Hola, chicas:   Antes de nada, queremos desearos unas muy Felices Fiestas.  Molly (y Pol también) se han vestido para la ocasión.     A ver si el próximo año viene lleno de cosas buenas, sobre todo de salud. Antes de terminar, os propongo algo diferente. Un curso, en formato juego, sobre cómo ventilar las estancias para unas cenas navideñas lo más seguras posible. Aquí os dejo el enlace. El curso empezó el 20 de Diciembre, y sólo estará disponible durante un mes.

Hi girls, First of all, we would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas. Mis regalos de cumpleaños - My birthday gifts.

Hola, chicas: Hace más de un mes que fue mi cumpleaños, así que me gustaría enseñaros los regalos que recibí.   Primero empezaré con los regalos de Marox.   1- CD "The Fool & The Scorpion" de Sharon Corr.  Es su tercer álbum en solitario. Contiene 10 temas (qué poquitos). Un álbum breve, pero intenso, sobre todo la canción que da título al disco. Viene en formato digipack, que no me gusta mucho, porque volver a meter el CD en su sitio es una labor harto difícil. Como yo suelo decir, entra con calzador. Trae una pequeña postal firmada. Lo compró en Amazon.Uk, aunque después vio que también lo tenían en la tienda española. 2- Fuente para gatos. Este es un regalo para Molly, obviamente. Lo estrené cuando tuve a los dos gatos (Pol y Molly) en casa. Pol no dudó en probarlo. Molly sólo lo miraba con mucha atención. Esperemos que se anime a usarlo. No hace nada de ruido. Escuchar el sonido del agua es muy relajante. Tiene un sensor de presencia, de forma que cuando el gato se acerca, empieza a funcionar la fuente. Aunque los venden en Amazon, lo compró en Aliexpress.  3- Batería externa. De un color rosita monísimo. Marox me la regaló con idea de conectarla a la fuente para gatos, sobre todo cuando la ponga a funcionar donde no tenga un enchufe cerca. La compró en *Dealz*, tienda de la familia Poundland que abrieron hace unos meses en nuestra ciudad.  Y ahora os enseño lo que me han regalado mis padres. 4- Sandalias de "El Naturalista". Compradas en una zapatería de Zamora.  Son las segundas que tengo de la marca. Las primeras tienen cerca de 10 años y ahí siguen. Son lo más cómodo que os podáis imaginar. Éstas no las he estrenado todavía, porque ya hacía un poco de frío, así que las guardaré para el próximo verano. 5- Bufanda. En tonos rosa fucsia y morado, haciendo degradado. Es súper suave. Creo que la usaré mucho este invierno.     Ahora que pienso, creo que no me he autorregalado nada, así que esto es todo. Nos vemos pronto.

Hi girls, It's been more than a month since my birthday, so I would like to show you the gifts I got. I'll start with what I got from marox. 1- "The Fool & The Scorpion" CD from  Sharon Corr.  It's her third solo album. It contains 10 songs (so few!). It's a short, but intense record, especially the title song. It comes in a digipack sleeve, which I'm not a big fan of, because getting the disc back in place is no easy feat. Like I usually say, you have to shoehorn it into the sleeve. It does come with a signed postcard. She ordered this from Amazon.Uk and then realized the Spanish store sold this edition too.      2- Water Fountain for cats. It goes without saying this present is for my cat, Molly. I used it first when I had both cats -Molly and Pol staying with me. Pol didn't hesitate to try it out. Molly merely kept an eye on it. Hopefully she'll feel intrigued enough to use it. It is extremely quiet. Listening to the sound of water running is incredibly soothing. It has a motion sensor, so it starts working as soon as you cat approaches it.  Amazon sells them, but she ordered this off Aliexpress.    3- Power Bank. In a bright neon pink, marox got this so I could power the water fountain away from an outlet.  She bought this at *Dealz*, a Poundland store that opened back home a few months ago.  And now, onto the presents I got from my parents. 4- "El Naturalista" sandals. We bought this from a local shoe shop in our hometown, Zamora. These are the second pair I've had from the brand. I still have the other one, which I got about 10 years ago. They're the most comfy sandals you can imagine. I haven't used them yet, because it was a bit cold already when I got them, so I'll save them for next summer.        5- Scarf. In gradient bright pink and purple shades. It's incredibly soft and it will probably get lots of use this winter. Now that I think of it, I don't think I treated myself to anything, so that's all. Bienvenido a la familia, Pol / Welcome to our family, Pol

