Productos Terminados / 'Finito' Products (#27).

Hola, chicas:
Aquí venimos con una nueva entrega de los productos que hemos terminado últimamente.

1- Esmalte craquelador Depend #5002: (marox). Al hacer limpieza entre mis esmaltes, ví que éste estaba sequísimo y que era imposible recuperarlo. Como podéis ver, el producto se ha quedado como hecho polvo. Curiosamente, el tono rojo de la misma marca, comprado a la vez, sigue como el primer día. No sé, quizá no estaba bien cerrado.

2- Repelente de mosquitos de Stanhome: Llevaba en casa ya bastante tiempo y al hacer limpieza de los armarios del baño, hemos decidido que teniendo en cuenta para lo que se usa, pasado ese tiempo ya no serviría de gran cosa.
Se vende únicamente a través de distribuidora, lo que hace difícil reponerlo en caso necesario. No repetiríamos.

3- Exfoliante de coco de Bodyfarm (Marian).
La verdad es que me ha gustado mucho este producto. Tiene los gránulos de un tamaño adecuado para hacer una buena exfoliación de la piel. No me importaría repetir con él.

4- Exfoliante facial de microdermabrasión de Dr. Brandt (Marian).
Este producto me ha encantado... si no fuera por su elevado precio, así que no repetiré con él.
Ahora estoy usando otros productos que más o menos me hacen el apaño. Obviamente, no son lo mismo, pero también cuestan infinitamente menos.

5- Exfoliante corporal de arándano y lichi de Sephora (marox): Formaba parte de un kit de minitallas que compró Marian en "Los Precios Locos". De momento es el único producto que he terminado del kit, aunque no el único que he probado.
La exfoliación que realiza es suficiente, no tiene un gránulo muy fuerte y tiene un olor muy agradable. Ignoro si Sephora sigue teniendo este producto, puesto que hicieron algunos cambios en su gama de productos de baño.

Bien, esto ha sido todo por el momento.

Here we are again with a new post to show you the stuff we've used up recently.

1- Depend crackle #5002: (marox) When cleaning up my polish stash, I noticed this was all dried out, beyond repair. As you can see, the lacquer has turned all powdery. Strangely enough, the red one from the same brand and bought at the same time is as good as new. I don't know, maybe the cap was not properly closed.

2-  Mosquito repellent from Stanhome: It'd been at home for a long time already and we decided to throw it away when doing some spring cleaning in the bathroom cabinets. Considering what this is used for and the time passed since we bought it, it would really be useless to keep it.
These products are sold exclusively through a distributor, which makes repurchasing more difficult, if that were the case, anyway.

3- Coconut body scrub from Bodyfarm (Marian).
I like this product very much. The scrub particles have the right size to exfoliate your skin well enough. I wouldn't mind buying it again.

4- Microdermabrasion face scrub from Dr. Brandt (Marian).
I love this product... except for the exorbitant price, so I won't be repeating with it.
I'm now using other products that give me almost the same result as this. Obviously, they aren't the same quality, but they do cost much less.

5 - Sephora cranberry and litchi body scrub (marox): It was included in a trial size kit that Marian purchased during the 'Crazy Prices' sales at Sephora. It's the only product from the set I've used up, though not the only one I've tried.
The scrub particles are not too harsh, the result is noticeable and it's very pleasantly scented. I don't really know whether this is actually still available, as Sephora made some changes to their body & bath range.

UDLS / NOTW: Kiko #243 + Depend crackle 5002

Kiko Rojo #243 'Rosso Prugna' + Depend Crackle 5002 = BARÇA, lol.

Os presento otro esmalte de Kiko, que tenía pendiente de estrenar desde que lo comprara en el viaje a Madrid *ver post haul*.

Meet another Kiko polish, still in my untrieds since I bought it on our Madrid trip *see haul post*.

Día 1: Después de ducharme, aplico una capa de base de Basic (Schlecker), seguida de una generosa de este esmalte (en algunas uñas aplico una segunda muy finita). Remato con una capa de SecheVite. Unos veinte minutos más tarde, estoy vistiéndome y maquillándome para salir sin ningún problema.

Yo díría que el acabado de este esmalte es 'jelly' y el color es un rojo sangre.

Day 1: After taking a shower, I put on a coat of base from Basic (Schlecker), followed by a generous one of this polish – it was a two-coater on a couple of nails-. I topped it all with Seche Vite. About 20 minutes later, I was getting dressed and putting on my make up ready to go out and no damage was done.

I'd say this has a jelly finish and describe the colour as blood red.

