Pues ahora puedes comprobar por tí misma si tu base de maquillaje realmente está libre de aceites. ¿Cómo? Es muy fácil.

What a question, huh?

Well, now you can check yourself if your make-up foundation is really oil-free.

How? It's very easy.

Sólo necesitas, aparte de una gotita de tus bases de maquillaje (BB creams también), como es obvio, uno de esos papeles matificantes. Pones una gotita en el papel, y a esperar.

You just need, apart from a drop of your foundations (also BB creams), as you can imagine, one of those blotting papers. Put a drop on the paper, and wait for a while.

Ahora que pienso, se me hace raro que una prebase de maquillaje, que se supone que su función es prolongar la duración del mismo, sea tan grasa.

A pesar de que agité el envase para repartir el producto antes de aplicarlo, está claro que no quedó bien mezclado. Las que tengáis esta prebase sabéis por qué lo digo. El aplicador es lo peor del mundo mundial.

Now I'm thinking that it seems a bit weird that a make-up primer, which is supposed to make your foundation last longer on your skin, is so oily.

Despite I shook the bottle to mix the product inside before applying it, the fact is that it didn't get mixed well. Those of you who have this primer will know what I mean. The applicator is the worst thing in the entire world.

¿Qué tal habéis empezado el 2012? Espero que mejor que yo... con un virus estomacal. ¡Ni las uvas me pude tomar! Afortunadamente, ya pasó.
Estoy pasando estas fiestas en casa de mis padres en mi tierra. Aprovechando que tenía un ratito libre mientras esperaba a una persona, hice un breve potitour por una de las perfumerías Marionnaud que hay aquí -no hay ninguna donde mi hermana- y no podía creer lo que veían mis ojos: un stand de GOSH, marca que vi tanto en mi viaje a Tallin en julio como en septiembre con Marian en Ámsterdam.
Afortunadamente puedo decir que no se han pasado mucho con los precios (como sucede con OPI o L'Oreal sin ir más lejos), ya que estaba un euro o así más cara que en Tallin.
Doy gracias a las cámaras de los móviles (ADORO mi Nokia XPress Music), ya que así tengo prueba fotográfica-modo Spycam ON- que demuestre que no me he vuelto loca ni os estoy vacilando.

Did you have a good start to the year? I hope you started it better than I did, with a tummy bug. I couldn't even eat my 12 grapes -Spanish New Year's Eve custom- at midnight! But thankfully I'm quite recovered now.
I'm spending the Xmas holidays in my hometown, at my parents'. I had some minutes to wait before meeting someone and headed to one of the Marionnaud perfumeries stores here - there are none at my sister's- to pass the time. I couldn't believe my eyes: right in front of me, a full display of GOSH makeup, a brand I first saw in Tallinn last July and then in Amsterdam with my sister. Unlike with other brands being brought or sold here (namely, OPI or L'Oreal), it has not been too overpriced, as things were about a euro more expensive than in Tallinn. Thank God for smartphones with built-in cameras (LOVE my Nokia XPress Music, lol), as I thus have photographic evidence -Spycam mode ON- to back my words and prove I have neither lost my wits nor am pulling your leg.




Ignoro si la habrán traido a todas las tiendas o sólo a las más grandes. Zamora no es precisamente una gran ciudad, así que si han llegado hasta aquí no perdéis nada por acercaros a vuestra perfumería Marionnaud más cercana *ver buscador*. De las tres perfumerías que hay aquí, sólo la he visto en una.

I have no idea if the brand is now available in all their stores nationwide or can only be found in the larger ones. Zamora is not exactly a big city, so if they've made it here I'd be hopeful and check out the nearest Marionnaud store *see store locator*. They only have it on one of the three stores we have here.

También eché un breve vistazo a otra de las novedades de Marionnaud que ya habréis visto en otros blogs (por ejemplo, en el de Miss Potingues): los miniesmaltes de la nueva marca Marionnaud. Pensé que serían más grandes (¡lo que engaña el modo macro!), pero sólo contienen 5 ml y cuestan casi 4 euros. Hay testers y aviso que hay un clon del Morning Rose de Chanel. Se llama "Candy Rose". Lamentablemente, los esmaltes de su marca no aparecen en la tienda online y no hay mucha información sobre ellos en los blogs.
Tampoco pude hacer foto, tenían el ministand justo donde la caja y habría "cantado" mucho (como es lógico, prefiero hacerlas más "de estrangis").

