UDLS/NOTW: Catrice 'Wine-tastic'+Essence 'Circus Confetti'.

Aquí vengo con mis uñas de la semana. Cuando os enseñé mi última manicura os dije que la próxima vez os traería un dueto alemán. Pues bien, aquí está.

Hi again,

Here I am with my nails of the week. When I showed you my latest mani, I told you that next time I'd bring you a 'German duet'. Well, here it is.

Para esta manicura he utilizado como base el Nail Envy de OPI. Después, dos capas finas del "Wine-tastic" (pues con una el color no queda homogéneo). Esperé a que se secara para aplicar el "Circus Confetti". Y para terminar, Seche Vite encima.

For this mani I have used Nail Envy from OPI as a base. After that, two thin coats of 'Wine-tastic' (because one coat wasn't enough for a full coverage). I waited for it to get dry before applying 'Circus Confetti'. And finally, Seche Vite on top.

Las fotos están hechas al día siguiente.

Estaba toda empeñada en demostrar que el "Wine-tastic" no es negro, como parece a simple vista en las uñas, y en algunas fotos del envase. Me costó, pero lo conseguí. Y aquí tenéis la prueba.

I took the pics the following day.
I was determined to prove that 'Wine-tastic' is not black, as it seems on the nails, and on some bottle pics. It was hard, but I finally managed to do it. So here is the evidence.

En cuanto a la duración de esta manicura, ha aguantado 4 días perfecta, hasta que me he lavado el pelo. Entonces ha sido cuando ha empezado a desconcharse el esmalte en algunas uñas de la mano derecha. La izquierda, como siempre, intacta.

Talking about lasting, this mani has remained perfect for 4 days, until I washed my hair. Then, some chippings on some nails of my right hand have appeared. The left one is still intact, as usual.

Como el esmalte es muy oscuro, los desconchones se notan, aunque sean pequeños. Por esta razón decido quitármelo, aunque he tenido que armarme de paciencia, porque no es fácil de quitar.

As this polish is very dark, chippings are noticeable, although they're small. That's why I decide to remove it, but I've had to be really patient, because it's not easy to remove.

He cortado unos cuantos discos de algodón a la mitad, y los he empapado en quitaesmalte. Los he puesto sobre las uñas y me he envuelto los dedos en papel de aluminio. Después de unos minutos, sólo tienes que quitar el envoltorio y listo. Ha quedado algún resto, pero ya ha sido más fácil de eliminar de la forma habitual. De esto no tengo fotos, pero seguro que encontraréis por la red un montón de tutoriales de cómo se hace.

I've cut some cotton pads in half, and I've poured nail polish remover on them. I've put on the nails and I've wrapped up my fingers with aluminium foil. After some minutes, you just have to take the wrapper out and done. There's been some traces left, but they have been easier to remove the usual way. I didn't take any pics of this, but you'll surely find lots of tutorials on the net about how to do remove polish using the foil method.

Ahora dejaré descansar mis uñas unos días, y después... No tengo ni idea.

Now I'll give my nails a break and then... I have no idea.

UDLS/NOTW: KIKO #246.

Aquí vengo con mis uñas de la semana. Esta vez con el esmalte 246 de KIKO, que compré en el pedido que hicimos a su página web, y que os enseñamos *aquí*. Definiría el color como burdeos con reflejos multicolores. Me encanta. Se puede decir más alto, pero no más claro.

Here I am again with my nails of the week. This time with the polish #246 from KIKO, which I bought online, as we showed you *here*. I'd describe this shade as burgundy red with multicolour reflections. I love it. I could say it louder, but not clearer.

Sin más dilación, empiezo con el diario de esta manicura.

Without further ado, I'll start with the diary of this mani.

Primer día: Aplico una capa de Chip Skip de OPI, que nos envió María, de Todos los esmaltes son pocos. La sensación que deja en las uñas es como si te las hubieras frotado con alcohol: sin brillo y con pequeñas marquitas blancas.

Después aplico dos capas finas de este esmalte, y por último, Seche Vite encima.

Tengo la ligera impresión de que el efecto no es tan brillante como en otras manicuras, pero no sé si es por el esmalte o por el Chip Skip que usé como base.

First day: I apply one coat of Chip Skip from OPI, which María, from 'Todos los esmaltes son pocos' sent us. It leaves a dry feeling on your nails, just like if you had scrubbed them with rubbing alcohol: without shine and with small white marks.

After that I apply two thin coats of this polish, and Seche Vite on top.

I have the vague feeling that the effect isn't so shiny as in other manis, but I don't know if it's due to the polish itself or to Chip Skip, which I used as a base coat.

Segundo día: Fotos. Second day: Pics.

