Hazlo tú: Paleta de labiales casera - DIY: Homemade lipstick palette.

Hoy os traigo un "Hazlo tú" de lo más sencillo. Seguro que tenéis alguna barra de labios que no usáis demasiado porque es demasiado oscura, clara, seca..., o simplemente porque no os gusta el color.

Cogiendo un poquito de aquí, otro de allá, se pueden crear colores únicos.

Sé que con esto no estoy haciendo un gran descubrimiento. Seguro que la mayoría de vosotras habéis fundido un par de trozos de labiales para crear uno de un color nuevo, o ese trozo de barra de labios que dabais ya por terminada y habéis conseguido sacar de su envase.

I'm here today with a super easy DIY. Surely you'll have a lipstick that you don't use much because it's too dark, light, drying..., or you just don't like its shade. But you can create unique colours by taking a little bit of here, a little bit of there...

I know that I'm not discovering anything new. I'm sure that most of you have melted some pieces of a lipstick to create a new one in a new colour, or maybe you melted that piece of lipstick you thought it was used up, after managing to take it out of its pack.

Personalmente, yo ya había hecho esto algunas veces. Pero lo "novedoso" de esto no es tanto lo que vamos a hacer, sino cómo lo vamos a presentar.

Personally, I've already done this some times. But the "innovative" thing is not what we're going to do, but the appearance we're giving it.

En esta entrada os hablábamos de unas paletas vacías que pedimos a Buyincoins. Las dos paletas pequeñas las teníamos reservadas para hacer sendas paletas de labiales: una para marox y otra para mí.

In this post we told you about the empty palettes we ordered from Buyincoins. We kept the two smallest ones to make two lipstick palettes: one for marox and the other one for me.

Sin más dilación, voy a detallaros lo que vais a necesitar:

*Una paleta vacía, con sus respectivos godets.

*Labiales (en barra, jumbos...).

*Una cucharilla de postre.

*Un cuchillo.

*Un palillo.

*Una vela (y mechero o cerillas para encenderla, como es lógico).

*Un recipiente que aguante el calor: en mi caso, usé un cenicero de cerámica.

*Cinta adhesiva de doble cara: esto es opcional, pero en nuestro caso, los godets se caían de la

paleta si le das la vuelta.

Without further ado, this is what you'll need:

*An empty palette, with its pans.

*Lipsticks (also lip jumbos).

*A coffee spoon.

*A knife.

*A toothpick.

*A candle (and a lighter or match to light it, obviously).

*A heat resistant recipient: I used an ashtray made of pottery.

*Double-sided adhesive tape: this is optional, but in our case, pans came out of the palette when turning it upside down.

En primer lugar, vamos pegando con cinta adhesiva los godets en sus respectivos huecos en la paleta. Cortamos los trozos de los labiales que vayamos a utilizar y los depositamos en la

cucharita. Si usamos jumbos, se puede cortar la punta con el cuchillo y sacar lo que hay dentro con un palillo.

Encendemos la vela y colocamos encima la cucharita con los trozos de labial. Poco a poco vemos cómo se va derritiendo (por cierto, que los de NYX se derriten en nada de tiempo). Removemos bien con el palillo para que quede homogéneo (muy importante si son colores distintos, para que

queden bien mezclados). Una vez esté bien hecha la mezcla, y todavía caliente (hay que hacerlo rápido, porque se enfría enseguida), verterla sobre el godet. Si no lo hacéis así, os puede pasar lo que os voy a enseñar en la tercera foto.

First of all, stick the pans to their places on the palette with the tape. Then cut the pieces of the lipsticks you want to use and put them on the coffee spoon. If you use a jumbo lip pencil, you can cut the end with a knife and take the content out with a toothpick.