I also briefly checked out another of the latest releases from Marionnaud that you may have seen around in the blogs (Miss Potingues, for instance wrote about them): the nail polish minis from their own new line of cosmetics. I thought they'd be bigger (Geez! Macro shots are deceiving!) but they are only 5ml and are almost 4 EUR. They have testers and I have a dupe alert for you, ladies: they have a Chanel 'Morning Rose' dupe called 'Candy Rose'. Unfortunately, there's no info at all about them on their online store and not much in the blogs either. I couldn't take any pics either, as the mini display was right next to the checkout and would have been too obvious (and I prefer to go unnoticed when taking sneaky, undercover pics, you know).

LDED / LOTD: Morado con Essence - Purple with Essence

¿Cómo lleváis la Navidad? Espero que bien.

Hoy regreso con otro de mis look rápidos, en esta ocasión en tonos morados, utilizando dos sombras mono de Essence ya retiradas, en el tono #16 'Go Glam' y la #19 'Disco Diva'.
La sombra más rosada, la apliqué en el párpado móvil y la morada en la cuenca. Para iluminar, la sombra color crema del trío 'Babushka's Dream' de la EL 'Secrets of the Past' que ya tenemos en las últimas.

I'm back with another quick look, this time in purple shades, using two now discontinued mono e/s from Essence in the shades #16 'Go Glam' and #19 'Disco Diva'. I applied the pink shade on my lid and the purple one in the crease. I highlighted my browbone using again the cream-coloured shadow in the 'Babushka's Dream' trio from the 'Secrets of the Past' LE and where we hit pan on long ago.

Para delinear, utilicé si mal no recuerdo el gel liner morado de Essence, de la colección fija. Para las pestañas, la máscara Blackmania.
En los labios, tomé prestado a Marian uno de sus nuevos pintalabios de Nyx, el Lala. Por cierto, que en mí se ve mucho más oscuro que en ella, tanto que no parece el mismo. Os dejo una foto para que podáis comprobarlo por vosotras mismas.





I think I lined my eyes using the purple gel liner from Essence, the one in the core collection. Blackmania mascara on my lashes. For my lips, I borrowed one of Marian's latest Nyx lipsticks, Lala. Btw, it looks a lot darker in me than in her, so much that it doesn't even look the same. Here's some photographic evidence to back up my claims.

En las últimas entradas, Marox se ha encargado de contaros acerca de la parte cultural de nuestro viaje a Amsterdam. Pero como había mucho que escribir y tenemos que repartirnos el trabajo como buenas hermanas, me voy a encargar de enseñaros las poticompras que hemos hecho en este viaje.

La verdad es que he comprado poquitas cosas (deben de ser los remordimientos de conciencia), y marox sí que ha comprado algunas más, pero no muchas.

In the latest posts, Marox has told you about the cultural part of our recent trip to Amsterdam. But there was a lot to write about and we must share the task as good siblings, so I'm going to show you the make-up purchases we've made on this trip.

To be honest, I've bought just a few things (probably pangs of conscience), and marox has bought more items, but not many more.

Empezamos con las compras de marox.

Las de esta foto fueron hechas el mismo día, pero en dos perfumerías distintas: Etos y Kruidvat.

De izquierda a derecha y de arriba abajo, podéis ver los esmaltes MNY 124A (de edición limitada), y los esmaltes de Catrice “Dirty Berry” (de acabado holográfico muy sutil), “Captain Sparrow's Boat” y “Sand Francisco”.

En la fila del centro están el gel liner verde de essence, y dos pigmentos de Etos (que todavía no hemos probado, pero por el precio que tenían...)

Abajo del todo está el pincel de smokey eyes de essence, al que le teníamos unas ganas que para qué.

Let's start with marox's purchases.

Those you can see in this pic were bought the same day, but at two different drugstores: Etos and Kruidvat.

From left to right, and from top to bottom, you can see the nail polishes 124A from MNY (from a limited edition), and the polishes from Catrice 'Dirty Berry' (with a very subtle holo finish), 'Captain Sparrow's Boat', and 'Sand Francisco'.

On the middle row you can see the green gel eyeliner from Essence, and two jars of loose powder from Etos (which we haven't tried yet, but couldn't leave them there).

At the bottom of the pic you see the smokey eyes brush from Essence, which we both were willing to have.

Al igual que pudimos comprobar en las droguerías de Berlín, en las de Amsterdam (y supongo que en toda Holanda) hay una sección bastante grande de productos de cosmética en tamaño viaje, como desodorantes, espumas para el pelo, champú, gel, manteca corporal y crema de protección solar (sí, Salander, nos hemos acordado de tí), así que marox no pudo resistirse a comprar algunas de estas miniaturas. El jabón de Nivea no era una miniatura, pero lo de fruta de la pasión sonaba muy bien (y tiene que oler mejor).

