UDLS/NOTW: China Glaze 'Awakening'.

Hola, chicas:

Aquí estoy otra vez para enseñaros mi última manicura, pero esta vez con un toque especial que la hace más duradera.

Tras mi última visita a la peluquería, de lan la que salí con una de las últimas manicuras que habéis visto me quedé con el toque de que aunque cueste más retirarla, una manicura de gel dura lo que muchos esmaltes prometen, es decir, una larga duración.

En mi caso, me da mucha rabia que llevando las uñas pintadas se echen a perder tras lavarme el pelo. Pero claro, como contra, no es plan de tirar los esmaltes que ya tenemos. Así que viendo videos y leyendo opiniones de productos, me decidí a probar un término medio: usar una base y topcoat de gel con esmaltes normales.  El esmalte de China Glaze, también lo sequé en la lámpara. 

Lo cierto es que el experimento ha salido bien, puesto que la manicura me duró 11 días. Me lavé el pelo en tres ocasiones y ya fue en la última cuando empezó a acusar el desgaste.
Para retirarla, utilicé acetona pura y tapé con papel albal un par de minutos. Luego froté primero y raspé un poquito para quitar el esmalte. Los restos los retiré metiendo los dedos en un bote de quitaesmaltes sin acetona. Posteriormente, apliqué aceite en mis uñas para mimarlas un poco. 

La base y el topcoat que os enseño los compré en *Amazon*, aunque creo que los tenéis más baratos en Aliexpress, si no os importa esperar. Me costaron los dos 9,99€. La lámpara es del Aldi.

 

Otra gente mezcla unas gotas de topcoat en gel con la misma cantidad de esmalte normal, pero como ya sabéis que a mí me van las soluciones rápidas, preferí la otra opción.

I'm back one more time with a mani, but one with a twist to make it last even longer.

After my last visit to the hair salon, which I left sporting a gel mani that I recently shared with you, I was left wondering that even if removal is trickier, gels do stay true to their promises regarding long-lasting wear times.

As for me, I'm terribly frustrated when my manis get ruined after washing my hair and there's no point ditching my regular polishes to get gels, is there? Anyway, I turned to youtube and online reviews and decided to try something in between: using a gel base and top coat with regular polishes.
I cured the China Glaze polish on the lamp as well. 



To be honest the experiment has exceeded my expectations, as my mani lasted a whopping 11 days. In the meantime, I'd washed my tresses three times and it was only by the third time that the polish began to peel.

Removal consisted of soaking a small piece of cotton pad in pure acetone and wrapping my nails for a couple minutes in foil. I then rubbed the pad and carefully scraped off the remaining product. Eventually, I also gave them a final clean-up with one of those dip-in nail polish remover bottles. The last step was to pamper my nails with some oil.

The gel base and topcoat I used are from *Amazon*, although you can get them cheaper at Aliexpresss as long as you don't mind the wait. The set was €9.99. The lamp I used is from Aldi.

What other people do is mix some gel topcoat with the same amount of regular polish, but you know I'm a sucker for quick fixes, lol.

Manicura de Nochevieja / NYE Mani: China Glaze x2

Hola, chicas:

Hoy me gustaría compartir con vosotros la manicura exprés que me hice en Nochevieja.
Como véis, combiné dos viejos conocidos de mi arsenal, que están como el primer día.

Lo cierto es que había pensado hacerla combinando el rojo y el dorado, pero para mi sorpresa, el rojo estaba seco y lo he tenido que jubilar anticipadamente y está ya en una entrada de Terminados.

Me apliqué una capa de base (Essence), una capa generosa de estos esmaltes. Con un 'dotting tool' hice puntos en dorado y dejé secar un poco antes de aplicar el esmalte de acabado, también de Essence.

Esta manicura me duró 4 días. Empezó a estropearse tras lavarme el pelo el esmalte en varias uñas, principalmente en la mano derecha.

¿Os pintásteis las uñas para recibir el año?