Tercer día: Parece que pasan la prueba del lavado de pelo, que es cuando generalmente se echan a perder las manicuras.

Al final del tercer día, veo un pequeño desconchón en el dedo medio de la mano derecha, pero el esmalte no se despega, como otras veces. ¿Será por el Chip Skip?

Third day: it seems to pass the hair wash test, when all the manicures usually get ruined.

At the end of the third day, I see a small chipping on my right-hand middle finger, but the polish doesn't get unstuck, as usual. Could it be due to Chip Skip?

Cuarto día: El desconchón es cada vez más grande, y aparecen otros más pequeños en otras uñas, por lo que decido retirarme el esmalte.

Fourth day: The chipping is becoming bigger and bigger, and I have some more on other nails; that's why I decide to remove the polish.

Pensando en cuál será mi próxima manicura, creo que me decidiré por un "dueto alemán". Ya os contaré.

As for my next mani, I'll probably choose a 'German duet'. I'll tell you soon.

UDLS / NOTW: Douglas Absolute Nails 'Fireworks 15'

Hoy me gustaría enseñaros uno de los múltiples clones que afortunadamente existen ya del famoso Péridot de Chanel. Os lo enseñé hace un par de meses *aquí*.

Today I'd like to share with you one of the many dupes available now of the much-hyped Péridot from Chanel. I showed this a few months ago *here*.

Día 1: Por la noche, aplico una capa de la base rellenadora de Essence que nos mandó María. Aplico una capa de este esmalte y una de Seche Vite. Cubre muy bien y la fórmula tiene la consistencia justa y la cobertura es excelente. Aunque es algo más caro que los de Essence o Catrice, Douglas a veces tiene promociones tanto si se tiene la tarjeta de fidelidad como si no, así que siempre podéis aprovechar alguna para daros un caprichito.

Day 1: At night, I apply a coat of the ridge-filling base from Essence that we got from María. I apply one coat of this polish and topped it with another one of SV. Coverage is excellent and the formula is perfect too. Though pricewise it is not as cheap as Essence or Catrice, Douglas does sometimes have sales and discounts no matter if you have their club card or not, so you can always take those chances to treat yourself to a little something.

Día 2: Sin haber hecho nada especial, por la mañana me empezó a pelar el esmalte en la uña del dedo anular derecho, así que ahora tengo un enorme desconchón que luego tengo que retocar, ya que cubre la mitad de la punta de la uña. De duración, ciertamente mejorable, aunque no sé si haya tenido algo que ver la base utilizada. Un poco más tarde, tengo que retocar la uña del dedo medio de la mano derecha. A la noche, se me ha despegado casi por completo el esmalte en el pulgar derecho, casi como si fuera una pegatina.

Day 2: Despite not having done anything special with my hands, in the morning the polish on my right ring finger started to peel off and it leaves me with a huge chip I have to touch up, as it covers half of the nail. Wearwise, I'm indeed disappointed, though perhaps the base used had something to do with it, dunno. A while later, I have to touch up my right middle fingernail. At night the polish on my right thumb peeled off almost completely, like a sticker.

Día 3: Por la mañana, despinto con cuidado la uña del pulgar y la vuelvo a pintar, para poder estirar la manicura un poco más. Uso la base de P2 en esta ocasión.

Day 3: In the morning, I carefully took off the remaining polish on my thumb and paint it again so I can stretch this mani a tad longer. I used my P2 base this time.

UDLS / NOTW: Apple Bottoms – Club Queen

Hoy vengo con una manicura de archivo, puesto que este esmalte lo usé allá por el mes de noviembre. Fue uno de los esmaltes que nos mandó PolishAMOR en nuestro primer intercambio.




I'm back with a 'from the vault' mani, as I actually wore this back in November. It was one of the polishes PolishAMOR kindly sent us in our first swap.

Día 1: El día anterior, por la noche, había aplicado una capa del endurecedor de Mavala, que no nos ha emocionado especialmente ni a Marian ni a mí. Aplico una capa de la base de P2 y cuando está seca, dos capas algo generosas de este esmalte. No es demasiado cubriente, así que será un buen candidato para hacer una sutil estampación encima u otro tipo de decoración. Huele bastante fuerte, como a la pintura de señalización de carreteras, creo que no tengo ninguno que huela más. El anular izquierdo sufre un pequeño accidente y retoco. Al terminar de ducharme horas después, descubro marquitas en las uñas. Mis impresiones sobre este esmalte no son muy positivas de momento, como ya habréis deducido.

