PDLS / POTW: Sinful Colors #202 'Sharon's Heart'

Hola chicas,

Aquí vengo con una pedicura, que lucí a principios de junio. Como véis, me lo tomo con calma, jeje.
Apliqué una capa de la base 'Extreme Last' de Essence y una generosa de este esmalte. No apliqué top coat, puesto que en los pies suelen durar bastante de por sí.

Y como este post tampoco da mucho más de si, os dejo con nuestras peludas, Luna y Molly, que han pasado unos días juntas (pero no revueltas) de vacaciones.

Here I am with a pedi I sported in early June. As you see, I'm taking things easy. Chill mode ON, lol.
I applied a coat of the Essence 'Extreme Last' basecoat and a generous coat of this. I didn't use any top coat, since pedis are quite long-lasting on their own right.

And since there isn't much to add today, here are our furry ones, Luna and Molly, who spent a few days together (yet apart) during the holidays.

Imagino que a estas alturas de año chocará ver una manicura tan colorida.
Imagino que ya habréis deducido por el título que hoy es el día mundial contra el Cáncer de mama y desde éste pequeño blog nos hemos unido, puesto que es una causa que nos toca de cerca.
Debo confesar que, cómo no, esta manicura corresponde al verano, que es cuando me atrevo a usar estos tonos más llamativos (y tengo algo más de tiempo).
Espero que no os importe.

En las fotos, llevo una capa de Nail Envy de OPI. En cuanto al color, llevo una capa generosa del esmalte de OPI ' I'm Indi-a Mood for Love' en todas las uñas menos en las anulares, que llevo el 'Sharon's Heart' de Sinful Colors que compré en Galleries Lafayette de París. Cuando estuvo lo suficientemente seco el esmalte, dí unos toques con el topper de Essence y rematé con top coat. No recuerdo lo que me duró.

Creo que quedó muy alegre y casi juraría que ya hice algo similar en el pasado.

I suppose it's kind of odd to see such a colourful mani in your blog feed at this time of year. 
I guess you gathered by the title of this post that today is Breast Cancer Awareness Day worldwide and we couldn't help but join in this initiative, as our family has been affected by this like many others.
Well, I must now confess that this mani is actually a summer mani, which is when I dare wear more vibrant polishes -and have a bit more time too.
Hope you don't mind.



In the pictures I'm wearing a coat of Nail Envy by OPI. As for the colour, I used a generous coat of the ' I'm Indi-a Mood for Love' OPI lacquer in all nails except for my ring fingernails where I used the Sinful Colors 'Sharon's Heart' nail polish. Once those were reasonably dry, I added some Essence glitter topper and topcoat.
I don't really recall how long I wore this for.

I think this turned out really bright and I could almost swear I've done a similar one in the past.

Hoy vengo a enseñaros un caprichito que me di durante nuestra estancia en París. Sé que la marca Sinful Colors no es excesivamente cara, pero el hecho es que yo éste lo compré en Galeries Lafayette, que no se caracteriza precisamente por vender "gangas". Es como comprar en España algún artículo de droguería en la perfumería de El Corte Inglés en lugar de en un supermercado o cadena de perfumerías, por así decir.
Puesto que ya tengo bastantes esmaltes, me decidí por éste, el tono más especial de los que tenían. 

 Creo recordar que en Beautik estos esmaltes no llegaban a 3€, mientras que yo pagué 5,90€ por éste.
En cuanto al color, lo definiría como un rosa coral con muchos reflejos dorados. Según le dé la luz, predomina más el rosa o el naranja.


 En las fotos, llevo una capa de Nail Envy, seguida de una generosa de este esmalte -que como véis, es muy cubriente - Esperé un par de minutos escasamente, antes de aplicar una capa del esmalte topcoat / de capa superior de Poshé.
Secó muy rápido, de modo que un ratito después me pude vestir sin problema. Creo que el Poshé es una buena alternativa a mi adorado Seche Vite.
La manicura se echó a perder en la mano derecha tras una mañana de limpieza hogareña. Me ha durado 4 días.

