PDLS / POTW - Opi 'A Little Guilt Under the Kilt'

Hola chicas:   Ya falta menos para la primavera. Por aquí hemos tenido algún día muy agradable, pero mejor no confiarse, que todavía tiene que venir frío. Ya hace un año del confinamiento, y aunque alguna gente ya se ha vacunado, no podemos bajar la guardia.     Hoy me gustaría compartir con vosotras una pedicura usando un esmalte de la colección de Escocia que compré en Primaprix a finales de otoño. Aunque no me suelen durar demasiado los esmaltes de esta marca, como lo he usado en los pies en esta ocasión no es un problema.     Como siempre, utilicé una capa de base y rematé con una de topcoat, puesto que algunos esmaltes al secar pierden algo de brillo. Como esperaba, la duración al tratarse de una pedicura fue buena.    ¿Tenéis ganas de que llegue la primavera? ¿Y de poneros la vacuna? Contadnos en los comentarios.

Hi girls,   Spring will soon be here, and we've already had some warm weather, though we're still expecting cold weather here, so let's not be reckless. It's also been a year since lockdown and although some folks have had their Covid shots, we mustn't lower our guard.   Today I'd like to share with you a pedi using one of the polishes from the Scotland OPI nail polish collection, which I bought in late autumn from a local discount supermarket, Primaprix. Although I have mixed feelings regarding this brand, since I was going to use that on a pedi, short wear time wasn't a big deal.        As always, I used both a base and a topcoat, as some polishes lose some shine when dry. Productos Terminados / 'Finito' Products 2021 (I).

Hola, chicas: Aquí estamos de nuevo para enseñaros los productos que hemos terminado últimamente. 1- Mascarilla de arcilla azul de Sephora (Marian). Me ha encantado este formato. Se aprovecha muchísimo. Pone que da para 4 usos, pero yo he tenido para muchísimos más. ¿Quizá 40? No sé si tantos, pero desde luego bastantes más de 4. 2- Mascarilla de miel de manuka de Sephora (Marian). Es una mascarilla de tisú, que viene impregnada de sérum. Con este tipo de mascarillas me suelen salir granos después; con ésta sólo me brillaba un poco la frente, así que fenomenal. Después, he estado usando el sérum una vez a la semana tras mi rutina de limpieza. Como véis en la foto, Molly no se pudo aguantar las ganas de olisquear y ver qué me traía entre manos. 3 - Espuma ducha de Rituals Hammam Delight, con eucalipto y romero (marox): Vino hace un montón de tiempo con alguna revista. Me ha durado mucho porque la teníamos en nuestra otra casa. Las colaboraciones que la marca hace con las revistas españolas son una buena oportunidad de hacerse con ellas. Me gustan, pero creo que no pagaría el precio de venta habiendo opciones agradables que cunden más. Tengo aquí al menos otra diferente para usar.  4 - Bálsamo labial Biocura - Aldi: Son nuestros bálsamos favoritos, por precio y calidad. Vienen en un paquete de 3 y creo que cuestan 2 euros. Dependiendo de la época, tienen una gama estándar o algún 'sabor' como miel, granada... Siempre que vamos a Aldi, que no es muy a menudo, compramos. Son ideales para llevar en el bolso, tener por casa, etc. Estos han sido nuestros terminados por ahora. ¿Habéis probado alguno? Contadnos abajo, en los comentarios. Hasta pronto.

Hi girls, Here we are again to show you our latest 'empties'. 1- Blue clay mask from Sephora (Marian). I love this kind of packaging, because you can make the most of it.  In theory, this is supposed to be used up to 4 times, but I got a lot more uses than that. Maybe 40? Well, maybe not that much, but way more than just 4. 2- Manuka honey mask from Sephora (Marian).   It's a sheet mask that comes drenched in essence. With these masks, I usually break out afterwards. but with this one my forehead only got a bit shiny, so great. I've been using the leftover essence once a week after my cleansing routine. As you can tell from the pic, Molly couldn't help herself and had to sniff out and see what I was up to.  3 - Hammam Delight Rituals Shower Foam with eucalyptus and rosemary (marox): This was an old magazine freebie it's taken me really long to use up because it was in our second home. Brands teaming up with beauty magazines are a great chance to get your hands on splurge items such as these. I like them, but I wouldn't pay the retail price for them, considering there are other spa-like options that are more affordable and that will give you more uses.   I still have at least one more Rituals shower foam to use here.   4 - Biocura - Aldi Lipbalm: These are our favourite balms, price and quality wise. They come in a pack of 3 and I believe they retail at €2. Depending on the season, you may get a standard selection or find other scents like honey and pomegranate. Every time we go to Aldi -not that often- we always get some. They're excellent to carry around in your bag, have at home, etc. These have been our 'empties' so far. Have you tried any? Bienvenido a la familia, Pol / Welcome to our family, Pol

