Compras varias acumuladas / Sundry Haul 2020 (V)

Hola, chicas:
Empezamos mes, poco a poco volvemos a la rutina, si bien de forma diferente a otros años. 
Hoy nos gustaría enseñaros nuestras últimas compras.

1 - Revista Marie Claire, agosto (marox): El mes pasado también piqué con ella, aunque no os la enseñé. En esta ocasión viene con otro libro y un brillo de labios en un tono bastante natural de Avon.

2 - Mascarillas tissú Mildeen (Aldi): Como en nuestra tierra sí que hay un supermercado Aldi, me animé a comprar estas mascarillas fabricadas en Corea, que tan buenas opiniones tienen. Había otra variedad más -té verde, creo-. Vienen en un pack de 2 mascarillas: una variedad es de granada y la otra de té negro. Tienen buena caducidad, así que gastaré otras primero.

 Aprovechando que tenía un cupón de 3€ de un email por suscribirme a su boletín de noticias, compré lo siguiente -entre otras cosas - en... *Primaprix*.

3 - Mascarillas tissú 'The Oozoo' (marox): Las conseguí por 3,95€ cada una. Esta marca coreana la tienen en *Sephora* y cuestan casi 9€ (también las tienen más baratas en PlanetSkin). Lo único malo es que caducan en unos meses, así que tendré que usarlas pronto. Cogí las 2 variedades que tenían, una de ácido hialurónico y otra con extractos de perla, trufa, etc. No las he probado aún.

3 - Desodorante roll-on Dove sin aluminio: Otro más para la colección, aunque de momento no lo usaré porque tengo más. Ya no me merece la pena comprar desodorantes por Internet. Éstos no están mal y los puedo comprar en tienda física. Además, así apoyamos un poco al comercio local, que falta hace en estos tiempos.
Precio: 1,60€

4 - Gel higienizante de Sephora, de almendra (marox): Me queda todavía un poco del que tengo, que compré poco antes de la declaración del estado de alarma y como me ha gustado mucho para llevar en el bolso, aprovechando que tuvimos que bajar al centro y allí hay un Sephora, aproveché.
Lo único que no me gusta, es el precio para la cantidad que trae, 30 ml. Está a la *venta* por 2,95€
La dependienta nos obsequió un par de muestras de la hidratante facial de Belief, que ya conocía gracias al set de minitallas.

Un detalle que me gustó mucho fue ver que en el centro la gente sí que iba toda con su mascarilla y bien puesta. Me temo que por nuestra zona se escaquea más la gente.

5 - Revista Glamour Septiembre 2020: Ya sabéis que cuando trae un regalo decente suelo picar. Antes de pasar por el kiosko suelo leer un par de blogs y ver algún video en Youtube sobre las revistas del mes para hacerme una idea de lo que traerán, aunque no siempre todo llegue a mi ciudad. De los regalos que traía Glamour gracias a la colaboración con la marca israelí *Sabon*, lo que más merecía la pena eran estos aceites de ducha. Yo me hice con el de jazmín, aunque tenían otros aromas en el kiosko. Trae algo más de 300ml. En su web cuestan unos 15 euros, así que hacerse con él por 3.95€ no está mal.

6 - Pack Hola + Hola Living: No esperaba encontrarla, pero hace poco Marian y yo tuvimos que ir al centro, por una zona por la que no solemos ir y por casualidad dimos con un macroestanco / macrokiosko, con revistas que no se encuentran en los kioskos de barrio. Por 3,95€ me hice con este pack, que traía como regalo una crema hidratante facial de *Naobay*, que tiene muy buena pinta.
Me va a pasar como con las cremas de manos, que tengo para 2 vidas entre alguna que he comprado y las que he conseguido con las revistas.

A new month begins and little by little we go back to our usual routine, albeit a bit differently this year.
Today we'd like to show you our latest purchases.

