UDLS/NOTW: Essence 'Bloom-a-loom'+Rimmel London 'Pearly Queen'.

Hola, chicas:
Aquí vengo con una nueva manicura que enseñaros. Esta vez, con una combinación de esmaltes.

Os presento a las 4 estrellas principales.

En primer lugar he aplicado la base de calcio de Basic y una vez seca, el esmalte de Essence. He esperado a que se secara. Tengo que decir en su favor que seca muy rápido. En sólo unos pocos minutos ya he podido aplicar el siguiente esmalte: el de Rimmel London.
A continuación, y con el esmalte fresco, he aplicado el top coat de Poshé, con el que por cierto, estoy encantada.

Esta manicura ha aguantado perfectamente un lavado de pelo el tercer día, al cuarto aparecieron pequeños desconchones, y me la he retirado al quinto, pues los desconchones eran ya muy evidentes.

Here I am with a new mani to show you. This time, it's a combo of two polishes.

Let me introduce the four main stars of the show for you.

First of all, I applied the calcium gel from Basic as a base, and once it's dry, the polish from Essence. I waited until it was dry. In its favour, I must say that it gets dry very fast. After just a few minutes I could apply the following polish (the Rimmel London one).
Afterwards, and with the polish underneath still wet, I applied the Poshé top coat, which I'm delighted with, by the way.

This mani has remained intact after a hair wash, on the third day; on the fourth day small chippings appeared and I decided to remove it on the fifth day, as the chippings were very noticeable.

Parecidos razonables - Reasonable lookalikes: Rimmel London 'Pearly Queen' vs. Astor 'Pearly Diadem'.

Seguro que ya echábais de menos estas entradas de parecidos razonables.
Cuando os enseñamos estos esmaltes en acción, os prometimos esta entrada, pues vimos que eran muy parecidos, si no iguales.

En el bote, veis que es exactamente el mismo color, así que yo diría que son clones exactos.
Y en la rueda... en fin, la que vea una diferencia que levante la mano.

No sé si los dos botes traen la misma cantidad, pero si no, la única diferencia que veo está en el precio, y es que el esmalte de Astor es mucho más barato (unos 2 €), mientras que el de Rimmel London creo que me costó unos 6€ más o menos.

Conclusión: Si yo hubiera visto antes el de Astor, no hubiera comprado el de Rimmel (obviamente).
Además, he estado mirando los esmaltes de Astor en el stand y tienen colores preciosísimos.
Resulta difícil elegir sólo uno.

I'm sure you have been missing these kind of posts.
When we showed you these polishes 'in action', we promised to upload this post, as we saw that they were the same shade (or almost the same).

As you can see, they're the same shade in the bottle, so I could say thay they're exact dupes.
And on the wheel..., if anybody sees any difference, please let us know.



I don't know if each bottle contains the same amount as the other one. If not, the only difference between them is the price.
The polish from Astor is much cheaper (about €2) than the Rimmel London one (about €6).

To sum up, if I had seen the polish from Astor before, I wouldn't have bought the Rimmel London one, obviously.
Besides, I've been having a look at the Astor display, and they have polishes in very beautiful shades. It's hard to choose just one.

UDLS/NOTW: Rimmel London Metal Rush #100 Pearly Queen.

Reconozco que estas últimas semanas he sido un poco vaga en cuanto a las manicuras se refiere.
Así que, para poner remedio a esta situación, aquí os enseño mi última manicura hasta el momento.

En ella utilizo este esmalte bicromático de Rimmel London, en color lila con reflejos metálicos verdosos. Se ve más un color o el otro según cómo le dé la luz.

Pensé que iba a ser un esmalte más cubriente, pero la verdad es que es bastante ligero. Aun después de haber dado dos capas, se ve todavía la parte blanca de la uña.
Aun así, tiene unos tonos preciosos.
Pienso que también puede quedar bien encima de otro esmalte de mayor cobertura.