Today I'd like to show you a little something I treated myself with while in Paris. I know the brand Sinful Colors is not particularly pricey, but the thing is that I bought this polish at Galeries Lafayette, which are not famous for their budget-friendly prices. In Spain this would be like buying your everyday toiletries from the El Corte Inglés department store counters as opposed to getting them from the supermarket or a popular drugstore chain, so to speak.

Since I already have way too many polishes, I chose this one because it was the most unique shade they had.

I seem to recall this brand retails at less than €3 at Beautik, whereas I paid €5.90 for mine.

As far as the shade goes, I'd describe it as a pinky coral with many golden reflections. Depending on how the light hits it, the colour appears more pink or orange.

 

In the pics, I have a coat of OPI's Nail Envy, followed by a generous one of this polish - which is very pigmented, btw-. I waited a couple of minutes before topping it off with my Poshé topcoat.

Drying time was really quick and I could get dressed a while later without any issues. I think Poshé is good alternative to my beloved Seche Vite.

The right hand polished nails were ruined after spending the morning doing some cleaning. It lasted 4 days.

Aquí estoy otra vez con mis "uñas de la semana". Esta vez, he utilizado el esmalte de Sinful Colors que compré en Beautik en Salamanca. Os lo enseñé aquí. Me fascinó el color de este esmalte, y estaba deseando usarlo, pero sorprendentemente, no lo he estrenado (en mis uñas) hasta ahora. Lo definiría como un azul petróleo oscuro (casi negro), con acabado metalizado.

Here I am with another of my 'Nails of the Week' posts. This time, I've used a polish from Sinful Colors that I bought at the Beautik make-up store in Salamanca. I showed it here. I found the colour fascinating and was willing to try it, but surprisingly, I haven't used it (on my nails) until now. I'd define it as a dark petrol blue (almost black), with a metallic finish.

Primer día: Para esta manicura, he usado la miniatura de Nail Envy de OPI como base que nos mandó María *aquí*, después una capa gruesa (en algunas uñas, demasiado gruesa) de este esmalte, y Seche Vite encima, como siempre.
Os preguntaréis por qué digo aquello de la capa demasiado gruesa en algunas uñas. Pues bien, desde que hice los swatches de este esmalte en las ruedas, no lo había vuelto a usar, así que, empezaba a estar demasiado espeso. Por eso, después de hacerme esta manicura, le he añadido unas gotas de diluyente de Deliplus.




First day: For this mani, I've used the mini Nail Envy from OPI that we got from María as a base, and after that a thick coat (on some nails, much too thick) of this polish, with Seche Vite on top, as usual. You will probably be wondering why I said 'too thick' (about the coat of this polish I applied on some nails). OK, I hadn't used this again since I swatched this polish on the wheels, so when I did, I found the formula had thickened. That's why I added a few drops of thinner from Deliplus after this mani.

Cuarto día: Sigue perfecto tras un lavado de pelo.

Fourth day: It still remains perfect even after a hair wash.

Quinto día: Gran desconchón en la uña del dedo índice de la mano derecha, que no hay forma de disimular, así que decido quitármelo.

Fifth day: Huge chipping on my right hand index finger, which can't be disguised, so I decide to remove it.

Espero que siga funcionando igual de bien después de diluirlo un poco. Ya os contaré.

Mis esmaltes azules y verdes – My blue and green nail polishes (Marian).

Continuando con la serie de entradas de nuestros esmaltes por colores, hoy os enseño mis esmaltes azules y verdes (y azul verdosos y verde azulados).

Going on with the series of posts of our nail polishes by colour, today I'm showing you my blue and green ones (also greenish blue and bluish green ones).

Ahora que los veo en una lista, me doy cuenta de que más de la mitad de ellos los tengo sin estrenar, y eso no puede ser. Habrá que ponerle remedio pronto.

Now I'm seeing them on a list, I have realized that more than half of them are still untried, and that's not good at all. I'll have to put things right soon.

Cuando ya tenía todos los esmaltes “chuacheados” en la rueda, se me ocurre ir esta mañana a Bustillo (aunque la verdad es que ha sido más bien accidental; no estaba planeado), y me he comprado varios esmaltes. Entre ellos, el que veis en esta rueda en el número 18, de la colección “50's Girls Reloaded”. Lo he puesto en el número 18 y no en el 10 porque me parece que al ser de tonalidad más oscura, “pegaba” mejor.

