Mis regalos y autorregalos de Navidad 2021. - My Christmas gifts and gifts-to-self 2021.

Hola, chicas: Un año más, os enseño en esta entrada los que han sido mis regalos de Navidad. 1- Dashcam para el coche.   Ha sido regalo de mis padres. La ha pedido Marox a AliExpress. Le hemos regalado a mi padre una para su coche y ellos me han regalado otra a mí. Contacté con un taller para que me la instalen y pude estrenarla durante las vacaciones de Navidad. Eso sí, he tenido problemas con el consumo de energía en el modo aparcamiento -me quedé sin batería en el coche, por dos veces-. Ya está solucionado, con un interruptor que desconecta la corriente siempre que quiera. La cámara frontal, que va instalada en el espejo retrovisor, graba en 2,5K, y la cámara trasera en 1080p. Para que grabe, hace falta lo que ha sido el segundo regalo. 2- Tarjeta de memoria micro SD. Ha sido toda una odisea que llegara. A Marox le ha costado tres intentos. Tiene capacidad de 128GB (lo máximo que admite la dashcam). Este tipo de tarjeta es válida para drones y cámaras de acción que graban en 4K. 3- Fire TV stick, de Amazon. Ha sido regalo de Marox, que ha acertado de pleno, como siempre. Sólo hice foto de la caja, porque me pudo el ansia viva, y ya la he estrenado. La tengo instalada en el televisor que tengo en mi habitación, donde ahora puedo ver los videos de Youtube desde la comodidad de mi cama, jeje.   4- Mascarilla facial de Mi Rebotica. Es una mascarilla purificante, con arcilla blanca y verde. Todavía no la he probado. Vino con una revista de las que suele comprar y ella ya tenía varias en uso. 5- Cepillo eléctrico de limpieza facial. Lo compró mi madre en Wolala, una tienda de Zamora que tiene un poco de todo, pero con un diseño monísimo. Funciona con batería recargable.     6- DVD de Ace of Base. Incluye varios videoclips de algunos de sus temas a lo largo de su trayectoria. Mi autorregalo han sido... bolillos. No sé si lo sabéis, pero desde no mucho tiempo a esta parte, hago encaje de bolillos. Empecé a ir a clase meses antes de que empezara la pandemia, y después, gracias a YouTube (esa gran fuente de conocimiento) he seguido aprendiendo por mi cuenta.   El año pasado le hice un fular a mi madre, y le voy a hacer uno a Marox, en los colores que ella ha elegido. El que hice para mi madre me llevó casi un año, así que le he dicho a Marox que tenga paciencia. Los he comprado a dos vendedores distintos en Wallapop. Y esto ha sido todo. Perdonad por la tardanza. A ver si este año consigo ser más constante con el blog. Hasta pronto.

Hi girls, Like every year, in this post I'm showing you my Christmas gifts. 1- Mirror-mounted dashcam: It was my parents' present. Marox ordered it from Aliexpress. We'd bought our father one for his car and they gave me another one.  I contacted a local garage specialized in electronics, who installed it for me. Hopefully they were able to do so during the Christmas holidays so I could test it. It works great, though I did have issues with energy consumption, as the camera drained my car's battery twice when in parking mode. It has now been fixed, with the shop fitting a switch to power off the unit when I need to. The front camera, which is mounted on the rearview mirror records videos in 2.5K quality, whereas the rear camera makes them in 1080p.  In order for the device to record, it needs a good-quality micro SD card, which was the second gift they gave me.  2 - Micro SD card: Getting this to me was quite the nightmare. Mar had to order from different stores three times.     The storage capacity is 128GB (the maximum admitted by the dashcam). These types of memory cards are suitable for use in drones and action cameras with 4K recording capabilities. 3 - Fire TV stick, from Amazon. This was a present from Marox, which nailed her presents, as always. I was only able to take a picture of the box, because I couldn't wait to test it.  It is now installed in the TV I have in my bedroom, where I can now watch Youtube in bed, lol.   4- Face mask from 'Mi Rebotica' (a Spanish brand).   It's a purifying mask, made from white and green clay. It was a magazine freebie. She already has several face masks. I haven't tried it yet.     5- Electric brush for face cleaning.   My mother bought it at Wolala, a store in Zamora that has a little bit everything, with a cool design.   It works with rechargeable batteries.    6- Ace of Base DVD.   It contains some videoclips of  some of the songs along their career.       My gift to myself were... bobbins.  You may not know this, but I've caught the lace-making bug quite bad. I started taking lessons before lockdown and after that, I was able to continue learning thanks to good old Youtube. Last year I made my mum a scarf and now I'll be making one for my sister, using the colours of her choice.   The one I made for my mum took me almost a year to make, so I've told Marox to be patient.   I bought these bobbins second-hand, from two different sellers on Wallapop. Well, this is all for now. Sorry for the delay. This year I hope to be more consistent with my blog postings. See you around.

