UDLS / NOTW: Yes Love N06

¡Hola!

Hoy me gustaría enseñaros este esmalte que compré en una tienda multiprecio (chinos) de Zamora durante las vacaciones de Semana Santa. Iba buscando los esmaltes magnéticos de Yes Love -que no encontré, pero sí los crackle- cuando en un gran cajón de plástico lleno de esmaltes se me fueron los ojos como teledirigidos a este en concreto. Y como una es una buena hermana, pues pillé otro para Marian, como ya vistéis *aquí*.

Today I want to show you a nailpolish that I bought at a euro store (run by Chinese people) in my hometown, Zamora, during the Easter holidays. I was searching for the Yes Love magnetic nail polishes -which I didn't find, but I did spot their crackles- when my eyes were nailed as if laser-guided to a huge plastic drawer full of polishes among which I spotted this beauty. And as I'm a generous sibling, I bought another one for Marian, as seen *here*.

Día 1: Por la noche, después del tratamiento de cutículas de Mavala, aplico una capa de la base de P2 seguida de dos de este esmalte de Yes Love. Después, una capa de Seche Vite para evitar sorpresas con el secado. Este esmalte de los chinos tiene una buena cobertura, no huele fuerte y el único pero es que el pincel tiene un pelillo atravesado que hay que vigilar a la hora de pintarnos las uñas. El acabado es muy bonito, similar al efecto foil del *Space Cadet* de Orly. El precio, no llegó a un euro. El envase es muy, muy parecido a los de Deborah Lipmann *La Loca también se fijó*, de precio muuy superior y que han empezado a venderse en España, en El Corte Inglés. Y hablando de parecidos, acabo de descubrir un posible clon, el Deborah Milano #60 que podéis ver *aquí*.

Day 1: At night, after the cuticle removal treatment from Mavala, I apply one coat of the P2 base followed by another two of this Yes Love lacquer. Then, one coat of Seche Vite to prevent nasty surprises during the drying time. This cheapo polish from the Chinese euro store has good coverage, doesn't stink at all and the only con is a stray bristle in the brush you have to watch out during application. The finish is gorgeous, similar to the foil effect in Orly's *Space Cadet*, for instance. Pricewise, I paid barely a euro for it. The bottle is waay too similar to those Deborah Lipmann ones *La Loca also noticed the similarity*, which are a lot more expensive and that are starting to be sold here in Spain at El Corte Inglés -often referred to in this blog as ECI. And on the subject of lookalikes, I just discovered a possible dupe for this, Deborah Milano #60 that you can check for yourselves *here*.

Día 2: Por la mañana, sin la paparazzi oficial, me hago un par de fotos -con su cámara, soy una gorrona- y por la tarde, ante mi sorpresa, se me pela un buen trozo de esmalte del pulgar derecho y un trozo más pequeño en el índice. Por la noche, hacemos -vale, a decir verdad la hizo Marian, y no como yo con la opción 'P' para torpes que pongo yo en su cámara- una sesión de fotos en la que aparte de verse lo bonito que es este esmalte, tomamos prueba fotográfica de la escasa duración de este esmalte en la mano derecha. En el resto, perfecto. En el frente doméstico, no me ha dado tiempo a hacer gran cosa en este tiempo que justifique los desconchones, así que la duración sería mi segundo 'pero' a este precioso esmalte. Aunque ya sabéis que lo de la duración, depende de la persona.

Day 2: In the morning, without my official paparazzi I snapped a few pics with her camera -sponger mode ON- and late in the afternoon, to my surprise a big chunk of polish in my right thumb gets chipped, as well as a smaller one in the pointer. In the evening, we took some more pics -well, to be honest Marian did, and obviously not using the 'P' mode for dummies I use when I borrow her cam- to have photographic evidence of the short lifespan of this gorgeous polish on my nails, especially in my right hand. The rest was fine. I didn't have time to do anything special on the home front to justify the chipping, so obviously wear is going to be my second downside to this beautiful varnish. Though needless to say, wear depends on the person.

Hoy me gustaría enseñaros algunos de los regalos que he recibido por mi cumpleaños, que es hoy.

Primeramente, Marian me sorprendió con una esponja tipo 'Beauty Blender' de UBU, que compró en Bustillo, además de la versión de Saphir del perfume 'Flower' de Kenzo, que es mi perfume de cabecera y compró en una perfumería local.

Today I'd like to show you some of the presents I received for my birthday, which is today btw.

In the first place, Marian surprised me with a make-up sponge similar to the famous 'Beauty Blender' but from UBU and that she bought at our local beauty supply store, Bustillo, as well as a bottle of perfume inspired by 'Flower by Kenzo', which is my go-to perfume. She got that from a local drugstore / perfumery.

En Zamora, aprovechando una visita a ECI de Oportunidades del que ya os he hablado otras veces, por ejemplo *aquí*, me compré estas botas de Fornarina al módico precio de... *redoble de tambor*... ¡9 euros!. Casi salíamos por la puerta, cuando al pasar por la sección de calzado cerca de la salida, vimos que estaban colocando un montón de botas de todo tipo. Era la oferta del día. Las había en negro también, pero me gustó más cómo me quedaban estas y me cogí las moradas. Por cierto, el mejor día para ir a un ECI de Oportunidades es el jueves, que es cuando reciben género. Aún no las he estrenado, porque con el tiempecito que tenemos ahora mismo, son más adecuadas las Chiruca.





