Productos terminados (XVII) - 'Finito' products (XVII).

Hola, chicas:
Aquí venimos de nuevo para enseñaros los productos que hemos terminado últimamente.

1- Bálsamo labial de Essence, en el tono "Frostbite", de la edición limitada "Go Snow" (Marian).
Lo he estado usando para hidratarme los labios cuando voy sin maquillar, y aunque tiene un poquito de color, también lo he usado antes de irme a dormir. Así no me levanto con los labios llenos de pellejitos.
En invierno quizá se queda un poquito corto y necesito algo más hidratante, pero con el buen tiempo tengo suficiente.
Como es una edición limitada, no puedo repetir con él, y es una pena, porque la verdad es que he quedado muy satisfecha con este producto.

2- Perfume nº5 de "La botica de los perfumes" (Marian).
Huele como la de "Aire" de Loewe, que me encanta, y aunque de momento tengo otra que acabo de empezar y que compré en esta misma tienda, no descarto repetir con ésta, porque me ha gustado mucho.
¿Lo mejor? Su precio, 10,90€ los 100 ml, y que las fragrancias están muy conseguidas (no todas, pero sí las que he comprado) y su olor perdura.

3- Gel anticelulítico de Lixoné (Marian).
A ver, ya sé que los milagros andan escasos últimamente, así que no tenía grandes esperanzas con este producto (ni con este, ni con ninguno de este tipo que pruebe).
Pero después de usarlo, sí que he notado la piel más firme, y que la tan odiada piel de naranja no es tan visible.
En cuanto a si repetiré con él o no, de momento no tengo pensado repetir, aunque no lo descarto totalmente, ya que no es un producto caro, que además venía en un pack de dos.

4- Quitaesmalte con acetona "Cien", de Lidl (Marian).

We're here today ready to show you the products we've used up lately.

1- Essence lipbalm in the shade 'Frostbite' from the 'Go Snow' limited edition (Marian).
I've been using this when I don't bother putting any makeup on and also before going to bed. It helps to prevent getting up with chapped lips.
In the winter it may fall a bit short in terms of moisturising my lips, but it does the job in the warmer months.
Since this was a LE item, I cannot repurchase again, which is a pity, because I was pleased enough with the product.

2 - Imitation perfume #5 from 'La Botica de los Perfumes' (Marian).
It smells just like 'Aire' from Loewe, which I love and even though I have just opened a new bottle of a different fragrance I bought at the same shop, I don't rule out repurchasing because I certainly liked this one.
Best of all? The budget-friendly price, since a 100ml bottle of fragrance will run you €10.90 and the copies are very similar to the originals (not all of them, but at least the ones I've bought were) and the scent lingers on your skin for a good while.



3 - Anti-cellulite body gel from Lixoné (Marian): Not that I believe in miracles or anything - specially not lately, lol - so I didn't have high expectations regarding this product (or any of this sort that I try).
My skin did appear firmer and the 'orange-peel' effect is less evident.
I have not made up my mind on whether I would repurchase or not, but it wasn't an expensive product, which also had a BOGO offer.

4- Acetone-based nail polish remover from Lidl (Marian): Besides the good results, what I liked best about this product was the very convenient pump bottle. All you have to do is put a cotton pad on the pump and press down until you obtain the desired amount of remover.
Another pro is that the bottle is refillable, so I will reuse it and fill it with another remover I'd bought as back-up.

5 - 'Equinol' Dark-spots cream from GoodSkinLabs (Marian):
I might have placed too high expectations on this product, considering how hard it is to get rid of dark spots (hyperpigmentation).



What I did notice after using this cream is that my spots have somewhat faded, though by no means I can say they have vanished.
Check out the pictures below showing the 'before' and 'after', so you can assess how good the results obtained are.

Lo que más me ha gustado de este producto, aparte de que me ha dado un buen resultado, es su presentación, en un práctico envase. Sólo hay que poner el disco de algodón encima de la boquilla y presionar varias veces para conseguir la cantidad de producto deseada.
Como el envase se puede rellenar, lo voy a reutilizar con otro quitaesmalte que había comprado para cuando se me terminara éste.

5- Crema antimanchas "Equinol" de GoodSkin Labs (Marian).
Puede que me haya hecho demasiadas ilusiones con este producto, y es que las manchas del sol son muy difíciles de eliminar.
Lo que sí he notado tras el uso continuado de esta crema es que la mancha parece un poco más difuminada, aunque por supuesto no ha desaparecido.
A continuación os enseño fotos del "antes" y el "después", para que lo veáis por vosotras mismas.

UDLS/NOTW: ANNY 'Secret of love'.

Aqui os traigo uno de los últimos esmaltes que *compré*. Como sabréis, es una marca de venta exclusiva en perfumerías Douglas.
Ultimamente me estoy portando muy bien: al ordenar el cajón del maquillaje he sido consciente de lo mucho que ha aumentado mi colección en unos años y me he propuesto intentar gastar alguno. ¿Lo malo? Que no tengo tiempo casi ni de pintarme.