We could check that in Amsterdam's drugstores (and I guess it's the same in The Netherlands) there is a big display with cosmetic products in travel size (as it happened in those in Berlin), such as deodorant, hair styling mousse, shampoo, shower gel, body butter and sun protection milk (that reminded me of Salander); so marox couldn't help buying some of these minis. Nivea's soap bar wasn't mini size, but 'passion fruit' sounds very nice (and I'm sure it smells even better).

Marox also bought the pink magnetic nail polish from Essence and two new stampy plates.

Ahora vamos con mis compras.

Algunas de ellas son comunes a las de marox, así que no os hablaré de ellas.

Me compré el esmalte de Catrice “After Eight”, que estrené allí mismo y queda precioso, los mismos pigmentos y el pincel de smokey eyes.

Let's go with my purchases now.

Some of them are the same as marox's ones, so I won't tell you about them again.

I bought the polish from Catrice 'After Eight', which I have already used and it's beautiful; the jars of loose powder (in the same shades) and the smokey eyes brush.

Hubo otra miniatura a la que ninguna de las dos nos pudimos resistir. Son estos lápices de ojos de Etos, de edición limitada, que pigmentan genial, y en unos colores preciosos.

There was another mini we both couldn't help buying: these eye pencils from Etos, from a limited edition, with a great pigmentation, and in beautiful shades.

Como ya os dijo marox en su entrada, el día de regreso nuestro vuelo salía por la tarde, así que, ¿cómo podíamos pasar la mañana? Pues de “potitour”.

En este “potitour” descubrimos otra droguería, Dirx, en la que también dejamos algunos euros.

Compramos los esmaltes de Teeez! “02 Cool” y “01 Smooth”, ambos con acabado holográfico. Como nos gustan a las dos por igual, hemos decidido compartirlos como buenas hermanas.

El otro esmalte, es de Paris Memories (otra marca de bajo coste), en el tono 281 (yo lo definiría como marrón chocolate metalizado). Este me lo quedo yo, porque marox tiene otro de un tono parecido.

Me compré también el labial en formato líquido de Teeez! En el tono “Femme fatale”, un rojo intenso precioso.

También compramos varias sombras mono de Essence y de Catrice, en una droguería Kruidvat.

As marox told you on another post, the day we came back, our flight was late in the afternoon, so how could we spend the morning? Doing make-up shopping.

We discovered another drugstore, Dirx, and we left some money there.

We bought the polishes from Teeez! '02 Cool' and '01 Smooth', both with a holo finish. As we both like them, we have decided to share them.

The other polish is from Paris Memories (another low cost brand), in the shade 281 (I'd define it as metallic chocolate brown). This one is for me, because marox has another one in a similar shade.

I also bought the liquid lipstick from Teeez in the shade 'Femme fatale', a beautiful deep red.

We purchased some mono eyeshadows from Essence and Catrice as well, in a Kruidvat drugstore.

En próximas entradas os enseñaremos chuaches de las sombras, pigmentos, esmaltes..., para que los veáis bien, bien.

On forthcoming posts we're going to show you swatches of these eyeshadows, pigments, nail polishes..., this way you will see them real good.

Edito: Ahora mismo estamos usando el jabón de Nivea y la verdad es que está muy bien. Deja la piel suave y el olorcito frutal perdura un poco en la piel.

Edit: We're using the Nivea soap/beauty bar and it's very nice. The skin is moisturized and soft to the touch and the fruity scent stays in your skin for a while.

Hazlo tú: Sellador de maquillaje – DIY: Make-up sealer.

Hacía algún tiempo que no subía ninguna entrada de “brico-cosmética”. Hoy os traigo una receta para que podáis hacer vuestro propio sellador de maquillaje en casa. La idea no es original mía, sino que adopté la que dio Gijifacialsmakeup en uno de sus vídeos.

It's been quite a long time since I posted the last 'DIY-cosmetics' entry. Today I'm back with a recipe so you can make your own make-up sealer/setting spray. The idea is not originally mine, as I adopted one that Gijifacialsmakeup shared in one of her videos on YT.

Para hacer este sellador de maquillaje, necesitáis:

*Agua de rosas o agua destilada (2 cucharadas). Yo usé agua sulfurada del balneario “La dama verde”.

*Glicerina líquida: 1 cucharadita.