During the Easter /Holy Week holidays in Zamora, I paid a visit to the ECI Outlet and bought these Fornarina boots for the bargain price of... *drumroll*... 9 euros!. I've written other posts about this store, such as *this*. We were on our way out of the store, empty-handed when we noticed the staff were stocking the shelves with different boots. It was the day's special offer. They had these in black too, but I liked how this fitted better and grabbed a pair in purple. Btw, the best day to go to ECI Outlets is Thursday, which is when they receive their goods. I haven't worn them yet, because the best suited footwear for the lousy weather we have right now are a sturdy pair of Chiruca's.

Y una mañana San Cartero me subió un paquete de EEUU que contenía estas tres bellezas con las que Marian quiso sorprenderme. De izquierda a derecha, os presento los esmaltes #867 Love 'Em, Leave 'Em, #852 Revvvolution y #871 Wild at Heart de Color Club. Los compró en ese antro de perdición más conocido como Ebay, al vendedor beautyzone2007.

And one morning St. Postman buzzed in with a package from the US containing these three beauties Marian got for me too. Left to right, meet: #867 Love 'Em, Leave 'Em, #852 Revvvolution and #871 Wild at Heart from Color Club. She got them off the Evil Bay, aka Ebay. Seller's name is beautyzone2007.

Mis padres me dieron dinero para comprarme alguna cosilla. De momento, me he cogido un diccionario pequeño de alemán, que me da pereza llevar el que tengo a clase y siempre acabo gorroneándole a una compañera el suyo, así que me he cogido uno igual. Me falta pillarme el último disco de Roxette, el 'Travelling' (¡desde luego, no se comen la cabeza con los títulos! Está inspirado en la gira, como ya pasara con el 'Tourism' de 1992, pues entonces éste es 'Travelling').

My parents gave me money to buy myself a little something. The only stuff I got so far was a small German/Spanish dictionary, because my other one is a bit cumbersome to take to class and I -and other people in class- always end up sponging another classmate's pocket sized one, so I grabbed one for myself. I still have to get Roxette's latest album, Travelling -probably the least original album title on earth. It is inspired by their current world tour, just like 'Tourism' back in 1992 and therefore they named this 'Travelling'.

Aparte de con regalitos, lo celebraremos este fin de semana viendo varios espectáculos: el "TR3S" de flamenco con Belén Maya el día 27 y *redoble de darbuka*... el "Bombay Bellywood" de las Bellydance Superstars al día siguiente.




Besides celebrating it with presents, we'll attend two shows this weekend: the 'flamenco' show with Belén Maya on the 27th and... *doumbek drumroll*... the 'Bombay Bellywood' one from the Bellydance Superstars the next day.

UDLS / NOTW: Essence WITP? + Topcoats Essence

Por Navidad, aprovechando que mi madre tenía que ir a una consulta médica en Salamanca, le encargué que me trajera unas cosillas de Beautik *aquí*. Aún no había estrenado los esmaltes de efectos de la colección 'Remix your style', pero por fin os traigo una de las manicuras en las que los he usado.

Around Christmas, my mother had an appointment with her doctor in Salamanca and I asked her to please bring me a few things from Beautik *here*. I had not got round to using the effects topcoats from the 'Remix your Style' TE, but at long last I have one of the manis I created with them to show you.

Día 1: Por la mañana, aplico el tratamiento emoliente de cutículas de Mavala y una capa de base de P2 (en la uña del pulgar derecho, que tengo algo perjudicada con algún golpe, debajo de la de P2, una de Nail Envy). Una vez seca, una capa generosa del Where is the Party? de Essence. Pasado un rato, aplico una capa del Waking up in Vegas en todas las uñas salvo en la anular: la izquierda la dejo solo con el WITP? y la derecha con el topcoat holográfico de Essence.

Day 1: In the morning, I applied the cuticle removal treatment from Mavala and a coat of my P2 base (in my right thumb, which is a bit damaged by a bump, I put one coat of Nail Envy underneath). Once dry, a generous coat of 'Where is the Party?' from the Essence Colour&Go range. A while later, I apply a coat of the 'Waking up in Vegas' topcoat in all nails except my ring nails: on the left, I have just WITP? whereas I added one coat of the holographic Essence topcoat to my right one.

Día 2: Por la mañana, sesión de fotos. A mediodía, descubro un desconchón importante en el pulgar derecho que afecta en parte a la zona de la uña que tengo un poco perjudicada. El efecto duocromático del WITP? se sigue apreciando después del topcoat, aunque no hemos logrado capturarlo con la cámara. Este esmalte ya os lo había enseñado él solito *aquí*.

Day 2: It's time for a photoshoot in the morning. By midday, I discover a sizeable chip in my right thumb that affects mainly the part of the nail that is a bit damaged. The duochrome effect is still visible after the topcoat, though we failed to capture it on camera. I'd already shared this baby on its own *here*.