Día 1: Por la tarde, aplico una capa de la base de P2, seguida de una generosa de este esmalte del Douglas. Remato con una capa del BTGN de Essence.

Here I am to show you one of the latest polishes that I *bought*. As you may already know, this brand is sold exclusively at Douglas perfumeries.
I'm being a good girl lately, after realising how much my makeup collection has grown in the last few years. The pros of sorting my makeup drawer at my parents'. The con? I'm so busy these days I barely have time to dab some makeup on.


 

Day 1: In the evening, I apply a coat of my P2 base, followed by a somewhat generous one of this polish from Douglas perfumeries. I finished it off with a coat of the Essence BTGN top sealer.

Day 4: I took it off in the morning. Wear was pretty good, considering we've been doing some cleaning at home this week.

Have you tried any ANNY polishes? We always found their prices a little bit off-putting (they're usually around 10 EUR), but this time they had a big discount and were only 4.99 EUR.. 

Dia 4: Me lo quito por la mañana. Ha aguantado muy bien, para haber estado de limpieza.

¿Habéis probado algún esmalte de ANNY? A nosotras nos echaba un poco para atrás el precio (unos 10€), pero los que compramos estaban rebajados a 4,99€.

UDLS/NOTW: ANNY 'Summer dream'.

Seguro que os estaréis preguntando por qué para una manicura hacemos una entrada común, puesto que normalmente las hacemos sólo para mostraros nuestras compras o los productos que hemos terminado.

Pues bien, la razón es que esta semana hemos coincidido las dos en hacernos la manicura con el mismo esmalte. No nos hemos puesto de acuerdo. Lo juramos.



Pensamos que un esmalte en este color rosa claro era muy adecuado para la primavera. Lo vistéis en *esta* entrada de compras.

Vamos a enseñaros a continuación al trío protagonista de esta manicura.

Como veis, el top coat que hemos usado ha sido el de Seche Vite, pues a Marian todavía no se le ha terminado.

Este esmalte de ANNY es muy cubriente, y una capa generosa ha sido suficiente para dejar un color homogéneo en toda la uña.

En cuanto a la duración del esmalte, Marian está contentísima (gran compra), porque le ha durado 6 días. Nos costó rebajado 4,99€.
A Marox le duró un poquito menos, pero también le da buena nota.

You'll surely be wondering why we're writing this as a joint post, as we usually do this only when we show you our hauls or the items we've used up.

OK, the reason is that this week we've used the same polish for our manis. There has been no agreement. We swear.

We thought this polish in a pale pink shade was really appropriate for the spring. You saw it as part of *this* haul post.

Now here come the three main characters.



As you can see, we've used Seche Vite as top coat, because Marian has not used hers up yet.

This polish from ANNY has an excellent coverage, so much that one generous coat was enough to provide an even finish on the nails.



And as far as lasting time is concerned, Marian is very pleased with this polish (great purchase!), because she could keep her mani on for 6 days in good conditions. It was discounted at €4.99.
Marox's mani lasted less, but the polish gets good grades from her all the same.

Compras varias acumuladas - Sundry haul.

Hola, chicas:
Aquí venimos de nuevo con otra entrega de nuestras últimas compras de cosmética (bueno, a día de hoy, ya no son las últimas) en Carrefour, Douglas y Sephora.
Creo que es la vez que más productos de cosmética hemos comprado en un solo día.

Empezamos con las de Carrefour.
Hace poco tiempo han renovado la línea de productos de cosmética de su marca propia, y decidimos traernos a casa un spray corporal con olor a té verde. Sabéis que este tipo de productos nos encantan, así que de una marca o de otra, siempre tenemos alguno.
También habían traído un montón de productos de la marca Lixoné. Hasta ahora, sólo conocíamos el jabón de azufre para pieles grasas, que últimamente Marox me traía de "contrabando", pues por aquí no lo encontraba... hasta ahora.
Pero como había tantos tipos de jabones a elegir y el de azufre ya lo conocía, me decidí por los de sales del mar Muerto y arcilla.
Además, tenían una promoción 2x1 en el gel anticelulítico, que también nos trajimos a casa.

Sin salir del Centro Comercial, nos pasamos por Douglas. Allí compré esta crema concentrada anti-manchas, de la marca GoodSkin Labs. Y es que tengo una mancha bastante grande en la cara, que normalmente disimulo con el corrector y el maquillaje, pero si puedo hacerla menos visible, pues mucho mejor.
Llevo ya algunas semanas utilizándola y parece que la mancha está más difuminada (no sé si serán imaginaciones mías).

Justo al lado de la caja, tenían estos pulidores de uñas de 4 pasos, así que nos trajimos uno para cada una. Todavía no los hemos probado. Ya os contaremos.

Y para finalizar las compras de este día, nos fuimos a Sephora. Como se me había terminado la exfoliante facial de Dr. Brandt que tanto me ha gustado, no quería quedarme sin repuesto, así que decidí comprar otra.
Menos mal que tenía un sms de descuento, porque la crema cuesta... ¡80 pavos!
La verdad es que me gusta mucho, pero si puedo encontrar una alternativa más barata, lo prefiero.