Mis regalos y autoregalos de cumpleaños / My Birthday presents and gifts-to-self 2021

Madre mía cómo pasa el tiempo. Otro año más que he cumplido y otro año más que os comparto los regalos que he recibido o me he hecho a mí misma.    Comienzo con los regalos que recibí, con bastante antelación de Marian. Como no se le ocurría bien qué regalarme, le mandé un par de ideas para que fuera sobre seguro y eso hizo.   1 - CD + DVD 'Gessle over Europe': Me faltaba en la colección, a pesar de que se editó hace ya 10 años. Lo típico, se editan varias cosas a la vez y quiere una dosificar un poco, pero luego va siendo más y más difícil -y caro- hacerse con determinados discos. Lo compró por Wallapop.   2 - CD 'En Händig Man', también de Per Gessle: Otro disco con el que me pasó lo mismo. Le tenía echado el ojo a la edición doble y Marian me ha regalado la sencilla, pero bueno, bienvenido es en mi colección igualmente. Lo compró en *Discogs*.   Mis padres me han dado dinero -han sido extra generosos- para que me comprara un par de cosas que me hacían falta.   3 - Auriculares de diadema con micrófono, MPOW: Los cogí en Aliexpress, con envío desde España. Los que tengo me los prestó Marian y aunque aún funcionan están muy feos a la vista, así que los usaré para algún apuro. Lo bueno que tienen es que se pueden poner con el micro tanto hacia el lado derecho como al izquierdo. Se pueden conectar a la toma de auriculares de por ejemplo un móvil o al USB del ordenador.   Os recuerdo que las compras en Aliexpress on devuelven dinero, con páginas como *Shoppiday*.     4 - Minicadena Auna 388 DAB: La pedí a la web de la marca, que la tenía más barata que Amazon y que por suscribirte a su boletín, te daba 5€ de descuento. La mía lleva un tiempo haciendo cosas raras y por mucho que pase el CD de limpieza no acaba de ir bien y no sabía ya qué hacer. Recuerdo que la compré en una tienda local de unos conocidos y me dejaron pagarla a plazos con mi paga semanal... para que os hagáis una idea de los años que tenía ya el equipo... y de los que voy teniendo yo.  Realmente no me hacía falta doble pletina de casettes. Ni sé los años que hace que no pongo una cinta, pero dentro de los modelos más completos era la que mejores opiniones tenía. A diferencia de la anterior, tiene para reproducir vinilos y aunque la mayoría no los tengo en esta casa, así podré reproducir los pocos que tengo aquí o lo que pueda comprar en el futuro.  Lo único malo es que no me cabe en la estantería donde tenía la otra.  5 - Bluray 'A streetcat named Bob': La vi por Internet durante el confinamiento tras leerme el libro -hábito que por cierto tengo de lo más descuidado- y últimamente me ha dado por renovar la videoteca con aquellas pelis que me gustan. Aunque veo muchas gracias a la suscripción de Prime, a veces sólo están disponibles unos meses. En España sólo está editada en DVD, pero la edición inglesa en BluRay trae castellano tanto en audio como en subtítulos, por si os interesa.  Como véis, parece que Pol tiene ganas de verla.  La pillé en Amazon.co.uk, que la tenía mejor de precio que la tienda española. Eso sí, ha tardado en llegar, como todo lo que envía Royal Mail.  6 - DVD 'Sabrina y sus amores': Otra película que nos gusta mucho en casa y que me apetecía tener, para verla siempre que queramos y no depender de si la ponen por la tele o está en alguna plataforma. Es el remake de 1995 de la película clásica con Audrey Hepburn. La compré de segunda mano en la web de *CEX*, en lo que ha sido mi primera experiencia en esta tienda -y puede que no la última -. El disco está en perfecto estado y me gustó que la hayan mandado de la tienda más cercana a mi ciudad. Me costó 3€ (más otros 2 de envío).      7 - Pedido a *Ginza.se*: Aparte de un par de Cds para mi madre por el día de la madre, me pedí 3 cositas para mí, para aprovechar bien los gastos de envío y el hecho de que no son baratos... Dios, ¡cuánto echo de menos CdON y sus gastos de envío a 5€, metieras lo que metieras-. De izquierda a derecha: un DVD de Per Gessle en solitario en concierto, un Bluray de su otra banda, Gyllene Tider en su gira de despedida y un concierto acústico sin público que dio hace unos meses en CD.  Ha sido el primer pedido que he hecho en esta tienda (era donde mejor estaban de precio las cosas o estaban disponibles), ya que casi siempre pido a Bengans, pero a partir de ahora, viendo que funciona bien también, pediré a la que mejor me salga o tenga lo que busco, como esta vez. No sólo tienen cosas de música, también venden electrónica, cosas para la casa, deporte, películas, etc.    Creo que no me he olvidado de nada.  ¿Os han gustado lo que he recibido?