*Mineral de alumbre (en polvo): ½ cucharadita.

*Un frasco atomizador.

*Un embudo.

*Un rallador.

*Un recipiente (para que caiga el polvo de alumbre).

To make this make-up sealer, you will need:

*Rose water or distilled water (2 tablespoons). I used sulphurous water from the spa 'The Green Lady'.

*Liquid glycerin: 1 teaspoon.

*Alum stone (into powder): ½ teaspoon.

*A bottle with spray.

*A funnel.

*A grater.

*A bowl (for alum powder).

Por supuesto, si queréis hacer más cantidad, simplemente tendréis que aumentar la proporción de cada cosa.

Obviously, if you want to make a bigger amount of it, just increase the proportion of each ingredient.

Lo primero de todo es rallar el mineral de alumbre. Usé uno de los pequeños trozos en los que se rompió mi “piedra preciosa” que usaba como desodorante (lo compré en Bubbly). Hay que tener cuidado con los bordes, porque pueden cortar.

First of all, grate the piece of alum stone. I used one of the small pieces in which my 'precious stone' I used as deodorant broke into (I bought it at Bubbly). Be very careful with the edges, they're very sharp and you could cut yourself.

Después, con ayuda del embudo, vas introduciendo los ingredientes en el frasco atomizador.

After that, with the help of the funnel, put all the ingredients into the spray bottle.

Ahora sólo tienes que agitar para mezclarlo todo y... ¡listo para usar!

Now just shake well to mix it all and... ready to use!

Wet n Wild 'Comfort Zone' - Look

Hoy vengo con un post cortito, simplemente para enseñaros un look rapidito que hice hace un par de días con la paleta 'Comfort Zone' de Wet n Wild que gané en el sorteo de Schni.

Today I have a short 'n sweet post for you, simply to show you a quickie look I created a few days ago with the 'Comfort Zone' palette from Wet n Wild that I won on Schni's giveaway.

Como no encontraba las brochas, usé el aplicador que viene en la paleta y bueno, digamos que para colocar las sombras en el párpado, sirvió. Luego ya difuminé con la brocha de Mercadona. Utilicé las sombras del lado derecho de la paleta. El delineado lo hice con un perfilador de Max Factor que justo se me terminó y la máscara de pestañas es la Clubbing de Bourjois, que no me gusta nada, ya que sale una cantidad exagerada de producto y con ese gupillón medio calvo que tiene, cuesta una barbaridad que no te quede apegotonada. No sé si la mía está defectuosa o es que es así.





I couldn't find my brushes so had to do with the applicator included on the palette, and well, let's just say it did the job. Then, when I located my brushes I blended the different eyeshadows with the discontinued Blending brush from Mercadona.
I used the colours on the right side of the palette for this look. I lined my upper lashline with an automatic eye pencil from Max Factor that I finished shortly after this. The mascara I used was Clubbing from Bourjois in brown. I don't like it one bit, you get an exaggerated amount of product on the wand, scraping off the excess against the tube is a challenge and then the half-bald wand makes a clump-free application near impossible. I don't know if I got a defective one or what.

Lo dicho, un look rapidito y definitivamente mejorable, aunque las sombritas me han gustado mucho.

Like I said, a very quick EOTD with lots of grounds for improvement, though the eyeshadows are definitely worth it.

Posible look flamenco / Flamenco make-up proposal

Si nos seguís, ya sabéis que dentro de unos días la academia donde vamos a clase de flamenco hará un pequeño festival de fin de curso. Para evitar los nervios de última hora y el consabido: '¿Y cómo me pinto? os traigo uno de los maquillajes que he estado ensayando esta semana.
Gadirroja que es un cielo me propuso adaptar varios de los looks que ella ha hecho en su blog que pegaban con el vestuario que tengo que llevar y el que véis fue el primero que hice y el que más me ha gustado.

If you've been following us for some time, you'll probably know that the place we have our flamenco dance lessons will have a small end-of-course festival. In order to avoid last-minute nerves and lack of inspiration, here's a look I tried this week.
Gadirroja kindly suggested adapting several looks she'd done for her blog that matched the dance outfit I have to wear. The one you see is the first one I did and the one I liked the most.