Light the candle and put over it the spoon with the pieces of lipstick on it. Soon you'll see how they melt (btw, NYX's lipsticks melt at once). Mix well with the toothpick until it's smooth (this is very important if you're using different colours, to get them well mixed). Once this step is done, and with the mixture still hot, just pour on the pan (do this quickly, because the mixture gets cold very fast). If you don't do this as explained before, it could happen what I'm showing you on the third picture (just above this paragraph).

Y así es como han quedado nuestras paletas de labiales (hasta el momento).

Como podéis ver, la de marox ha quedado mucho mejor.

Definitely we can't get out of home. If we go out, we buy; and what do we buy? Make-up. Even on Sunday.

Seguramente estaréis pensando que los domingos las tiendas están cerradas (bueno, las de los chinos yo creo que no, pero ese es otro tema); pero para eso está el mercadillo: para salir de compras también en domingo.

You'll surely think that stores are closed on Sunday (I think it's not the same with Chinese euro stores, but that's another issue); but that's why street markets do exist: to go shopping also on Sunday.

Así que sin más dilación, voy a enseñaros lo que compramos.

So without further ado, this is what we bought.

Como veis, esta entrada bien podría ser un "haul" de L'Oreal HIP, porque todo lo que compramos es de esa marca.
Buscando y revolviendo entre las cestitas donde la vendedora tenía los productos, se me fueron los ojos a estos que veis.
Lo primero que ví fueron los dúos de sombras. Si no recuerdo mal, sólo tenían estos dos, así que no se iban a quedar en la cesta. Son el 318 "Flashy" y el 208 "Sassy". Vienen perfectamente precintados, pero supongo que los abriré para haceros los "chuaches". Además, tengo ganas de probar en persona cómo pigmentan. Todavía no hemos decidido cuál elegiremos cada una.

As you can see, this post could be a L'Oreal HIP haul, because all the things we purchased are from that brand.
Rummaging through all the beauty products the seller had in the baskets, then I had my eye on these you can see.
The first thing I saw were these eyeshadow duos. If I'm not wrong, these were the only ones in the basket, so they couldn't stay there anymore. They are 318 'Flashy' and 208 'Sassy'. Both are perfectly sealed, but I guess I'll open them to do the swatches. Besides, I'm very eager to try them on to check the pigmentation. We haven't decided yet which one we will choose.

Además, compramos estos labiales líquidos. De izquierda a derecha, 760 "Tainted", 780 "Indestructible", 660 "Euphoric", y de nuevo 760 "Tainted" (porque nos quedaremos uno cada una). De los otros dos, yo me quedaré con el "Indestructible" y marox con el "Euphoric".
No los hemos abierto todavía, pero prometemos "chuaches" (quizá los haga de todo antes de subir esta entrada).

Besides, we bought these liquid lipsticks. From left to right, 760 'Tainted', 780 'Indestructible', 660 'Euphoric', and 760 'Tainted' again (one for each one of us). From the other two, I'll choose 'Indestructible' and 'Euphoric' will be for marox. We haven't opened them yet, but we promise to do the swatches (maybe I'll do them all before uploading this post).

Regalo sorpresa - Surprise gift.

Marox ha querido darme una sorpresa prenavideña, en la que por cierto, se ha compinchado con Salander para pedirle consejo, y la verdad es que tanto mi hermana como su cómplice han estado muy acertadas.

Pero esta vez no me lo ha traído nuestro querido cartero, porque lo he recibido a través de agencia de transporte. Hizo el pedido a LadyBelleza.

Marox wanted to give me a 'before Christmas surprise', and by the way, she asked Salander for advice, and I must say that both my sister and her accomplice have chosen well.
But this time our beloved postman didn't bring it to me, as shipping was done through a transport agengy. Marox placed the order at a Spanish online beauty store, LadyBelleza.

Me había oído decir muchas veces que mi querido colorete de Chanel, que tengo desde hace 10 años más o menos, ya no pigmentaba. Así que ella tomó nota. Y en el paquetito había... un colorete de Sleek, en el tono "Sunrise", que me ha parecido precioso, y dos labiales de NYX, a los que le había echado el ojo cuando estuvimos en Beautik: el "Lala" y el "Medusa" (preciosos).