Aunque estos topcoats eran de edición limitada, Essence ha incluido otros parecidos en la colección permanente, eso sí, en el mueble de tratamiento. Si no pudistéis haceros con ellos en su momento, quizá ahora no lo tengáis tan difícil.

Despite the fact these topcoats were limited edition, Essence has launched similar ones and incorporated them into their permanent range, though as part of their nail art display only. So if you couldn't get your hands on this at the time, perhaps it's not that difficult anymore.

UDLS / NOTW: Essence 'Iced Eyes Baby' (Cristalliced LE)

Hoy me gustaría enseñaros un esmalte que incluímos en nuestra *última* entrega de parecidos razonables, el esmalte 'Iced Eyes Baby' que sacó Essence como parte de la Edición Limitada 'Cristalliced'. Fue lo único que compré de dicha colección.

Today I'd like to show you a nail polish we included in our *latest* 'Reasonable Lookalikes' series. It's called 'Iced Eyes Baby' and was released as part of the 'Cristalliced' LE by Essence. It was the only thing I got from said trend edition.

Día 1: Por la mañana, aplico una capa de la base de P2 y después, dos capas de este esmalte, no sin ciertos problemas. El pincel está todo chafado y cuesta conseguir una buena aplicación sin liarla, unido a alguna pelusa que no sé muy bien de dónde salía. Remato con una capa de SV. Quizá le haga una estampación o algo más adelante.

Day 1: In the morning, I apply one coat of my P2 base and then two of this polish, though application was far from troublefree. The brush is all wonky and getting a smooth and even coverage can be a real challenge. A stray fiber coming out of God knows where didn't help either. I topped it with a coat of SV. I may stamp or do some nail art on this later.

Día 4 (viernes): Aunque la manicura aguantó después de lavarme el pelo, tengo desconchado el esmalte en el pulgar e índice derecho, y también se ven desgastadas las puntas de esa mano. No está mal, aunque eso sí, el pincel es una m....., algo que con Essence, nunca me había pasado.

Day 4: Even though the mani survived my washing my hair, my right thumb and index nails are chipped and tipwear is also noticeable in the same hand. Not bad, but the brush is a royal piece of *hit, not something I've ever experienced with Essence before.

UDLS / NOTW: Douglas Absolute Nails 'Fireworks 15'

Hoy me gustaría enseñaros uno de los múltiples clones que afortunadamente existen ya del famoso Péridot de Chanel. Os lo enseñé hace un par de meses *aquí*.

Today I'd like to share with you one of the many dupes available now of the much-hyped Péridot from Chanel. I showed this a few months ago *here*.

Día 1: Por la noche, aplico una capa de la base rellenadora de Essence que nos mandó María. Aplico una capa de este esmalte y una de Seche Vite. Cubre muy bien y la fórmula tiene la consistencia justa y la cobertura es excelente. Aunque es algo más caro que los de Essence o Catrice, Douglas a veces tiene promociones tanto si se tiene la tarjeta de fidelidad como si no, así que siempre podéis aprovechar alguna para daros un caprichito.

Day 1: At night, I apply a coat of the ridge-filling base from Essence that we got from María. I apply one coat of this polish and topped it with another one of SV. Coverage is excellent and the formula is perfect too. Though pricewise it is not as cheap as Essence or Catrice, Douglas does sometimes have sales and discounts no matter if you have their club card or not, so you can always take those chances to treat yourself to a little something.

Día 2: Sin haber hecho nada especial, por la mañana me empezó a pelar el esmalte en la uña del dedo anular derecho, así que ahora tengo un enorme desconchón que luego tengo que retocar, ya que cubre la mitad de la punta de la uña. De duración, ciertamente mejorable, aunque no sé si haya tenido algo que ver la base utilizada. Un poco más tarde, tengo que retocar la uña del dedo medio de la mano derecha. A la noche, se me ha despegado casi por completo el esmalte en el pulgar derecho, casi como si fuera una pegatina.

Day 2: Despite not having done anything special with my hands, in the morning the polish on my right ring finger started to peel off and it leaves me with a huge chip I have to touch up, as it covers half of the nail. Wearwise, I'm indeed disappointed, though perhaps the base used had something to do with it, dunno. A while later, I have to touch up my right middle fingernail. At night the polish on my right thumb peeled off almost completely, like a sticker.

Día 3: Por la mañana, despinto con cuidado la uña del pulgar y la vuelvo a pintar, para poder estirar la manicura un poco más. Uso la base de P2 en esta ocasión.

Day 3: In the morning, I carefully took off the remaining polish on my thumb and paint it again so I can stretch this mani a tad longer. I used my P2 base this time.

Here I am again with a new post about reasonable lookalikes. It's been such a long time, huh?

Truth is this one came up entirely by chance.

En una de nuestras últimas manicuras, ambas nos decantamos por esmaltes claritos.
Yo me decidí por el esmalte de KIKO #329, y marox por el "Ice Eyes Baby" de Essence, que compró recientemente.

We both chose polishes in light shades for our manis. I chose #329 from KIKO, and marox chose 'Ice Eyes Baby', from Essence, which she bought recently.