Hola a tod@s:   Hoy vengo con una entrada especial, en la que me gustaría presentaros al nuevo miembro de la familia.   Como sabéis, a finales de noviembre murió de forma inesperada Luna, mi gata, con sólo 4 añitos. Lo hemos pasado muy mal y pensé que tardaríamos algo más en tener otro animal, pero unas 2 semanas después, sentí que Luna me decía que le parecía bien.   Si tenéis mascota, ya sabéis la compañía que hacen. Nosotros siempre hemos sido bastante caseros y ahora con todo el tema del coronavirus, pasamos más tiempo si cabe en casa. A mis padres especialmente Luna les hizo una compañía tremenda, sobre todo cuando yo he estado trabajando fuera.       Bueno, pues os presentamos a Pol. Lo hemos tenido en acogida desde mediados de diciembre y le hemos adoptado hace un par de semanas, gracias a la asociación *Defensa Animal Zamora*. Los animales de DAZ viven casi todos en hogares de acogida, así que están acostumbrados a convivir con otras mascotas y en muchos casos, también niños.    A Pol lo encontraron con unos 6 meses en un portal de la ciudad, sentado tan tranquilo sin inmutarse. Tras mucho preguntar, parece que no era de ningún vecino. Es la cosa más mimosa que os podáis imaginar. Es el primer gato macho que tenemos, cosa que siempre nos habían recomendado.    Para que veáis si es mimoso, el día que lo llevaron a la clínica veterinaria que colabora con la asociación sacó la cabeza del transportín y se puso a frotar su cabeza contra mi mano. No sé, pero ya cuando vi su foto en la web de la asociación me pareció un gato que encajaría con nosotros. En menos de 24 horas, se fue sentando en el regazo de todos, aunque los que más le han convencido han sido, como no el de mi madre y también el mío.   En este tiempo se ha ganado hasta un apodo, Pol Esponja, por su amor por los estropajos (y bayetas) de cocina. También ha tenido ocasión de viajar -pasamos unos días con Marian en Navidad- y de conocer a Molly. La verdad es que el primer encuentro fue algo accidentado, con Molly bufando y gruñendo como acostumbra después de un viaje y Pol asustado, llorando y bufando. Luego después ya se impuso un poco y los pocos días que pasaron juntos al menos se han tolerado.   Mandadle un saludo a Molly, que está malita con infección de orina.  Bueno, eso ha sido todo por mi parte hoy.  Pol os manda saludos, tumbado en mi cama mientras escribo esta entrada.

Hi everyone,   Today I have a very special blog post, introducing the latest addition to our family.   As you know, my beloved cat Luna died unexpectedly at only 4 years old in late November. We've had a terrible time coming to terms with her loss and I thought it would take us longer to bring in another pet, but two weeks after losing Luna I felt she gave me her permission to welcome a new one in.   If you have pets, I don't need tell you how much company they keep. We've always been homely, but due to coronavirus we're spending even longer at home. My parents especially were really thankful for the company Luna provided, especially when I've been working away from home.    Anyway, meet Pol. We fostered him in mid-December but finally adopted him a couple of weeks ago, thanks to a local association, *Defensa Animal Zamora*. The majority of the pets they have up for adoption are in foster homes, so they're used to being around other pets and sometimes even children.        Pol was found inside an apartment building when he was about 6 months old. He was sitting all quiet and unfazed by neighbours coming and going. After some asking around, it didn't belong to anyone in the building. He's the most affectionate little thing you can imagine. He's the first male cat we have, something we've been encouraged to try.   Just to give you an example of how affectionate he is, the moment he stuck his head out of the pet carrier at the vet who helps out this organization, he started rubbing his face onto my hand. I don't know, but when I saw his picture at their website, I felt he was a gentle cat that would fit our family. In less than 24 hours he was testing out our laps, though he was most satisfied with my mum's -no wonder- and also mine.   During this time he's earned his own nickname, SpongePol. Why? Because he has this strange obsession with kitchen sponges (and microfibre cloths).  He's travelled a bit too -we did spend a few days with Marian for Christmas - and has had the chance to meet Molly. Mind you, the first meeting was not what you would call friendly, with Molly hissing and grunting like she always does when she's been in the car and Pol all scared, whining and hissing too. But then, he slowly stood his ground during the few days they spent in each other's company and eventually they were able to at least tolerate one another.  Send your regards to Molly. She's come down with a urinary tract infection.   Well, that was it for me today. Pol is lying down on my bed as I'm writing this.