Hola a tod@s:   Hoy vengo con una entrada especial, en la que me gustaría presentaros al nuevo miembro de la familia.   Como sabéis, a finales de noviembre murió de forma inesperada Luna, mi gata, con sólo 4 añitos. Lo hemos pasado muy mal y pensé que tardaríamos algo más en tener otro animal, pero unas 2 semanas después, sentí que Luna me decía que le parecía bien.   Si tenéis mascota, ya sabéis la compañía que hacen. Nosotros siempre hemos sido bastante caseros y ahora con todo el tema del coronavirus, pasamos más tiempo si cabe en casa. A mis padres especialmente Luna les hizo una compañía tremenda, sobre todo cuando yo he estado trabajando fuera.       Bueno, pues os presentamos a Pol. Lo hemos tenido en acogida desde mediados de diciembre y le hemos adoptado hace un par de semanas, gracias a la asociación *Defensa Animal Zamora*. Los animales de DAZ viven casi todos en hogares de acogida, así que están acostumbrados a convivir con otras mascotas y en muchos casos, también niños.    A Pol lo encontraron con unos 6 meses en un portal de la ciudad, sentado tan tranquilo sin inmutarse. Tras mucho preguntar, parece que no era de ningún vecino. Es la cosa más mimosa que os podáis imaginar. Es el primer gato macho que tenemos, cosa que siempre nos habían recomendado.    Para que veáis si es mimoso, el día que lo llevaron a la clínica veterinaria que colabora con la asociación sacó la cabeza del transportín y se puso a frotar su cabeza contra mi mano. No sé, pero ya cuando vi su foto en la web de la asociación me pareció un gato que encajaría con nosotros. En menos de 24 horas, se fue sentando en el regazo de todos, aunque los que más le han convencido han sido, como no el de mi madre y también el mío.   En este tiempo se ha ganado hasta un apodo, Pol Esponja, por su amor por los estropajos (y bayetas) de cocina. También ha tenido ocasión de viajar -pasamos unos días con Marian en Navidad- y de conocer a Molly. La verdad es que el primer encuentro fue algo accidentado, con Molly bufando y gruñendo como acostumbra después de un viaje y Pol asustado, llorando y bufando. Luego después ya se impuso un poco y los pocos días que pasaron juntos al menos se han tolerado.   Mandadle un saludo a Molly, que está malita con infección de orina.  Bueno, eso ha sido todo por mi parte hoy.  Pol os manda saludos, tumbado en mi cama mientras escribo esta entrada.