Today I'd like to share with you the quick mani I gave myself for NYE. As you see, I combined two old fellas in my stash that I'm happy to report are as good as new.

The truth is I had planned to combine gold and red, but I was in for a surprise as that had dried out for good. It took early retirement and is now on an Empties post.

After applying my Essence basecoat, I applied a generous coat of these polishes and allowed them enough drying time before using a 'dotting tool' with the gold varnish. I then waited a couple of minutes before I finished this mani off with my trusted Essence topcoat. 



This mani lasted in great condition for 4 days. I washed my hair and then I started to get some chipped tips, especially on my right hand.

UDLS / NOTW: Francesa festiva - Festive French (17 + China Glaze + Essence)

Hoy os traigo una manicura festiva, que espero os guste.

Comencé aplicando una capa de base (Essence BTGN) para proteger las uñas de los tonos que iba a aplicar. Pasados unos minutos, apliqué de una a dos capas del esmalte rojo de 17, de nombre "Knockout Red", que recibí de Sarah Louise en un intercambio. Tras dejarlo secar unos minutos, apliqué en las puntas una capa del esmalte dorado de China Glaze 'Midnight Kiss' que habéis visto ya otra veces. Esperé un poco a que estuviera lo suficientemente seco antes de aplicar una capa del topper de brillos de Essence 'Make it Golden'.

Por último, una capa de esmalte de acabado de la misma gama que la base para proteger todas las capas y que durara más.

Durar, duró, como unos cuatro días en buen estado -no está mal. Eso sí, lo difícil fue retirarlo por completo. Durante días quedaron pequeños restos de esmalte que fui incapaz de retirar.



Con este tipo de manicuras, id a lo seguro y usad una base peel-off, para retirar el esmalte como una pegatina, sin sufrir.

Today I'm back with a festive mani that I hope you'll like.

I started off by applying some basecoat (Essence BTGN) to protect my nails from the different colours I intended to use. A few minutes later, I added one to two coats of the pure red polish from 17 that I got from Sarah Louise as part of a swap.
I allowed a few minutes for drying and painted my tips with China Glaze's 'Midnight Kiss' that you've seen me using before. I waited until that was dry enough to continue, this time adding a coat of the Essence topper in 'Make it Golden'.

My final step was to add topcoat, from the same range as my base, in order to protect the mani and increase its wear.



And last it did, as I wore this in good condition for about four days. The only drawback -and it was a major one- was getting rid of all the colour completely. I had to keep tiny specks of polish on my nails for a few days, as it was impossible to wipe my nails clean of such burst of colour, lol.



Don't be as daft as I was and use a peel-off basecoat if you attempt something similar, and you'll be able to peel the polish off like a sticker without batting an eyelid.

UDLS / NOTW: Francesa navideña con Catrice y China Glaze / Xmas French with Catrice and CG

Hola, chicas:

¿Qué tal se han portado los Reyes? Si recordáis, nosotras nos dimos los regalos antes de nochebuena, así que durante este tiempo hemos tenido ocasión de estrenar ya alguna cosilla.
Os enseño el primer esmalte que he estrenado de los que me regaló Marian en Navidad.



En las fotos, llevo una capa del Nail Envy de OPI. Cuando se secó, apliqué de una a dos capas del esmalte de Catrice 'Yes, You Tan' de la colección Bohemia. Una vez que estuvo lo suficientemente seco, apliqué un poco del esmalte dorado 'Midnight Kiss' de China Glaze en las puntas.



Ya sabéis que me gustan las manicuras rápidas y resultonas. Tengo varias similares para enseñaros próximamente.

Creo recordar que me duró 3 días.
Las fotos las ha hecho Marian, utilizando su nuevo flash (sí, ese que le he regalado por Navidad). Dice que es una pasada eso de poder rebotar el flash al techo. Así, las sombras no quedan tan marcadas.

Bueno, esto es todo por ahora.

Were the Three Wise Men good to you? Did you get many presents? If you remember, we gave each other our presents a few days before Christmas Eve, so we've had enough time to test some of the stuff we got.
Today I'd like to show you the first polish I've tried from those Marian gave me this Christmas.