She'd often heard me complain of my beloved Chanel blusher poor colour payoff, since I've had that for more than 10 years now. And she took note. The package included... a Sleek blusher in the shade 'Sunrise' which is beyond gorgeous and two NYX lipsticks I liked very much when we went to Beautik. They are 'Lala' and 'Medusa' and are both super pretty.

Fuimos hace unos días a recoger mi regalo (cuando vinieron a traerlo no estábamos en casa), y hoy he hecho fotitos de todo, que ahora os enseño.

A few days ago we went out to pick out my present -we weren't at home when they first came to deliver it- and today I snapped some pics of everything, as you can see below.


De los labiales de NYX siempre se dice que son muy cremosos, pero no todos por igual.
Por mi experiencia, os puedo decir que los colores claros son más cremosos que los oscuros (al menos los que yo tengo).

About NYX round lipsticks, it's always said that they're very creamy, but not all of them in the same way. From my own experience, I can tell you that light shades are more creamy than the dark ones (at least, those that I have).

Os voy a enseñar cómo quedan. Now I'm showing you how they look.

Nuestros productos de Deliplus / Our Deliplus products - Labios / Lips (II)

Hoy nos gustaría enseñaros más productos de la marca Deliplus, que podemos encontrar únicamente en los supermercados españoles Mercadona. En *esta* otra entrada, os mostramos nuestros lápices de labios en formato jumbo de Deliplus, así que hoy le toca el turno a los pintalabios de toda la vida.

Today we'd like to share with you more Deliplus products, a brand available only at the Spanish supermarkets Mercadona. In Part one *here*, we showed you our Deliplus jumbo lip pencils so now it's time to talk about the good old lipstick.

Los labiales de Deliplus son, a excepción de la gama Mate de este verano de 2011, de acabado brillante y de una cobertura variable. Encontramos tonos que aportan más brillo que color y otros de una gran pigmentación. Tienen un precio de 4,50€ lo que quizá les sitúa un poco en el límite de la gama low-cost.
Tienen una duración normal (en el caso de marox) y de larga duración en el caso de Marian, cuyos labios soportan muchas horas, después incluso de comer y beber.
Son cremosos, aunque no tanto como los labiales de Nyx.

Deliplus lipsticks have, excluding the Matte LE for the 2011 summer, a glossy finish and coverage varies from one shade to the next. Some shades will give your lips shine rather than colour, whereas others are highly pigmented. They're 4.50 EUR each, so that leaves them imo on the verge of the low-cost spectrum. These have an average lasting time on marox, but are long-lasting for Marian, whose lips will endure many hours of wear and even drinking or eating.
They're creamy, but not as creamy as the NYX, for instance.

El año pasado retiraron bastantes tonos, por lo que es probable que quizá ya no sea posible encontrar alguno de ellos. * Podría ser incluso que los nuevos lleven esa misma numeración pero no coincida el color. Los nuestros, los compramos antes del cambio de proveedor.
Deliplus discontinued many shades last year, so you may not be able to find some of them anymore. * The new ones may even have the same number but be a different colour altogether. We got ours -except the last one- before they changed manufacturers.

Estos son los tonos que tenemos y cómo quedan en nuestros morritos:

-Deliplus nº 23: Se trata de un tono tierra, de pigmentación media pero modulable.

-Deliplus no. 23: An earthy shade, pigmentation is average but buildable.

-Deliplus nº 07: Malva. Aporta más brillo que color.
-Deliplus no. 07: Mauve. Will give you shine rather than colour.

-Deliplus nº. 28: Buena cobertura y modulable. Un rojo muy favorecedor, aunque no apto para tímidas. Muy flamencón, jeje. De hecho, lo suelo usar para actuaciones.