1 -  Marie Claire magazine, August issue (marox): I got last month's issue as well, though I didn't share that here. This time it had two freebies: a novel and a lip gloss from Avon in a very natural shade.

2 - Mildeen (Aldi) Sheet Masks: Since there is an Aldi supermarket in our hometown, we paid it a visit when we were there and I got my hands on these masks everyone raves about to try them out. They're made in Korea and there was a third type I didn't grab which I believe had green tea as the main ingredient. They come in a 2-pack. I got the pomegranate and the black tea ones. The expiration date is really good, so I'll use others first.

I happened to have a €3 coupon on an e-mail from... *Primaprix* for subscribing to their newsletter, so I paid this discount supermarket a visit and got the following, among other stuff.

3 - The Oozoo Sheet Masks (marox): These retailed at €3.95 each. The brand is sold at *Sephora* and they're sold at almost €9 there, so not a bad deal at all. The only catch is the expiration date is a couple of months away, so I'll have to use them sooner than later. I bought the two lines they had, one with hyaluronic acid and the other containing black pearl and truffle extracts.

3 - Aluminium-free Dove roll-on deodorant: Another one for my stash, but I won't be using it any time soon since I have at least another one. It's no longer worth it for me to order these online. These are OK and I can get them from a brick&mortar shop. Furthermore, I'm supporting a local business while doing so, something desperately needed in times like these.
Price: €1.60

4 - Sephora pocket hand cleansing gel, almond (marox): I still have some left, which I bought shortly before the lockdown. It is very pleasant to use and is convenient, so I bought a new one. We had to go downtown recently and there's a Sephora nearby, so I used the opportunity.
The only thing I don't like about this is the price, given that this is a pocket sanitizer with only 30ml in it. This *retails* at €2.95.
The salesgirl gave us each a sample of Belief's face cream that I'd tried thanks to the travel-size kit I got a while ago.

Something worth mentioning regarding our errands downtown was the fact that everyone there was wearing a mask and doing so properly. I'm afraid that's a responsibility people in our neighbourhood tend to shirk off more often than not.

5 - Glamour magazine, September 2020: You know that I always give in when it includes a nice freebie. Before heading to the nearest kiosk, I like to take a look at some blogs and Youtube channels that focus on monthly magazines and their freebies or lack of. That way I can get  an idea of what to expect, even if not everything they post makes it nationwide. From the freebies that came out thanks to this collab with Israeli brand *Sabon*, the ones that got more praise were their shower oils. I got the jasmine one, although I could find other scents too. It does contain a little over 300ml and they retail at about €15 on their website, so getting it for €3.95 was not a bad deal.

6 - Hola + Hola Living magazine bundle: I wasn't expecting to find this, but Marian and I had to go downtown recently, to an area we rarely go to and by chance, we saw a giant newsagents'. They sold magazines that don't make it to your neighbourhood kiosk. For just €3.95 I got this bundle, which included a *Naobay* face cream as a freebie that looks really nice. 
This is starting to resemble my hand cream situation. I have enough face cream for this life and the next between the ones I bought myself and the ones I get with magazines.

Compras varias acumuladas / Sundry Haul 2020 (I)

Esperamos que vosotras y vuestras familias estéis bien. Ya llevamos dos semanas de confinamiento y todavía nos queda un tiempo. Seamos positivos y pensemos en que cada día que pase es un día menos.
¿Os habéis acordado de cambiar los relojes?
Yo he estado aprovechando esta mañana para leer un poco. Y ayer me cené un bocata de sardinas que me supo a gloria bendita. Hay que disfrutar de los pequeños placeres en estos días tan extraños, ¿verdad?.


1 - Perfiladores automáticos azules de Essence: Se me terminó el que estaba utilizando y como donde estoy trabajando este año no he visto que vendan cosas de Essence, se lo encargué a mi hermana.
Como no se decidía, me compró dos, uno en el tono '09 Cool Down' -como el que se me terminó-  y otro en el tono '26 Deep-Sea Baby'. Me temo que no tengo foto.

