pile up, which was really a mess (it's just as well I don't store my make-up in the bathroom).

One day, my parents went to a DIY mall, and then they saw something which could be the solution of my problem. A washstand, of those packed as a kit, more or less easy to assemble if you follow the instructions strictly, which costs €125 each. You can see it on this website.

They're available in 3 colours: white, cherry tree and black-brown. I chose the two of them in white, which in the case of a bathroom, goes with every colour.

Once assembled and in place, I bought some nonslip sheets to protect the drawers. These can be easily found at multiprice stores as they sell a bit of everything. I purchased them at a local store which is a mix between a drugstore, a toy store and a gift store.

What do you think? I think this is a good storage solution for the bathroom, mainly for small flats, in which these aren't very spacious.