Day 1: The day before, at night, I'd already applied one coat of Mavala's nail hardener, which did not make a strong impression neither on Marian nor myself. I apply a coat of P2's Base and once dry, two generous coats of this polish. Coverage is not very impressive, so it could be a good candidate to be stamped on or for some other sort of nail art. It smells a lot, it actually reminds me of road paint, making it probably my strongest smelling lacquer. My left ring fingernail has a minor damage and I touched it up. After a shower a few hours later, I discover some marks on my nails. As you've probably noticed, I'm not very taken by it.

Creo que no me aguantó mucho puesto. Y como la entrada ha quedado un poco corta, os dejo con un poco de buena música.

I think it didn't last long on my nails either. And as the post was rather short, I'm off with some more good music for your ears.

UDLS/NOTW: Teeez! 'Smooth 01'.

Mis queridas potingueras:

Aquí vengo de nuevo con mis uñas de la semana. Esta vez tocaba un esmalte llamativo, y elegí el "Smooth 01" de Teeez!, que compramos en Amsterdam. Es un tono rosa, de efecto holográfico, pero holográfico de verdad. Digo esto porque algunas marcas ponen a sus esmaltes el calificativo de holográfico cuando en realidad es duocromo.

My beloved make-up holics:

Here I am again with my nails of the week. This time was the turn of a bold nailpolish, so I chose 'Smooth 01', from Teeez!, which we bought in Amsterdam. It's a pink shade, with holo effect, a really strong and linear holo effect. I say this because some brands describe some nailpolishes as holographic when they're actually duochrome.

Empezamos con el diario de esta manicura.

Let's start with the diary of this mani.

Primer día: Aplico una capa de la base para esmaltes holográficos de GOSH, que marox me trajo de Tallinn. Después doy dos capas finas de este esmalte, de muy fácil aplicación, por cierto (los esmaltes holográficos suelen tener mala fama en este sentido). Por último, y como siempre, Seche Vite.

First day: I apply a coat of the base from GOSH for holo polishes, which marox brought me from Tallinn. After that, I apply two thin coats of this polish, with very good application, by the way (holo polishes usually have a bad reputation in this field). And lastly, as usual, Seche Vite on top.

Segundo día: Fotos.

Este es otro de los esmaltes con los que no puedo evitar mirarme las uñas embobada. Yo creo que este efecto me hipnotiza o algo así, jeje.

Second day: Pics.

I can't stop looking at my nails, I always find myself transfixed whenever I wear this kind of nailpolishes. I think this effect mesmerizes me, lol.

Cuarto día: Empiezan a aparecer marcas de desgaste en la uña del dedo índice de la mano derecha, pero apenas es perceptible.

Fourth day: Small marks of weakening have appeared on the index finger of my right hand, but it's barely perceptible.

Quinto día: De repente han aparecido varios desconchones en varios dedos de la mano derecha (la izquierda sigue intacta), y como me voy a lavar el pelo y se me va a saltar el esmalte, prefiero quitármelo.

Fifth day: All of a sudden there are some chippings on several fingers of my right hand (my left one is still intact), and as I'm washing my hair now and the polish is going to unstick, I prefer removing it.

Después de unas cuantas manicuras con todo tipo de esmaltes, tengo cierta curiosidad por saber cuántos días más me durarían en la mano izquierda. Si os fijáis bien en mis entradas de uñas de la semana, las uñas de mi mano izquierda siguen perfectas cuando decido quitarme el esmalte. Y me da una rabia...

After several manis with every sort of polishes, I wonder how long my manis would last on my left hand. If you check out my nails of the week posts, my left hand nails still look perfect when I decide to remove the polish. It makes me so mad...

UDLS / NOTW: China Glaze 'City Siren' + Claire's

Hoy os traigo una manicura "de archivo" algo accidentada. Está visto que algunos días, tendría que mantenerme alejada de cualquier esmalte.

I have a somewhat eventful mani for you today. You see, some days I should really stay away from any nail polish bottle.




Día 1: Por la mañana, después de una capa del Nail Envy de OPI, aplico una capa generosa de este esmalte cortesía de Iris. Tengo un pequeño estropicio en el meñique izquierdo por culpa de una pelusa. El esmalte es muy pigmentado, así que supongo que podría servir como esmalte de estampación. Aplico una capa de Chip Skip, que todavía no había probado: es muy líquido y a pesar de haber esperado un rato para aplicarlo, se lleva parte del esmalte, dejando un pequeño hueco en el pulgar derecho que tengo que retocar. El Chip Skip queda además teñido de rojizo.
Después añado de una a dos capas del esmalte de Claire's de brillitos que nos mandó Iris y que Marian bautizó en su honor, que le da un toque festivo a las uñas y tapará alguna imperfección, seguido de un toque de Seche Vite.