In the pics I'm wearing a coat of OPI's Nail Envy. Once dry, I applied one to two coats of Catrice's 'Yes, You Tan' from the Bohemia LE. Once it was dry enough I applied a bit of China Glaze's 'Midnight Kiss' on the tips for a festive French look.
You know I can't resist an elite and quick mani. I have several of these that I'll be posting in the near future.



If my memory serves me right, I think I wore this for three days.
For the photoshoot Marian used her brand new flashlight that she got from me this Christmas. According to her, being able to do bounce flash is the best of all. This way, shadows are less noticeable.

UDLS / NOTW: China Glaze 'Awakening'

¿Qué tal lleváis el verano? Esperamos que entre baño y baño en la playa y/o piscina, nos hagáis un hueco para leernos un ratín.
Nuestro viaje fue estupendo. Ahora nos toca ponernos como locas a escribir las entradas pertinentes. 

En el post de hoy me gustaría compartir con vosotras este hermoso esmalte de China Glaze que Marian me regaló por mi cumpleaños. Es el tipo de color que me gusta a mí, con toques dorados. ¡Si es que yo nací para rica y me tengo que conformar con llevar algo dorado en las uñas!



La manicura que luzco en las fotos me duró tres días y se echó a perder con las consabidas tareas domésticas. Algunas de las fotos están hechas poco rato antes de despintármelas y se aprecian algunos desperfectos.



En las fotos llevo una capa de la base selladora 'Soft White de la gama Better Than Gel Nails de Essence.
Cuando estuvo lo suficientemente seca, apliqué de una a dos capas de este esmalte que aún no había estrenado.
Tras un par de minutos, aplico el esmalte de secado 'Fast Dry' de la misma gama y marca que la base.

How's summer? I hope you're not too tired with so much dips in the pool / ocean to spend a few minutes reading us.
Our trip was awesome. Now all we have to do is work our asses off and write the posts we promised you. 

In today's post I'd like to share with you this gorgeous China Glaze lacquer Marian gave me for my last birthday. It's my kind of colour, with hints of gold. You see, I was born to be a millionaire and wearing something gold is what I have to settle for!

The mani I'm sporting in the pictures lasted three days on me. Chipping started once I got some housechores done. I took some of the pics shortly before removal and the damage to the polish of some nails is clearly visible.



I'm wearing a coat of the Essence 'Soft White - Better Than Gel Nails' base sealer.
Once it dried I used one to two coats of this polish I hadn't got round to using yet.
A few minutes later, I applied my usual topcoat from the same brand and range as the basecoat.



The mani got ruined by day 3 after washing my hair. The pictures with no bottle show how the polish on some nails already looks a bit worse for wear. 

Al tercer día se me chafa tras lavarme el pelo. En las fotos sin el bote véis cómo el esmalte en varias uñas está ya un poco perjudicado.

Parecidos razonables / Reasonable lookalikes: Wild and Crazy 'Amnesia' vs. China Glaze 'Awakening'.

Hacía muchísimo tiempo que no subía una entrada de este tipo. Seguro que ya las echábais de menos.

Pues bien. En esta ocasión vengo a compararos los esmaltes "Amnesia" de Wild and Crazy (que me regaló Marox) y el "Awakening" de China Glaze (que le he regalado a Marox por su cumpleaños).

No son clones exactos, como podéis ver en la foto, pero sí son bastante parecidos.
Probablemente, si los viérais por separado, no podríais distinguir uno de otro. Yo, al menos, creo que no podría.
El esmalte de Wild and Crazy tiene un tono lila con reflejos dorados, y el de China Glaze es un morado con subtono rosado, también con reflejos dorados.

¿Os gustan este tipo de esmaltes? Duocromos, con reflejos...

It's been ages since my last post of this kind. I'm sure you were missing them.