Mis regalos y autorregalos de Navidad 2020 - My Christmas gifts and gifts-to-self 2020.

Hola, chicas:   Como viene siendo habitual por estas fechas, os enseñamos nuestros regalos de Navidad. Como este año ha sido tan raro y no sabíamos si se podría viajar para esas fechas, nos los hemos mandado por correo, en lugar de dárnoslos en persona.   Como ya os ha dicho Marox, nuestros padres nos han dado dinero (y bastante), para que nos compremos lo que queramos.   A continuación, os enseño los regalos que me ha hecho Marox.   1- Libro "101 Consejos de Fotografía Digital. Los secretos de los mejores fotógrafos del mundo". Ya sabéis que Marox tiene un olfato especial para los regalos, y acierta siempre. Y esta ocasión no ha sido diferente. Ya he empezado a leerlo, y a pesar de tener la letra pequeñita, se lee muy bien. Quizá es pasión de fotógrafa aficionada. No es un libro completamente teórico, sino que pone muchos ejemplos que ocurren en la vida, cosa que me gusta. Eso lo hace mucho más ameno de leer.     2- Android Box Pendoo X11 Pro. Este regalo ha sido una sorpresa. La verdad es que no me lo esperaba. Todavía tengo que salsear con alguna aplicación para ver TV en streaming.      Y ahora vamos con mis autorregalos. 3- Samsung Galaxy Tab A. Llevaba ya unos cinco o seis años con la otra (también Samsung), y aunque todavía funciona, iba ya un poco lenta. Así que antes de que se estropeara del todo, me compré ésta. La pantalla es de 8", igual que la otra. Marox me dio el chivatazo de una superoferta en Amazon, así que no la dejé escapar. Me costó 120€.     4- Funda para la tablet. En esta ocasión, pedí no solo la funda, sino también el protector de cristal templado. Como sabéis, nos gusta tener nuestros dispositivos bien protegidos. Estos han sido mis regalos de esta Navidad. Yo creo que no han estado nada mal. Hasta pronto.

Hi girls,   As usual at this time of year, we're showing you our Christmas gifts. As this year has been so weird and we didn't know if we could travel during those days to see the family, we've sent the gifts instead of giving them to each other.   As Marox pointed out already, our parents gave us money (a lot, actually), so we could get whatever we wanted ourselves.   Let me start we the gifts I got from Marox.   1- '101 Digital Photography Tips. The secrets of the world's best photographers.' You know that Marox has an eye for presents and she always nails them. This was no exception. I started reading it, and despite the small print, it is a good read. Though I'm a keen photographer, you know. It isn't all about theory, as it contains practical advice based on real-life experience, which I love. It makes it more entertaining to read. 2 - Pendoo X11 Pro Android Box. This gift has been a surprise. I didn't expect it. I still have to try some apps to watch TV in streaming.   Now let's take a look to my gifts to self. 3- Samsung Galaxy Tab A. I've had the old one (also Samsung) for five or six years, and though it still works, it's a bit 'lazy' launching apps. So I decided to buy a new one before it broke down. The screen size is 8", like the old one. Marox told me about a mega offer at Amazon, so I couldn't help buying it. I paid €120 for it.   4- A protective case for the tablet. This time I ordered both the case and the tempered glass protector. As you know, we like having all our devices well protected.     Well, these have been my Christmas gifts. Mis regalos y autoregalos de Navidad - My Christmas gifts and gifts-to-self (2020)

