PDLS / POTW: Skeyndor & RivaldeLoop - Pedicura bicolor / Two-colour pedi

Hola a todas:

Si digo que hace cosa de un año que no me pintaba las uñas de los pies, podéis creerme. Entre la psoriasis ungueal, el frío y la falta de tiempo, pues he tenido mis pinreles un poco abandonados. 

En la foto podéis apreciar que utilicé dos tonos bien distintos en esta pedicura. El de Skeydor lo vistéis hace poco en una manicura y el de RivaldeLoop es uno de mis favoritos, que lo mismo vale para un roto que para un descosido.
Al ser una pedicura, he podido lucirla durante bastante tiempo y quizá podría haberla apurado algo más, aunque me apetecía cambiar.

If I told you it's been about a year since I last gave myself a pedi, you'd better believe me. Between my nail psoriasis, the cold and the general lack of time, I've pretty much ditched most forms of pampering, one's one feet included.

As shown in the pic, I used two very different shades for this pedi. The Skeyndor one featured in a recent mani and RivalDeLoop's taupe polish is one of my faves, a true all-rounder.
Like any pedi, you can sport this for quite some time before taking it off. I could have stretched it even further, but I felt like a change, though.

Libros / Books: "El secreto" / 'The Secret' - Rhonda Byrne.

Como os comenté en mi última reseña bibliográfica, el libro que iba a leer a continuación y del que os hablo ahora, no tenía nada que ver con los anteriores.

He tardado poquísimo en leerlo (lo que es raro en mí, jeje).

Trata del poder del pensamiento positivo, y cómo podemos aplicar éste a todas las facetas de nuestra vida: salud, trabajo, relaciones...
Sobre todo, hace mucho hincapié en la Ley de la Atracción. Todo aquello que pensemos lo atraeremos hacia nosotros: tanto lo positivo como lo negativo.
Esto casi se podría resumir como: "Ten cuidado con lo que piensas".

Casi podría calificarse como un libro de auto-ayuda, pues todo el mundo puede aprovecharse de las enseñanzas de este libro.
Nunca es tarde para cambiar nuestra forma de pensar y sentir.

As I mentioned in my latest book review, the book I'd be reading next, i.e, the one I'm reviewing today, had nothing to do with the previous ones.

Reading this took me no time at all, which is really unusual in me.

It's about positive thinking and how we can apply that onto every aspect of our lives: our health, work, relationships...
It mainly emphasizes the Law of Attraction. Whatever we're thinking of we'll bring it upon us: both positive and negative thoughts.
It could be something like: 'Be careful with your thoughts'.

Maybe it could be considered as a self-help book, as everyone can make the most of what this book teaches.
It's never too late to change our way of thinking and feeling.

UDLS / NOTW: Skeyndor #310

Hacía siglos que no os traía una manicura, básicamente porque últimamente no me he pintado demasiado las uñas.
El esmalte que os muestro hoy lo compré en el *mercadillo* hace unos meses. Nunca había probado nada de esta marca. 

Día 1: Aplico una capa de base de Essence, de la gama BTGN, que ya va estando un poco espesa. Después, aplico una capa generosa de este esmalte, que cubre bastante bien. Lo dejo secar un poco y aplico una capa de topcoat de Debby.
Al secar, observo que en algunas uñas aparecen como unas burbujitas. No sé si sera por el topcoat, la base o qué. Una pena, porque por lo demás el esmalte es muy bonito y los brillitos que se aprecian en el bote sí se notan en la uña, cosa que no siempre sucede.
Tendré que probar con otras bases y esmaltes de acabado a ver si no salen esas molestas burbujas.

Hi there!

It's been ages since I last posted a mani. Basically, because I haven't polished my nails much lately. 
Today's polish was featured in a *recent Street Market Haul* and is my first experience with this brand. 

Day 1: I apply a coat of basecoat from the Essence BTGN line, which by now is getting too thick for my liking. After that, I apply a generous coat of this polish which has good coverage, btw. I let it dry for a few minutes and then applied a layer of topcoat from Debby.
As it dries, I notice some bubbles forming up. I don't know if it's the base, topcoat or what. It's a real shame, because were it not for that the polish is really pretty, with the fine glitter in the bottle really making it to the nails, an oddity.
I'll definitely have to try using this polish with different base and topcoat combinations to see if those nasty bubbles show or not.

I don't recall how long I wore this for, though I'd say 4 days. Love the shade, hate the bubbles.

No recuerdo bien cuánto tiempo me duró, pero creo que fueron unos cuatro días. El tono me ha encantado, aunque lo de las burbujitas es una faena.

UDLS / NOTW: HM + Lumene

Hola, chicas.

¡Cúanto tiempo sin traeros una manicura! ¿verdad? Pues sí, a ver si ahora con el verano y las vacaciones me animo a compartir alguna manicura más. Tengo un par en el tintero, así que las iré dosificando.

En la manicura de hoy uso un esmalte de H&M del formato antiguo. Tengo ganas de visitar la nueva tienda de la marca en Burgos con Marian. Seguro que picamos con algo.