Well, this time I'm comparing the polishes 'Amnesia', from Wild and Crazy (which Marox gave me), and 'Awakening' from China Glaze (which I gave Marox for her birthday).

They're not exact dupes, as you can see in the pic, but they're really similar.
Probably, if you saw them separately, you couldn't make a difference between them. At least, I couldn't do it.



The polish from Wild and Crazy is in a lilac shade with golden reflections, and the China Glaze one is in a purple shade with pinky undertones, also with golden reflections.

Mis regalos de cumpleaños / My birthday presents

Hola, chicas:

En esta ocasión, voy a enseñaros lo que me han regalado por mi cumpleaños.
Para inspirarse, Marian suele consultar mi wishlist.

1- En primer lugar, me regaló una esponjita de maquillaje de Vanity Tools, para sustituir a la que estaba usando de Buyincoins que ya tenía motitas de moho y estaba pidiendo un relevo A GRITOS.
Ya la he estrenado y de momento, va bien. Aumenta bastante de tamaño al mojarla y me da la sensación de que chupa algo más de producto que la otra, pero deja un acabado muy pulido al aplicar la BB Cream -que suelo mezclar con una gotita de maquillaje oscuro que tengo por ahí-.



2 - Necesitar, necesitar, no necesito más esmaltes de uñas, pero son taan bonitos, que es difícil resistirse. El 'Awakening' de China Glaze lo compró en una tienda local de productos de peluquería, ProDuo, que los tiene bastante bien de precio.
Aún no lo he probado, pero imagino que dará buen resultado como los que he probado de la marca hasta ahora.
Nos ha recordado un poco a uno que ya teníamos, así que pronto tendréis una entrada de "Parecidos Razonables".

3 - Esmaltes de Catrice en los tonos 'Mint me up' y 'Berry Potter and Plumbledore'. De momento, sólo he usado el 'Mint me up' y me ha gustado mucho.
Me alegro un montón de tener la marca Catrice un poco más a mano, sin tener que depender de una página web.



Lo siguiente han sido regalos de mis padres, comprados en Koröshi y una boutique local. En Koroshi tenían una oferta 3x2, así que aproveché para cogerle algo a Marian.

4 - Cazadora de imitación piel en tono verde menta, de Koröshi: Tenía ganas de una de estas cazadoras de hace tiempo, pero nunca me decidía. En casa de mis padres estamos de reforma y hemos aprovechado para hacer limpieza de armarios, así que como le dí una cazadora de este estilo pero más "sosa" a una conocida, era la ocasión perfecta para cogerme una más moderna. Precio: 39,99€

5 - Camiseta de manga corta de Koröshi: Tiene un detalle en el escote como de gasa y unas mariposas en la parte baja, así como un adorno de lentejuelas. Queda muy bonita puesta y me gusta que sea larguita. La tenían igual en blanco, pero no lucía igual.
Precio: 16,99€, aunque me salió gratis con la promoción.

6 - Vestido : Perdón por la calidad de la foto. Ando tan liada que ni le he hecho una foto en condiciones.
Está fabricado en España y es de la marca Vagum.
Comprado en una boutique local, donde nos hicieron un pequeño descuento. Marcaba 85€ y me cobraron unos 5€ menos. 

Por último, he hecho un pedido de cosmética coreana hace un par de días a modo de autorregalo.

Me habría gustado subir esta entrada el día de mi cumpleaños, hace ya un par de semanas, pero con el jaleo de la reforma y demás, me ha resultado imposible.

Today I'll be showing you my B-day gifts.
Marian usually gets some hints by taking a look at my wishlist.

1- First of all, she gave me the Vanity Tools makeup sponge, a must-needed replacement for the Buyincoins one I was using until now. The old one was specked with mould and simply HAD to go.
I've already used this and so far, so good. It gets quite big when wet, though I get the impression that it soaks up a bit more product than the one I'd been using earlier, though the end result is flawless. I use it to apply my BB Cream, adding a drop of a darker foundation I have.