Lord, time does fly. Another birthday for me and another year with me sharing with you the presents I got for said occasion or that I treated myself to.    I'll start with what I got -quite early- from Marian. As she didn't know what to get me, I texted her some inspo so she could play it safe and that's what she did.   1 - CD + DVD 'Gessle over Europe: It was missing in my collection, despite the fact it was released about 10 years ago. You see, there are times when multiple stuff is released at the same time and you stupidly decide to restrain yourself... only to discover the album is increasingly harder -and more expensive- to get. She bought it from Wallapop Spain.   2 - 'En Händig Man' CD, also by Per Gessle: Another album I didn't get when it was released. I had my eye on the double edition, but she got me the standard one. It is more than welcome in my collection all the same. She got it from *Discogs*. My parents gave me money -they were extra generous - to buy a couple of things I needed. 3 - Headphones with microphone, from the brand MPOW. I bought them on Aliexpress and they shipped from Spain. The ones I was using are in fact Marian's and although they still work they're all tatty, so I'll only use them in an emergency. The good thing about the new ones is that you can wear them with the microphone to your left or right. They hook up to either a headphone jack, say, on your phone or a USB port on your computer. Remember you can get some money back from your Aliexpress purchases, as long as you use a cashback site such as *TopCashBack* to access the shop. 4 -  Auna 388 DAB Hi-fi System: I ordered this directly from the brand's website, as it was cheaper than Amazon and they gave you  €5 off if you subscribed to their newsletter. The old one has been acting funny for a while, no matter how many times you run the cleaning CD and I was running out of ideas on how to make it work properly again. I remember I bought this from a local shop some friends of my parents' had... who let me pay for it in instalments with my weekly allowance. That dates me and the equipment, LOL.   I didn't really need a double cassette player at all, since I don't even recall the last time I used a tape, but from the models I'd seen this had the best reviews. Unlike the previous one, this also plays records and even if I don't have that many here, at least now I'll be able to play the ones I keep here or others I may get in the future. The only downside is that it didn't fit the space on a shelf the old one was on.     5 - 'A Streetcat named Bob' Bluray: I saw this online after reading the novel when we first went into lockdown, which reminds me I should catch up on my reading. I've been buying physical media of late, as I'm trying to update my collection with films I like to watch every now and then. I do see a lot thanks to my Prime subscription, but some titles may only be available for a few months and then they're gone. It's only available on DVD in Spain, but the UK Bluray release comes with Spanish both dubbed and subtitles. As you can see in the picture, it looks like Pol can't wait to watch it.   I ordered this from Amazon.co.uk, since it was cheaper than at AmazonSpain. That being said, it took a while to get to me, as with anything that is shipped with Royal Mail.      6 - 'Sabrina': Another movie we love at home and I really wanted to own. That way we can watch it anytime we're in the mood and don't need to rely on it being broadcast on TV or available on a streaming service. It's the 1995 remake of the classic film starring Audrey Hepburn.  I got this second hand from *CEX* online in my first experience ordering from them -and maybe not the last. The disc was in mint condition and I appreciated the fact it was shipped from my nearest CEX. It was €3 (plus another €2 for shipping). 7 - *Ginza.se* Haul: Besides a couple of CDs for my mum for Mother's Day, I got 3 goodies for myself. That way I could make the most of the shipping cost, since they're not exactly cheap. God, how I miss CdOn and their flat-rate €5 shipping! From left to right: Per Gessle solo live DVD, a live Bluray with his other band, Gyllene Tider on their farewell tour and an acoustic solo CD from a concert he gave a couple of months ago without an audience, respecting social distancing.  It's been my first Ginza order, as it was the shop that had the best deals for some of the items or where some stuff was available. Most times I order from Bengans. Since this first order turned out fine, from now on I will buy my stuff from whichever store happens to have the best deals or stock what I'm looking for. They not only sell music, they do electronics, homeware, sports stuff, films, you name it. I think that was all. How do you like my goodies?

Mis regalos y autoregalos de Navidad - My Christmas gifts and gifts-to-self (2020)