Si miráis bien los dos botes, no parece que estos dos tonos se parezcan demasiado. La sorpresa vino cuando nos pintamos las uñas. Por eso digo que este parecido razonable ha surgido por casualidad.

If you look closer the two bottles, these two shades don't look really alike. The surprise came when we polishes our nails. That's why I say that this reasonable lookalike post happened by chance.

Yo creo que la única diferencia es que el esmalte de Essence tiene brillitos y el de KIKO no, pero por lo demás...

¿Qué pensáis? ¿Se parecen o no?

I think the only difference is that the polish from Essence has little reflections, but the one from KIKO doesn't, but apart from that...

UDLS/NOTW: Teeez! 'Smooth 01'.

Mis queridas potingueras:

Aquí vengo de nuevo con mis uñas de la semana. Esta vez tocaba un esmalte llamativo, y elegí el "Smooth 01" de Teeez!, que compramos en Amsterdam. Es un tono rosa, de efecto holográfico, pero holográfico de verdad. Digo esto porque algunas marcas ponen a sus esmaltes el calificativo de holográfico cuando en realidad es duocromo.

My beloved make-up holics:

Here I am again with my nails of the week. This time was the turn of a bold nailpolish, so I chose 'Smooth 01', from Teeez!, which we bought in Amsterdam. It's a pink shade, with holo effect, a really strong and linear holo effect. I say this because some brands describe some nailpolishes as holographic when they're actually duochrome.

Empezamos con el diario de esta manicura.

Let's start with the diary of this mani.

Primer día: Aplico una capa de la base para esmaltes holográficos de GOSH, que marox me trajo de Tallinn. Después doy dos capas finas de este esmalte, de muy fácil aplicación, por cierto (los esmaltes holográficos suelen tener mala fama en este sentido). Por último, y como siempre, Seche Vite.

First day: I apply a coat of the base from GOSH for holo polishes, which marox brought me from Tallinn. After that, I apply two thin coats of this polish, with very good application, by the way (holo polishes usually have a bad reputation in this field). And lastly, as usual, Seche Vite on top.

Segundo día: Fotos.

Este es otro de los esmaltes con los que no puedo evitar mirarme las uñas embobada. Yo creo que este efecto me hipnotiza o algo así, jeje.

Second day: Pics.

I can't stop looking at my nails, I always find myself transfixed whenever I wear this kind of nailpolishes. I think this effect mesmerizes me, lol.

Cuarto día: Empiezan a aparecer marcas de desgaste en la uña del dedo índice de la mano derecha, pero apenas es perceptible.

Fourth day: Small marks of weakening have appeared on the index finger of my right hand, but it's barely perceptible.

Quinto día: De repente han aparecido varios desconchones en varios dedos de la mano derecha (la izquierda sigue intacta), y como me voy a lavar el pelo y se me va a saltar el esmalte, prefiero quitármelo.

Fifth day: All of a sudden there are some chippings on several fingers of my right hand (my left one is still intact), and as I'm washing my hair now and the polish is going to unstick, I prefer removing it.

Después de unas cuantas manicuras con todo tipo de esmaltes, tengo cierta curiosidad por saber cuántos días más me durarían en la mano izquierda. Si os fijáis bien en mis entradas de uñas de la semana, las uñas de mi mano izquierda siguen perfectas cuando decido quitarme el esmalte. Y me da una rabia...

After several manis with every sort of polishes, I wonder how long my manis would last on my left hand. If you check out my nails of the week posts, my left hand nails still look perfect when I decide to remove the polish. It makes me so mad...

UDLS / NOTW: China Glaze 'City Siren' + Claire's

Hoy os traigo una manicura "de archivo" algo accidentada. Está visto que algunos días, tendría que mantenerme alejada de cualquier esmalte.

I have a somewhat eventful mani for you today. You see, some days I should really stay away from any nail polish bottle.




Día 1: Por la mañana, después de una capa del Nail Envy de OPI, aplico una capa generosa de este esmalte cortesía de Iris. Tengo un pequeño estropicio en el meñique izquierdo por culpa de una pelusa. El esmalte es muy pigmentado, así que supongo que podría servir como esmalte de estampación. Aplico una capa de Chip Skip, que todavía no había probado: es muy líquido y a pesar de haber esperado un rato para aplicarlo, se lleva parte del esmalte, dejando un pequeño hueco en el pulgar derecho que tengo que retocar. El Chip Skip queda además teñido de rojizo.
Después añado de una a dos capas del esmalte de Claire's de brillitos que nos mandó Iris y que Marian bautizó en su honor, que le da un toque festivo a las uñas y tapará alguna imperfección, seguido de un toque de Seche Vite.

Al rato, se me chafa el pulgar derecho (estuve cocinando un poco), pero con la de productos que me he puesto, a saber qué fue. Retoco, con sólo el City Siren.