2- I don't really need more polishes, but they're sooo pretty that it's very hard to resist.
She bought the 'Awakening' polish from China Glaze at a local beauty supply store, ProDuo, which sells these polishes at a reasonable price.
I haven't tried it yet, but I guess it'll be as good as others from the brand that I've tried so far.
It reminds us of another one that we have, so expect another 'Reasonable Lookalikes' post  soon.



3- Polishes from Catrice in the shades 'Mint me up' and 'Berry Potter and Plumbledore'. I've only used the 'Mint me up' one and I loved it.
I'm soo glad to have a place where I can get Catrice rather than having to order online.



The following items were from my parents', purchased at Koröshi and a local boutique. Koröshi had a 'Buy 2, get 3' promotion, so I grabbed the chance to get a little something for Marian.

4 - Mint faux leather jacket, from Koröshi: I've been after one of these for a while, but I never took the next step and just buy one. We're in the middle of a partial home reno at my parents' and we evidently grabbed the chance to clean out the closets in the process. I had another jacket I seldom wore as it was too dull and boring that I've now given away, so this was the perfect excuse to finally get a more stylish version.
Price: 39.99 EUR

5 - Short-sleeved T-shirt from Koröshi: It has a gossamer-like insert at the neck and a butterfly print at the waist, as well as a sequin embellishment. It looks really cute when worn and I like the fact that it is on the long side. They had it in white too, but it was nowhere near as pretty as the black one.
Price: 16.99 EUR, though I got it for free thanks to the 3x2 deal I mentioned.

6- Dress: Sorry for the bad quality of the pic.
I'm so busy that I've had no time to take a better pic.
It's made in Spain by the brand Vagum. 
It was bought at a local boutique, where they gave me a small discount. It originally cost €85, but I paid about five euros less.



Last but not least, I placed a small order for some Korean goodies a couple of days ago as a 'happy birthday to me' gift. I meant to upload this post on my birthday, but with the home reno at my parents' and all that, it was simply impossible.

UDLS / NOTW: Manicura navideña - Xmas mani

Hacía tiempo que no os traía una manicura. No se trata de ningún esmalte nuevo, sino de una combinación de esmaltes que me pareció adecuada para estas fiestas.

En las fotos, llevo una capa de la base 'Nail Envy' de OPI, seguida de dos capas del esmalte #51 de RivaldeLoop (comprado en una droguería Rossmann de Berlín). Cuando estuvo lo suficientemente seco, apliqué una capa generosa del esmalte de efectos #67 'Make it Golden' de los antiguos Colour&Go de Essence, en todas las uñas salvo las anulares, donde había aplicado una capa generosa del 'Midnight Kiss' de China Glaze. Para prolongar la duración de la manicura, apliqué una capa del esmalte de acabado Poshé. No me puedo quejar de la duración de esta manicura, ya que me duró más de cuatro días, fregando, limpiando y demás.

It's been a while since my last mani. I don't have any new lacquers to show, but rather a combo of polishes that I thought would look great together in this holiday season.



In the pics, I'm wearing a coat of the 'Nail Envy' by OPI basecoat, followed by two of the #51 RivaldeLoop polish that I bought at a Rossmann discount drugstore in Berlin. Once it was dry enough, I added a generous layer of the Essence glitter #67 'Make it Golden' from their now discontinued old range of Colour & Go polishes. I applied that in all nails except for my ring fingernails, which were painted with a generous layer of the China Glaze 'Midnight Kiss' lacquer.
To extend the wear of this mani, I topped it with some Poshé topcoat. I don't have anything bad to say about the lasting time of this mani, more than four days, doing the washing up, cleaning and that kind of stuff.

Manicura Patriótica / Patriotic Mani: Catrice '450 Sand Francisco'

¡Hola a todas!

Hoy me gustaría felicitaros en este día de la Hispanidad / del Pilar con una manicura con un toque patriótico. Aunque me la hice a mediados de agosto, durante las Olimpiadas, al final fueron pasando los días y no la subí, así que qué mejor día que hoy para compartirlo con vosotras.