2 - Revista Cosmopolitan enero 2020: Cuando ya había perdido la esperanza de hacerme con ella, la encontré en un supermercado Alcampo -antes Simply.
Como véis, traía una minitalla del famoso minimizador de poros de Benefit.

3 -  Revista Glamour febrero 2020: Yo creo que fue la revista estrella del mes, al menos en cuanto a regalos se refiere. Que yo sepa, llegó a todas las ciudades sin excepción -no como otras, que sólo traen regalo bueno en unas ciudades y en otras nada de nada o algo de menos valor y calidad.
Debo decir que el formato de la revista ha cambiado... para peor. Las entrevistas se limitan a pies de foto gigantes, supongo que ideales para analfabetos funcionales y/o millennials muy ocupados. Más les vale traer buenos regalos, porque me temo que por el contenido, no van a conseguir demasiadas ventas.
El regalo, que imagino que ya habréis visto por otros lares, es una hidratante facial con vitamina E de The Body Shop que cuesta 18€ en tienda.




4 - Revista InStyle marzo 2020 (marox): Fue también la revista estrella del mes. Tengo entendido que en algunos sitios se vendía por 1€ más. Afortunadamente yo me he hecho con ella por 4,95€, como véis. Traía un suplemento de arquitectura y diseño muy interesante, bastante caro.




5 - Revista Glamour marzo 2020 (marox): De no ser por el regalo, creo que ahora mismo nadie compraría la revista. Continúa esa línea editorial tan extraña, con fotos borrosas, tipos de letra difíciles de entender y entrevistas que se reducen a pies de foto o que están escritas con una orientación diferente del papel.
A lo que vamos, aquí en Burgos la edición pequeña ha llegado con las cremas de manos grandes de The Body Shop. En el supermercado donde la compré, eran casi todas de cáñamo -que vale 13€ en tienda-, que aunque hidrata muy bien el olor no es muy de mi agrado. Rebuscando un poco vi que tenían una de karité y ésta de rosas, ambas a la venta en tienda por 12€.
Las que han venido en ediciones anteriores han sido adoptadas con mucho entusiasmo en casa y ésta fue donada al hogar familiar con gusto por este motivo.
Sé que con tanto lavarnos las manos, les han venido muy bien a mis padres.

6 - Revista Glamour abril 2020 (marox): De no haber sido porque en el supermercado al que hice una escapada tras más de una semana confinada en casa tiene kiosko, no me habría hecho con ella. Vine como una mula de Mercadona y de Alcampo (antes Simply), intentando comprar lo suficiente para no tener que salir de casa, con suerte en algo más de una semana. Aún me duele el hombro de cargar con todo lo que compré.
Fui tan a hecho que ni me fijé si había otras revistas con regalo.
Como ya sabréis, las revistas españolas han tenido una idea estupenda, poner a nuestra disposición de forma gratuita sus publicaciones. A mí me las pasó una compañera por Whatsapp y se lo agradecí mucho. Está bien distraerse con algo que no sea relacionado con la situación que estamos viviendo.
Como véis, la grande trae regalos de Naobay, marca española que ofrece productos en su mayoría orgánicos y veganos a precios razonables. La versión pequeña, en esta ciudad traía otra vez los geles de baño de TBS. Os dejo enlaces de los productos a la web de la marca: *bruma*, *mascarilla* de Naobay y *gel* de TBS.

We hope you and your loved ones are doing well. We've been in lockdown for over two weeks and it seems this will go on for some time. Let's be positive and think that another day stuck inside is another day down.
Did you remember to set clocks forward? I've spent some time this morning reading and last night I made myself a delicious sardine sub. These strange days are the perfect time to enjoy life's simple pleasures, don't you think? 