Y siguiendo con la exfoliación facial, me compré este disco exfoliante. Ví uno parecido (de una marca japonesa, creo) en el blog de Julia Phoenix, y cuanto vi éste, me pareció una buena oportunidad para probar uno de estos productos. Hasta ahora conocía los cepillitos exfoliantes, pero se tiende a acumular suciedad entre las cerdas; sin embargo estos discos me parecen más higiénicos. Ya os contaré qué tal va, porque no lo he probado todavía. En Internet tenéis alternativas más baratas.

Bueno, esto es todo por el momento.

Here we are again with another post about our latest cosmetic haul (well, now it's not the latest one anymore) at Carrefour, Douglas and Sephora.
I think this is the time we've purchased the largest amount of cosmetic products in one day.

Let's start with our purchases at Carrefour.
They renewed their own cosmetic products range not so long ago.
We brought with us a green tea scented body spray from their own brand. You know that we love this kind of items, so we always have one of these, no matter the brand.
They also had lots of products from Lixoné. By now, we only tried the sulphur soap for oily skin, which Marox used to 'smuggle' for me, because I didn't find them here... until now.
But since there were so many kinds of soap bars to try and I had already tried the sulphur one, I chose the Dead Sea Salts and Clay ones.
Besides, they had a 2x1 offer on the anticellulite gel, which we also brought with us.



Without leaving the Shopping Centre, we went to Douglas. There I bought this Dark Spot Concentrate, from GoodSkin Labs. I have quite a big dark spot on my face, which I use to cover with make-up and concealer, but if I can make it less visible this way, so much the better.
I've been using it for several weeks now and it seems the dark spot is more 'faded' (I don't know if it's just my imagination).



Just next to the cash desk, they had these 4- step nail polishers, so we bought one for each. We haven't tried them yet. We'll tell you about them soon.

And to end the shopping session of the day, we went to Sephora. As my Dr. Brandt exfoliating face cream had ended up, I didn't want to find myself without it, so I bought another one as back-up.
It's just as well that I had received an sms with an offer from Sephora, as the face cream is... €80!
I truly like it much, but I really wish I could find a cheaper one.



And on the subject of facial exfoliation, I bought this exfoliating disc. I saw a similar one (from a Japanese brand, I think) on Julia Phoenix blog, so when I saw this one, I thought it was a good opportunity to try one of those.
I already knew about exfoliating brushes, but dirt often collects around the bristles; however, these discs seem more hygienic.
When I try it, I'll tell you how it works.

Hoy os traemos una nueva mini-reseña de los productos que hemos acabado últimamente.

How's it going?

Here we are, today with a new mini-review of all the products we've used up lately.

1- Bálsamo labial Nutrabalm, de Isdin (Marian): Para mí este tipo de productos son imprescindibles, y no sólo en invierno. Tengo mucha tendencia a que se me resequen los labios y me salgan pellejitos, que luego me muerdo (sí, tengo esa mala costumbre).
Lo uso por las noches y por la mañana no hay ni rastro de pellejitos, así que genial. Ahora mismo estoy utilizando otro de la misma marca, pero en formato tubo (venía en el mismo pack cuando lo compré). De venta en farmacias.

1- Nutrabalm Lip balm, from Isdin (Marian): This kind of products are a must-have for me, and not only in winter. My lips tend to be dry and with dead skin I use to bite (yes, I have that bad habit).

I use it at night and the following morning there are no dead skin cells, which is great. Now I'm using another one from the same brand, but with a different packaging (in a tube). It was in the same pack when I bought it. Available at any pharmacy/chemist's.

2- Crema antimanchas de Bella Aurora (Marian): Tengo bastantes manchas en el lado izquierdo de la cara. Con el maquillaje se disimulan bastante bien, pero me apetecía si no eliminarlas, al menos difuminarlas un poco. Por eso me decidí a probar esta crema, pues había leído (y oído) reseñas muy favorables sobre ella. La he estado usando bastante tiempo, pero no he podido terminarla, así que este es otro producto que doy por terminado. ¿La razón? Era bastante difícil de extender, por su textura tan compacta como grasienta. Sentía la piel como asfixiada, y a la mañana siguiente, mi cara (no sólo mi frente) resplandecía cual bombilla. Para mí ha sido espantihorrenda (como diría marox). Quizá mi error fue elegir este producto en concreto, y no otro más adecuado a mi tipo de piel, así que puede que en el futuro le dé a esta marca una segunda oportunidad.

2- Anti dark spots cream from Bella Aurora (Marian): I have quite a lot of dark spots and blemishes on the left side of my face. I can hide them quite well with make-up, but I'd like to get them to 'blur' a little bit (although I'd prefer to erase them). That's why I decided to try this cream, because of the favorable reviews I read (and heard) about it. I've been using it for quite a long time, but I couldn't use it up, so this is another product I've decided to terminate. The reason? It was quite hard to apply, due to its so-greasy-as-compact texture. My skin felt clogged, and when I got up in the morning, my whole face (not only my forehead) was shining like a bulb. It's crappyawful (as marox says). Maybe I made the mistake of chosing this item in particular, instead of a different one, more suited to my skin type, so perhaps I will give this brand a second opportunity in the future.