Es un ahumado en azul, pero suavizado con un poco de rosa cerca del lagrimal. He usado dos sombras de Essence mate que hemos comprado esta semana y que aún no os hemos enseñado. En la V externa, usé la sombra Morocco de Nyx, que aunque no es mate, no tiene mucho brillo. Al tratarse de un maquillaje para escenario, prefiero usar tonos que tengan poco o ningún brillo, ya que aunque te pongas cuatro toneladas de maquillaje los focos se lo comen todo y la purpurina se da de tortas también con las luces.
Para el delineado, le tomé prestado a mi hermana su delineador de Alverde -que no está nada mal, pero al que me ha costado un poco cogerle el truco. La textura es distinta de la del de Essence, al que estoy más acostumbrada.
Gadirroja me propuso unos labios en tonos rosas o bien más suaves o bien más atrevidos. Como ves, he optado por lo segundo, por lo que comento antes: las luces se comen el maquillaje. Es de la marca Kiotis de Stanhome y también es de mi hermana. Lo definiría como un rojo frambuesa, pero no os fiéis mucho de mis descripciones de colores. Mi madre es la artista de la familia, no yo.






It's a smokey eye using blue shades, though I toned it down with some pink near the tear duct. I used two Essence matte eyeshadows we bought this week but haven't got round to show you yet. For the outer V, I used the NYX eyeshadow in 'Morocco' -it's not matte, but not too shimmery either. Since this is a stage make-up I wanted to keep the eyes as matte as possible, because the stage lights will literally eat any makeup you've put on and glitter/shimmer is also your worst enemy.
I lined my eyes using the black gel liner from Alverde -I borrowed this from my sis. It's not bad, but it took me a while to get used to the texture (as opposed to the Essence one I've been using lately).
Gadirroja suggested going for pink lips, either a pale pink or something bolder -which is what I used, for the same reasons I explained above. It's from Kiotis by Stanhome and is also from my sister. I'd say it's a raspberry red if asked, but again, don't trust my colour descriptions too much. My mum is the artist in the family, not me.

Y esta es la falda con la que voy a bailar. Es de una compañera del año pasado y me quedaba larguíiiisima (mido 1.68, pero o esta chica era jugadora de baloncesto o la llevaba en plan 'Cachuli'). Mi madre me la ha tenido que arreglar para que no me mate con ella, pero como la tela pesa un montón se va escurriendo hacia abajo, así que la sujetaré con unos imperdibles para no tropezarme con ella y acabar cuerpo a tierra, lo cual no sería nada glamuroso, jeje.




And this is the skirt I have to dance with. It's from a girl from last year's group and was soooo long for me (I'm 5'6''/ 1.68 cm, but either this girl was a basketball player or wore it under her armpits, granpa style.) My mother had to adjust it for me, but it has so much fabric it ends up slipping through my waist, so I'll fix it with some safety pins to be extra safe. I don't want it to get in my way and end up in a rather unelegant heap on the floor - ;)

En cuanto al baile en sí, mi grupo haremos unos caracoles con abanico de Enrique Morente (el 'Cómo reluce' que no sabéis lo complicado que es seguir el compás, porque este hombre que en paz descanse no marca los acentos con la letra). Hemos estado ensayando un montón últimamente, pero aún así, puede salir o decente o "pá los leones" en palabras de mi profe: es decir, fuera de tiempo todo el rato, cada una a su aire, que alguien se olvide de algún paso y nos quedemos petrificadas -con alguna escojonándose de la risa... ha pasado. He bailado en público ya varios años, pero con mi otra profesora teníamos los bailes (el año pasado creo que bailé seis distintos) requetemachacados desde meses antes y los podíamos hacer con los ojos cerrados. En cambio, este año hemos acabado de montar la coreografía hace un mes. Por cierto, mis ex-compis actúan hoy.

As for the dance itself, my group is doing one of the styles or 'palos' called caracoles -with fan, to make it more complicated, lol- by the late Enrique Morente (to the song 'Como reluce', which is very complicated to keep track of the compás, because this man didn't stress the beat with his lyrics, as most singers do). We've been rehearsing a lot lately, but even so it can either turn out passable or a disaster 'straight for the lions', quoting my instructor (think the Roman circus). Disaster as in all of us out of time all the time, with no coordination in our movements as a group, with one of us forgetting a combination and all of us frozen on the spot while others burst into giggles -believe me, it HAS happened. I've been dancing in front of an audience for a couple of years, but with my previous instructor we had learnt the steps by heart with months in advance and could dance all our numbers (I think I had like six different ones last year) with our eyes closed. This year, we finished putting together the choreography last month. Btw, my former dancemates are performing tonight.

Cómo tengo organizado mi maquillaje - How I organize my make-up.