1 - Essence Automatic Eyeliner Pencils in blue: I used up the one I had and there are no shops where I'm living this year that sell Essence products, so I asked my sister to get it for me.
She couldn't make up her mind about which one to get and bought these two, one in the shade '09 Cool Down' -like the one I'd used up - and the other one in '26 Deep-Sea Baby'. I'm afraid I couldn't take photos of them.

2 - Cosmopolitan magazine, January 2020: I'd lost hope of finding it when I spotted it at a local Alcampo supermarket -formerly Simply-.
It included a travel-sized tube of the famous pore minimizer from Benefit cosmetics, as you can see.

3 - Glamour magazine, February 2020: The Spanish issue of this magazine was that month's best seller. At least when it comes to magazine freebies. As far as I know, it was available nationwide with the same gift -unlike others, that you may or may not get depending on where you live.
I must say the style of this magazine has been given a major makeover and has changed... for the worse. Interviews are limited to a caption, ideal only for functionally illiterate people or busy millennials.
They'd better include nice freebies from now on, because I don't see them getting a lot of revenue based on the magazine alone.
The gift, that you may have seen other Spanish bloggers and YouTubers sharing on social media is the vitamin E face moisturizer from TBS that retails for €18.

4 - InStyle magazine, March issue 2020 (marox): This was the top pick when it came to magazine freebies that month. Shock fact: this retailed at €5.95 in some cities, making it €1 more expensive than what I paid for. For €4.95, it came with a very pricey architecture and design magazine that was nice too.



5 - Glamour magazine, March 2020 issue (marox): Were it not for the freebies, not many people would get this magazine these days. The odd editorial style continues, with blurry pictures, fonts that are en eyesore to work out and interviews that are just captions next to pictures or that have a different page orientation.
Anyway, the pocket edition here brought the large TBS hand creams. The supermarket I bought this from had mostly the hemp ones on display -that retail at €13-, but upon further inspection, I dug others out: the shea  and the rose ones, which is the one I got. They both retail for €12.
The creams that I got from past issues were eagerly adopted at home and this one followed the same fate as well.
I know my parents are putting them to good use now that we have to wash our hands much more thoroughly.

6 - Glamour magazine, April 2020 issue (marox): Were it not for the fact that the supermarket I went grocery shopping after being in lockdown for more than a week has a newsagents section, I wouldn't have got it.
I returned home slogging my guts out with two carrier bags so I don't need to go out again in over a week. My shoulder still hurts from having to carry so much weight.
I dove straight into this magazine and didn't even notice if they had any others worth buying at the supermarket.
Spanish magazine publishers were kind enough to offer a downloadable version of this month's issues for free. I got them through a friend who forwarded those using Whatsapp and it was something I really appreciated. It is nice to take your mind of the gloomy days we're living, even if it's momentarily.
The larger issue contained different Naobay freebies, a Spanish brand that focuses on affordable, mostly organic & vegan products.
The pocket edition in my area included three different TBS shower gels again. Here are the product links: *mist*, *mask*and TBS *gel*.

Compras varias acumuladas - Sundry Haul.

Hoy comienzo esta entrada de compras enseñando los regalos que han venido con las revistas y que merecían la pena. La tengo empezada desde hace siglos y la pobre Marian está desesperada.
En la escuela estamos en plenos exámenes, así que cuando no examino a alumnos míos, cuido otros, tengo orales... Un no parar.
Seguro que más de una habéis picado con alguna revista últimamente. ¿Coincidimos en algo?

1 - Revista Woman Madame, Abril: Aunque la revista salía cara, 4,50€, merecía la pena por mimarse un poco y utilizar un producto de una marca como es Rituals, que únicamente podría pedir por Internet o conseguir en un viaje. Había tres variedades posibles y ésta -Yogi Flow, con aceite de almendras y rosa de la India- era la que quería... y justo era la que tenían en el primer kiosko en que la ví. Tardaré en estrenarla, eso sí.
La muestra de Escada es de edición limitada y la verdad es que huele muy bien.