3- Maquinilla desechable Venus de Gillette: Desde hace bastantes años, dejamos relegada la depilación con cera y nos pasamos a la maquinilla. Las de Gillette son quizá las más conocidas y la verdad es que van muy bien y duran mucho. Son caras y tenemos entendido que hay chicas que prefieren ahorrarse unos eurillos y usan las de hombre. No sé yo si merecerá la pena, porque las buenas de hombre tampoco son tan baratas.

3- Disposable Venus Gillette Razor: Many years ago we switched wax for razors. The ones from Gillette are perhaps the most famous and the truth is they work really really well and will last you a long time. They're a bit pricey though and for that reason we know some ladies prefer saving a few euros and use men's razor. I don't know if they're worth trying, as good quality razors for men are not cheap either.

4 - Jabón negro (o Beldi): Fue un regalo de marox a Marian el año pasado, animada por las buenas opiniones que tenía este producto. No somos capaces de esperar 10-15 minutos con él puesto en la ducha antes de usar el guante exfoliante, que compramos en la misma página. Nos da la sensación de que buena parte de la eliminación de células muertas, se debe al guante. No está mal, es un producto que merece la pena probar, pero no nos ha enamorado. Comprado *aquí* (pago mediante ingreso en cuenta de La Caixa).

4 - Beldi Black soap: It was a present for Marian that marox got for her birthday last year, prompted by the positive reviews we read. We can never wait the required 10-15 mins in the shower before removing it with the exfoliating mitt, also purchased from the same site. We think a great deal of the dead cells are removed by the mitt. Not a bad product, it is definitely worth trying, but we were not crazy in love with it, you see. Purchased *here* (Spanish seller, you may want to find a better deal depending on where you live).

5- Manteca corporal de mango de Douglas: Es la primera que probamos de la marca 'I Love' y no nos ha defraudado en absoluto. Se aplica y se absorbe bien, notamos la piel hidratada y deja un agradable aroma en la piel, así que no descartamos repetir, a poder ser si también pillamos un descuentito, como con ésta.

5- Mango Body butter from Douglas: This is the first one we've tried from their 'I love' brand and we haven't been disappointed at all. It's well absorbed by the skin, the application is great, we really feel that it moisturizes our skin and it leaves a nice scent, so we don't rule out repurchasing, even more so if we can get a little discount like we did with this one.

UDLS / NOTW: Día de la madre / Mother's Day

En España, celebramos el día de la madre -a diferencia de otros países- el primer domingo de mayo, que este año es el día 6. En la última manicura/estampación que subí, con el esmalte Multidimension de Essence como base y el Poison Me, Poison You de Catrice para estampar, os comenté que a mi madre le había gustado tanto que me pidió que le hiciera algo parecido a ella también.
Me ha parecido que no había un día más apropiado para enseñaros aquella manicura que el día de la madre.






In Spain, Mother's Day -unlike other countries- is celebrated the first Sunday of May, which is May 6th this year. In the last mani / stamping I shared with you, using an Essence Multidimension lacquer as a base colour and Poison Me, Poison You from Catrice for stamping, I let slip my mum had liked it so much she had asked me to create something similar for her.
I thought there was no better day to share that mani than Mother's Day.






En el caso de mi madre, la combinación que usé fue dos capas del esmalte 'Sara' de Douglas y, si mal no recuerdo, también el Poison Me, Poison You de Catrice para estampar. Como tiene 0 paciencia para esperar quietecita a que se le seque el esmalte, apliqué una capa finita de SV antes de estampar y otra finita también después de estampar. Quedó muy contenta y le duró un montón, sospecho que por llevar las uñas más cortas. Lo digo porque evidentemente cocinó, limpió y pintó en ese tiempo. No acostumbra a pintarse las uñas, pero el óleo no se le resiste.

As for my mother's mani, the combo I used was two coats of Douglas lacquer in the shade 'Sara' and if I'm not mistaken, again Poison Me, Poison You from Catrice for stamping. Given her patience waiting for a nail polish to dry doing nothing is close to nil, I applied a very thin coat of SV before stamping and another thin coat right after that. She was very happy with the end result and the wear too. I guess her shorter nails explain the latter. I.e. she cooked, cleaned up and painted in the meantime. She doesn't usually paint her nails, but the 'oil on canvas' thing is definitely within her comfort zone.

UDLS / NOTW: Douglas Absolute Nails 'Fireworks 15'

Hoy me gustaría enseñaros uno de los múltiples clones que afortunadamente existen ya del famoso Péridot de Chanel. Os lo enseñé hace un par de meses *aquí*.

Today I'd like to share with you one of the many dupes available now of the much-hyped Péridot from Chanel. I showed this a few months ago *here*.