Día 1: Me aplico una capa de base de Essence, de la gama BTGN. Me aplico dos capas finitas y seguidas de ambos esmaltes. En el dedo índice de la mano izquierda doy una capa del esmalte de efecto Ombre de Catrice que vino de regalo con una revista, antes de leer que es para colores claros. Vamos bien.
No me aplico topcoat.

Día 2 (sábado): Como no me apliqué topcoat, vaga de mí, me despierto con marcas de las sábanas en las uñas que llevan el esmalte de H&M. Me las había pintado después de comer, para que os hagáis una idea.
En el pulgar derecho, se me ha ido un poco el esmalte, seguro que por tocar algo antes de tiempo o usar la uña como herramienta.

Día 5 (martes): Aunque quizá las podría apurar un poco más, me las despinto por la mañana. El esmalte del dedo anular derecho ya estaba algo saltado. 

Y os dejo con "Las Mininas", Molly y Luna. Que se chinchan la una a la otra cuando están juntas todo lo que pueden, pero cuando están separadas se buscan.
Luna se ha convertido en entrenadora personal de Molly, que en su última revisión veterinaria, ha perdido algo de peso. Será por correr delante y detrás de ella.

Hi, ladies

It's been ages since my last mani, hasn't it? Well, hopefully, the summer holidays will be a better time for me to share a few manis with you. I have drafted a couple of nail posts that I'll be posting every now and then. 

Today's mani features an old H&M polish. I'm really looking forward to checking out the new store the company has opened in Burgos with my sister. Surely we won't come out empty-handed. 

Day 1: I applied one coat of base from the Essence BTGN range. I applied two thin coats of both polishes, one after the other. On my left index finger I used one coat of a Catrice ombre topcoat that was a recent magazine freebie. That was before reading it only works with light shades. Well done, girl.
Didn't apply topcoat this time.

Day 2: The aftermath of not having used topcoat is that I wake up to sheet marks on the nails with the H&M polish. I'd painted them after lunch, so that should give you an idea of the drying time.
The polish on my right thumbnail is gone on the edge. I guess I touched something before it was fully dry or used my nail as a tool.

Day 5: Although I could have worn this a bit longer, I took the polish off in the morning. There was some chipped polish on my right ring fingernail.

And here's a pic of both Molly and Luna, aka 'The Cats-in-Waiting'. Always pestering each other when they're together and then looking for the other when they're apart.
Luna has appointed herself Molly's personal trainer and Molly lost some weight as a result in her latest vet checkup. The perks of running in front of and behind her, I guess.

Compras (y regalos) ecológicos - Eco haul (and gifts).

El pasado 11 de junio visité la exposición "Eco Vida Natural", que tuvo lugar en el Fórum Evolución de Burgos, del 9 al 11 de junio.

En esta exposición había talleres y conferencias a los que me hubiera gustado asistir, pero iba con el tiempo justo (tenía que trabajar por la tarde).

Así que me centré en darme un paseo por los diferentes expositores. Compré algunas cosas, y otras me las regalaron.

Esto fue lo que compré:

1- Semillas de sésamo caramelizadas, con moringa, de ecOriginal.
Están caramelizadas con panela; y la moringa tiene propiedades antienvejecimiento y ayuda a reducir el colesterol.
Los 4 paquetes me costaron 12€.

2- Azúcar de caña Bio, de Intermón Oxfam.
Trae 500 gr, y me costó 2,79€.

3- Aceites esenciales de limón, e ylang ylang, de Aloe Plant.
Me costaron los dos 13€. Traen 10 ml cada envase.

Y esto lo que me regalaron:

4- Chips de garbanzo, de El Granero Integral.
Están riquísimos.

5- Bebida de arroz con baobab (1 litro), de Amandin.

6- Bebida de arroz con plátano y fresa (1 litro), de Amandin.

7- Bebida de avena con calcio (200 ml), de Amandin.

No he probado ninguna de las bebidas.
Estoy esperando a Marox, que vendrá en breve. Así, las probamos juntas.

Bueno, esto ha sido todo por el momento.

Last June 11th I attended an exhibition in town on leading an organic life called 'Eco Vida Natural' that was held here in Burgos from June 9th -11th.

Some of the activities consisted of workshops and lectures I would have enjoyed attended, but I had very little time as I had to work an evening shift.

So what I did was walk the space and see the different stalls. I bought a few things and got a few freebies too.

This is what I bought:

1- Caramel coated sesame seeds, with moringa, from ecOriginal.
The caramel is made from panela. The moringa has antiaging properties and helps to reduce cholesterol.
These 4 packs cost me €12.

2- Bio cane sugar, from Intermon Oxfam (fair trade).
The pack contains 500 gr, and I paid €2.79 for it.

3- Lemon and Ylang ylang essential oils, from Aloe Plant.
I paid €13 for these. Each bottle contains 10 ml.

And these were the freebies I got.




4- Chickpea chips, from El Granero Integral.
They're really yummy!

5- Rice drink with baobab, from Amandin (1 litre).

6- Rice drink with banana and strawberry (1 litre), from Amandin.

7- Oat drink with calcium (200 ml) from Amandin.

I haven't tried any of the drinks. I'm waiting for Marox to come here (in a couple of days), to try them together.