Hi everyone,   Today I have a very special blog post, introducing the latest addition to our family.   As you know, my beloved cat Luna died unexpectedly at only 4 years old in late November. We've had a terrible time coming to terms with her loss and I thought it would take us longer to bring in another pet, but two weeks after losing Luna I felt she gave me her permission to welcome a new one in.   If you have pets, I don't need tell you how much company they keep. We've always been homely, but due to coronavirus we're spending even longer at home. My parents especially were really thankful for the company Luna provided, especially when I've been working away from home.    Anyway, meet Pol. We fostered him in mid-December but finally adopted him a couple of weeks ago, thanks to a local association, *Defensa Animal Zamora*. The majority of the pets they have up for adoption are in foster homes, so they're used to being around other pets and sometimes even children.        Pol was found inside an apartment building when he was about 6 months old. He was sitting all quiet and unfazed by neighbours coming and going. After some asking around, it didn't belong to anyone in the building. He's the most affectionate little thing you can imagine. He's the first male cat we have, something we've been encouraged to try.   Just to give you an example of how affectionate he is, the moment he stuck his head out of the pet carrier at the vet who helps out this organization, he started rubbing his face onto my hand. I don't know, but when I saw his picture at their website, I felt he was a gentle cat that would fit our family. In less than 24 hours he was testing out our laps, though he was most satisfied with my mum's -no wonder- and also mine.   During this time he's earned his own nickname, SpongePol. Why? Because he has this strange obsession with kitchen sponges (and microfibre cloths).  He's travelled a bit too -we did spend a few days with Marian for Christmas - and has had the chance to meet Molly. Mind you, the first meeting was not what you would call friendly, with Molly hissing and grunting like she always does when she's been in the car and Pol all scared, whining and hissing too. But then, he slowly stood his ground during the few days they spent in each other's company and eventually they were able to at least tolerate one another.  Send your regards to Molly. She's come down with a urinary tract infection.   Well, that was it for me today. Pol is lying down on my bed as I'm writing this.

Ya sé que esta entrada es un poco atípica, pero al fin y al cabo, Molly es la notaria peluda de nuestros sorteos, así que no está mal que de vez en cuando le dedique una entrada.

Cuando me la regalaron tenía 2 meses y medio, y ya tiene 10 años.
¡Cómo pasa el tiempo!

Durante 7 años más o menos, ha sido la reina indiscutible, hasta que llegó Luna (su prima, como solemos decir).

No son amigas íntimas, pero por lo menos se toleran. Cuando están juntas, nos dan muchos ratos de entretenimiento, que solemos llamar "Tele Miau".

Espero que me acompañe unos cuantos años más, y que vosotras lo veáis.

I know this is a bit of an off-topic in our blog, but after Molly is the furry notary public in our giveaways, so she definitely deserves being featured every now and then here.

When they gave her to me she was only 2 and a half months old and she's now turned 10. Time does really fly!



For about 7 years she's been the undisputed queen of the place until Luna came in (her cousin, as we like to call her).
They're not the best of friends, but at least they tolerate each other. When they're together, they provide plenty of entertainment that we fondly refer to as 'Meow TV'.

I really hope she can live with me for a lot more years to come and that you'll be here to witness that.

¡Cúanto tiempo sin traeros una manicura! ¿verdad? Pues sí, a ver si ahora con el verano y las vacaciones me animo a compartir alguna manicura más. Tengo un par en el tintero, así que las iré dosificando.

En la manicura de hoy uso un esmalte de H&M del formato antiguo. Tengo ganas de visitar la nueva tienda de la marca en Burgos con Marian. Seguro que picamos con algo.

Día 1: Me aplico una capa de base de Essence, de la gama BTGN. Me aplico dos capas finitas y seguidas de ambos esmaltes. En el dedo índice de la mano izquierda doy una capa del esmalte de efecto Ombre de Catrice que vino de regalo con una revista, antes de leer que es para colores claros. Vamos bien.
No me aplico topcoat.

Día 2 (sábado): Como no me apliqué topcoat, vaga de mí, me despierto con marcas de las sábanas en las uñas que llevan el esmalte de H&M. Me las había pintado después de comer, para que os hagáis una idea.
En el pulgar derecho, se me ha ido un poco el esmalte, seguro que por tocar algo antes de tiempo o usar la uña como herramienta.

Día 5 (martes): Aunque quizá las podría apurar un poco más, me las despinto por la mañana. El esmalte del dedo anular derecho ya estaba algo saltado. 

Y os dejo con "Las Mininas", Molly y Luna. Que se chinchan la una a la otra cuando están juntas todo lo que pueden, pero cuando están separadas se buscan.
Luna se ha convertido en entrenadora personal de Molly, que en su última revisión veterinaria, ha perdido algo de peso. Será por correr delante y detrás de ella.