Día 1: Por la noche, aplico una capa de la base rellenadora de Essence que nos mandó María. Aplico una capa de este esmalte y una de Seche Vite. Cubre muy bien y la fórmula tiene la consistencia justa y la cobertura es excelente. Aunque es algo más caro que los de Essence o Catrice, Douglas a veces tiene promociones tanto si se tiene la tarjeta de fidelidad como si no, así que siempre podéis aprovechar alguna para daros un caprichito.

Day 1: At night, I apply a coat of the ridge-filling base from Essence that we got from María. I apply one coat of this polish and topped it with another one of SV. Coverage is excellent and the formula is perfect too. Though pricewise it is not as cheap as Essence or Catrice, Douglas does sometimes have sales and discounts no matter if you have their club card or not, so you can always take those chances to treat yourself to a little something.

Día 2: Sin haber hecho nada especial, por la mañana me empezó a pelar el esmalte en la uña del dedo anular derecho, así que ahora tengo un enorme desconchón que luego tengo que retocar, ya que cubre la mitad de la punta de la uña. De duración, ciertamente mejorable, aunque no sé si haya tenido algo que ver la base utilizada. Un poco más tarde, tengo que retocar la uña del dedo medio de la mano derecha. A la noche, se me ha despegado casi por completo el esmalte en el pulgar derecho, casi como si fuera una pegatina.

Day 2: Despite not having done anything special with my hands, in the morning the polish on my right ring finger started to peel off and it leaves me with a huge chip I have to touch up, as it covers half of the nail. Wearwise, I'm indeed disappointed, though perhaps the base used had something to do with it, dunno. A while later, I have to touch up my right middle fingernail. At night the polish on my right thumb peeled off almost completely, like a sticker.

Día 3: Por la mañana, despinto con cuidado la uña del pulgar y la vuelvo a pintar, para poder estirar la manicura un poco más. Uso la base de P2 en esta ocasión.

Day 3: In the morning, I carefully took off the remaining polish on my thumb and paint it again so I can stretch this mani a tad longer. I used my P2 base this time.

Compras varias acumuladas / Sundry haul

Hoy os traemos una recopilación de las compras que hemos hecho últimamente. Como véis, hay de todo: compras en Mercadona, en Douglas, de Essence, etc. Podéis leer un breve comentario sobre cada uno de ellos después de la foto, en el sentido de las agujas del reloj.

Today we have a cumulated sundry haul with our latest purchases. As you can see below, there's a little bit of everything: some stuff from the Spanish supermarkets *Mercadona*, from Douglas, a couple of Essence goodies, etc. You can read a short comment about each of them after the pic, clockwise.




1- Esmaltes de Claire's en los tonos "Airforce Blue" -2,95 €- (arriba) y "Pink Holographic" -3,50 €- (abajo). Sí, ya sé que siempre decimos que en los esmaltes de Claire's no hay forma de saber qué tono es, porque todos tienen un número en lugar de un nombre, pero echad un vistazo al ticket de compra. ¡Tachán!

1- Nail polishes from Claire's in the shades 'Airforce Blue' -€ 2.95- (above) and 'Pink Holographic' - €3.50 -(below). Yes, I know that we always say that it's impossible to know about the name of these polishes, because all of them have a number instead of a name, but have a look at the ticket. Ta-dah!




2- Mascarilla de pepino de "Montagne Jeunesse", también de Claire's (y ahora Mercadona). No hemos probado ninguna de esta marca todavía, a pesar de haber leído buenas críticas en varios blogs. Precio: 1,95 € (pero al tener una oferta de 3x2, nos salió gratis).

2- Cucumber peel-off mask from 'Montagne Jeunesse', also available from Claire's (and now also Mercadona). We haven't tried anything from this brand yet, in spite of having read favorable reviews on several blogs. Price: 1.95 EUR (but they had a B2G3 and therefore got it for free).

3- Esmalte de uñas de CHICOGO (que por lo visto, es del grupo Rimmel) en el tono "Zeigeist". Los compramos en el mercadillo por... ¡1€ cada uno! Es un tono muy especial, así que no podíamos dejarlo en el puesto, y menos por ese precio.

Por cierto, que a Marian se le ha ocurrido un nuevo parecido razonable, así que permaneced atentas.

3- Nail polish from CHICOGO (which belongs to Rimmel, apparently) in the shade 'Zeigeist'. We bought them at a street market for... €1 each! It's a very special shade, so we couldn't leave them there, especially not for that price!.

Btw, Marian has come with a new idea for a 'Reasonable Lookalikes' comparison post, so stay tuned.

4- Mousse fijadora para cabello rizado de Deliplus: Marox había leído buenas opiniones de esta mousse del Mercadona para el pelo rizado, así que se vino con ella en la última visita a nuestro supermercado más cercano. Aunque le encanta la espuma de esta línea (la del bote totalmente naranja), por lo visto este producto reseca menos el pelo. Estamos deseando probarla. Precio: 2,50 €.

4- Styling Mousse for Curly Hair from Deliplus: I read some good opinions about this mousse so I grabbed it on my last visit to our nearest Mercadona supermarket. Although she loves the Deliplus styling foam (the one with the fully orange bottle), this mousse is apparently less drying. We're very eager to try it. Price: 2.50 EUR.