Después de ver videos en youtube, y de leer entradas sobre este tema, empecé a pensar en una forma de organizar mi maquillaje. Casi todas las gurús tienen las típicas cajoneras de Ikea, o algún otro mueble de baño sólo para esto.
El problema es que yo no podía poner una cajonera en el baño, porque no cabe. No es que tenga un baño excesivamente pequeño, pero ya tengo un carrito con baldas, que tengo ocupado con otras cosas. Así que ya no podía poner nada más.

Entonces, en una visita a un bazar chino, me hice con una caja con tapa, que dentro tiene más cajitas, todas iguales. En ese momento lo vi claro. Esa era la solución que yo buscaba.

After watching some videos on youtube, and reading posts about this, I started thinking of how I could organize my make-up. Almost all the make-up gurus have those typical chests of drawers from Ikea, or some other kind of furniture for bathroom just for this.
The problem is that I couldn't put a chest of drawers in my bathroom, because it doesn't fit.
My bathroom isn't very small, but I already have a trolley with shelves in that place, which is full of other things. So I couldn't put anything more in that place.

One day I went to a Chinese euro store, and I bought a box with a lid, which has more boxes inside, all the same size. Then I realized that was the solution I was looking for.



Por si no os hacéis idea del tamaño, la caja grande mide 33x33 cm, y como veis en la foto, las pequeñas se pueden quitar, pero yo no lo he hecho.

In case you can't imagine how big it is, the big box is 33x33 cm, and as you can see in the pic, the small ones can be taken out, but I haven't done it.

Ahora veréis mi maquillaje organizado, o por lo menos guardado. He intentado colocar las cosas por tipos de productos, pero al final las he puesto donde cabían.

Now you can see my make-up organized, or at least, stored. I have tried to organize things by type, but in the end I have put them in where they fit.

Fuera de la caja tengo: mis labiales y glosses (en una tapa de un rosco de dvds), y en el bote cuadrado verde tengo los jumbos y perfiladores de ojos, máscara de pestañas y sombras en crema. Al lado está mi manta de brochas, y delante mis paletas de sombras.

Outside the box are: my lipsticks and glosses (in a lid of a 25-dvd box), and my eyeliner pencils and jumbos, mascara and cream eyeshadows are in the green square storage jar. My brushroll is next to them, and my eyeshadow palettes are in front.

Y detrás de todo esto hay otro organizador: el de los collares. Sí, ya sé que esto no es maquillaje, pero los pobrecillos también necesitaban un sitio donde estar bien colocaditos.

Behind all this stuff there is another organizer: for my necklaces. Yes, I know that this is not make-up, but... poor them! They also needed a place to be well stored.

Hoy ha hecho un día bastante lluvioso, aunque en estos momentos ha aclarado y está saliendo el sol (a buenas horas). Así que como esta tarde la he pasado en casita, me he dedicado a preparar entradas que tenía pendientes.
En esta que hoy os traigo veréis las compras de maquillaje que hice en Madrid.

Today it's been quite a rainy day, although it's clearer now and the sun is shining (it's a bit late for that, isn't it?). Since I've spent the afternoon at home, I decided to prepare some posts I had on queue.
In today's you can see my make-up haul in Madrid.


Los esmaltes que veis son, de izquierda a derecha: el 242 'Ametista Perlato' de KIKO, el 300 'Verde Malachite Perlato', también de KIKO, uno de Claire's, del que no estoy segura de qué número tiene (no sé si alguien sabe dónde encontrar el número), y el esmalte de H&M en el tono Midnight Passion.
Como veis, de 4 esmaltes, 2 han sido rojos: el de H&M en un rojo sólido, y el de KIKO con brillos, más "fiestero".

Detrás de los esmaltes, podéis ver el jabón que me compré. Éste es de algas. No es el primero que me compro de este tipo. El año pasado en los Sampedros (las fiestas de Burgos, y las llamamos así porque se celebra San Pedro y San Pablo), compré varios como éste en unos puestecillos: 2 para mí y otros 2 para mi hermana. Como nos han encantado (y se van gastando), había que reponer, así que decidimos aprovechar la ocasión. El precio fue de 5 € por 2 jabones.

The nail polishes you can see, from left to right, are: the '242 - Ametista Perlato' from KIKO, the '300 -Verde Malachite Perlato', also from KIKO, another one from Claire's whose number I'm not quite sure about (does anybody know where to find the number?), and the polish from H&M called 'Midnight Passion'.
As you can see, 2 of the 4 nail polishes I bought are red: the one from H&M in a fast red, and the one from KIKO is red with shimmer, more appropiate for party time.