Day 1: In the morning, after a coat of OPI's Nail Envy, I apply a generous coat of this polish, courtesy of the lovely Iris. I had some mishap on my left pinky because of a strand of fluff. This polish is very pigmented, so I guess it could do for stamping. I apply a coat of Chip Skip, that was still sitting in my untrieds: unlike other topcoats it's very watery and even though I waited a long time prior to application, the polish bleeds in the process. There was a gap in my right thumb that required a touch up. Our Chip Skip is also stained red, oops.
I later add one to two coats of the Claire's flakie polish Marian very aptly baptized as Iris. It gives this mani a lovely festive touch and also disguises imperfections, followed by some Seche Vite.

A while later, after some messing around in the kitchen, my right thumb has chipped, but considering all the stuff I put into this mani, heaven knows what caused it. I do a touch-up, but only with City Siren.



No recuerdo cuantos días me duró y cosa rara, no lo apunté tampoco. Me pareció un rojo superfavorecedor.

I don't remember how long I wore this for and didn't write it down either. I thought this was a most flattering red.

UDLS/NOTW: Manhattan '68A'.

Hola de nuevo:

Aquí vengo con mis uñas de la semana. Esta vez, con el esmalte de Manhattan 68A (ya le podían haber puesto un nombre, en vez de un número).

En el envase se ve más el color (un lila muy clarito, con pequeños reflejos en rosa y azul), de lo que luego se ve en las uñas, pues la cobertura es muy, muy ligera.

Here I am with my nails of the week. This time, with the polish from Manhattan 68A (a name would be better than a number).

The colour (a very light lilac, with small pink and blue reflections) can be seen better in the bottle than on the nails, because it is very sheer.

Primer día: aplico una capa del sellador de uñas de Essence, dos capas finas de este esmalte, y como siempre, Seche Vite encima.

First day: I apply a coat of the nail sealer from Essence, then two thin coats of this polish, and, as usual, Seche Vite on top.

Tercer día: Fotos.

Third day: Pics.

Cuarto día: Aparece un desconchón en el dedo medio de la mano derecha. Después me he lavado el pelo, y no ha ido a más, pero no sé cuánto aguantará. Como el esmalte es tan clarito, el desconchón no se nota mucho, así que de momento no me quitaré el esmalte.

Fourth day: A chipping appears on the right hand middle finger. After noticing this, I've washed my hair, and it has not become bigger, but I don't know how long it will last. The chipping is not too visible, as the polish is so light, so I won't remove it yet.

Quinto día: Muy al principio de este quinto día, el esmalte se ha empezado a levantar como una pegatina. Casi me lo podría quitar rascando con las uñas, pero esta vez no lo voy a hacer. Esperé a llegar a casa para quitármelo.

Fifth day: On the very beginning of this fifth day, the polish has begun to unstick like a sticker. I could remove it by scratching with my nails, but I'm not doing it this time. I waited for being at home to remove it.

Creo que este esmalte sería perfecto para "layering", pero todavía no lo he probado de esta manera.

Y ahora... a pensar en mi próxima manicura.

I think this polish would be perfect for layering, but I still haven't tried it that way.

And now, it's time to think of my next mani.

UDLS/NOTW: P2 'So cool!'.

Después de haber dejado descansar un poco mis uñas, vuelvo con una nueva manicura.

En esta ocasión, con el esmalte de P2 (vaya nombrecito) "So cool!", que compramos en Berlín, y que todavía tenía por estrenar (ya van quedando menos).

Yo lo definiría como un color azul eléctrico metalizado, y la verdad es que me encanta cómo queda.

After having given my nails a break for a while, I'm back here with a new mani.

This time, with the nailpolish 'So cool!', from P2 (I won't say what it means in Spanish), which we bought in Berlin, and was on queue for a first use (this queue is getting smaller).

I'd define its shade as a metallic electric blue, and the truth is that I love how it looks.

Primer día: Para esta manicura apliqué una capa de Nail Envy de OPI, después dos finas capas de este esmalte, y finalmente una capa de Seche Vite.

First day: For this mani I applied a coat of Nail Envy from OPI, then two thin coats of this polish, and finally a coat of Seche Vite on top.

Segundo día: Fotos.

Second day: Pics.

Tercer día: Esta manicura ha resistido perfectamente un lavado de pelo. Ningún desconchón.

Third day: This mani keeps still in perfect conditions after a hair wash, without any chipping.

Cuarto día: Aparece un pequeño desconchón en el dedo índice de la mano izquierda. Teniendo en cuenta que soy diestra, es raro, ¿verdad?

Fourth day: A small chipping appears on the left hand index finger. Considering I'm right-handed, it's weird, isn't it?

Quinto día: Empiezan a aparecer más desconchones en todas las uñas, y de pronto, el esmalte de la uña de los dedos índice y medio de la mano derecha empieza a despegarse como una pegatina.

Así que creo que ha llegado el momento de retirarlo.

Fifth day: Many more chippings start appearing on all the nails, and suddenly, the polish on my right index and middle fingers begins to peel off like a sticker. So I think it's time to remove it.

Me ha encantado este esmalte, no sólo por el color, como os he dicho antes, sino también por su durabilidad, y sobre todo, por su precio. Ojalá los vendieran en España; eso sí, con otro nombre, porque si no, las bromitas estarían aseguradas.

I like this polish very much, not just for its shade, as I told you before, but also for its durability, and above all, for its price. Wish they were sold in Spain, but with another name, of course, because if not, jokes would surely be made.