¿Qué tal lleváis este temporal de frío? Espero que Filomena no haya causado demasiado trastorno en vuestras ciudades. Aquí ha nevado lo suyo, cosa que no suele suceder muy a menudo y también llevamos varios días con mucha cencellada. En este año tan raro y malo para muchos que hemos dejado atrás hace poco, hemos pasado - y pasaremos - más tiempo en casa que nunca, disfrutando de la compañía de la familia y dedicándolo al entretenimiento más de lo habitual.   Comienzo con los regalos que recibí de mi hermana:   1 - Trilogía de Millennium (películas basadas en la trilogía de Stieg Larsson) en Bluray: Aunque teníamos reproductor de BluRay en Burgos, lo cierto es que no teníamos ninguna película en este formato y ahora que lo pienso, casi ni en DVD.  Descubrí *Wallapop* recientemente y me autoregalé un reproductor para mi habitación de Zamora y claro, había que probarlo en condiciones.   Creo que Marian las compró por Ebay, todas al mismo vendedor que me las envió directamente a mí. Venían perfectamente precintadas, aunque en la imagen hay una ya sin el precinto.       Mis padres me dieron dinero -han sido súper generosos este año- y me he dado unos cuantos caprichos (y conociéndome, quizá caiga alguna cosa más). En mi defensa, debo decir que también vendí un artículo en Wallapop bastante bien y que tenía saldo de Paypal del cashback de mis compras online.    Sin más dilación, unas cositas de música:   2 - CD 'Gammal kärlek rostar aldrig' de Per Gessle, y libro sobre la mayoría de letras que ha escrito, en su edición en inglés, adquirido en *Bengans*.  Como véis, el libro es bien gordote. El Cd -su 13º disco en solitario- incluye temas nuevos creados para este disco, pero otros son bastante antiguos a los que le ha dado otro toque.  Por cierto, que ya ha anunciado nuevo disco con un concierto acústico que dió hace poco, televisado, cumpliendo las distancias impuestas por el coronavirus. Está visto que este buen hombre está empeñado en hacer que afloje la cartera. 3 - CD 'Bag of Trix' de Roxette: Lo compré en Amazon, que lo puso a muy buen precio en preventa, aunque desde el día 11 de diciembre que salió a la venta no lo recibí hasta el 22. En parte porque sospecho que han atendido antes los pedidos de Alemania, etc, que los de España. Ejem. La versión en CD son 3 cds, mientras que la edición en vinilo trae 4, pero era una pasada de cara.  Se nota que los vinilos se han puesto de moda y las discográficas se están forrando y se aprovechan.      4 - Película 'Intocable' en BluRay: Nos gustó mucho en su día y así la podemos ver de vez en cuando si nos apetece. La compré por Wallapop, aprovechando que un día pusieron los gastos de envío al 50%. Me salió por unos 8 euros, ya con el envío.  5 - 'Pretty Woman' en BluRay: Solemos verla cuando la ponen por la tele, así que mejor tenerla 'en propiedad' para verla sin anuncios y a la hora que queramos. La compré por Ebay genial de precio, por 4,50€, con envío gratis al vendedor *pop.fiction*.  6 - Trilogía de Bridget Jones en Bluray: Me salió tirada de precio en Amazon, 10.49€. Antes de comprarla, hice una comprobación en camelcamelcamel y nunca había estado más barata.       7 - Edición de coleccionistas de 'Dirty Dancing' en Bluray: Al igual que la anterior, comprobé el histórico de precio y era el más bajo, así que por 15€ se vino conmigo. Tengo algunos paquetes 'en tránsito'. A decir verdad, algunas de mis últimas compras están gafadas: un paquete de Amazon España que fue entregado en un 'lugar seguro' y han sido incapaces de decirme dónde lo han dejado; otro de Amazon del Reino Unido que viene de Australia que han tenido que reenviar porque aún no había sido escaneado pasadas 3 semanas... y otro de Amazon España para mi madre que aparte del retraso por el temporal, lo han mandado por error a otro transportista... a Barcelona.  Lo sé, problemas del primer mundo. How are you coping with *Storm Filomena*? I hope this cold snap hasn't caused much disruption where you live. Here, it has snowed for a few days -a rare occurence- and we've been having freezing frog pretty much non-stop for a few days. This year so weird and bad we recently left behind has made us spend a lot more time than ever at home and in the company of our loved ones. We've also devoted more of our free time to different entertainment options.   I'll start with the presents I got from my sister:   1 - Millennium trilogy (films based on the Stieg Larsson novels) on BluRay: The truth is we do have a BluRay player in Burgos, but we had no films in this format -nor much in DVD either, for that matter. I recently discovered *Wallapop*, a popular second-hand website in Spain, and treated myself to a player for my bedroom in Zamora. And I had to test that properly, you see.   I believe Marian got these off Ebay from the same seller, who shipped them directly to me. They were sealed, though in the picture one of them does no longer have said seal.   My parents gave me some money -they were really generous this year- and thus I've treated myself to some stuff I had my eye on -and knowing myself, more may come. In my defense, I must say I also sold an item on Wallapop for a great price plus I had some Paypal balance from the cashback I get from online purchases.       2 - 'Gammal kärlek rostar aldrig' (= Old love never rusts / dies) CD album by Per Gessle and English edition of the book about most of the lyrics he's written in English, which I ordered from *Bengans*. As you see, the book is quite heavy. The CD -his 13th solo album- includes both songs written and recorded for this album, as well as much older ones given new arrangements. By the way, he recently announced a new release, an unplugged concert that was broadcast live, respecting social distancing imposed by Covid19. It seems this guy is intent on me spending my hard-earned money.  3 - 'Bag of Trix' Cd from Roxette: I got this from Amazon, which had it at a great price while it was still on pre-order. Mind you, it's taken a long time for them to ship. It was released on December 11th, but I didn't get my copy until December 22nd. In part because I suspect they've given priority to orders from Germany and other countries before Spain. Erm.  The CD release comes with 3 discs, whereas the vinyl one has 4, but it was outrageously expensive, imo. It's evident that vinyls are back on trend and record companies are making the most of it and trick you out of your money accordingly.     4 - 'Untouchable' BluRay: We really enjoyed this French film when we first saw it, so why not enjoy it whenever we feel like it. I got this second-hand from Wallapop, on a day when they had 50% off shipping, for about €8 total.  5 - 'Pretty Woman' BluRay: We usually watch this whenever it is on TV, so we'd better have this 'in ownership'. I got this off Ebay really affordable, for only €4.50 including shipping from a Spanish seller.     6 - Bridget Jones Trilogy on Bluray: It was a steal at Amazon.es, only €10.49. Before ordering, I ran a search on camelcamelcamel and it had never been cheaper.  7-  'Dirty Dancing' Collector's Edition on Bluray: Just like with the previous item, I did a quick price tracking and it was at its lowest, so for just €15 I didn't even think about it. I do have some some pending packages that are 'in transit'. Truth be told, some of my latest orders seem to be jinxed: one from Amazon Spain that was delivered to a 'safe location' they were unable to determine; another one from Amazon UK that comes all the way from Australia that has had to be resent because it hadn't been scanned in the course of 3 weeks... and then another from Amazon Spain for my mum that is delayed to the storm and has been sent to another freight carrier by mistake... to Barcelona.  I know... first-world problems. Hola, chicas:   Otro año más, desde este humilde blog queremos desearos una Feliz Navidad, aunque este año sabemos que será distinta para todos, y no tan feliz para algunos.      Como siempre, nuestra Molly se ha vestido para la ocasión, para desearos lo mejor para estas fiestas, y sobre todo, para el nuevo año que está a punto de comenzar.