Día 3: Por la noche, estreno el crackling azul de Depend tan sólo en la mitad de la uña, con una manicura con cinta adhesiva. Es mi primer intento poniendo en práctica la técnica utilizada por artistas como Erika de Chloe's Nails o Jane de Nailside. El resultado es de lo más azulgrana, perfecto para un día de partido, jeje.

El esmalte de craquelado de Depend seca muy, muy rápido y es bastante espeso. Sospecho que habrá que tener cuidado para que no se seque en el bote.

Day 3: At night, I use my blue crackle from Depend for the first time, but just on one side of the nail, making it my first tape mani. My first attempt with the technique expertly used by artists like Erika from Chloe's Nails or Jane from Nailside. It's very Barça, perfect for a football evening, lol.

The Depend crackle dries really, really fast and has a thick consistency. I suspect I'll have to be really careful with this one to prevent it from drying in the bottle.

Esta manicura me ha durado cinco días. De duración, un sobresaliente.

I took it off after 5 days of wear. An A+ in that department.

A la vista de la combinación de colores que he utilizado, no hace falta que diga qué equipo quiero que gane el partido de vuelta de la Supercopa esta noche... ¡¡¡ El Barçççaaaaaaaaaa !!!!

Judging by the colour combination I used for this mani, I don't think I need to tell you which team I'll be rooting for in the Supercopa Final tonight, do I?. Well, it's Barçaaaaaaa !!!

Cracklings Depend

Hoy vengo con una entrada cortita para enseñaros mejor los esmaltes de acabado craquelado que compré en Tallin -es decir, con los que me he quedado yo finalmente.




Today I have a short & sweet post for you ladies, to properly show you the crackle topcoats I bought in Tallinn -that is, the ones I'm keeping in the end.

Depend es una marca sueca especializada en productos para las uñas y los ojos. Está presente en toda Escandinavia y en Estonia me dio la sensación de que está empezando a comercializarse. Aprovechando que el acabado craquelado está tan de moda, yo diría que han empezado a traer este producto para ver qué tal se vende, puesto que fueron los únicos productos de la marca que encontré. Curiosamente y teniendo en cuenta que aquí no hay "de ná", he visto un pequeño mueble de tratamiento de uñas de Depend en una perfumería Avenida. No tienen página web, tan sólo la del equipo de baloncesto femenino al que patrocinan, jeje.

Depend is a Swedish brand specialized in nail care and eye products. It's available throughout Scandinavia and I got the impression it's beginning its expansion into Estonia. Now that crackles are all the craze, I'd say they'd started carrying this line to see how well the brand performs in the stores.
Strangely enough, as small as my hometown is, I've seen a small Depend nail care display here at a local drugstore/perfumery called Avenida. They have no corporate website, except for the female basketball team they sponsor, lol.

Como comenté en la entrada de mis compras en Tallin *aquí*, tenía entendido que eran algo más caros, pero sospecho que el 1,50€ que me costó cada uno era un precio de lanzamiento.

As I mentioned in my Tallinn haul post *here*, I understood these retailed higher than the 1.50 EUR I paid, so I suppose that was a 'new release' price or something.

Aparte de probarlos en las ruedas, de momento he usado sólo el azul. Ya os lo enseñaré. Me ha gustado mucho, aunque es tan espesito y seca tan rápido que casi no te da tiempo a cubrir la uña entera.

Apart from the nailwheel swatches, I've only tried the blue one so far. I'll show you that soon. I liked it very much, despite the fact that it was thickish and so fast drying that you have to work very fast. You barely have time to cover the entire nail before it starts drying.

El efecto craquelado, al igual que en otros, depende de la cantidad de producto que apliquemos, pero es bastante pronunciado, como podéis ver. Me gusta que se vea el color de base que llevemos debajo, así que en ese apartado, también aprueba con nota.

The crackle effect you get, as with others, depends on the amount of product you apply. As you can see, it's quite pronounced. I really like the fact that you get to see the base colour underneath, so the Depend crackles pass with merit in that department as well.

Y en cuanto al resto de compras que hice, esto es lo que me he quedado después de la "repartición" con Marian. Falta el jabón, mi hermana escogió el de claveles, así que yo me quedo con el frutal.
And as for the rest of purchases that I made, this is what I'm keeping after splitting my haul with Marian. My sister chose the Carnation soap (not pictured), so I got the fruity one.