Al rato, se me chafa el pulgar derecho (estuve cocinando un poco), pero con la de productos que me he puesto, a saber qué fue. Retoco, con sólo el City Siren.




Day 1: In the morning, after a coat of OPI's Nail Envy, I apply a generous coat of this polish, courtesy of the lovely Iris. I had some mishap on my left pinky because of a strand of fluff. This polish is very pigmented, so I guess it could do for stamping. I apply a coat of Chip Skip, that was still sitting in my untrieds: unlike other topcoats it's very watery and even though I waited a long time prior to application, the polish bleeds in the process. There was a gap in my right thumb that required a touch up. Our Chip Skip is also stained red, oops.
I later add one to two coats of the Claire's flakie polish Marian very aptly baptized as Iris. It gives this mani a lovely festive touch and also disguises imperfections, followed by some Seche Vite.

A while later, after some messing around in the kitchen, my right thumb has chipped, but considering all the stuff I put into this mani, heaven knows what caused it. I do a touch-up, but only with City Siren.



No recuerdo cuantos días me duró y cosa rara, no lo apunté tampoco. Me pareció un rojo superfavorecedor.

I don't remember how long I wore this for and didn't write it down either. I thought this was a most flattering red.

UDLS/NOTW: Manhattan '68A'.

Hola de nuevo:

Aquí vengo con mis uñas de la semana. Esta vez, con el esmalte de Manhattan 68A (ya le podían haber puesto un nombre, en vez de un número).

En el envase se ve más el color (un lila muy clarito, con pequeños reflejos en rosa y azul), de lo que luego se ve en las uñas, pues la cobertura es muy, muy ligera.

Hi again,

Here I am with my nails of the week. This time, with the polish from Manhattan 68A (a name would be better than a number).

The colour (a very light lilac, with small pink and blue reflections) can be seen better in the bottle than on the nails, because it is very sheer.

Primer día: aplico una capa del sellador de uñas de Essence, dos capas finas de este esmalte, y como siempre, Seche Vite encima.

First day: I apply a coat of the nail sealer from Essence, then two thin coats of this polish, and, as usual, Seche Vite on top.

Tercer día: Fotos.

Third day: Pics.

Cuarto día: Aparece un desconchón en el dedo medio de la mano derecha. Después me he lavado el pelo, y no ha ido a más, pero no sé cuánto aguantará. Como el esmalte es tan clarito, el desconchón no se nota mucho, así que de momento no me quitaré el esmalte.

Fourth day: A chipping appears on the right hand middle finger. After noticing this, I've washed my hair, and it has not become bigger, but I don't know how long it will last. The chipping is not too visible, as the polish is so light, so I won't remove it yet.

Quinto día: Muy al principio de este quinto día, el esmalte se ha empezado a levantar como una pegatina. Casi me lo podría quitar rascando con las uñas, pero esta vez no lo voy a hacer. Esperé a llegar a casa para quitármelo.

Fifth day: On the very beginning of this fifth day, the polish has begun to unstick like a sticker. I could remove it by scratching with my nails, but I'm not doing it this time. I waited for being at home to remove it.

Creo que este esmalte sería perfecto para "layering", pero todavía no lo he probado de esta manera.

Y ahora... a pensar en mi próxima manicura.

I think this polish would be perfect for layering, but I still haven't tried it that way.

And now, it's time to think of my next mani.

UDLS/NOTW: P2 'So cool!'.

Después de haber dejado descansar un poco mis uñas, vuelvo con una nueva manicura.

En esta ocasión, con el esmalte de P2 (vaya nombrecito) "So cool!", que compramos en Berlín, y que todavía tenía por estrenar (ya van quedando menos).

Yo lo definiría como un color azul eléctrico metalizado, y la verdad es que me encanta cómo queda.

After having given my nails a break for a while, I'm back here with a new mani.

This time, with the nailpolish 'So cool!', from P2 (I won't say what it means in Spanish), which we bought in Berlin, and was on queue for a first use (this queue is getting smaller).

I'd define its shade as a metallic electric blue, and the truth is that I love how it looks.

Primer día: Para esta manicura apliqué una capa de Nail Envy de OPI, después dos finas capas de este esmalte, y finalmente una capa de Seche Vite.

First day: For this mani I applied a coat of Nail Envy from OPI, then two thin coats of this polish, and finally a coat of Seche Vite on top.

Segundo día: Fotos.

Second day: Pics.

Tercer día: Esta manicura ha resistido perfectamente un lavado de pelo. Ningún desconchón.

Third day: This mani keeps still in perfect conditions after a hair wash, without any chipping.

Cuarto día: Aparece un pequeño desconchón en el dedo índice de la mano izquierda. Teniendo en cuenta que soy diestra, es raro, ¿verdad?