-Deliplus no. 28: Great coverage and buildable. A very flattering red, though not suitable for shy ladies. Very 'flamenco', lol. In fact, it's the one I wear for our amateur performances.

Deliplus nº06: Buena cobertura y modulable. Tono frambuesa con reflejos morados y azules.
Deliplus no. 06: Good coverage and buildable. A beautiful raspberry shade with purple and blue microshimmer.

¡Pero qué morros más bonitos tiene Marian! Marian has gorgeous lips, doesn't she?



Deliplus Mate nº2: rosa, rosa. Al natural se ve más oscuro y vibrante que en la foto. Hay que tener cuidado de tener los labios bien hidratados, porque al ser mate, se notarán los pellejitos.
Deliplus Matt no. 2: pink, pink. It's a darker and more vibrant shade IRL than in the pic. Make sure you moisturize your lips properly, because as it has a matt finish, any imperfections or dead cells will stand out.

Nuestros productos de NYX (II) - Our NYX stuff (II)

Aquí estoy de nuevo, en esta ocasión para continuar con la entrega que empezó mi hermana sobre nuestros productos de NYX.
Ella empezó hablando de sus labiales redondos, así que hoy voy a hacer lo propio con los míos.

Here I am again, this time to continue the post my sister started about our NYX stuff. She began talking about her round lipsticks, so I'm doing the same with mine.

Fueron un regalo de marox. Hizo un pedido de 6 labiales, y luego, los repartimos como buenas hermanas. Me quedé con estos 3 que vais a ver.

They were a gift from marox. She ordered 6 lipsticks, and then, we shared them out as good sisters do. I kept the 3 ones you are about to see.






Creo que los nombres se ven bien en la foto, pero por si acaso, son: Tea Rose, B52 y Egg Plant.
Los dos primeros son más cremosos que el último, pero todos de muy buena aplicación.
Son tan cremosos que con el B52 tuve un pequeño "accidente potinguil". Cuando me hice un "chuache" en la mano para ver el color, la "bala" se rompió por la base. Desde entonces, lo saco muy poquito y lo aplico con pincel.

I think you can see the names in the picture, but if not, they are: Tea Rose, B52 and Egg Plant. The first two are more creamy than the last one, but all of them have very good application.
They are so creamy that when I made a swatch with the 'B52', I had a small 'make-up accident': the 'bullet' broke from its base. Since then, I take it out just a little bit and I apply it with a lip brush.


De estos 3 labiales, aparte del B52, alias "el accidentado", merece una mención especial el Egg Plant. Me gustan los colores "potentes", pero es que con éste nos pasamos 3 pueblos. En la foto parece más "ponible", pero es más oscuro (superoscuro). Lo utilizaré o bien con la prebase de labios, para aclarar el tono, o bien lo dejaré para disfrazarme de gótica en carnaval.

From this 3 lipsticks, apart from 'B52', aka 'the injured', Egg Plant deserves a special mention.
I like bold colours, but we really went overboard when we chose this one. It seems more wearable in the picture, but it's darker (superdark). I'll use it either with a lip base, to tone it down, or I'll just use it in carnival to dress up like a goth girl.

En la entrada de hoy, os presento algunos de los productos de la marca NYX que tenemos. Los compramos en Internet, en concreto éstos fueron al vendedor Joy's. Vinieron muy bien protegidos en plástico de burbujas y llegaron muy rápido. Pedí 6 tonos e intenté pedir un poco de todo. Mi hermana se quedó los tres restantes y supongo que pronto os los enseñará.
En España, se puede comprar en pocas tiendas físicas, principalmente Beautik.

In today's post I'd like to share with you some of the NYX stuff that we have. We got this online, from the seller Joy's on Ebay. Items came very well protected in bubble wrap and shipping was fast. I ordered 6 different colours, trying to have a little bit of everything. My sister kept the remaining 3, so I suppose she'll share hers with you soon too.
In Spain these are available in very few brick and mortar stores, Beautik mainly.