En este 12 de octubre, se conmemora el descubrimiento de América, momento a partir del cual se unen la historia de España y América.
La celebración incluye un tradicional desfile militar, que por desgracia es muchas veces aprovechado por grupos independentistas y de otro tipo para expresar su descontento, tanto de forma pacífica y respetuosa, como por desgracia con insultos a representantes políticos e institucionales y ataques a la bandera española como símbolo, delito que, cómo no, suele quedar sin castigo.

Día 1: Me doy dos capas de este esmalte de Catrice, después de dar una de la base de P2. Cuando se seca, con el pincel de nail art del 'Designer Kit' de Essence y el City Siren de China Glaze, pinto a mano alzada dos finas franjas rojas en las uñas de los dedos anulares y protejo con un poco de SV.

Hi everyone!

Today I'd like to wish you a happy Hispanicity / Columbus Day or Spain's National Day, a day also dedicated to Our Lady of the Pillar with this patriotic mani. I actually did it back in August during the Olympics, but days went by without my uploading it. There's no better day than today to 'rescue' it from my backlog and share it with all of you.

October 12th marks the discovery of America, a landmark that would join the history of Spain and America from then on. The celebration includes a military parade that is unfortunately used by some pro-independence groups and other people to protest against the government, its institutions and national symbols. This is sometimes done peacefully and respectfully but more often with insults and violent manifestations against the Spanish flag as a symbol, an offence that unfortunately often goes unpunished by the Spanish Courts.

Day 1: I apply two coats of this Catrice lacquer, after using my P2 basecoat. Once dry, I used the brush included in the 'Designer Nail Art Kit' from Essence and China Glaze's City Siren to freehand two thin red stripes in my ring nails. I then protected my nails with some SV.

Día 4: Me lo quito antes de lavarme el pelo. Aguantó bien, con sólo algo de desgaste en las puntas de algunas uñas de la mano derecha.

Que paséis un feliz día. Marian y yo vamos a prepararnos para darnos un remojónen la piscina climatizada.

Day 4: I took this off before I washed my hair. It lasted quite well on me, with only some minor tipwear in my right-hand nails.

UDLS / NOTW: China Glaze 'City Siren' + Claire's

Hoy os traigo una manicura "de archivo" algo accidentada. Está visto que algunos días, tendría que mantenerme alejada de cualquier esmalte.

I have a somewhat eventful mani for you today. You see, some days I should really stay away from any nail polish bottle.




Día 1: Por la mañana, después de una capa del Nail Envy de OPI, aplico una capa generosa de este esmalte cortesía de Iris. Tengo un pequeño estropicio en el meñique izquierdo por culpa de una pelusa. El esmalte es muy pigmentado, así que supongo que podría servir como esmalte de estampación. Aplico una capa de Chip Skip, que todavía no había probado: es muy líquido y a pesar de haber esperado un rato para aplicarlo, se lleva parte del esmalte, dejando un pequeño hueco en el pulgar derecho que tengo que retocar. El Chip Skip queda además teñido de rojizo.
Después añado de una a dos capas del esmalte de Claire's de brillitos que nos mandó Iris y que Marian bautizó en su honor, que le da un toque festivo a las uñas y tapará alguna imperfección, seguido de un toque de Seche Vite.

Al rato, se me chafa el pulgar derecho (estuve cocinando un poco), pero con la de productos que me he puesto, a saber qué fue. Retoco, con sólo el City Siren.




Day 1: In the morning, after a coat of OPI's Nail Envy, I apply a generous coat of this polish, courtesy of the lovely Iris. I had some mishap on my left pinky because of a strand of fluff. This polish is very pigmented, so I guess it could do for stamping. I apply a coat of Chip Skip, that was still sitting in my untrieds: unlike other topcoats it's very watery and even though I waited a long time prior to application, the polish bleeds in the process. There was a gap in my right thumb that required a touch up. Our Chip Skip is also stained red, oops.
I later add one to two coats of the Claire's flakie polish Marian very aptly baptized as Iris. It gives this mani a lovely festive touch and also disguises imperfections, followed by some Seche Vite.