Fourth day: A small chipping appears on the left hand index finger. Considering I'm right-handed, it's weird, isn't it?

Quinto día: Empiezan a aparecer más desconchones en todas las uñas, y de pronto, el esmalte de la uña de los dedos índice y medio de la mano derecha empieza a despegarse como una pegatina.

Así que creo que ha llegado el momento de retirarlo.

Fifth day: Many more chippings start appearing on all the nails, and suddenly, the polish on my right index and middle fingers begins to peel off like a sticker. So I think it's time to remove it.

Me ha encantado este esmalte, no sólo por el color, como os he dicho antes, sino también por su durabilidad, y sobre todo, por su precio. Ojalá los vendieran en España; eso sí, con otro nombre, porque si no, las bromitas estarían aseguradas.

I like this polish very much, not just for its shade, as I told you before, but also for its durability, and above all, for its price. Wish they were sold in Spain, but with another name, of course, because if not, jokes would surely be made.

UDLS / NOTW: Color Club 'Gingerbread Man'

¡Hola guapas!

Hoy me gustaría enseñaros uno de los esmaltes que me mandó Iris, o mejor dicho, el único que le pedí de entre todos los que ella finalmente me mandó. Mi idea era tener un buen esmalte para estampar, cometido que este cumple estupendamente. Pero lo cierto era que me apetecía usarlo aunque fuera una vez él solito. Pertenece a la colección 'Scent-suous Holiday'. Es el único esmalte de esta marca que tengo y no será por falta de colores bonitos.




Hi, my lovelies!

Today I'd like to show you one of the polishes dear Iris sent to us, i.e. the only one I asked for among the dozen or so she eventually gifted us with. My idea was to have a good stamping polish and this one delivers beautifully. All in all, I wanted to use it on its own, even if it was just once. It was released as part of the Scent-suous Holiday Collection and it's my only Color Club to date, though not by lack of lemmings or pretty colours.





Día 1: Por la noche, me retiro las cutículas con el tratamiento de Mavala que nos mandó María. Después, me aplico una capa del gel de calcio de Basic. Aplico una capa de este esmalte, que huele a galleta. Mmmm. Como ya es tarde, una capa de SV. El olorcito a galleta perdura incluso después del SV. ¡Mola!.

Day 1: At night, I use the cuticle remover from Mavala that I got from María. Afterwards, I applied one coat of the calcium gel from Basic by Schlecker. Then, one coat of this gorgeous foily scented polish. It smells just like cookies. Yummy! As it's late, a coat of SV is mandatory. The cookie scent remains even after SV. Cool!




Me las quito al tercer día, ya que después de lavarme el pelo, como era lógico se me empezaron a desconchar. Sobre todo al principio, perduraba el olorcito en las uñas a galletita, así que no podía evitar "esnifarlo" un poco de vez en cuando.

I took it off on Day 3, as it got chipped when I washed my hair. At the beginning of this mani especially, I couldn't help it but sniff/snort this every now and then.

Tratamiento para uñas de Dr. Scholl / Nail treatment from Dr. Scholl

Hola de nuevo:
Como comentaba recientemente, tardaré bastante tiempo en poderme pintar de nuevo las uñas de los pies. ¿El motivo? Tengo hongos en una de las uñas del pie y el tratamiento para ello, aparte de largo y constante, requiere que la uña respire, por lo que no podré pintármelas durante una temporada.

Like I let slip recently, it'll be some time before I can paint my toenails again. The reason? One of my toenails is affected by nail fungus and the treatment is lengthy and works best if nails are unvarnished and 'breathing' and therefore I won't be having pedis any time soon.

Lo cierto es que tenía mis sospechas desde hacía un tiempo, pero puesto que hace años sufrí un pequeño golpe en los pies que hizo que se me cayeran las uñas de los dedos gordos a la vez que crecía una nueva debajo, pensé que el aspecto diferente que tenía una de ellas se debía a aquello.

The truth is I had my suspicions about this for some time, but as some years ago I had a minor accident that caused by big toenails to fall while new ones were growing underneath, and so I thought the different appearance one of them had was due to that fact.

Los hongos de las uñas suelen aparecer en personas que usan instalaciones públicas como piscinas y gimnasios, pero también por la utilización de calzado apretado (y que no permita la transpiración), exceso de sudoración, etc. En mi caso, también existe un componente genético, ya que mi madre -diabética, aunque no insulinodependiente- también tiene este problema.

Nail fungus usually appears in people who frequent public pools, gyms and showers, as well as by the prolonged use of closed footwear (impeding perspiration) or perspiring a great deal, and others. In my case, there is also a genetic ingredient to add, as my mother -who is diabetic but non insulin dependent- is suffering from it too at the moment.