Aquí os enseño al trío protagonista.
Esta será la última vez que veáis al Seche Vite en acción. El pobre ya no da para más y he tenido que jubilarlo.

Después de una semana y un par de pequeños desconchones en el índice de la mano derecha, decido retirarme el esmalte.
Hacía mucho que una manicura no me duraba tanto. Estoy realmente (y gratamente) sorprendida.

I recognize that I've been a bit lazy regarding manicures over the last few weeks.
So, in order to change this situation, here I am to show you my latest mani so far.

I've used this polish from Rimmel London, a duochrome in a lilac shade with green metallic reflections. You can see the two different shades depending on how the light hits on it.

I thought it was going to be more opaque, and it actually is quite sheer. Even after two coats, you still see a VNL.
All in all, the shade is beautiful.
I think it can look great over a more opaque polish (for layering).

Meet the three main stars in this mani.



This will be the last time you see Seche Vite top coat 'in action'. The poor thing was useless and the time to throw it away has eventually come.

A week and a couple of small chippings on the right index finger later, I decide to remove the polish.
It's been ages since the last time I wore such a long-lasting mani. I'm really (and pleasantly) surprised.

Compras varias acumuladas / Sundry Haul

Aquí estamos de nuevo para enseñaros las compras que hemos hecho últimamente.

Here we are again to show you the purchases we've made recently.

1 - Crema corporal con aceite de Jojoba de Deliplus (marox): Cogí este producto, una de las últimas novedades de Mercadona en mi última visita a dicho supermercado. Probé el tester en la tienda y me pareció que hidrataría bien, además de que me gustó el olor.
Hidrata bastante bien, más que las Fruit Fusion, por ejemplo. Precio: 1,90€.

2- Esmalte de secado Poshé: Aprovechando que le iba a coger uno a Marian por su cumpleaños, me pedí otro para mí. Lo compré al vendedor de Ebay nailswestcom y me costaron 7,50$ cada uno (el vendedor no hace descuento por envío combinado, pero marcó sólo la mitad del importe en la declaración de aduanas).

3- Esmalte 'Grunge Me Tender' de la EL 'Floral Grunge' de Essence: Lo tenían en Bustillo en liquidación a 1,29€ y decidí darle una oportunidad. Ya lo he usado y os lo enseñaré pronto, pero aquí os dejo un adelanto.

En una visita a Bodybell (desde que venden Essence vamos con más frecuencia que antes), nos hicimos con los siguientes productos.

4 y 5- Brillo de labios de Essence en el tono "Me & my icecream", de la línea "Stay with me" (Marian). Es un tono rosa clarito. Por el que sí nos decidimos las dos fue por el brillo de labios, también de Essence "Deep Rose". Es un tono rosado liláceo, que nos encantó. Costaron 1,29€ cada uno.

6- Lápiz de ojos resistente al agua de Essence, de la línea "Stays no matter what", en el tono "Midnight black" (Marian). Hice una pequeña prueba en la tienda, y me gustó mucho su pigmentación y textura. Costó 1,99€.



7-Sombra de ojos de Essence en el tono "Out of the blue" (Marian). Es un color azul oscuro con destellitos. Costó 1,99€.

8- Esmalte de uñas de Rimmel London, de la línea "Metal Rush" (Marian). Es un esmalte duocromo, que se ve lila o verde claro según cómo le dé la luz. Todavía no lo he estrenado, pero no tardaré en hacerlo, porque es un color que me encanta.
En Mercadona hemos visto hoy unos de Astor igualitos, pero por 1,99€. Este costó 4,99€.

Bien, pues estas han sido nuestras compras hasta el momento. Habéis comprado algo últimamente?

1- Jojoba oil Body Cream from Deliplus (marox): Grabbed this new product on my latest visit to my nearest Mercadona supermarket. I tried the tester on site and thought it was moisturising enough. I also liked the pleasing smell. 
It is quite moisturising, more than their Fruit Fusion body creams, for instance. Price: €1.90.