Mousse de limón - Lemon mousse.

Hola, chicas: Hacía mucho tiempo que no compartía una receta en el blog.   Yo la he hecho con Thermomix, pero no es necesario. Podéis utilizar una batidora de vaso, o incluso de brazo, que es lo que utiliza una prima nuestra, que nos llevó unos para que los probáramos.   Sin más dilación, aquí tenéis los ingredientes.   *370 gr de leche condensada. *3 yogures naturales o de limón (yo los he usado naturales). *zumo de 2 limones grandes.   Se introducen todos los ingredientes en el vaso del Thermomix (o de la batidora/robot de cocina  que utilicéis), y se bate durante un par de minutos a velocidad 5.   Se vierte en tarritos individuales, y a enfriar.     Fácil, ¿verdad? Pues animaos. Ya me contaréis.

Hi girls, It's been a while since the last recipe I shared with you.   I've made them with Thermomix, but you can use a  stand mixer or a stick blender, which is what our cousin used when she made some for us to try.   Without further ado, here are the ingredients.   *370 gr of condensed milk. *3 natural yoghurts, or lemon-flavoured ones (I used natural yoghurt). *the juice of two large lemons.   Pour all ingredients into the Thermomix bowl (or the blender you use) and mix all for a couple of minutes, on speed 5 (on Thermomix).   Pour the mixture into individual jars, and put them in the fridge.   It's easy, isn't it?