Pink Wednesday - Strawberry Fields (China Glaze) vs. Big Spender Wanted (Catrice)

Hoy vengo con mi segundo "miércoles rosa" y os traigo una nueva comparativa de dos esmaltes que ya os habíamos presentado como parte de nuestros “Parecidos Razonables” y que tenía preparada desde hace algunas semanas. Se trata del 'Strawberry Fields' de China Glaze -que compré en un lote de tres esmaltes usados en Ebay España- y el 'Big Spender Wanted' de Catrice, que me traje de Berlín. El primero es de mi hermana y el segundo es mío, por lo que digamos que el tener dos colores prácticamente iguales duele un poco menos.




I'm back with my second 'Pink Wednesday' nails and another in-depth comparison of two lacquers that were included on a previous 'Reasonable Lookalikes' post. I actually wrote this a couple of weeks ago.
Meet 'Strawberry Fields' from China Glaze -which I bought as part of a set of 3 used polishes from Ebay Spain- and 'Big Spender Wanted' from Catrice, that came all the way home with me from Berlin. The first one belongs to Marian and the other is mine, so you can say that makes having two very close shades hurt a little less.

Día 1: Después de comer, aplico una capa de la base de P2 y una vez seca aplico en la mano izquierda dos capas -la 1ª generosa- de SF en el pulgar, corazón y meñique y también el índice y anular de la derecha. En los dedos restantes, aplico una capa generosa del de Catrice. Quise hacer lo mismo con el de ChG, pero finalmente puse dos para conseguir una cobertura uniforme. Con el de Catrice, lo he conseguido a la primera, por lo que para mí en eso supera al de China Glaze. No aplico Seche Vite, para poder ser más imparcial y comparar también el brillo que tienen de por sí. Se aprecian algunas diferencias: los brillos dorados del SF son más grandes que el de Catrice, que da la impresión de que los tiene más integrados, yo diría que es como que forman parte del propio esmalte. El tono de base es muy similar, pero el de ChG se me hace más llamativo y también tiene más brillo. Se podría decir que el brillo del BSW es más apagado.




Day 1: Right after lunch, I applied my P2 base coat and once it's dry I gave two coats -the first one rather generous- of SF to my left thumb, middle and pinky, as well as to my right index and ring fingers. The rest got one generous layer of the Catrice. I tried to do the same with the ChG one, but eventually had to give two to get an even coverage. I got that with the Catrice on my first attempt, so the Catrice is a winner there. I didn't apply any Seche Vite so as to not to distort the end result in any way and give an honest opinion regarding glossiness when bare. A couple of differences can be observed already: the golden shimmer particles on SF are bigger than those of the Catrice, which seems to have the gold incorporated into the polish itself. The base colour is very similar, but the ChG seems more in-your-face to me. I would say SF is glossier or maybe BSW has a more muted-glossiness, so to speak.

Día 2: Pequeñísimo desconchón en el índice de la mano derecha (SF), por la tarde.
Día 3: El desconchón se ha hecho un poquito más grande, pero ninguna queja.
Day 2: Tiny chip on my right index (SF), in the afternoon.
Day 3: Chipping is now a bit bigger, but no complaints really.




Día 4: Tras una mañana de cocinillas, el desconchón ya se nota más, pero el resto de uñas sólo tienen el típico desgaste en las puntas. Muy contenta, teniendo en cuenta que no llevo topcoat alguno. A media tarde, retoco un poco las puntas para después estrenar el crackling negro de P2.
Día 5: Por la mañana -día en que hacemos el sorteo, por cierto- , mini desconchón en el dedo corazón de la mano derecha. Está aguantando muy bien. A mediodía ya tengo algún desconchón más en la mano derecha, curiosamente en los laterales y no en las puntas en sí.




Day 4: After spending the morning in the kitchen, chipping is more noticeable, but the only thing I can notice on the other nails is the usual tipwear. Very pleased with these, considering I have no topcoat on whatsoever. In the afternoon I gave my nails a touch-up so I could use my P2 crackling in black for the first time.
Day 5: In the morning -giveaway draw day, btw- I have a tiny chip on my right middle finger. It's holding up fine. In the afternoon I can see other chipped nails in my right hand, but on the sides rather than on the tips which would have been what one would expect.

Cracklings P2

Subflava dedicó recientemente una entrada a sus esmaltes de craquelado, así que en esta entrada os voy a enseñar con más detalle los míos, todos de la marca P2 y comprados en Berlín en el DM.

Hasta hace poco, la marca P2 disponía únicamente de dos esmaltes de craquelado, los crackling '010 Black Explosion ' y '020 Silver Blast' a los que desde marzo de 2011 se les ha unido el '030 Golden Rush'. Contienen 11 ml y cuestan 1,75 € por lo que la relación calidad/precio es inmejorable.

De momento sólo he usado el dorado y el plateado.