2- Poshé topcoat: I was going to get one for Marian's birthday, so I also ordered one for myself. Seller's name is nailswestcom and I paid USD 7.50 for each bottle -the seller does not offer any discount for combined shipping, but the items were marked half their value in the Customs Declaration form-.

3- 'Grunge Me Tender' nail polish from the Essence 'Floral Grunge' LE: Our local beauty supplies store had it on the discounted basket at €1.29, so I grabbed it. I've already worn this and will show it to you on a forthcoming post, but here's a sneak peek.

On a recent visit to Bodybell (where we go much more often since they now sell Essence), we bought the items below.

4 and 5- Essence lipgloss in the shade 'Me & my icecream', from the range 'Stay with me' (Marian). It's a light pink shade. Both Marox and I decided to buy the Essence lipgloss 'Deep Rose', in a lilac pink shade, which we loved at once. They cost €1.29 each.

6- Waterproof eyepencil from Essence, from the range 'Stays no matter what', in the shade 'Midnight Black' (Marian). I made a swatch at the store, and I liked both its pigmentation and the texture. It cost €1.99.

7- Essence eyeshadow in the shade 'Out of the blue' (Marian), in a dark blue shade with reflections. It cost €1.99.

8- Nail polish from Rimmel London, from the range 'Metal Rush' (Marian). It's a duochrome polish, with either a lilac or a light green shade, depending on how the light hits on it. I haven't used it yet, but I guess this won't take long, because I love the shade. 
We went shopping to a Mercadona supermarket today and saw a cheaper dupe from Astor, that was only €1.99. This cost €4.99.

Compras varias acumuladas / Sundry haul

Hoy os traemos una recopilación de las compras que hemos hecho últimamente. Como véis, hay de todo: compras en Mercadona, en Douglas, de Essence, etc. Podéis leer un breve comentario sobre cada uno de ellos después de la foto, en el sentido de las agujas del reloj.

Today we have a cumulated sundry haul with our latest purchases. As you can see below, there's a little bit of everything: some stuff from the Spanish supermarkets *Mercadona*, from Douglas, a couple of Essence goodies, etc. You can read a short comment about each of them after the pic, clockwise.




1- Esmaltes de Claire's en los tonos "Airforce Blue" -2,95 €- (arriba) y "Pink Holographic" -3,50 €- (abajo). Sí, ya sé que siempre decimos que en los esmaltes de Claire's no hay forma de saber qué tono es, porque todos tienen un número en lugar de un nombre, pero echad un vistazo al ticket de compra. ¡Tachán!

1- Nail polishes from Claire's in the shades 'Airforce Blue' -€ 2.95- (above) and 'Pink Holographic' - €3.50 -(below). Yes, I know that we always say that it's impossible to know about the name of these polishes, because all of them have a number instead of a name, but have a look at the ticket. Ta-dah!




2- Mascarilla de pepino de "Montagne Jeunesse", también de Claire's (y ahora Mercadona). No hemos probado ninguna de esta marca todavía, a pesar de haber leído buenas críticas en varios blogs. Precio: 1,95 € (pero al tener una oferta de 3x2, nos salió gratis).

2- Cucumber peel-off mask from 'Montagne Jeunesse', also available from Claire's (and now also Mercadona). We haven't tried anything from this brand yet, in spite of having read favorable reviews on several blogs. Price: 1.95 EUR (but they had a B2G3 and therefore got it for free).

3- Esmalte de uñas de CHICOGO (que por lo visto, es del grupo Rimmel) en el tono "Zeigeist". Los compramos en el mercadillo por... ¡1€ cada uno! Es un tono muy especial, así que no podíamos dejarlo en el puesto, y menos por ese precio.

Por cierto, que a Marian se le ha ocurrido un nuevo parecido razonable, así que permaneced atentas.