A while later, after some messing around in the kitchen, my right thumb has chipped, but considering all the stuff I put into this mani, heaven knows what caused it. I do a touch-up, but only with City Siren.



No recuerdo cuantos días me duró y cosa rara, no lo apunté tampoco. Me pareció un rojo superfavorecedor.

I don't remember how long I wore this for and didn't write it down either. I thought this was a most flattering red.

UDLS / NOTW: China Glaze 'Let's Groove' + ColorClub 'Gingerbread Man'

Hoy me gustaría enseñaros la manicura que lucí hace ya algunas semanas. El esmalte de base ya os lo había enseñado anteriormente, al principio de la andadura de este blog, pero en esta ocasión me pareció que combinaría muy bien con el esmalte dorado que nos mandó Iris.
Os lo enseño solito y también en buena compañía. Las fotos en esta ocasión están hechas con la réflex de Marian, que se empeñó en captar unos brillitos azuladitos que mi ojo no ve en absoluto.

Today I'd like to share with you the mani I sported some weeks ago. The base polish was one of the first I showed in the blog, but I wore it again because I thought it teamed well with the gold polish for stamping that we got from Iris. Here it is both by itself and in good company. Pictures were made with Marian's DLSR this time, which insisted on capturing some blueish shimmer my eye does not see at all.






Día 1: Aplico una capa de Nail Envy y cuando está seca, una de este esmalte. No aplico TC. Horas más tarde, con el esmalte ya seco, Marian me hace una estampación en dos uñas de cada mano, usando una de las placas de Essence (la del ancla). Aunque unos diseños han quedado mejores que otros, sí que se nota una gran diferencia con los conatos de estampación que hicimos con el Midnight Kiss en su día. El diseño queda mucho más claro. Para obtener mejores resultados, tendremos que practicar más, evidentemente. Aplico SV en todas las uñas.



Day 1: I apply one coat of Nail Envy and once dry, one of this polish. No TC. A few hours later, on perfectly dry polish, Marian stamped two accent nails on each hand with one of my Essence plates (the one with the anchor image). Though the neatness varies depending on the nail, generally speaking the results are a lot better than with our early feeble attempts at stamping that we did my Midnight Kiss. For better results, nothing better than more practice, obviously. SV on all nails.

Día 3: Ayer se intuía desgaste en las puntas, que hoy ha ido a más tras una mañana de limpieza. El mayor desconchón lo tengo en el dedo medio derecho y quiere empezar a desconcharse el índice derecho. Si mal no recuerdo, me lo quité ese día más tarde.

Day 3: Tipwear made itself noticed the day before and it's got worse after a morning of cleaning up at home. The biggest chipping is on my right middle finger and the index is threatening to begin peeling too. If I'm not mistaken I took it off later that day.

Comparativa / Side by Side Comparison: China Glaze 'Urban Night' vs. Minicolorama 'Dark Plum'

Hacía tiempo que no os traía una comparativa, así que hoy le ha tocado el turno a dos preciosos esmaltes morados. El de China Glaze, fue cortesía de Iris *aquí* y el Minicolorama se vino conmigo desde Tallin. Como véis, han sido dos esmaltes viajeros, jeje.

It's been a while since my last comparison post, so let me show you two gorgeous purple polishes today. Meet China Glaze 'Urban Night', courtesy of sweet Iris *here* and the Minicolorama was one of my souvenirs from Tallinn. As you can see, I have two travelling lacquers for you, lol.

Día 1: Por la noche, aplico una capa de Nail Envy y después en la mano izquierda el Urban Night de China Glaze. Aplico dos capas, para conseguir una cobertura óptima. En el índice la primera capa me salió más gruesa y me vale con una. En la mano derecha, aplico una capa generosa del 'Dark Plum' del Minicolorama. No aplico Seche Vite, ya que tenía en mente una estampación coordinada -que luego no hice-, aunque quizá habría sido lo mejor, ya que pasadas unas horas tengo marcas en las dos manos. El color es clavadito.