5- Toallitas limpiadoras de bebé de Deliplus: Muchas veces no utilizamos toallitas desmaquillantes para eliminar la mayor parte del maquillaje, sino toallitas de bebé. Nos gusta que el cierre sea rígido para evitar que se sequen. Las de Deliplus por lo general están bastante bien, aunque éstas en concreto no las hemos probado. Precio: 1,70 €.

5- Baby wipes from Deliplus: Most times we don't use makeup remover wipes but baby wipes to get rid of the bulk of our make-up at the end of the day. We like the fact that they have a hard plastic closure to prevent the wipes from drying out. The ones from Deliplus are generally quite good, though we haven't tried these ones in particular yet. Price: 1.70 EUR.

6- Limpiador facial Essence MySkin: Lo probamos gracias a María, que por cierto se ha lesionado la mano pero confiamos en que pronto esté recuperada, y como nos ha gustado para completar nuestra rutina de limpieza, pues hemos comprado para repetir. Estuvimos tentadas de probar el limpiador 4en1, quizá la próxima vez.

6- Essence MySkin Soft Cleansing Gel: We tried this thanks to María, who btw injured her left hand but hopefully will soon make a full recovery, and liked it enough to complete our daily cleansing routine that we purchased it to keep on using it. We were very tempted by the 4in1 Cleansing Cream, so who knows, maybe we'll get it next time.

7- Kit de estampación de Essence: Aprovechando que tras varios años poniéndonos los dientes largos con la promesa de traer el mueble de tratamiento en Bustillo por fin lo tienen, marox se compró el último kit. Es una lástima que no vendan sueltas las placas que han ido incluyendo en los kit (o que saquen otras nuevas, ya puestos).

7- Essence nail art Stamping set: After a couple of year's wait, our local beauty supplies store Bustillo finally decided to bring the second Essence display, the treatment/nail art one and marox could finally get her hands on the latest set. Pity Essence does not sell the plates that come with all their sets throughout the years separately (and pity they don't release new plates either).


8- Manteca corporal de mango y papaya de Douglas: Es la primera vez que compramos una de estas mantecas y aprovechando un descuento que le llegó a Marian de Douglas vía SMS nos decidimos a probarlas. Aunque no están mal de precio, si nos podemos ahorrar unas pelillas, pues mejor que mejor. *Edito: El precio normal es de 5,95€, que con el descuento del 20% se quedó en 4,76€.

8- Mango and Papaya body butter from Douglas: It's the first time we get one of these and took the plunge thanks to a discount code Marian received from Douglas in an SMS. Although the price is not bad, if we can save some cents, so much the better. *Edit: Retail price is usually 5.95 EUR, but as they had a 20% off in the store, we only paid 4.76 EUR.

Manicura San Valentín para Teufeu - St. Valentine's mani for Teufeu's giveaway

¿O debo decir manicuras? Porque digamos que en este caso, a la segunda fue la vencida. Y es que mi primer intento a toda prisa no quedó nada bien y decidí repetirlo una semana después.

Or should I say manis? Because my first hurried attempt was a complete manicure fail and decided to give it another go a week later. Second time lucky, I guess.

Os cuento cómo la he hecho. Después de aplicar el tratamiento de cutículas de Mavala y el Nail Envy, aplico dos capas del 'Sara' de Douglas. Con una cubre bastante bien, pero con una segunda finita cubrimos por completo cualquier imperfección o hueco que haya podido quedar en la primera capa. El color muy a juego con la nieve que me rodea.

Well, this is how I did it: After using the cuticle remover treatment from Mavala and a coat of Nail Envy, I apply two coats of Douglas Absolute Nails in 'Sara 07'. Coverage is quite good, but a second -thin- coat will help cover any imperfections or bald spots from the first. The colour is very fitting, in line with the snow now surrounding me.

Para estampar, uso dos placas distintas de Essence y dos esmaltes de Kiko: el rosa azulado #253 que tan bien me funcionó en otra ocasión y el #242 de Marian. Hago la estampación en tres uñas. En cuanto a placas, una de las que compré en Amsterdam y la que vino con uno de los últimos kits de Essence. Después aplico una capita del 'Gimme Some Glitter' de Icing que nos mandó Iris y encima, Seche Vite.

For stamping, I used two different Essence plates and two Kiko polishes: the blueish pink in #253 that I liked so much for stamping *here* and Kiko #242 that I borrowed from Marian. I stamped three nails. Platewise, I used one of the image plates from our Amsterdam haul and the one that came with the Essence stamping plate until now. I then applied a thin layer of 'Gimme Some Glitter' from Icing that Iris kindly sent us. Seche Vite on top.

Os recomiendo que estéis pendientes del blog de Teufeu, que imagino que no tardará en mostrar las propuestas que ha recibido y ya os adelanto que hay verdaderas maravillas.

Aquí vengo otra vez con mis uñas de la semana; esta vez con el esmalte de Douglas "Sara 07", en un tono que yo definiría como blanco perlado con reflejos dorados.