3- Nail polish from CHICOGO (which belongs to Rimmel, apparently) in the shade 'Zeigeist'. We bought them at a street market for... €1 each! It's a very special shade, so we couldn't leave them there, especially not for that price!.

Btw, Marian has come with a new idea for a 'Reasonable Lookalikes' comparison post, so stay tuned.

4- Mousse fijadora para cabello rizado de Deliplus: Marox había leído buenas opiniones de esta mousse del Mercadona para el pelo rizado, así que se vino con ella en la última visita a nuestro supermercado más cercano. Aunque le encanta la espuma de esta línea (la del bote totalmente naranja), por lo visto este producto reseca menos el pelo. Estamos deseando probarla. Precio: 2,50 €.

4- Styling Mousse for Curly Hair from Deliplus: I read some good opinions about this mousse so I grabbed it on my last visit to our nearest Mercadona supermarket. Although she loves the Deliplus styling foam (the one with the fully orange bottle), this mousse is apparently less drying. We're very eager to try it. Price: 2.50 EUR.

5- Toallitas limpiadoras de bebé de Deliplus: Muchas veces no utilizamos toallitas desmaquillantes para eliminar la mayor parte del maquillaje, sino toallitas de bebé. Nos gusta que el cierre sea rígido para evitar que se sequen. Las de Deliplus por lo general están bastante bien, aunque éstas en concreto no las hemos probado. Precio: 1,70 €.

5- Baby wipes from Deliplus: Most times we don't use makeup remover wipes but baby wipes to get rid of the bulk of our make-up at the end of the day. We like the fact that they have a hard plastic closure to prevent the wipes from drying out. The ones from Deliplus are generally quite good, though we haven't tried these ones in particular yet. Price: 1.70 EUR.

6- Limpiador facial Essence MySkin: Lo probamos gracias a María, que por cierto se ha lesionado la mano pero confiamos en que pronto esté recuperada, y como nos ha gustado para completar nuestra rutina de limpieza, pues hemos comprado para repetir. Estuvimos tentadas de probar el limpiador 4en1, quizá la próxima vez.

6- Essence MySkin Soft Cleansing Gel: We tried this thanks to María, who btw injured her left hand but hopefully will soon make a full recovery, and liked it enough to complete our daily cleansing routine that we purchased it to keep on using it. We were very tempted by the 4in1 Cleansing Cream, so who knows, maybe we'll get it next time.

7- Kit de estampación de Essence: Aprovechando que tras varios años poniéndonos los dientes largos con la promesa de traer el mueble de tratamiento en Bustillo por fin lo tienen, marox se compró el último kit. Es una lástima que no vendan sueltas las placas que han ido incluyendo en los kit (o que saquen otras nuevas, ya puestos).

7- Essence nail art Stamping set: After a couple of year's wait, our local beauty supplies store Bustillo finally decided to bring the second Essence display, the treatment/nail art one and marox could finally get her hands on the latest set. Pity Essence does not sell the plates that come with all their sets throughout the years separately (and pity they don't release new plates either).


8- Manteca corporal de mango y papaya de Douglas: Es la primera vez que compramos una de estas mantecas y aprovechando un descuento que le llegó a Marian de Douglas vía SMS nos decidimos a probarlas. Aunque no están mal de precio, si nos podemos ahorrar unas pelillas, pues mejor que mejor. *Edito: El precio normal es de 5,95€, que con el descuento del 20% se quedó en 4,76€.

8- Mango and Papaya body butter from Douglas: It's the first time we get one of these and took the plunge thanks to a discount code Marian received from Douglas in an SMS. Although the price is not bad, if we can save some cents, so much the better. *Edit: Retail price is usually 5.95 EUR, but as they had a 20% off in the store, we only paid 4.76 EUR.

UDLS/NOTW: Rimmel #877 Mania

Hoy os traigo una manicura con este esmalte de Rimmel, que tenía pendiente de estrenar desde hace mucho tiempo. Estrenarlo en mis uñas, quiero decir; no en las ruedas.