Subflava recently shared with us all her crackling topcoats so I thought I could perhaps show you mine in greater detail. All of them are from P2, one of DM's own brands and were part of our Berlin hauls.

Until recently, P2 only offered two different crackling topcoats in '010 Black Explosion' and '020 Silver Blast' the latest addition being '030 Golden Rush' released in March 2011. They contain 11ml, cost €1,75 and are therefore excellent value for money.

So far I've only used the silver and the golden one.

Este tipo de esmaltes me parecen una forma ideal de darle un nuevo aspecto a la manicura que ya tenemos en un par de minutos. Hay que aplicarlos sobre un esmalte bien seco y nada más hacerlo ya podemos comprobar como se va 'rompiendo' produciendo este acabado tan característico y tan de moda ahora mismo.

Secan en un tiempo récord y el acabado es mate, por lo que si eso no os convence siempre podéis poner una capa de topcoat brillante encima.

I think these crackles are a great way of giving your current mani a new look in just a few minutes. They must be applied over dry polish and right after the application this topcoat begins to 'break' thus creating this peculiar and trendy finish. They dry really fast and leave a matte finish, so if you're not too fond of this you can always top it all with one coat of shiny topcoat.

En las fotos apliqué varias capas del esmalte base de P2 'Base & Care Coat'. ¿Por qué varias capas? Pues porque impaciente de mí, estaba deseando hacer los chuaches en la rueda y no esperé el tiempo suficiente y se me ocurrió la “brillante idea” de plantarle el dedazo para ver si ya estaba seco. La paciencia es una virtud de la que, como véis, carezco.

In the pictures I applied several coats of the P2 'Base & Care Coat'. Why several, you're probably wondering. Well, the thing is I was so eager to make the swatches on the nailwheel that I didn't wait long enough for it to dry and had the 'brilliant idea' to put my finger on it to check. Patience is a virtue I lack of, you know.

Essence ha sacado en su última actualización dos tonos de crackling, en blanco y en negro. Subflava nos enseñaba en su post el blanco aunque reconozco que no me acaba de convencer. No sé si lo acabaré comprando o no...

Essence released two crackles in their latest range update, in black and white. Subflava included the white one in her post though I confess I have mixed feelings towards it. Don't know if I'll get it or not, the jury's still out on that one.

UDLS/NOTW - Catrice '280 - London's Weather Forecast'

Como comentaba en la entrada anterior, el único esmalte de Catrice de los que compré en Berlín, que he probado hasta el momento fue el London's Weather Forecast.
Es un tono gris azulado muy especial. Creo recordar que apliqué una capa generosa de esmalte, que cubrió mis uñas perfectamente sin dejar entrever la línea de la uña.

As I mentioned in my previous blogpost, the only Catrice polish from the ones I purchased in Berlin that I've tried so far is London's Weather Forecast.
It's a very special colour, a grey with strong blue undertones. I think this one was a one thick coater, enough to cover my nails and with no visible nail line.

Ya dije en la entrada anterior que sabía de antemano de la calidad de los esmaltes de Catrice, la hermana mayor de Essence y la verdad es que no me han decepcionado. La fórmula tiene la consistencia necesaria, ni muy espesa ni muy líquida y el pincel se desliza casi solo por la uña. Os puedo asegurar que no soy una persona que tenga un buen pulso -como mi hermana- y antaño mis manicuras eran un desastre, sobre todo la mano derecha.

I said in my previous entry that I knew beforehand that Catrice polishes, Essence's big sister, were of outstanding quality and I have not been disappointed in the least. The formula has the right consistency, neither too thick nor too liquidy and the brush seems to glide over the nail. I swear I'm not one of these people who have been blessed with steady hands -like my sis- and in the past my manis were a mess, particularly my right hand.

Evidentemente, con la práctica todo mejora, pero os aseguro que no me dejé 'berretes' ni en una mano ni en la otra.

I know that practice makes perfect, but I can assure you there was no mess to clean up on either hand.

Me dio la impresión de que el tiempo de secado sería bueno, pero yo usé una capa de Seche Vite, por lo que tampoco lo puedo asegurar.

I got the impression that drying time was good, though I topped it all with a coat of Seche Vite, so I can't really stick my neck out for it.

Creo que me aguantó bien tres días, lo normal. Cuando amenace con desconcharse alguna uña, siempre podéis darle algo de 'vidilla' y cambiarle un poquito 'la cara' a vuestra manicura.

I think it lasted fine three days, the usual. When chipping threatens to make an appearance it's time to 'spice up' your mani a little bit and give it a 'nail lift', ;)