Hoy vengo con un post de archivo, con una pedicura que lucí hace ya varios meses. Por desgracia, tardaré bastante en poderme volver a pintar las uñas de los pies. :(

I'm back with another 'from the vault' post, with a pedi I sported a few months ago. Unfortunately it'll be some time before I can polish my toes again. :(
I'll soon tell you why.




Aplico una capa de la base de calcio de Basic. Como la cobertura de este esmalte es bastante buena, sólo necesito una capita. No aplico topcoat, ya que me apetece hacer una estampación con alguno de los motivos de las placas de Sarah.
Al día siguiente, Marian utiliza uno de los diseños de las placas de Sarah y el stampy negro de Essence. Quizá deberíamos haber escogido algún diseño más grande. Aplico SV en los dedos gordos.




I apply a coat of Marian's calcium gel from Basic. As the coverage of this polish is very good, this pedi is a one coater. No topcoat, because I feel like trying out some image from the plates we got from Sarah.
The next day, Marian used one of the designs in Sarah's plates and the black Stampy from Essence. Maybe we should have used a bigger image. SV in my big toe nails.

Aquí vengo otra vez con mis uñas de la semana; esta vez con el esmalte de Douglas "Sara 07", en un tono que yo definiría como blanco perlado con reflejos dorados.

I'm here again with my nails of the week; this time with the polish 'Sara 07' from Douglas, in a shade I'd define as a pearly white with golden reflections.




Para esta manicura apliqué una capa de Nail Sealer de Essence, que nos envió María, y encima 2 capas finas de este esmalte, y para terminar, como siempre, Seche Vite.

For this mani I applied a coat of Nail Sealer from Essence, which María sent us, and 2 thin coats of this polish, and Seche Vite on top to finish.

Las fotos que os enseño están hechas al tercer día de esta manicura, que soportó perfectamente un lavado de pelo por la mañana. Por la tarde, se empieza a despegar como una pegatina, así que decido quitármelo.



The pics I'm showing you were taken the third day of this mani, which remained perfect after a hair wash in the morning. In the evening, it started to peel off like a sticker, so I decide to remove it.

Hoy os traigo una entrada rapidita para enseñaros uno de los esmaltes que nos envío Iris, también conocida como PolishAMOR.
Se trata del tono 'Urban Night' de la colección 'Metro (Uptown)', un precioso morado de acabado cremoso.

I'm back with a short & sweet post to show you one of the polishes we got from Iris, aka PolishAMOR.
'Urban Night' was released with the 'Metro (Uptown) LE from China Glaze and it's a gorgeous deep purple with a creamy finish.


Base: Nail Envy OPI
1-2 capas / 1-2 coats
Sin topcoat / No topcoat.

Miércoles rosa / Pink Wednesday: Teeez 'Smooth 01'

Hoy vengo con una entrada rapidita, para enseñaros uno de los esmaltes holográficos que compramos en Amsterdam de la marca holandesa Teeez. Os lo habíamos enseñado brevemente en *este* post.

I have a short & sweet post for you today, namely to show you one of the holo lacquers we bought in Amsterdam from the Dutch brand Teeez. We'd briefly shown this *here*.




Día 1: Por la mañana, aplico una capa del Nail Envy y después una fina capa del Fix Base de Gosh. Una vez seca, aplico una capa generosa del Smooth 01 de Teeez. Aunque no pensaba, al final aplico SV, ya que según se secaba o con el roce, daba la impresión de que perdía algo de brillo.

Day 1: In the morning, I apply first a coat on Nail Envy and then a thin one of Fix Base from Gosh. Once dry, I apply a generous coat of Smooth 01 by Teeez. Though I initially didn't mean to, I apply SV, as I noticed it had lost some of the glossiness while drying.




Día 3: Tras una mañana de cocinillas, lo que era una manicura en perfecto estado presenta desconchones importantes en varias uñas. Me las despinto al final del día.

Day 3: After spending the morning in the kitchen, my until then perfect mani got ruined with big chips in several nails. I took it off at the end of the day.

¡GOSH en Marionnaud! - GOSH in Spanish Marionnaud perfumeries!

¿Qué tal habéis empezado el 2012? Espero que mejor que yo... con un virus estomacal. ¡Ni las uvas me pude tomar! Afortunadamente, ya pasó.
Estoy pasando estas fiestas en casa de mis padres en mi tierra. Aprovechando que tenía un ratito libre mientras esperaba a una persona, hice un breve potitour por una de las perfumerías Marionnaud que hay aquí -no hay ninguna donde mi hermana- y no podía creer lo que veían mis ojos: un stand de GOSH, marca que vi tanto en mi viaje a Tallin en julio como en septiembre con Marian en Ámsterdam.
Afortunadamente puedo decir que no se han pasado mucho con los precios (como sucede con OPI o L'Oreal sin ir más lejos), ya que estaba un euro o así más cara que en Tallin.
Doy gracias a las cámaras de los móviles (ADORO mi Nokia XPress Music), ya que así tengo prueba fotográfica-modo Spycam ON- que demuestre que no me he vuelto loca ni os estoy vacilando.