En la farmacia me recomendaron este tratamiento de la marca Dr. Scholl, que empecé a utilizar a finales de noviembre, como véis en la foto del producto que incluyo arriba. Me costó 15,80€.
Lo he utilizado prácticamente a diario y sí que voy notando cierta mejoría en una zona de la uña que estaba muy amarilla, aunque como digo, soy consciente de que tendré que seguir utilizándolo aún varios meses más, ya que en la base de la uña tengo otro foco que antes era apenas visible. En la farmacia me advirtieron de que tuviera paciencia y que si seguía usándolo regularmente, pasados varios meses -hasta nueve meses, tiempo necesario para que se complete el ciclo de crecimiento de la uña- en la mayoría de los casos, el problema se solucionaba por completo.

At the chemist's they recommended this treatment from the brand Dr. Scholl which I started using at the end of November, as you can see in the product picture I uploaded. I paid 15.80 EUR for it.
I've been using it almost every day and I have indeed noticed some positive results so far, especially on the left side of the nail which was quite yellowish. I am aware though that I'll have to keep on using it over the next few months, as there's another source of infection that was barely noticeable before. My pharmacist adviced me to be patient and use the product on a regular basis. In most cases, the problem disappears in the space of several months -as much as nine months, the time required for the growth cycle of nails to be complete.

Os dejo con unas fotos -un poco asquerosillas, lo sé- para que veáis el progreso hasta el

momento. Haré también alguna entrada de actualización al respecto.
A ver si con un poco de suerte, para la primavera/verano, puedo ya volver a pintármelas.

UDLS/NOTW: Douglas 'Sara 07'.

Hola, chicas:

Aquí vengo otra vez con mis uñas de la semana; esta vez con el esmalte de Douglas "Sara 07", en un tono que yo definiría como blanco perlado con reflejos dorados.

I'm here again with my nails of the week; this time with the polish 'Sara 07' from Douglas, in a shade I'd define as a pearly white with golden reflections.




Para esta manicura apliqué una capa de Nail Sealer de Essence, que nos envió María, y encima 2 capas finas de este esmalte, y para terminar, como siempre, Seche Vite.

For this mani I applied a coat of Nail Sealer from Essence, which María sent us, and 2 thin coats of this polish, and Seche Vite on top to finish.

Las fotos que os enseño están hechas al tercer día de esta manicura, que soportó perfectamente un lavado de pelo por la mañana. Por la tarde, se empieza a despegar como una pegatina, así que decido quitármelo.



The pics I'm showing you were taken the third day of this mani, which remained perfect after a hair wash in the morning. In the evening, it started to peel off like a sticker, so I decide to remove it.

UDLS / NOTW: Kiko #305 'Light Green Chrome'

Hoy vengo con un post de archivo, para enseñaros un esmalte que lucí hace ya unos meses. Se trata del último esmalte que compré en Kiko, en concreto en la tienda de Salamanca del centro.

I'm back with a 'from the vault' post, to show you a polish I wore some months ago. It's the last Kiko I bought, in particular I bought this at the store in downtown Salamanca.




Día 1: A media tarde, aplico una capa de endurecedor de Bpretty, comprado en una droguería BIPA de Viena. Después, aplico dos capas de este esmalte. Ha resultado más cubriente de lo que me esperaba y tiene un bonito acabado plateado, aunque menos intenso que otros de mi colección. Llegué a temer que fuera pura purpurina. El subtono verde es muy sutil.




Day 1: In the evening, I apply one coat of my Bpretty nail hardener, purchased at a BIPA drugstore in Vienna, followed by two of this. It turned out to be less sheer than I expected and has a nice foil finish, though not as intense as others in my stash. I was fearing it would turn out to be a glittery dud. The green undertone is very, very subtle.




Día 3: Hago estampación en dos dedos de cada mano, índice y anular con una placa de Essence (dibujo de hibisco en la placa del ancla) y con la M64 de Konad. Para estampar uso el 'Welcome to the Jungle' de Catrice. No queda mal aunque pensé que quedaría más marcado. Aplico el topcoat de BTGN de Essence en esas uñas, que en un dedo -el que tenía más reciente la estampación- lo emborrona un poco. Quizá debería haber esperado un pelín más.




Day 3: I went for a subtle stamping with two accent fingers, index and ring. I used an Essence plate for this -the one with the hibiscus and the anchor- and my Konad M64. For stamping I used 'Welcome to the Jungle' from Catrice, which turned out nice but not as intense as I'd hoped it would be. Topped with the BTGN Essence topcoat in those nails, which slightly blurred the design on the last nail to be stamped -I should have probably waited a bit longer.