Behind the polishes, you can see the soap I bought (seaweed soap). This is not the first soap I have bought of this brand. Last year, at 'Sampedros' (Burgos local Holidays, and we call them that way because we honour both St. Peter and St. Paul), I bought some at a street market stall: 2 for me and 2 for my sister. We fell in love with this kind of soap, (and we've run out of them), so we decided to seize the chance to stock up. We paid €5 for 2 soap bars.

De todo lo que compré en Madrid, sólo he usado el esmalte de Claire's. Tenía ganas de probar su versión del "Paradoxal" de Chanel, y pudimos hacernos con él gracias a Salander. Me encanta el color que tiene, y cómo los reflejos que tiene se hacen visibles con la luz.
Haré otra entrada sobre él para que veáis cómo queda.

From everything I bought in Madrid, I've only used the Claire's nailpolish. I was willing to try their version of 'Paradoxal' from Chanel. We managed to find it thanks to Salander. I love its colour, and how its reflections become visible depending on the light. I'll upload another post, so you can see how it looks.

Hoy os traigo un recorrido virtual por una de las droguerías más famosas de Alemania, DM, al más puro estilo James Bond. El primer día no calculé bien y sumado al frío, me quedé sin batería antes de lo que yo esperaba, por lo que la mayoría de las fotos las hizo mi hermana con su cámara, que no es precisamente tamaño espía.
El resto de los días espabilé y fui bien provista de pilas para poder "afotar" todo, jeje.

Today I have prepared for you a virtual tour of one the most popular German drugstores, DM, with lots of undercover pictures not even a world-class spy like James Bond could equal. I underestimated my camera use and the life of my batteries on my first day and that coupled with the cold left me without a working camera earlier than expected, so most of the photos that follow had to be taken by my sis with her camera, which let's face it, it's far from being compact in size as befitting a spy.
I wised up and went well prepared the rest of the days, ;)








Ya me habían advertido que la visita a un DM llevaba tiempo y es cierto. Literalmente te pierdes con la cantidad de productos que hay allí, la sección de productos de tamaño viaje me dejó boquiabierta. Lo único que me confundió un poco fue la distribución de ciertos productos: el tamaño viaje de un mismo producto no está al lado del de tamaño normal, por ejemplo; las cremas de Essence estaban en estantes normales y no junto al mueble.

I'd been pre-warned about the fact that a visit to a DM store was time consuming and indeed it was, especially if it's your first. Quite literally, you get lost and dizzy at the sight of the range of products to be found there, the travel-size aisle left me totally speechless. The only thing I found a bit confusing was the arrangement of certain products in the store: the travel size and the regular size version of the same product are not close to one another, for instance; the Essence creams were in shelves and not next to the makeup display...

Encontramos una gran variedad de marcas, algunas conocidas en España como nuestra Astor, Max Factor y nuestra adorada Essence, pero incluso dentro de esas, la gama que encontramos a nuestra disposición yo diría que es incluso mayor. Recuerdo unos esmaltes de colores neón en el stand de Astor y unas minilacas de uñas en el de Max Factor que no me suena haber visto en España. Tampoco tenemos en España la marca MNY, perteneciente al grupo Maybelline y orientada a un público más joven, de mucho colorido y con precios similares a Essence.
Lo mismo sucede con la italiana Debby, del grupo Deborah. De esta marca, tan sólo vimos una pequeña colección -yo diría que era una EL- en uno de los DM que visitamos. De precio, similar a Catrice, aunque creo que los esmaltes eran más caros.
Otras marcas como Esprit, la línea de maquillaje de Nivea, la línea de cuidado y cosmética natural del DM, Alverde o la superventas P2 son imposibles de encontrar fuera de Alemania y de sus países vecinos.









The variety of brands available was like out of this world. Some of them are well known to us, like the Spanish Astor and the more international ones like Max Factor or our beloved Essence. However, when looking at the makeup displays of these brands I dare say the range of products available there is even larger than what we have here in Spain. I recall seeing some Astor polishes in bright neon colours I'd never seen before over here and the same goes for the mini MaxFactor ones -I have no recollection of ever coming across them in our stores.
There's also the brand MNY, a division of Maybelline with a make-up line aimed at a younger audience and in the same price range as Essence. The same goes for the Italian Debby, a younger version of Deborah, though we only found that at one DM. It was most likely a LE, the one you can see in the photo. It's in the Catrice price range, though I think the polishes were more expensive.
And then we have other brands like Esprit or the store's best seller and own brand P2 as well as DM's natural care and make-up line Alverde, which are impossible to find outside of Germany and neighbouring countries.