Did you have a good start to the year? I hope you started it better than I did, with a tummy bug. I couldn't even eat my 12 grapes -Spanish New Year's Eve custom- at midnight! But thankfully I'm quite recovered now.
I'm spending the Xmas holidays in my hometown, at my parents'. I had some minutes to wait before meeting someone and headed to one of the Marionnaud perfumeries stores here - there are none at my sister's- to pass the time. I couldn't believe my eyes: right in front of me, a full display of GOSH makeup, a brand I first saw in Tallinn last July and then in Amsterdam with my sister. Unlike with other brands being brought or sold here (namely, OPI or L'Oreal), it has not been too overpriced, as things were about a euro more expensive than in Tallinn. Thank God for smartphones with built-in cameras (LOVE my Nokia XPress Music, lol), as I thus have photographic evidence -Spycam mode ON- to back my words and prove I have neither lost my wits nor am pulling your leg.




Ignoro si la habrán traido a todas las tiendas o sólo a las más grandes. Zamora no es precisamente una gran ciudad, así que si han llegado hasta aquí no perdéis nada por acercaros a vuestra perfumería Marionnaud más cercana *ver buscador*. De las tres perfumerías que hay aquí, sólo la he visto en una.

I have no idea if the brand is now available in all their stores nationwide or can only be found in the larger ones. Zamora is not exactly a big city, so if they've made it here I'd be hopeful and check out the nearest Marionnaud store *see store locator*. They only have it on one of the three stores we have here.

También eché un breve vistazo a otra de las novedades de Marionnaud que ya habréis visto en otros blogs (por ejemplo, en el de Miss Potingues): los miniesmaltes de la nueva marca Marionnaud. Pensé que serían más grandes (¡lo que engaña el modo macro!), pero sólo contienen 5 ml y cuestan casi 4 euros. Hay testers y aviso que hay un clon del Morning Rose de Chanel. Se llama "Candy Rose". Lamentablemente, los esmaltes de su marca no aparecen en la tienda online y no hay mucha información sobre ellos en los blogs.
Tampoco pude hacer foto, tenían el ministand justo donde la caja y habría "cantado" mucho (como es lógico, prefiero hacerlas más "de estrangis").

I also briefly checked out another of the latest releases from Marionnaud that you may have seen around in the blogs (Miss Potingues, for instance wrote about them): the nail polish minis from their own new line of cosmetics. I thought they'd be bigger (Geez! Macro shots are deceiving!) but they are only 5ml and are almost 4 EUR. They have testers and I have a dupe alert for you, ladies: they have a Chanel 'Morning Rose' dupe called 'Candy Rose'. Unfortunately, there's no info at all about them on their online store and not much in the blogs either. I couldn't take any pics either, as the mini display was right next to the checkout and would have been too obvious (and I prefer to go unnoticed when taking sneaky, undercover pics, you know).

Bueno, os traigo mi manicura de la semana, esta vez con el esmalte "Midnight Passion" de H&M y un esmalte con glitter de Claire's, cuyo nombre es imposible saber, así que he decidido bautizarlo como "Iris", haciendo honor a la persona que nos lo regaló.

Well, today I'm showing you my mani for this week; this time with the 'Midnight Passion' polish from H&M and a polish with glitter from Claire's, whose name is impossible to know, so I decided to name it 'Iris', in honor of the person who gave it to us.

Primer día: Pues bien, para esta manicura, apliqué primero una capa de Nail Envy de OPI (la versión mini que nos regaló María), luego una capa gruesa (no demasiado) del esmalte de H&M. Esperé a que se secara para aplicar una capa del esmalte "Iris" de Claire's, y después una capa de Seche Vite.

First day: OK, for this mani I applied a coat of Nail Envy from OPI (the mini version María gave us), then a thick coat (not too much thick) of the H&M polish. I waited until it got dried before applying a coat of the 'Iris' polish from Claire's, and a coat of Seche Vite on top.

Segundo día/Second day: Fotos/Pics.

Tercer día: Tengo un pequeño desconchón en el dedo medio de la mano derecha. El resto, en perfecto estado.

Third day: I've got a small chipping in the right hand middle finger. The rest of the nails, in perfect conditions.

Cuarto día: Otro pequeño desconchón, ahora en el dedo índice de la mano derecha.

Fourth day: Another small chipping, this time in the right hand index finger.

Quinto día: El desconchón se ha hecho enorme, así que me quito el esmalte.

Fifth day: The chipping has become so huge that I decide to remove the polish.

Aprovecho esta entrada, en la que os enseño mi última manicura de 2011, para desearos un Feliz Año, mejor que este año que hoy termina (¡qué difícil!).

UDLS / NOTW: Catrice '620 Captain Sparrow's Boat'

Hoy me gustaría enseñaros otro de los esmaltes que compré en Ámsterdam, en una de las visitas que hicimos a las droguerías Kruidvat de las que *ya os hablé* en su día.

Today I'd like to show you one of the polishes I bought in Amsterdam, from one of our visits to the local drugstore Kruidvat I told you about in a *post* at the time.