Hi, ladies

It's been ages since my last mani, hasn't it? Well, hopefully, the summer holidays will be a better time for me to share a few manis with you. I have drafted a couple of nail posts that I'll be posting every now and then. 

Today's mani features an old H&M polish. I'm really looking forward to checking out the new store the company has opened in Burgos with my sister. Surely we won't come out empty-handed. 

Day 1: I applied one coat of base from the Essence BTGN range. I applied two thin coats of both polishes, one after the other. On my left index finger I used one coat of a Catrice ombre topcoat that was a recent magazine freebie. That was before reading it only works with light shades. Well done, girl.
Didn't apply topcoat this time.

Day 2: The aftermath of not having used topcoat is that I wake up to sheet marks on the nails with the H&M polish. I'd painted them after lunch, so that should give you an idea of the drying time.
The polish on my right thumbnail is gone on the edge. I guess I touched something before it was fully dry or used my nail as a tool.

Day 5: Although I could have worn this a bit longer, I took the polish off in the morning. There was some chipped polish on my right ring fingernail.

And here's a pic of both Molly and Luna, aka 'The Cats-in-Waiting'. Always pestering each other when they're together and then looking for the other when they're apart.
Luna has appointed herself Molly's personal trainer and Molly lost some weight as a result in her latest vet checkup. The perks of running in front of and behind her, I guess.

The application is very pleasant, as it doesn't give a greasy feeling, and leaves your hair soft and easy to untangle; and this, on our lush curly hair mane gives it many brownie points.

En esta página podéis pedir una muestra gratuita (que fue lo que hicimos nosotras), y también consultar los puntos de venta, lo que nos ha resultado muy útil, porque acabaremos comprándolo algún día.
Evidentemente, al tratarse de una muestra (generosa), nuestra opinión se basa en una breve experiencia con este producto. Nos ha dado para usarla dos veces cada una.
Hemos podido comprobar que efectivamente lo tenían en uno de los puntos de venta de la ciudad, una perfumería IF.

Being as it is a sample -generous btw-, our opinion is merely based on a brief experience with the above mentioned product. We could use it twice each.

The Christmas photoshoot features Molly, as it was completely impossible to get Luna put a costume on. She ruined the hat in no time and the cape is too big for her.

Nonetheless you can still see her together with Molly when the latter was visiting. Hope you enjoy them in motion, being their naughtiest selves.

Un nuevo miembro en la familia - A new member in our family.

En esta ocasión, os queremos presentar a alguien muy especial.
Es un nuevo miembro (peludo) en nuestra familia.

Es una preciosa gatita llamada Luna (sí, ya sé que hemos sido muy originales con el nombre). Nació el 12 de Julio.

Seguramente os estaréis preguntando por Molly. Pues a sus 7 años, sigue divina y estupenda, con un pelazo precioso.

¿Qué tal se llevan? Pues cuando se acercan demasiado la una a la otra, se bufan, pero de momento, la cosa no ha pasado a mayores.
Digamos que el tiempo que han coincidido juntas, su relación es "ni contigo ni sin ti".

This time, we'd like to introduce you a new (and furry) member of our family.

It's a beautiful kitty called Luna (a very 'original' name, as there are tons of female dogs and cats with this name).
She was born on July 12th.

You'll probably be wondering about Molly.
Well, at her 7 years of age, she's perfect, and as fluffy as usual.




How do they get on?
When the two of them are really close, they hiss to each other. But there's nothing to worry about at the moment.
During the time they've spent together, their relationship could be described as "neither with you, nor without you".

Mis tiendas favoritas de productos para mascotas / My favourite online pet products stores.

Seguro que muchas de vosotras tendréis mascota. Pues bien, hoy os voy a hablar de dónde compro para Molly.

Al principio de tener a Molly compraba su comida en tiendas físicas, pero sobre todo la comida húmeda era bastante monótona.
Siempre las mismas albóndigas de color rosado, aunque las compraras supuestamente de pescado blanco.