¿Qué tal lleváis este temporal de frío? Espero que Filomena no haya causado demasiado trastorno en vuestras ciudades. Aquí ha nevado lo suyo, cosa que no suele suceder muy a menudo y también llevamos varios días con mucha cencellada. En este año tan raro y malo para muchos que hemos dejado atrás hace poco, hemos pasado - y pasaremos - más tiempo en casa que nunca, disfrutando de la compañía de la familia y dedicándolo al entretenimiento más de lo habitual.   Comienzo con los regalos que recibí de mi hermana:   1 - Trilogía de Millennium (películas basadas en la trilogía de Stieg Larsson) en Bluray: Aunque teníamos reproductor de BluRay en Burgos, lo cierto es que no teníamos ninguna película en este formato y ahora que lo pienso, casi ni en DVD.  Descubrí *Wallapop* recientemente y me autoregalé un reproductor para mi habitación de Zamora y claro, había que probarlo en condiciones.   Creo que Marian las compró por Ebay, todas al mismo vendedor que me las envió directamente a mí. Venían perfectamente precintadas, aunque en la imagen hay una ya sin el precinto.       Mis padres me dieron dinero -han sido súper generosos este año- y me he dado unos cuantos caprichos (y conociéndome, quizá caiga alguna cosa más). En mi defensa, debo decir que también vendí un artículo en Wallapop bastante bien y que tenía saldo de Paypal del cashback de mis compras online.    Sin más dilación, unas cositas de música:   2 - CD 'Gammal kärlek rostar aldrig' de Per Gessle, y libro sobre la mayoría de letras que ha escrito, en su edición en inglés, adquirido en *Bengans*.  Como véis, el libro es bien gordote. El Cd -su 13º disco en solitario- incluye temas nuevos creados para este disco, pero otros son bastante antiguos a los que le ha dado otro toque.  Por cierto, que ya ha anunciado nuevo disco con un concierto acústico que dió hace poco, televisado, cumpliendo las distancias impuestas por el coronavirus. Está visto que este buen hombre está empeñado en hacer que afloje la cartera. 3 - CD 'Bag of Trix' de Roxette: Lo compré en Amazon, que lo puso a muy buen precio en preventa, aunque desde el día 11 de diciembre que salió a la venta no lo recibí hasta el 22. En parte porque sospecho que han atendido antes los pedidos de Alemania, etc, que los de España. Ejem. La versión en CD son 3 cds, mientras que la edición en vinilo trae 4, pero era una pasada de cara.  Se nota que los vinilos se han puesto de moda y las discográficas se están forrando y se aprovechan.      4 - Película 'Intocable' en BluRay: Nos gustó mucho en su día y así la podemos ver de vez en cuando si nos apetece. La compré por Wallapop, aprovechando que un día pusieron los gastos de envío al 50%. Me salió por unos 8 euros, ya con el envío.  5 - 'Pretty Woman' en BluRay: Solemos verla cuando la ponen por la tele, así que mejor tenerla 'en propiedad' para verla sin anuncios y a la hora que queramos. La compré por Ebay genial de precio, por 4,50€, con envío gratis al vendedor *pop.fiction*.  6 - Trilogía de Bridget Jones en Bluray: Me salió tirada de precio en Amazon, 10.49€. Antes de comprarla, hice una comprobación en camelcamelcamel y nunca había estado más barata.       7 - Edición de coleccionistas de 'Dirty Dancing' en Bluray: Al igual que la anterior, comprobé el histórico de precio y era el más bajo, así que por 15€ se vino conmigo. Tengo algunos paquetes 'en tránsito'. A decir verdad, algunas de mis últimas compras están gafadas: un paquete de Amazon España que fue entregado en un 'lugar seguro' y han sido incapaces de decirme dónde lo han dejado; otro de Amazon del Reino Unido que viene de Australia que han tenido que reenviar porque aún no había sido escaneado pasadas 3 semanas... y otro de Amazon España para mi madre que aparte del retraso por el temporal, lo han mandado por error a otro transportista... a Barcelona.  Lo sé, problemas del primer mundo. How are you coping with *Storm Filomena*? I hope this cold snap hasn't caused much disruption where you live. Here, it has snowed for a few days -a rare occurence- and we've been having freezing frog pretty much non-stop for a few days. This year so weird and bad we recently left behind has made us spend a lot more time than ever at home and in the company of our loved ones. We've also devoted more of our free time to different entertainment options.   I'll start with the presents I got from my sister:   1 - Millennium trilogy (films based on the Stieg Larsson novels) on BluRay: The truth is we do have a BluRay player in Burgos, but we had no films in this format -nor much in DVD either, for that matter. I recently discovered *Wallapop*, a popular second-hand website in Spain, and treated myself to a player for my bedroom in Zamora. And I had to test that properly, you see.   I believe Marian got these off Ebay from the same seller, who shipped them directly to me. They were sealed, though in the picture one of them does no longer have said seal.   My parents gave me some money -they were really generous this year- and thus I've treated myself to some stuff I had my eye on -and knowing myself, more may come. In my defense, I must say I also sold an item on Wallapop for a great price plus I had some Paypal balance from the cashback I get from online purchases.       2 - 'Gammal kärlek rostar aldrig' (= Old love never rusts / dies) CD album by Per Gessle and English edition of the book about most of the lyrics he's written in English, which I ordered from *Bengans*. As you see, the book is quite heavy. The CD -his 13th solo album- includes both songs written and recorded for this album, as well as much older ones given new arrangements. By the way, he recently announced a new release, an unplugged concert that was broadcast live, respecting social distancing imposed by Covid19. It seems this guy is intent on me spending my hard-earned money.  3 - 'Bag of Trix' Cd from Roxette: I got this from Amazon, which had it at a great price while it was still on pre-order. Mind you, it's taken a long time for them to ship. It was released on December 11th, but I didn't get my copy until December 22nd. In part because I suspect they've given priority to orders from Germany and other countries before Spain. Erm.  The CD release comes with 3 discs, whereas the vinyl one has 4, but it was outrageously expensive, imo. It's evident that vinyls are back on trend and record companies are making the most of it and trick you out of your money accordingly.     4 - 'Untouchable' BluRay: We really enjoyed this French film when we first saw it, so why not enjoy it whenever we feel like it. I got this second-hand from Wallapop, on a day when they had 50% off shipping, for about €8 total.  5 - 'Pretty Woman' BluRay: We usually watch this whenever it is on TV, so we'd better have this 'in ownership'. I got this off Ebay really affordable, for only €4.50 including shipping from a Spanish seller.     6 - Bridget Jones Trilogy on Bluray: It was a steal at Amazon.es, only €10.49. Before ordering, I ran a search on camelcamelcamel and it had never been cheaper.  7-  'Dirty Dancing' Collector's Edition on Bluray: Just like with the previous item, I did a quick price tracking and it was at its lowest, so for just €15 I didn't even think about it. I do have some some pending packages that are 'in transit'. Truth be told, some of my latest orders seem to be jinxed: one from Amazon Spain that was delivered to a 'safe location' they were unable to determine; another one from Amazon UK that comes all the way from Australia that has had to be resent because it hadn't been scanned in the course of 3 weeks... and then another from Amazon Spain for my mum that is delayed to the storm and has been sent to another freight carrier by mistake... to Barcelona.  I know... first-world problems. Compras varias / Sundry Haul (IV)

La entrada de hoy va de compritas tecnológicas. Hace poco os comentaba que tenía un post de compras en el horno. Pues bien, era éste. Espero que no os decepcione, no todo aquí son cosas de belleza, como sabéis.

1- iPad Mini 5, 2019 (marox): Hoy empiezo fuerte, como véis. Mi iPad mini es ya bastante viejito (de primera generación, aunque yo pensaba que era de la segunda) y ya no me deja actualizar el sistema operativo ni alguna aplicación. Aunque funciona muy bien, me ha parecido que era momento de irlo jubilando. Puesto que este año no parece que nos podamos ir de vacaciones, pues he aprovechado para renovarlo.
Y como probablemente en breve nuestros 'ilustres líderes' nos bajen el sueldo, nos suban los impuestos para seguir viviendo ellos como reyes mientras los autónomos, vosotras y nosotros pagamos sus sueldazos, muchos trabajadores no cobran sus ERTE, etc.. me he dado el capricho.
Lo he comprado, nuevecito, por Ebay al vendedor *jurongeast*, por 377,99€, un preciazo, teniendo que en la tienda oficial de Apple cuesta 449€. El vendedor lo ha enviado desde España, aunque es importado puesto que trae enchufe americano (el vendedor incluyó un adaptador, eso sí). 
Se trata del modelo más básico, el de 64 GB y sólo Wifi, pero con los precios que manejan los de la manzana, no necesito más. El color, oro rosa, como podéis ver, que encima era el que más me molaba.
El viejo, intetaremos venderlo y así no me duele tanto el bolsillo. Y si no se vende, mi madre ha dicho que lo adopta.