I'm here again with my nails of the week; this time with the polish 'Sara 07' from Douglas, in a shade I'd define as a pearly white with golden reflections.




Para esta manicura apliqué una capa de Nail Sealer de Essence, que nos envió María, y encima 2 capas finas de este esmalte, y para terminar, como siempre, Seche Vite.

For this mani I applied a coat of Nail Sealer from Essence, which María sent us, and 2 thin coats of this polish, and Seche Vite on top to finish.

Las fotos que os enseño están hechas al tercer día de esta manicura, que soportó perfectamente un lavado de pelo por la mañana. Por la tarde, se empieza a despegar como una pegatina, así que decido quitármelo.



The pics I'm showing you were taken the third day of this mani, which remained perfect after a hair wash in the morning. In the evening, it started to peel off like a sticker, so I decide to remove it.

El día 23 aprovechando que íbamos al centro comercial a comprar, hicimos una visitilla rápida al Douglas a ver si tenían algo interesante y resultó que sí.

On the 23rd, we paid a quick visit to the local Douglas drugstore/perfumerie, which happens to be inside the mall where we went to for some groceries. Not really knowing if there'd be anything interesting, it turned out they did have some interesting stuff.

Hace poco descubrí un nuevo blog alemán, Candy Glaze, donde mencionaban que las droguerías Douglas habían sacado su propia línea de esmaltes de uñas: Absolute Nails. En otras visitas a Douglas ya había visto que tenían unos miniesmaltes (similares a los de Deliplus de 1€ que os enseñé en su día), así como algún brillo de labios. No tenía demasiadas esperanzas de que los esmaltes de los que hablaban en aquel blog hubieran llegado a España y pensaba que de ser así, tardarían aún unos cuantos meses. Pero como podéis ver en las siguientes fotos, ¡estaba equivocada!.




I recently discovered a German blog, Candy Glaze, and in one of their latest posts they mentioned Douglas drugstores/perfumeries had just released their own line of nail polishes, Absolute Nails. In previous visits to our local Douglas, I noticed they did have some mini polishes (similar to the ones released last summer by Deliplus for just 1 EUR), as well as a few lipglosses. My expectations were not too high when we walked into the store, as I wasn't very hopeful these goodies had made it into Spain yet and thought that would take at least a couple of months. But as you can tell from the following undercover pics, I was wrong!!



La colección de esmaltes (hay testers) de la primera foto, incluye clones de varios esmaltes de Chanel, entre ellos el famoso Paradoxal, Black Pearl, Pearl Drop y Péridot *ver lista*. Traen 11 ml y cuestan 4,95 € cada uno. Como ya habréis deducido por la entrada de este post, no me pude ir con las manos vacías.
Douglas le había mandado a Marian un par de días antes un descuento vía SMS que se olvidó de presentar. ¿Será porque pagaba yo? ;)




The nail polish collection -there are testers- in the first pic includes dupes for several Chanel polishes, among them the famous Paradoxal, Black Pearl, Pearl Drop and Péridot *see list*. They contain 11 ml and cost 4.95 EUR each. As you've probably gathered from the title, I couldn't just leave the store empty-handed.
Marian had received an SMS from Douglas a couple of days earlier with a promotional discount she forgot to show. Was it because I was paying? ;)

Y esto fue lo que me autorregalé, con más detalle. En primer lugar, el esmalte 'Fireworks 15', clon del famosísimo 'Péridot' de Chanel. Puesto que no tengo el de Chanel no os podré ofrecer una comparativa en toda regla ni sé qué porcentaje de parecido tiene con el original, pero sí os puedo decir que mi anhelo por el Péridot se ve perfectamente satisfecho con esta compra.

And this is what I bought myself, in detail. First meet 'Fireworks 15 ' dupe of the überfamous Péridot from Chanel. As I don't have the Chanel one, I'm afraid I won't be able to offer you a proper comparison between the two and ignore how good a dupe (i.e. % of likeness they have) this is, but I am in a position to tell you that my lemming for Péridot is perfectly fulfilled with this purchase.



Por último, el esmalte 'Sara 07', clon del 'Pearl Drop' también de Chanel. Aún no los he estrenado, pero prometo presentároslos debidamente en cuanto me sea posible.

And finally, meet 'Sara 07', dupe for 'Pearl Drop' also from Chanel. I haven't worn any of them yet, but I promise to make the perfunctory introductions as soon as I can.

De compras por Ámsterdam - Amsterdam Shopping Guide: Douglas

Hoy vengo con la ¿última? entrega dedicada a las poticompras de Ámsterdam y en esta ocasión me gustaría hablaros de Douglas. Puesto que en España tenemos perfumerías Douglas y también os hablé de ellas en las entradas de compras de Berlín, ahora simplemente mencionaré aquellas marcas que podemos encontrar en las droguerías Douglas de Holanda.
Nosotras visitamos la tienda de Kalverstraat 71, una de las principales calles comerciales de la ciudad y la perfumería Douglas está al lado de una tienda Rituals, así que no tiene pérdida.
Es una tienda muy amplia, de dos pisos.