When I had swatched all my polishes on the nailwheel, then I came with the great idea of going to Bustillo (though I actually ended up there by accident; it wasn't planned), and I've bought some polishes. One of them is on the 18^th place on this wheel, from the '50's Girls Reloaded' LE. I've put it on this place instead of the 10^th because as it's a dark colour, it fitted better.

Y cambiando de tema, ahora que marox está de vacaciones, he encontrado una nueva ayudante para hacer las fotos. ¿Qué os parece?

And changing the subject, now that marox is on holiday, I've found a new 'assistant photographer'. What do you think?

Compras en Beautik y KIKO Salamanca

Por aclamación popular, mientras Marian está ordenando los chuaches de los esmaltes de Marox por gamas de colores, os subimos unas fotos con las compritas de hoy en Salamanca.
Como indicábamos en el post de presentación de la nueva tienda de Beautik, aún no tenían todos los productos. Por ejemplo, de Catrice tenían algunos de los nuevos esmaltes (el 'Sir, yes Sir') pero no otros como el 'Iron Mermaiden' ni para nuestro pesar, el 'Dirty Berry' ni el 'Sand Francisco', a los que les teníamos echado el ojo -marox, al menos.
De Nyx tendrían aproximadamente veinte tonos de barras de labios y de brillos. Nos gustaron los labiales 'Medusa' y 'Lala'. La verdad es que se agradece poder probar los colores en la tienda y así evitar llevarte sorpresas, como suele suceder cuando compras por Internet. Por mucho 'chuache' que veas, hasta cierto punto vas a ciegas.
Casi mejor que no tengan todos los productos, así es más fácil no pasarse del presupuesto potinguil y da tiempo a usar y estrenar los que tenemos.

By public demand, while Marian is sorting Marox's nailpolishes by colour on her nailwheels, we thought it would be a good idea to share with you what we got in Salamanca today.

As we mentioned in our previous post where we introduced the new Beautik store, they don't have the entire range of some brands and need to restock others. From Catrice, they did have some of the newest releases (like 'Sir, yes Sir') but they didn't have others like 'Iron Mermaiden' nor to our regret 'Dirty Berry' or 'Sand Francisco', which we wanted to check out.
As for Nyx, they had about twenty lipsticks and lipglosses. We liked the lippies in 'Medusa' and 'Lala', but didn't get them. We appreciated the luxury of being able to try the different products and colours at the store and therefore avoid surprises, as usually happens when you buy something over the Internet. To a certain extent, you're always buying blind.
It's just as well they didn't have everything yet, so as not to stray from your allotted budget and have the time to go through your untrieds.

Os dejo unas fotos de las compras de Marox.

Las placas de Marox con más detalle. Como véis, ha caído una de Konad. La verdad es que teniendo las de Essence al lado tan baratitas, daba un poco de dolor de bolsillo. Pero era taan bonita. Es la M64 y me había llamado la atención hace tiempo. También hay una con unas notas musicales, que no sé si tenían, que es superbonita. Pero puesto que aún estamos iniciándonos con esto de la estampación, con estas estamos requeteservidas.

And now another one with the image plates in detail. As you can see, one from Konad into the basket went. The truth is having the Essence ones right next to them, the extra money hurt the wallet a bit. But it was sooo beautiful. It's M64 and had caught my eye some time ago. There's another one with music notes, which I don't know if they had, that is terribly beautiful as well. But since we're still pretty much novice at stamping, these babies will be more than enough for the time being.

Y ahora le toca el turno a las compras de Marian, que como véis también ha arrasado en Beautik. En su caso, compró un esmalte azul oscuro de Sinful Colors y otro azul de la línea Show your Feet de Essence. Como véis, siente cierta predilección por los esmaltes pitufo.

And now it's time to see what Marian got, who also did some damage at Beautik. As for her, she bought a dark blue from Sinful Colors and another one from the Show your Feet line from Essence. She's fond of smurf shades, as you can tell from her purchases.