Y relacionado con lo anterior, unas cuantas cositas más.

2 -  Funda ZtoTop para iPad Mini 5, de Amazon: Dudé mucho entre qué tipo de funda comprar. Ésta se ve robusta, tiene una goma para cerrar el 'libro' y luego otra a modo de asa en el interior para tenerlo bien sujeto con una sola mano. Es funda inteligente, de las que al abrirla se 'despierta' el dispositivo.
Lo que menos me gustaba es que es algo 'sosa' en comparación con otras que llevan algún detalle: un estampado, colores a elegir, etc.
Precio: 17,99€

3 - Protector de cristal templado para iPad Mini 5, de Amazon: La marca es *JETech* y tenía muy buenas opiniones. No es plan de gastarse los cuartos en el cacharrito y luego tenerlo por ahí desnudito y desprotegido para que sufra arañazos.
Precio: 7,99€



4 - Lápiz inteligente tipo 'Apple Pencil 1' de Aliexpress: También tenía buenas opiniones y además el *vendedor* enviaba desde España, lo mejor en estos tiempos que los envíos desde el extranjero demoran más de lo habitual.
Ni de broma pensaba gastarme los 100 pavos que cuesta el original, teniendo en cuenta que el uso que le voy a dar será ocasional. 
El vendedor es AIEACH. Trae una especie de guante, una pequeña funda y el cable para cargarlo.
Me ha gustado que el taponcito que esconde el puerto de carga está imantado. Así no se pierde con tanta facilidad. Tampoco se conecta mediante Bluetooth (así ahorramos batería en la tablet). Para usarlo, sólo hay que encenderlo.
Afortunadamente, a pesar de no ser el original, ha cabido justito en el hueco que tiene la funda para ello.

Some days ago I told you that I was working on a Haul post that was in the works. This is the one. I hope you won't be disappointed. Not everything we post is beauty-related.

1- iPad Mini 5, 2019 (marox): The main act comes first this time, as you see. My iPad mini is an oldie (it's a 1st gen model, not 2nd unlike I thought) and would no longer let me update the OS or some apps. It does work like a charm still but I felt it was a good time to upgrade. Since it doesn't seem we'll be going anywhere on holiday any time soon, I decided to spend some of that money on this.
And to make matters worse, sooner than later our salaries will get the chop, taxes will rise so our useless politicians can continue to live in the lap of luxury while others fail to get paid their temporary dismissals (ERTE in Spanish) and so on... Long story short, I splurged.
I bought it, brand new and perfectly sealed off Ebay to seller *jurongeast*, for €377.99, which is a steal, considering it retails at €449 at the Spanish Apple website. The seller shipped this from Spain, even though it is an imported model (and thus comes with a US plug, but an adapter was kindly included).
It is the basic model, with 64 GB and Wifi-only, but given how pricey anything by the 'fruit company' is, this is more than enough for me, honestly. It is the rose-gold model as you see, which happened to be the one I was digging anyway.
We'll be listing the old one, so my pocket doesn't hurt that much. If doesn't sell, my mum offered to take it in.

And related to the previous purchase, here are a few more things.

2 -  ZtoTop case for the iPad Mini 5, from Amazon: It took me a while to decide what case to get. This is very sturdy, has an elastic so you can keep the 'book' closed and then another strap inside to have a firm grip on the iPad with a single hand. It is a smart cover, one of those where the device 'wakes up' upon opening.
What I didn't like was the fact that it looks a bit 'meh' when compared to others that are more colourful or have some sort of pattern, come in different colours, etc.
Price: €17.99

3 - Tempered glass screen protector for the iPad Mini 5, from Amazon: The brand is *JETech* and had top reviews. It would be silly to splurge on the device but then keep it bare and unprotected against scratches and so on, wouldn't it?.
Precio: €7.99

4 - Smart Stylus, similar to the Apple Pencil 1, from Aliexpress: It did have great reviews and in addition, the *seller* shipped from Spain, the best thing these days considering the delays international shipments have.
There was no way I was going to spend €100 on the real thing, since I will only use this occasionally.
The store's name was AIEACH. It does come with an odd-looking glove, a small case and the charging cable.
I really like the fact that the cap is magnetic, making it more difficult to lose. It does not connect via Bluetooth (thus saving battery). All you need to do is press the power button and you're good to go.
Luckily, even if it's not the real name-brand stylus, the slot the case had for it fits this alternative one as well.
Price: $15.09.

Mis regalos y autorregalos de cumpleaños / My birthday gifts and gifts to self 2020

Hola, chicas:

Hoy me gustaría enseñaros los regalos de mi cumpleaños, inusual como pocos por culpa de la cuarentena y del "bicho".
Empiezo con los regalos de mi hermana. Mis padres me dieron -suficiente para el regalo estrella-.
Dadas las circunstancias actuales, creo que me he portado muy bien. 

1 - Pendientes de macramé, hechos por Marian: Ya sabéis lo mañosa que es mi hermana. Los he usado ya un par de veces.