Os dejo con un pequeño video de Molly, que en breve comenzará su 'Operación: cuerpazo' y es que con 5,2 kilos tiene que perder peso sí o sí. Así que su amita tía ya le ha comprado hoy el pienso light de Hills. A ver si le hace más efecto que los de supermercado. Viendo el video comprenderéis porqué lo de hacer dieta no es lo suyo.





And I'm off with a short video feat. Molly. She'll be soon beginning her 'Operation: Weightloss' because 5.2 kilos is a lot and she has no option but shed some of that. Her auntie got her some Hill's™ Science Plan™: Feline Adult Light to see if it gets better result than low-fat cat food from the supermarket. If you watch the video, you'll see why she's useless at weight management.

Hacía tiempo que no os traía una comparativa, así que hoy le ha tocado el turno a dos preciosos esmaltes morados. El de China Glaze, fue cortesía de Iris *aquí* y el Minicolorama se vino conmigo desde Tallin. Como véis, han sido dos esmaltes viajeros, jeje.

It's been a while since my last comparison post, so let me show you two gorgeous purple polishes today. Meet China Glaze 'Urban Night', courtesy of sweet Iris *here* and the Minicolorama was one of my souvenirs from Tallinn. As you can see, I have two travelling lacquers for you, lol.

Día 1: Por la noche, aplico una capa de Nail Envy y después en la mano izquierda el Urban Night de China Glaze. Aplico dos capas, para conseguir una cobertura óptima. En el índice la primera capa me salió más gruesa y me vale con una. En la mano derecha, aplico una capa generosa del 'Dark Plum' del Minicolorama. No aplico Seche Vite, ya que tenía en mente una estampación coordinada -que luego no hice-, aunque quizá habría sido lo mejor, ya que pasadas unas horas tengo marcas en las dos manos. El color es clavadito.


Day 1: At night, I apply one coat of Nail Envy and then 'Urban Night' from CG. I gave it two coats for full opacity. My index got a thicker coat and I could get away with just one. In my right hand, I apply a generous coat of 'Dark Plum' from Maybelline's Minicoloramas. No Seche Vite, as I had a coordinated stamping in mind -that eventually never did- though I should have, as a few hours later I have tiny marks in both hands. These are perfect dupes, imo.

Día 3: Sesión de fotos. En la mano derecha ya se ven las puntas un poco desgastadas.

Day 3: Photoshoot. My right hand shows some signs of tipwear.

Día 4: Después de ducharme, aguantaron bastante bien, así que apuro esta manicura un poco más, hasta el día siguiente.

Day 4: After washing my hair, it's still doing good, so I stretch this mani a bit longer, to the following day.

Cuando me lo quito al día siguiente, se me manchan un poco las uñas, aunque quizá podría haberme esmerado un poco más para que no pasara -era tarde y casi ni veía, jeje-.


When I took this off the following day, my nails got stained a bit, though I could probably made more effort to prevent it- was late and I could barely see what I was doing!, lol.

Miércoles rosa / Pink Wednesday: Teeez 'Smooth 01'

Hoy vengo con una entrada rapidita, para enseñaros uno de los esmaltes holográficos que compramos en Amsterdam de la marca holandesa Teeez. Os lo habíamos enseñado brevemente en *este* post.

I have a short & sweet post for you today, namely to show you one of the holo lacquers we bought in Amsterdam from the Dutch brand Teeez. We'd briefly shown this *here*.




Día 1: Por la mañana, aplico una capa del Nail Envy y después una fina capa del Fix Base de Gosh. Una vez seca, aplico una capa generosa del Smooth 01 de Teeez. Aunque no pensaba, al final aplico SV, ya que según se secaba o con el roce, daba la impresión de que perdía algo de brillo.

Day 1: In the morning, I apply first a coat on Nail Envy and then a thin one of Fix Base from Gosh. Once dry, I apply a generous coat of Smooth 01 by Teeez. Though I initially didn't mean to, I apply SV, as I noticed it had lost some of the glossiness while drying.




Día 3: Tras una mañana de cocinillas, lo que era una manicura en perfecto estado presenta desconchones importantes en varias uñas. Me las despinto al final del día.

Day 3: After spending the morning in the kitchen, my until then perfect mani got ruined with big chips in several nails. I took it off at the end of the day.

Bueno, os traigo mi manicura de la semana, esta vez con el esmalte "Midnight Passion" de H&M y un esmalte con glitter de Claire's, cuyo nombre es imposible saber, así que he decidido bautizarlo como "Iris", haciendo honor a la persona que nos lo regaló.