Así que decidí mirar en Internet a ver qué encontraba.
En una red social para gatos en la que apunté a Molly (sí, soy así de friki), venía publicidad de Zooplus, así que me decidí a mirar ahí.
La verdad es que fue todo un acierto.
Piensos y comida húmeda de una gran variedad de marcas, algunas de las cuales no se encuentran en España, de gran calidad.
¿El precio? Obviamente más caro de lo que podéis encontrar en tienda física (la diferencia de calidad hay que pagarla), pero más barato que si compráis la comida en la clínica veterinaria. Además, suelen tener ofertas con bastante frecuencia.
Molly está encantada, como podéis ver en esta foto.

Los gastos de envío son gratis a partir de 39€. Los envíos ahora los hace Correos.
Hace tiempo los mandaba Seur. Me suelen tardar en llegar unos 4 días, aproximadamente.

¿El fallo de Zooplus? Pues que no venden productos para desparasitación interna.
Siempre tenía que ir al veterinario.
Hasta que descubrí Tiendaanimalesonline, donde venden este tipo de productos. También venden pienso y comida húmeda, pero esto lo pido siempre a Zooplus.
Hay que hacer un pedido mínimo de 29 euros.
El envío llega en unos 3 días por agencia (creo que MRW).
Lo último que le he comprado en Tiendaanimalesonline ha sido esto que veis.

Esto ha sido todo por ahora.

I'm sure many of you have a pet and that's why today I'll be telling you about the pet supplies stores I get stuff for Molly.

Shortly after getting Molly I used to buy her food in brick and mortar stores and I particularly noticed how average and samey wet cat food was. No matter the ingredients, it was always the same rosy colour, even if it was white fish.

I therefore decided to try the Internet and see what I could find.
I joined a social network for cats (yes, I'm such a freak) and there were several adds for Zooplus, so I checked it out.
It turned out to be a wise move, since they had a wide range of dry and wet cat food. Stuff from brands that cannot be found in Spain and that were really great quality.
The price? It was obviously more expensive than what you can find in most supermarkets but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Prices were lower for those brands you can buy at the vet's and they often have special offers on all products.
Molly is delighted with her food, as you can see in this pic.

Shipping costs are free for orders over €39. Delivery was done in the past by Seur, one of Spain's leading delivery companies and is now done by the Spanish post office. Shipping usually takes around 4 days.

The only con? The fact that they don't sell deworming products. I always had to go to the vet's to get them.
Well, that was until I discovered another store, Tiendaanimalesonline, where these are available.
They also carry wet and dry food, but I always order those from Zooplus.
Your order has to be for a minimum of €29.
Shipping takes 3 days approximately and is carried out by a delivery company (MRW, I believe).

UDLS / NOTW: Isadora 731 Silver Sky.

Aquí estoy de nuevo, para enseñaros mi última manicura hasta ahora.

Día 1: Aplico una capa de la base de Essence BTGN. Cuando seca, una capa generosa de este esmalte. El pincel desde luego es lo que anuncia la marca: ancho, ancho, tanto que cubre la uña prácticamente de una pasada. Cuando ha secado un poquito, añado una capa del top coat de Essence de la misma gama.



Día 5: Me lo quito ya que el día anterior al lavarme el pelo se empezó a desconchar el esmalte. Algunas de las fotos que acompañan este post están hechas poco antes de quitármelo.

La verdad es que este primer coqueteo con los esmaltes de la marca Isadora ha sido muy, muy positivo. Rara vez me dura tanto un esmalte puesto. El pincel me ha parecido cómodo y rápido.
No descarto probar alguno más si los encuentro a buen precio. Este esmalte lo compré en Suecia, en la sección de cosmética de los almacenes Ahlens, dentro de unas cajas con productos rebajados. Me costó 29 coronas (3,21 €).

It's time for me to share with you my latest mani so far.

Day 1: I applied a coat of the Essence BTGN base sealer. Once dry, I added a generous coat of this lacquer. The brush is definitely what the brand claims: very, very wide, enough to cover your nails in one swipe. A couple of minutes later I applied a coat of the Essence top sealer from the same range.