2- Marcapáginas de encaje de bolillos, hecho también por Marian. Me da un poco de miedo que lo pesque Luna, mi gata, porque con el trabajo que le habrá llevado lo puede destrozar en un segundo.


3 - Colgante 'Arbol de la vida': Fue regalo de mis padres, de una tienda local que por desgracia cerraba. La cadena no es la que traía (era más finita), porque se me enganchó y con joyerías cerradas por el confinamiento no he podido repararla aún.

4 - Teléfono Samsung M30s: Mi teléfono empezaba a acusar la falta de espacio casi todos los días y prefiero jubilarlo funcionando por si en el futuro nos hace falta temporalmente a alguien en casa.
Aunque inicialmente me decantaba más por el A40 (con una pantalla más modosa), costaba lo mismo que éste. El M30s tiene mucha más batería -6000mAh-, mejor cámara -48 megapixels, ahí es nada- y tenía mejor relación calidad precio.
Este modelo lo vende *Amazon* en exclusiva. Me costó 199,99€. Está disponible en tres colores: negro, azul y blanco, que es el que yo escogí.
Hasta que me ha llegado la funda que he comprado en Aliexpress, lo he usado sobre todo en casa y con mucho cuidado. También le he colocado un protector de cristal templado, como suelo hacer.
Me costó Dios y ayuda meterle la microSD, por cierto. La conexión Wifi falla de vez en cuando. Quizá lo solucionen con algún parche.


5 - Lote esmaltes OPI 'Fan Favorites': Lo compré en... *Primaprix*, cómo no, al módico precio de 9,95€.Trae 5 productos en tamaño mini: una base y un topcoat y tres esmaltes en tonos rojizos / rosas. Ya lo he probado, así que no tardaréis en verlos en alguna entrada.



6 - CD de Roxette 'Look Sharp' reeedición 30 aniversario. Lo compré -nuevo- en Ebay al vendedor *turncircle*. Fue su segundo disco (el primer trabajo de ellos que se conoció fuera de Suecia)

7 -CD 'Pebble to a Pearl' de Nikka Costa: También comprado en Ebay -esta vez usado- al vendedor *thecotswoldlibrary*. Se trata de la edición europea de un disco editado en 2008. ¡Cómo pasa el tiempo! Tengo ya la edición americana, que me compré al poco de editarlo, pero la tengo en nuestra otra casa... y como lo encontré a buen precio, pues me di el capricho de 'tenerlo repe'. Han tardado en llegar -lo hicieron los 2 cds el mismo día-, como es lógico en estas circunstancias.
Está perfecto, así que tendré en cuenta a este vendedor en el futuro.

¿Compráis todavía música en formato físico? ¿Y distintas versiones o ediciones de un mismo disco?

Como no podría ser menos, os dejo con un poco de música. Se trata de 'The Voice' la que fue cara B del single de 'Dressed for Success' cuando se editó en su día.

Today I'd like to share with you my birthday gifts. Many of this year's birthdays will go down in history as the most unusual one we're likely to ever have since many of us spent those in lockdown because of the 'bug'.
I'll start with what I got from my sister. My parents gave me money -enough for my biggest splurge-.

1 - Macramé earrings, made by Marian: You know how crafty my sister is. I've worn them a couple of times already.

2 - Bookmark made of bobbin lace by Marian. I fear what my cat, Luna, could do to it if given the chance, especially considering how time-consuming making this piece must have been.

3 - 'Tree of Life' Pendant: It was a present from my parents. They got this from a local shop that was sadly closing down. 
The chain is not the one it came with, because it got torn and I could not have it repaired since jewellers are closed off because of the lockdown.

4 - Samsung M30s: My phone was nagging me almost every day with different 'not enough storage' pop-up messages and I'd rather get a new one while the old one still works, in case anyone at home has to ever use it as a back-up occasionally.
Although my first choice was the A40 -with a smaller, more manageable screen size - it was the same price as this. The M30s has a much bigger battery -6000 mAh-, better camera - a mind-blowing 48 megapixels - and was better value for money.
This model is an *Amazon* exclusive. It retailed at €199.99. It is available in three colours: black, blue and white, which was the one I went for.
Until I got the case I ordered from Aliexpress, I was very careful using this, mostly only at home. I have fitted it with a tempered glass screen protector, as I always do.
I had a hard time inserting the microSD card, btw.
The Wifi connection is sometimes lost. Hopefully they'll fix it with a patch or an update.

 


5- OPI 'Fan Favorites' set: I got this from... Primaprix. Hardly surprising, is it? This retailed at €9.95 and comes with 5 minis: a base, a top coat and three shades in the reddish/pinkish range. I've tried it already, so it probably won't take me long to share that with you.

6 - Roxette's 'Look Sharp' 30th anniversary re-release CD: Bought it new off Ebay, from seller *turncircle*. It was the band's second album (the first one for those of us outside Sweden).

7 -'Pebble to a Pearl' CD album by Nikka Costa: Again, got it off Ebay, from seller *thecotswoldlibrary*. This was used and it is the European edition of an album originally released back in 2008. Lord, how time flies!. I have the US release at our other home that I bought shortly after it came out, but this was very reasonably priced so I got my hands on it, even if it's something, in essence, I already have.
It took a long time to get here, understandable considering the current circumstances. Strangely enough, I received both the same day.
It is in excellent condition, so I'll definitely keep an eye on this seller in the future.

Do you still buy music in an actual, hard copy?
And what about different versions, editions and releases of the same album?