How are you doing this Christmas? I hope you're doing OK.
Well, today I'm showing you my mani for this week; this time with the 'Midnight Passion' polish from H&M and a polish with glitter from Claire's, whose name is impossible to know, so I decided to name it 'Iris', in honor of the person who gave it to us.

Primer día: Pues bien, para esta manicura, apliqué primero una capa de Nail Envy de OPI (la versión mini que nos regaló María), luego una capa gruesa (no demasiado) del esmalte de H&M. Esperé a que se secara para aplicar una capa del esmalte "Iris" de Claire's, y después una capa de Seche Vite.

First day: OK, for this mani I applied a coat of Nail Envy from OPI (the mini version María gave us), then a thick coat (not too much thick) of the H&M polish. I waited until it got dried before applying a coat of the 'Iris' polish from Claire's, and a coat of Seche Vite on top.

Segundo día/Second day: Fotos/Pics.

Tercer día: Tengo un pequeño desconchón en el dedo medio de la mano derecha. El resto, en perfecto estado.

Third day: I've got a small chipping in the right hand middle finger. The rest of the nails, in perfect conditions.

Cuarto día: Otro pequeño desconchón, ahora en el dedo índice de la mano derecha.

Fourth day: Another small chipping, this time in the right hand index finger.

Quinto día: El desconchón se ha hecho enorme, así que me quito el esmalte.

Fifth day: The chipping has become so huge that I decide to remove the polish.

Aprovecho esta entrada, en la que os enseño mi última manicura de 2011, para desearos un Feliz Año, mejor que este año que hoy termina (¡qué difícil!).

UDLS / NOTW: Catrice '620 Captain Sparrow's Boat'

Hoy me gustaría enseñaros otro de los esmaltes que compré en Ámsterdam, en una de las visitas que hicimos a las droguerías Kruidvat de las que *ya os hablé* en su día.

Today I'd like to show you one of the polishes I bought in Amsterdam, from one of our visits to the local drugstore Kruidvat I told you about in a *post* at the time.

Dia 1: Por la mañana, aplico una capa de la base para prevenir el capeado de Essence que nos mandó María de Todos los esmaltes son pocos en el *intercambio* que hicimos. Más tarde, aplico una capa bastante generosa de este esmalte, no sin algunos problemas -rocé un par de uñas y tuve que retocar, el pincel pilló una pelusa. Remato con SV, también del intercambio.

Se dice que este esmalte de Catrice es el clon del famoso 'Black Pearl' de Chanel.

Day 1: In the morning, I applied a coat of the Essence basecoat that María from Todos los esmaltes son pocos kindly sent us as part of our *swap*. Later, I applied a generous coat of this polish with some problems – I grazed a couple of nails and had to do a touch-up and then the brush caught some fiber, lol. I topped it all with some SV, also from our swap with TLESP.

This lacquer is said to be a dupe of the famous 'Black Pearl' from Chanel.

Día 2: Tengo desconchones en el pulgar e índice derecho, por lo que de duración este esmalte, más bien regular. No he hecho nada especial, así que tendría que haber aguantado algo mejor.

Day 2: My right thumb and index fingers show some chipping, so this polish did not fare very well wearwise. I haven't done anything special, so it should have done a bit better.

Día 3: Aunque intenté retocar algunas uñas, los desconchones han ido a más, así que me las quito.

Day 3: Despite an attempt at touching up some nails, chipping has got worse so I took this off.

MiniColorama - #52 Dark Plum

Hoy me gustaría enseñaros un esmalte que compré este verano en Tallin y que estaba pendiente de estreno hasta que lo lucí por primera -que no última- vez hace ya algunas semanas. Se trata de un esmalte de Maybelline, de la colección MiniColorama.

Today I'd like to show you a polish I bought this summer in Tallinn but was sitting in my untrieds until I used it for the first but not last time a few weeks ago. It's a Maybelline, from their MiniColorama range.

Las fotos corresponden a la segunda vez que lo usé. Apliqué una capa del Nail Envy y una vez seca, una capa de este esmalte. La fórmula tiene la consistencia ideal, ni muy líquida ni muy espesa y el pincel también se maneja bien. Tendría que haber aplicado Seche Vite, ya que pasadas unas horas tengo marquitas, como podéis ver en las fotos.

The pics were taken the second time I used this. I applied a coat of Nail Envy and once dry, one coat of this polish. The formula is great, neither two watery nor too thick and the brush is easy to work with as well. I should have topped my mani with some Seche Vite, as I have some tiny marks on my nails a few hours later-see pics.

Esta manicura me aguantó cuatro días, no en perfecto estado, pero si bastante bien.
I wore this mani for four days, not perfect but reasonably well-looking.