Day 1: At night, I apply one coat of Nail Envy and then 'Urban Night' from CG. I gave it two coats for full opacity. My index got a thicker coat and I could get away with just one. In my right hand, I apply a generous coat of 'Dark Plum' from Maybelline's Minicoloramas. No Seche Vite, as I had a coordinated stamping in mind -that eventually never did- though I should have, as a few hours later I have tiny marks in both hands. These are perfect dupes, imo.

Día 3: Sesión de fotos. En la mano derecha ya se ven las puntas un poco desgastadas.

Day 3: Photoshoot. My right hand shows some signs of tipwear.

Día 4: Después de ducharme, aguantaron bastante bien, así que apuro esta manicura un poco más, hasta el día siguiente.

Day 4: After washing my hair, it's still doing good, so I stretch this mani a bit longer, to the following day.

Cuando me lo quito al día siguiente, se me manchan un poco las uñas, aunque quizá podría haberme esmerado un poco más para que no pasara -era tarde y casi ni veía, jeje-.


When I took this off the following day, my nails got stained a bit, though I could probably made more effort to prevent it- was late and I could barely see what I was doing!, lol.

Se trata del tono 'Urban Night' de la colección 'Metro (Uptown)', un precioso morado de acabado cremoso.

'Urban Night' was released with the 'Metro (Uptown) LE from China Glaze and it's a gorgeous deep purple with a creamy finish.


Base: Nail Envy OPI
1-2 capas / 1-2 coats
Sin topcoat / No topcoat.

Comparativa / Side-by-side comparison: Essence '#53 All Access' vs. China Glaze 'Emerald Fitzgerald'

Hace tiempo que no os traigo una comparativa en profundidad. En este caso la hago entre dos esmaltes de mi colección: el de Essence -que os enseñé hace poco en *este* post, lamentablemente hará unos dos años que fue retirado, mientras que el de China Glaze todavía podéis encontrarlo por Internet. El mío lo compré usado (casi nuevo) en Ebay España.

It's been a while since my last side-by-side comparison. This time I'm doing it with two polishes from my own collection: unfortunately the Essence polish that I shared with you *here* is long discontinued -at least two years- whereas the China Glaze lacquer is still available from e-retailers. I got mine (used, almost brand new) from Ebay Spain.

Día 1: Por la noche, aplico una capa de base de Basic. En la izq. una capa del All Access en el pulgar, corazón y meñique, que aplico también en la derecha en los dedos índice y anular -donde al ser más espeso, se me rebela un poco en el lateral.

El de China Glaze lo aplico en la izq en el índice y anular, pero necesita dos capas o al menos capas más gruesas que el de Essence. En la dcha, el de China Glaze en pulgar, corazón y meñique, que de nuevo necesita capas más gruesas para conseguir un acabado uniforme.

Son muy, muy parecidos, aunque quizá el de China Glaze tiene un puntito azul, que hace que el tono verde del de Essence sea más intenso.

Day 1: At night, I apply one coat of my Basic basecoat. One coat of All Access in my left thumb, middle and pinky, also applied in my right index and ring fingers – I did have some problems on the side with it being thicker.

China Glaze is applied therefore onto my left index and ring fingers, but it takes two coats or at least thicker coats than the Essence. On the right hand, it is applied onto my thumb, middle and pinky, again needing thicker coats to get rid of bald spots.

These are very, very similar, though the CG one has blue undertones making the green in the Essence polish stand out more.

Día 4: Está aguantando bastante bien, ya que no llevo SV. El día anterior tocó mañana de limpieza y tengo algún pequeño desconchón en las uñas de la mano derecha, pero no se notan demasiado. Me lo quito ese día.

Day 4: This is holding up quite well, as I'm not wearing SV. After a house cleaning session the day before, my right hand shows some minor chipping, but not very noticeable. Took it off on Day 4.