And I just had to finish today's post with some music. Feast your ears on 'The Voice' the B-side to the single 'Dressed for Success' back in the day.

Mis regalos y autorregalos de Navidad - My Christmas gifts and gifts-to-self.

Marox ya os enseñó sus regalos, y ahora me toca a mí.

Empecemos por los autorregalos.

1- Teléfono móvil Xiaomi Mi A3.
Llevaba un tiempo pensando en cambiar de móvil, porque el anterior empezaba a hacer cosas muy raras, y ya no era fiable.
Así que me he regalado éste, en color gris, con 128 GB de memoria, 3 cámaras traseras y una frontal.
De momento estoy encantada con él. Espero que me dure mucho.
Lo compré en Amazon.

2- Funda para Xiaomi Mi A3.
Me gusta llevar el móvil protegido.
Aunque en la caja del móvil venía una funda de silicona, preferí comprar esta funda.
No me gustan las de tipo libreta, que suelen tener unos diseños preciosos.
Esta es bastante más sobria, pero parece resistente.

Y ahora os enseño los regalos.

3- Perfume Eternity Moment, de Calvin Klein.
Marox sabe que me gustan mucho las fragancias de Calvin Klein, así que jugaba sobre seguro.
Todavía no lo he estrenado. Sólo lo probé para ver si me gustaba, y me encanta.
Lo compró en Perfumes Club y quedó muy satisfecha con la experiencia.



4- Libro "Barefoot Pilgrimage" de Andrea Corr.
Este regalo fue una sorpresa mayúscula, porque ni siquiera sabía de la existencia de este libro. Parece ser que se ha publicado hace muy poquito.
La idea de escribirlo surgió tras la muerte de Gerry Corr, el padre de The Corrs.
Todavía no he empezado a leerlo, pero seguro que me gustará.
El día que me lo regaló le eché un vistazo, y hablaba del concierto en Kew Gardens. No pude por menos de pensar: "Ahí estuvimos nosotras".

Esto ha sido todo.
Uno de mis deseos para este 2020 es ser más activa en el blog, y publicar más a menudo.
A ver si lo consigo.

Marox already showed you her gifts, so now it's my turn.

Let's start with my gifts-to-self.

1- Xiaomi Mi A3 smartphone.
I was thinking of replacing my smartphone for a while, because the old one was acting funny and wasn't reliable anymore.
So I gave this one to myself in grey, with 128 GB ROM, 3 rear cameras plus a front one.
I'm so happy with it so far, and I hope to use it for a long time.
I ordered it from Amazon.

2- Flip case for Xiaomi Mi A3.
I like protecting my mobile.
Even though a silicone case was included in the package, I decided to get this one.
I don't like those that look like a notebook (although they do come in beautiful designs).
This one is more discreet, but it seems sturdy enough.

Now let's go on with the gifts.

3- Eternity Moment perfume, from Calvin Klein.
Marox knows how much I like Calvin Klein fragrances, so she knew she was playing it safe.
I haven't used it yet. I just tried it to check if I liked it, and yes, I like it very much.
She ordered this from Perfumes Club and was really pleased with the shopping experience there.

4- 'Barefoot Pilgrimage' book, from Andrea Corr.
This gift was such a surprise for me, because I didn't even know it existed. As a matter of fact it is a very recent release.
The idea of writing this book came after Gerry Corr's death (The Corrs' father).
I haven't started to read it, but I'm sure I will like it.
I had a quick look the day I got it, and I could read something about Kew Gardens concert. I remember myself thinking: 'We were there'.



Well, this is all for now.
One of my wishes for this 2020 is to be more active on the blog, and upload posts more often.
Let's see if I can stick to that resolution.

Compras Varias / Sundry Haul 2019 (III)

Aquí venimos a enseñaros lo que hemos comprado últimamente.

1 - Agua Micelar Kueshi: Me queda muy poco del agua micelar de Lidl, que tiene un envase muy práctico. Había pensado probar la de Evoluderm de pieles reactivas, que tiene buenas opiniones, pero encontré ésta también y me gustó más. La compré en ese lugar de perdición llamado *Primaprix* por sólo 4,95€. 

2 - Desodorante Dove sin aluminio de pomelo y hierbalimón (marox): Y también de Primaprix, por 1,45€ me traje este desodorante sin aluminio. Marian está muy contenta con el suyo y lo cierto es que funciona bastante bien. Se queda corto en los días de mucho calor o trajín, pero no irrita la piel en absoluto y se puede encontrar en varias perfumerías y supermercados.

3 - Mascarilla Tissú Ginseng (marox): Primaprix, 1.50€ Ya la he usado y me gustó.

4 - Reproductor vintage de vinilos y cds, marca Muse, de *Amazon* (marox): Hemos estado de reformas en casa y aprovechando que compramos una estantería más grande para mi habitación, compré este reproductor para poder escuchar música en casa. Tiene un diseño muy bonito, con una excelente relación calidad-precio. El altavoz no es demasiado potente si queréis que la música se oiga en otras estancias cercanas. Para ese caso, le conecto con cable el altavoz Bluetooth *Aukey* que compré también en Amazon hace un par de años y mejora bastante.


5 - Pinza mini Tweezerman, en Sephora: Tanto Marian como yo nos hicimos con una, ya que estaba genial de precio, 7€, cuando lo normal es que cueste casi 15.

Here we are to show you what we've purchased lately.