Hi again,
Today I'm showing you a mani with this polish from Rimmel, which I had 'on queue' in my untrieds for quite a long time. When I say untrieds, I mean first use on my nails; not on the wheels.

Es un esmalte precioso, de acabado metálico, que según cómo le dé la luz, se ve verde o azul.




It's a gorgeous polish, with a metallic finish, which it's seen either green or blue, depending on the light.

En esta manicura, además del esmalte, he estrenado otra cosa, y es el Nail Envy de OPI, en tamaño pequeño, que nos mandó La loca de los esmaltes, de Todos los esmaltes son pocos.
Pues bien: apliqué el Nail Envy como base, después una capa del esmalte de Rimmel (que sospecho que le tendré que echar unas gotitas de diluyente si no quiero tener que tirarlo a la basura en breve, porque está muy espeso), y como siempre, Seche Vite como top coat.

For this mani, besides of the polish, I've tried another thing for the first time, and it's the Nail Envy from OPI, the small size, which 'La loca de los esmaltes', from 'Todos los esmaltes son pocos' (All the polishes are not enough) sent us. OK, I applied Nail Envy as a base, a coat of the Rimmel polish (which I think I'll have to add some drops of thinner to if I don't want to throw it away soon, because it has become quite thick), and finally, as usual, Seche Vite as a top coat.




La aplicación de este esmalte no fue muy fácil por lo que os he comentado arriba, así que no me quedó tan bien como me hubiera gustado. Perdonad los berretes.

The application was not so easy because of the mentioned above, so it didn't look so fine as I would like. Please overlook the mess.

La duración, en este caso, no es valorable, ya que hoy acabo de lavarme el pelo y creo que no hay esmalte en el mundo que resista eso. Han sido 2 días nada más, pues me las pinté el viernes por la noche.

In this case, I cannot really comment on the lasting time, as I've just washed my hair today and I think that no polish in the world can resist this. It has been just 2 days, as I polished them on last Friday evening.

Pero bueno, ya valoraremos la duración en otra ocasión (y cuando lo haya diluido un poquito), porque este esmalte merece otra oportunidad. ¿Qué os parece?

But I'll tell you about its lasting time any other day (when I had thinned it a bit), because this polish deserves another chance. What do you think?

Mis esmaltes azules y verdes – My blue and green nail polishes (Marian).

Continuando con la serie de entradas de nuestros esmaltes por colores, hoy os enseño mis esmaltes azules y verdes (y azul verdosos y verde azulados).

Going on with the series of posts of our nail polishes by colour, today I'm showing you my blue and green ones (also greenish blue and bluish green ones).

Ahora que los veo en una lista, me doy cuenta de que más de la mitad de ellos los tengo sin estrenar, y eso no puede ser. Habrá que ponerle remedio pronto.

Now I'm seeing them on a list, I have realized that more than half of them are still untried, and that's not good at all. I'll have to put things right soon.

Cuando ya tenía todos los esmaltes “chuacheados” en la rueda, se me ocurre ir esta mañana a Bustillo (aunque la verdad es que ha sido más bien accidental; no estaba planeado), y me he comprado varios esmaltes. Entre ellos, el que veis en esta rueda en el número 18, de la colección “50's Girls Reloaded”. Lo he puesto en el número 18 y no en el 10 porque me parece que al ser de tonalidad más oscura, “pegaba” mejor.

When I had swatched all my polishes on the nailwheel, then I came with the great idea of going to Bustillo (though I actually ended up there by accident; it wasn't planned), and I've bought some polishes. One of them is on the 18^th place on this wheel, from the '50's Girls Reloaded' LE. I've put it on this place instead of the 10^th because as it's a dark colour, it fitted better.

Y cambiando de tema, ahora que marox está de vacaciones, he encontrado una nueva ayudante para hacer las fotos. ¿Qué os parece?

And changing the subject, now that marox is on holiday, I've found a new 'assistant photographer'. What do you think?