However, the brands we did not find were the ones we usually have in Spanish drugstores: Maybelline, Bourjois, Deborah, Rimmel, and so on.

La disponibilidad de productos varía según la tienda: en algunas pasa como en España, que parece que acabara de pasar el caballo de Atila, mientras que otras estarán más surtidas.

Product availability varies depending on the store: some may be 'polished off', as if raided by Attila's troops like in Spain while others may be well stocked.




No sólo tiene maquillaje, por ejemplo, la sección de almacenaje me pareció muy interesante. Había organizadores con usos múltiples, por ejemplo para tener los labiales que más usamos a mano.

But there's more than just makeup at DM, the storage displays were very interesting with lots of storage ideas and multiple purposes for them, like keeping the lipsticks we use the most handy and neatly arranged.




Creo que todas las fotos que incluyo pertenecen al DM, espero que no se me cuele ninguna de otra tienda por error. Si es así, mis disculpas.

I hope all the uploaded pics belong to DM, it's hard to remember exactly a few weeks after the fact. My apologies if for some reason some of them are not.

Mi primer producto de MAC.

Aquí estoy de nuevo; en esta ocasión os enseño la primera “poticompra” que hice en nuestro reciente viaje a Berlín. Para ser más exactos, la hice como una hora antes de embarcar, en las tiendas Duty-Free del aeropuerto de Barajas. Sí, ya lo sé: soy una impaciente y no pude esperar.

Here I am again and this time I'm going to show my first 'make-up purchase' from our recent trip to Berlin. To be honest, I made it about an hour before boarding, at the Duty Free shops in Madrid-Barajas airport. Yes, I know; I'm impatient and couldn't wait.

Pues eso. Estábamos en la zona de las tiendas Duty-Free, vimos la de perfumería y allí que fuimos como locas. De repente, vemos un stand de MAC y claro, no podíamos pasar de largo. Después de oír hablar maravillas de esta marca a las gurús del maquillaje, me picó la curiosidad. Empezamos probando tonos, pero como hay tantísimos, finalmente preguntamos al dependiente, Carlos, un chico majísimo. Se ofreció a maquillarme, y como teníamos tiempo suficiente, le dije que sí.

Y al final..., caí en la tentación. Me compré la base Mineralize Satinfinish en el tono NW25, con la que me había maquillado, que me costó 24€. Y el maquillaje de ojos y labios lo hizo con productos de la colección Wonder Woman.

So, we were on the Duty Free shops and saw the Perfumery and Beauty one and we headed that way as if in a trance. Suddenly we discovered a MAC display and could obviously not walk past. After hearing all the makeup gurus speak so well about it, curiosity bit me. We started trying on the different shades but as there were so many of them we decided to ask the shop assistant for help and Carlos came to our rescue. He offered to do my makeup and since we had time to spare, I said yes.

And eventually... I gave in to temptation. I bought the Mineralize Satinfinish foundation in the shade NW25 he had used on me and I paid € 24 for it. For my eyes and lips he used some products from the Wonder Woman Limited Edition.

Mientras me maquillaban, mi hermana estuvo cotilleando las barras de labios, sombras, pinceles..., y le probaron el nuevo labial Lady Gaga en tono nude, que no le gustó demasiado.

Como Carlos me dejó divina de la muerte, mi hermana me hizo unas fotos (con el modo “Disparo Bello” de su cámara, que eso sí que minimiza los poros, te quita los lunares, los granos y demás imperfecciones).

While he was doing my makeup, my sister was snooping around the shop looking at lipsticks, eyeshadows and brushes. Another shopkeeper offered to try the new Lady Gaga nude lipstick on her, which she didn't really like. As Carlos left me looking utterly divine, my sister took the opportunity to take a few photos (using the 'Beauty Shot' feature in her camera, and let me tell you the thing DOES minimize pores, remove moles, spots and other skin imperfections).

Volviendo a la base de maquillaje, aún no la he estrenado, porque todavía tengo otra sin terminar (aunque creo que ya queda poco). Pero puedo deciros tras mi primera experiencia con MAC que me gustó mucho el resultado. Después de 7-8 horas maquillada, tenía la sensación de no llevar nada en la cara, y eso me gusta.

Back to the foundation, I haven't worn it yet, because I still have another one unfinished (although I think there's no much product left). After my first experience with MAC I can say that I'm very satisfied with the result. After 7-8 hours with my makeup on, I didn't have a 'sticky-face' feeling, and I like that very much.