Dia 1: Por la mañana, aplico una capa de la base para prevenir el capeado de Essence que nos mandó María de Todos los esmaltes son pocos en el *intercambio* que hicimos. Más tarde, aplico una capa bastante generosa de este esmalte, no sin algunos problemas -rocé un par de uñas y tuve que retocar, el pincel pilló una pelusa. Remato con SV, también del intercambio.

Se dice que este esmalte de Catrice es el clon del famoso 'Black Pearl' de Chanel.

Day 1: In the morning, I applied a coat of the Essence basecoat that María from Todos los esmaltes son pocos kindly sent us as part of our *swap*. Later, I applied a generous coat of this polish with some problems – I grazed a couple of nails and had to do a touch-up and then the brush caught some fiber, lol. I topped it all with some SV, also from our swap with TLESP.

This lacquer is said to be a dupe of the famous 'Black Pearl' from Chanel.

Día 2: Tengo desconchones en el pulgar e índice derecho, por lo que de duración este esmalte, más bien regular. No he hecho nada especial, así que tendría que haber aguantado algo mejor.

Day 2: My right thumb and index fingers show some chipping, so this polish did not fare very well wearwise. I haven't done anything special, so it should have done a bit better.

Día 3: Aunque intenté retocar algunas uñas, los desconchones han ido a más, así que me las quito.

Day 3: Despite an attempt at touching up some nails, chipping has got worse so I took this off.

Espero que estéis pasando bien las fiestas, en familia y descansando aunque cometiendo algún pequeño exceso navideño.
El día 23 aprovechando que íbamos al centro comercial a comprar, hicimos una visitilla rápida al Douglas a ver si tenían algo interesante y resultó que sí.

I hope you're having a great holiday, with your family and charging up your batteries. And indulging in too many Christmas delicacies, most likely.
On the 23rd, we paid a quick visit to the local Douglas drugstore/perfumerie, which happens to be inside the mall where we went to for some groceries. Not really knowing if there'd be anything interesting, it turned out they did have some interesting stuff.

Hace poco descubrí un nuevo blog alemán, Candy Glaze, donde mencionaban que las droguerías Douglas habían sacado su propia línea de esmaltes de uñas: Absolute Nails. En otras visitas a Douglas ya había visto que tenían unos miniesmaltes (similares a los de Deliplus de 1€ que os enseñé en su día), así como algún brillo de labios. No tenía demasiadas esperanzas de que los esmaltes de los que hablaban en aquel blog hubieran llegado a España y pensaba que de ser así, tardarían aún unos cuantos meses. Pero como podéis ver en las siguientes fotos, ¡estaba equivocada!.




I recently discovered a German blog, Candy Glaze, and in one of their latest posts they mentioned Douglas drugstores/perfumeries had just released their own line of nail polishes, Absolute Nails. In previous visits to our local Douglas, I noticed they did have some mini polishes (similar to the ones released last summer by Deliplus for just 1 EUR), as well as a few lipglosses. My expectations were not too high when we walked into the store, as I wasn't very hopeful these goodies had made it into Spain yet and thought that would take at least a couple of months. But as you can tell from the following undercover pics, I was wrong!!



La colección de esmaltes (hay testers) de la primera foto, incluye clones de varios esmaltes de Chanel, entre ellos el famoso Paradoxal, Black Pearl, Pearl Drop y Péridot *ver lista*. Traen 11 ml y cuestan 4,95 € cada uno. Como ya habréis deducido por la entrada de este post, no me pude ir con las manos vacías.
Douglas le había mandado a Marian un par de días antes un descuento vía SMS que se olvidó de presentar. ¿Será porque pagaba yo? ;)




The nail polish collection -there are testers- in the first pic includes dupes for several Chanel polishes, among them the famous Paradoxal, Black Pearl, Pearl Drop and Péridot *see list*. They contain 11 ml and cost 4.95 EUR each. As you've probably gathered from the title, I couldn't just leave the store empty-handed.
Marian had received an SMS from Douglas a couple of days earlier with a promotional discount she forgot to show. Was it because I was paying? ;)

Y esto fue lo que me autorregalé, con más detalle. En primer lugar, el esmalte 'Fireworks 15', clon del famosísimo 'Péridot' de Chanel. Puesto que no tengo el de Chanel no os podré ofrecer una comparativa en toda regla ni sé qué porcentaje de parecido tiene con el original, pero sí os puedo decir que mi anhelo por el Péridot se ve perfectamente satisfecho con esta compra.

And this is what I bought myself, in detail. First meet 'Fireworks 15 ' dupe of the überfamous Péridot from Chanel. As I don't have the Chanel one, I'm afraid I won't be able to offer you a proper comparison between the two and ignore how good a dupe (i.e. % of likeness they have) this is, but I am in a position to tell you that my lemming for Péridot is perfectly fulfilled with this purchase.



Por último, el esmalte 'Sara 07', clon del 'Pearl Drop' también de Chanel. Aún no los he estrenado, pero prometo presentároslos debidamente en cuanto me sea posible.

And finally, meet 'Sara 07', dupe for 'Pearl Drop' also from Chanel. I haven't worn any of them yet, but I promise to make the perfunctory introductions as soon as I can.