Day 5:  I removed the polish, as it had started to chip the day before after washing my hair. Some of the photos in this post were taken shortly before removal.



The truth is that I'm extremely pleased with my first Isadora nail polish, especially as far lasting power is concerned. I can seldom wear a polish for so long in decent condition. As for the brush, it was very convenient and easy to work with.
I don't rule out trying more polishes from Isadora, as long as I find them on sale.
I purchased this at the beauty hall of an Ahlens department store outlet. I paid 29 SEK for this (3.21 EUR).

Hazlo tú / DIY: Exfoliante facial para piel grasa / Face scrub for oily skin.

Como veis, aquí os traigo otra recetilla cosmética casera que he probado últimamente: un exfoliante facial para piel grasa.
La encontré en el blog *Organicus*.
Lo que más me gusta de esta receta es que no hacen falta ingredientes raros: son cosas que normalmente tenemos en casa; y si no, son muy fáciles de encontrar.

Ingredientes:

*3 cucharadas de bicarbonato sódico.
*1 cucharada de canela en polvo.
*1 cucharada de miel.
*1 cucharada de agua destilada o floral (yo usé infusión de manzanilla).

Se mezclan todos los ingredientes y se hace una pasta. Se aplica circularmente sobre la piel.
Dejar actuar durante 5 minutos, y después aclarar con agua templada.

La piel queda muuuy suave. Os aseguro que merece la pena probarla.

Hi girls,
As you can see, here I am again with a new homemade cosmetics recipe that I've tried lately: a face scrub for oily skin.
I found it in the blog *Organicus*.
What I like the most about this recipe is that there are no strange ingredients: these are things that we usually have around at home, and if not, they are easy to find.

Ingredients:

*3 tablespoons of baking soda.
*1 tablespoon of cinnamon (ground).
*1 tablespoon of honey.
*1 tablespoon of either distilled or floral water (I used chamomile tea).


Mix all the ingredients until you get a pasty consistency. Apply on your face with circular motions.
Leave it on for about 5 minutes, and after that, rinse with lukewarm water.

It leaves the skin veeryyy soft. I assure you that it is worth a try. Want to give it a go?

UDLS / NOTW: Manicura navideña - Xmas mani

Hacía tiempo que no os traía una manicura. No se trata de ningún esmalte nuevo, sino de una combinación de esmaltes que me pareció adecuada para estas fiestas.

En las fotos, llevo una capa de la base 'Nail Envy' de OPI, seguida de dos capas del esmalte #51 de RivaldeLoop (comprado en una droguería Rossmann de Berlín). Cuando estuvo lo suficientemente seco, apliqué una capa generosa del esmalte de efectos #67 'Make it Golden' de los antiguos Colour&Go de Essence, en todas las uñas salvo las anulares, donde había aplicado una capa generosa del 'Midnight Kiss' de China Glaze. Para prolongar la duración de la manicura, apliqué una capa del esmalte de acabado Poshé. No me puedo quejar de la duración de esta manicura, ya que me duró más de cuatro días, fregando, limpiando y demás.

It's been a while since my last mani. I don't have any new lacquers to show, but rather a combo of polishes that I thought would look great together in this holiday season.



In the pics, I'm wearing a coat of the 'Nail Envy' by OPI basecoat, followed by two of the #51 RivaldeLoop polish that I bought at a Rossmann discount drugstore in Berlin. Once it was dry enough, I added a generous layer of the Essence glitter #67 'Make it Golden' from their now discontinued old range of Colour & Go polishes. I applied that in all nails except for my ring fingernails, which were painted with a generous layer of the China Glaze 'Midnight Kiss' lacquer.
To extend the wear of this mani, I topped it with some Poshé topcoat. I don't have anything bad to say about the lasting time of this mani, more than four days, doing the washing up, cleaning and that kind of stuff.