2 - Revista Clara, con crema de manos de Naobay: No es habitual que las revistas incluyan como regalos productos de marcas naturales. Una crema de manos nunca viene mal, y más teniendo en cuenta que encontrar una con una composición decente suele costar más, así que merecía la pena pagar los casi 4 euros que costaba la revista.
Aunque no la he probado aún, me habría gustado que la crema tuviera precinto. Me ha hecho mucha gracia el tapón de madera que tiene.





3 - Revista Elle + sombra en crema de Sensilis: La revista Elle del mes de marzo venía también con un regalo decente, así que pasé de comprar la revista que compro habitualmente -Glamour, y me gasté los cuartos en ésta para variar. A diferencia de los demás productos, ésta sí que la he probado. Aunque no tiene una pigmentación brutal, sí que me ha sorprendido la duración. La he utilizado a modo de prebase en maquillajes en tonos neutros y me ha gustado. Es sedosa y se extiende bien. Como aspectos negativos, tiene brillitos, aunque no sé si serán sólo en la capa superior o toda la sombra será así.
Creo recordar que el formato grande traía 2 colores a elegir y el formato pequeño de la revista traía productos de varias marcas.

También compré una revista Cosmopolitan que vino después, que traía una sombra morada de Essence... que no pigmenta apenas y no merece ni que me ponga a buscar la foto.

Os dejo con el nuevo sencillo de mis queridos Roxette, que por desgracia han tenido que cancelar sus giras para siempre.
La pierna de Marie, que apenas tiene movilidad.
De ahora en adelante, nos tendremos que conformar con lo que tengan a bien editar y con recordar lo que nos han hecho disfrutar.

I'm starting this Sundry Haul post by sharing with you the latest magazine freebies that were worth the splurge for Spanish readers. Poor Marian keeps telling me to give the final touches to some of my unfinished posts. 
We're deep in exam season at the language school. One day I've got my own students to assess, then someone else's to keep an eye on, oral examinations, you name it.
Have you tried any of these goodies or bought any magazines just for the freebies lately?

1 - Woman Madame Magazine, April issue: Although the magazine is a bit pricey for my liking, at 4.50 EUR, it was worth the ocassional treat that using a product from Rituals involves. I don't have ready access to Rituals and would either have to order online or get it during one of our travels.
There were three ranges available and this -Yogi Flow, with sweet almond oil and Indian rose extracts- was the one I was secretly hoping to find... and was luckily the one available at the first newsagent's I spotted this in.
It'll take me a while to use it, though.
The Escada perfume sample is LE and smells great too.



2 - Clara Magazine + organic hand cream from Naobay: Magazine freebies seldom include organic products and hand creams are nice to have around anyway. Going organic is usually the only way of finding one that has a decent ingredient list, but that usually comes at a price. I felt forking out almost 4 EUR for the magazine was worth it.
I haven't tried it yet, but would have appreciated the brand sealing off the tube. Love the wooden cap, though.



3 - Elle magazine + Sensilis cream eyeshadow: The March issue of this Spanish magazine had an interesting product too so I skipped my usual read -Glamour- in favour of this one, for a change.
Unlike the previous two freebies, I have used this already and can tell you I'm surprised by how silky and smooth it is as well as the wear time. The colour payoff is not very intense, but I've been using this as an eyeshadow base on neutral looks and worked well for me.
The downside is that it's glittery, although I don't know if it'll be just the top layer or not.
I seem to recall the largest magazine had 2 cream eyeshadows to choose from and the smallest sized had freebies from different brands.

Apart from these magazines, I also bought Cosmopolitan later. The freebie was an Essence purple eyeshadow that was poorly pigmented. Not even worth sharing.

I'm saying goodbye for now with the latest Roxette single. Sadly, their touring days are now over. Marie has almost no mobility in one of her legs, you see.
From now on, we'll have to settle for whatever they feel like releasing. And remember the good times we've enjoyed.