Los labiales redondos de Nyx son muy cremosos, si bien de los tres que tengo, los más cremosos son Fig y Thalia. El Pandora lo noto bastante más seco en comparación. No sé si el que sea más oscuro que los otros tenga algo que ver. Mi favorito es el Thalia, es un todoterreno. Si no tenéis claro qué tonos pedir, yo diría que este tono es una apuesta segura.

Nyx round lipsticks are very creamy, though of all three the most creamy are Fig and Thalia. Pandora is a lot drier in comparison, I don't know if it has anything to do with being the darkest of the three. My favourite is Thalia, it's an all-rounder. If you're at a loss about which shades to order, Thalia is a pretty safe bet imo.

Os dejo con unas fotos de cómo queda cada uno en los labios. Por cierto, que no véais qué show para hacerlas, porque mi hermana me tuvo que estar buscando 'el lado bueno' como a las famosas, ya que sino parecía que tenía los labios torcidos. Creo que a partir de ahora, los chuaches de labios será mejor que los haga ella, que tiene unos labios mucho más bonitos y fotogénicos que los míos.

By the way, the photoshoot was a bit of a pita, because my sister had be looking for my 'good side' as if I were a star or something, because my lips appeared to be twisted or something depending on the side. From now on, she'd better swatch lippies herself, especially since her lips are a lot more pretty and photogenic than mine.

Advertencia: Al ser tan blanditos es fácil que la 'bala' se pueda doblar o incluso romper. Tanto mi Thalia como uno de los de mi hermana, hay que usarlos con mucho cuidado. Mi hermana usa el suyo con pincel. Yo evitaría pedirlos en verano, porque francamente, con el calor no sería una buena idea que estuvieran de acá para allá.

Warning: Being so soft and creamy, it's easy for the 'bullet' to bend or even break. Both my Thalia and one of my sister's lippies have to be used very carefully. My sister applies hers with a lip brush. I'd avoid ordering these in the summer, because honestly, I don't think the heat would help during shipping.

*Todas las fotos están hechas con la Réflex de mi hermana, la Nikon D3000, salvo la última que se hizo con mi Samsung ES10. En la última, ajustamos ligeramente los tonos para que reflejaran mejor el color.*

Leo en vuestros comentarios, que os ha gustado el pintalabios de P2 que os enseñaba en la foto de las compras que hice en Berlín de la marca del DM, P2.

El tono que compré es el tono 020 Sunset Boulevard. Personalmente a mí no me llaman nada los tonos nude, pero me pareció que este al ser en tonos rosas sí que podía resultar favorecedor. Y efectivamente así es.



I read in your comments that you liked the P2 lipstick that appeared in the picture of my P2 purchases in Berlin at DM. The shade I got was 020 Sunset Boulevard. I'm not a fan of nude lipsticks at all, but I thought this one being pink could look well on me and I'm glad to say I wasn't wrong.

Las barras de labios de P2 tienen un precio estupendo, tan sólo 1,95 €, lo que las sitúa en la misma gama de precios de NYX, aproximadamente.
Y no sólo son comparables con los labiales redondos de NYX por su precio, también por su calidad. Sinceramente, me han encantado: su textura cremosa hace que se deslicen con facilidad por nuestros labios. En NYX tengo la impresión de que algunos tonos son más cremosos que otros, ignoro si pasará lo mismo con los de P2. Los de P2 me han parecido muy cremosos, pero tampoco mantecosos.



P2 lipsticks are excellent value for money and at € 1.95 they're in the same price range as NYX. These lipsticks are also comparable to the NYX round lipsticks in terms of quality. Honestly, these have been a really nice surprise: their creamy texture makes them glide smoothly over your lips. With NYX, I get the impression that some colours are creamier than others. I don't know if the same applies to P2. These are creamy, not feeling buttery or uncomfortable at all.