1 - Kueshi Micellar Water: I'm running out of the Lidl cleansing water that comes with a very convenient pump bottle. I had originally thought about getting the Evoluderm one from their sensitive skin range, but liked this better. I got it from that evil outlet supermarket called *Primaprix*, for only €4.95

2 - Dove aluminium-free deodorant, Grapefruit and Lemongrass (marox): And another Primaprix purchase, retailing at €1.45 was this aluminium-free deodorant. Marian kept singing the praises of hers and it is indeed really nice to use, as it doesn't irritate the skin. It provides fairly good protection, as long as the weather's not too hot or you're not too active.
Another upside is that is readily available from most supermarkets or drugstores.

 

3 - Ginseng Sheet Mask (marox): Also from Primaprix discount supermarkets. I paid 1.50 EUR and have used it already. I liked it.

4 - Vintage-style Record and Cd player, from the brand Muse, available from *Amazon* (marox): We've done an extensive reno at home recently and I jumped at the opportunity to get a larger bookshelf for my room. This was the other addition, so I could listen to music again on something that wasn't my laptop. I love the vintage look and the fact that is great value for money. The speakers are not too powerful if you want to hear the music from another room, but in that case I connect *my Aukey* Bluetooth speaker that I got from Amazon a few years ago with a long cable and problem (somewhat) solved.

5 - Mini Slant tweezers by Tweezerman from Sephora: Both Marian and myself got one, as it was a steal at €7. Regular price is almost 15.

Mis regalos de cumpleaños / My birthday presents

Hola, chicas:

Hoy me gustaría enseñaros los regalos que recibí por mi cumpleaños, ¡40 ya!, así como algunas cosillas que me he comprado yo.
Después me he cogido alguna cosilla más, pero para no retrasar la publicación más tiempo, ya os lo enseñaré en otro momento.

 1- Pulsera MiBand 3 de Xiaomi: Mi pulsera MiBand 1 llevaba un par de semanas sin funcionar, así que Marian me regaló ésta. Intentó comprar la misma que tiene ella, la 2, pero por lo visto, la dejan de fabricar.

 2 - Ordenador portátil HP: Mi portátil había empezado a hacer cosas raras y decidí jubilarlo antes de que fallara por completo de un día para otro sin poder salvar nada.
Mis padres me dieron una propinilla para ayudar con el gasto inesperado. Lo compré en Alcampo. Tiene procesador i5, 1 TB de disco duro y 12GB de memoria RAM. Lo que no trae es regrabadora de DVD, así que Marian (también conocida como Bricomarian) aprovechó la del portátil viejo para usarla como externa con el nuevo, al igual que con el disco duro. La batería tampoco es extraíble, cosa que no me hace especial gracia.

3 -Blazer de Desigual: Como había recibido dinero de mis padres y de mis tíos, me he dado el capricho con esta chaqueta. No tenían ni un mísero descuento, así que han sido 69 eurazos. Es de punto, espero que resista bien el paso del tiempo. Mi experiencia con marcas como Desigual y Custo no es demasiado buena en cuanto a calidad de los tejidos se refiere.

4 - Perfume DKNY 'Be Delicious - Fresh Blossoms' EdP: Aunque aún me queda como 1/3 de la que estoy usando actualmente, ésta es más adecuada para el verano. Era uno de los perfumes en oferta de la semana de Notino.
El frasco de 100 ml me salió a 29,90€, más 3,95€ de gastos de envío.

5 -  Correa metálica para Xiaomi MiBand 3: Las de silicona no suelen durar demasiado, así que es genial que fabriquen otras más duraderas. Es en tono oro rosa, como véis. Marian la pidió por Aliexpress.
Ya la he estrenado y de momento muy bien. El sensor se coloca más fácil que en la de silicona.



6 - Cuaderno para recetas de cocina: En realidad, lo compró en un mercadillo navideño, pero mientras tanto ha ido escribiendo alguna recetilla en él.

Today I want to share with you the presents I got from others for my birthday, 40 already!, as well as some stuff I bought myself.
I later got a couple more things, but I don't want to push back this post anymore, so you may see those at a later time.

1- Xiaomi MiBand 3 smartband:  My MiBand 1 had stopped working 2 weeks earlier, so Marian gave me this one. She tried to get the same model she has, the MiBand 2, but that apparently has recently gone out of production.

2 - HP laptop: My laptop had started to act funny a few times, so I decided to get a new one before the old one said 'enough' without giving me the chance to save anything.
My parents gave me some money to help deal with the unexpected expense. I bought it at Alcampo. It's got an i5 processor, a hard disk drive of 1TB and 12 GB of RAM memory.
What is missing is a DVD player and recorder combo, so Marian repurposed the old one to be used as an external one on this (same thing with the old HD). The battery in newer laptops is also integrated, which I'm not a fan of.

3 -Desigual Blazer: Since my parents and uncle had given me some money I treated myself to this blazer. They didn't have a single promotion, zilch, so it was 69 EUR. Ouch!
It's knit and I'm hoping it will pass the test of time and wear. My experience with brands like Desigual and Custo is not the best to say the least when it comes to their fabric quality.

4 -  DKNY 'Be Delicious - Fresh Blossoms' EdP: I still have 1/3 left of the scent I'm currently using, but this is better suited for the coming summer months. It was one of their 'weekly deals'. I got this 100ml bottle for 29.90 EUR plus 3.95 for shipping.

5- Metallic strap for Xiaomi MiBand 3:
Those made of silicone don't last for long, so these longer lasting ones are great.
Mine is in the rose gold shade, as you see.
Marian ordered it from AliExpress.
The sensor is easier to fit in than in silicone ones.

6- Notebook for recipes:
She actually bought it at the Christmas Street Market, but meanwhile she's been writing down a few recipes on it.