I'm back with the last? post in the Amsterdam make-up shopping guide series and today I'll be talking about Douglas perfumeries. As we have Douglas here in Spain and I already talked about them at length as part of the Berlin shopping guide, today I'll only mention those brands specifically found in The Netherlands. We visited the store located in Kalverstraat 71, one of the city's main shopping streets and the Douglas perfumery is next to a Rituals store, so it's hard to miss. It's a big, two-storey store.

Aparte de las marcas que podemos encontrar en Douglas (ArtDeco, Isadora, BeYu), en Amsterdam también tenían la marca Black Opal, de la que ya os hablé y stands de otras que no vimos en ningún otro sitio, como Herôme o Koh, especializadas en productos para la manicura, principalmente esmaltes. El precio de los esmaltes de Herôme rondaba los 7€ y Koh algo más.
En algunos Kruidvats vimos alguna cosa suelta de Herôme, principalmente en las cestas de liquidación, pero no un mueble propiamente dicho.
En Douglas tenían únicamente -aunque era bastante grande- la colección World Inspired Colours o WIC, que podéis ver en la foto.




Apart from the Douglas exclusive brands (such as ArtDeco, Isadora and BeYu), in Amsterdam you will also find the brand Black Opal I mentioned in an earlier post and displays from others we didn't see anywhere else like Herôme or Koh, both specializing in manicure-related products, namely nail polishes. The prize for Herôme polishes was around 7 EUR and Koh were pricier. We did see a couple of Herôme polishes in other stores like Kruidvat, at reduced prices in the discontinued products baskets/fishbowls, not as part of a proper display.
Douglas merely -large as it is- had the World Inspired Colours collection or WIC, pictured here in this post.




A diferencia de Berlin, en Amsterdam no vimos stands de OPI, que sí encontramos por ejemplo en las tiendas del aeropuerto de Schiphol. De precio, creo recordar que unos 14 €.
Unlike in Berlin, this Amsterdam Douglas store does not have an OPI display. The only place we found that was at the stores in Schiphol airport. If I remember right, they were about 14EUR each.

Hoy os traigo la que, en principio, será la última entrega sobre las droguerías alemanas. Ya os adelantaba en la última entrada que hablaría de las perfumerías Douglas.
Esta cadena de perfumerías, presente en varios países europeos entre ellos nuestro país, en Alemania es el equivalente a Sephora. En algunas de sus tiendas, podemos encontrar marcas como M.A.C. o Benefit, no así en las dos que visitamos mi hermana y yo en nuestra estancia.

Al hablar de Douglas utilizo la palabra 'perfumería' ya que allí encontramos principalmente productos de gama media-alta en cosmética y perfumería, no tanto droguería como era el caso de cualquiera de las que hemos mencionado en otras entradas.



I'm back with probably the last installment in our German drugstore series. I mentioned in my last post that the next one would be about Douglas.
This chain of perfumeries, with stores in many European countries, among them Spain, is the German equivalent to Sephora. In some of their stores we may find high-end brands like M.A.C or Benefit, though this was not the case in the ones we visited while in Berlin. When talking about Douglas I'd like to emphasize the use of word 'perfumerie' as it specializes in medium and high end brands and sells cosmetics and perfumes rather than just drugstore products as was the case with the other stores we have mentioned in previous blogposts.

Las que visitamos se encontraban en dos centros comerciales, el Alexa y el Postdamer Platz Arkaden, si bien sólo compramos en la segunda.
Dentro de las marcas de gama media, encontramos marcas alemanas como la muniquesa ArtDeco -con su famosa prebase de sombras, la más barata dentro de su categoría - y Beyu, supuestamente submarca de la anterior.




The stores we visited were part of a Shopping Centre, within the Alexa and the Postdamer Platz Arkaden, though we only purchased something in the second. In the medium-price range, we have some German brands like ArtDeco from Munich -with its bestseller eyeshadow primer, the cheapest one in its category- and Beyu, which is supposedly a second brand of the former.

También disponen de stand de la firma sueca Isadora, con por ejemplo sus famosos e imitadísimos esmaltes de acabado craquelado o "crackling". Douglas dispone también de maquillaje de su propia marca, con por ejemplo paletas de sombras redondas similares a las de Nyx. Hablando de Nyx, en algunas ciudades alemanas están empezando a comercializarla aunque más caras de lo que podemos encontrar por Internet (Ebay).

Como productos low-cost en algunas ciudades se puede encontrar la firma italo-turca Flormar, en la que podemos encontrar esmaltes de uñas, sombras y coloretes de buena calidad y bajo precio.
En el Douglas del P.P.Arkaden había un stand de esmaltes de Catrice, donde compré mi ansiado Clay-ton my Hero. Debería haber estado rebajado puesto que era uno de los tonos que retiraban, pero bueno, no me puedo quejar porque ya lo había dado por perdido.

There's also a display of Isadora cosmetics from Sweden, with the popular and much-duped crackling topcoats. Douglas has its own line of cosmetics as well with round eyeshadow palettes similar to the Nyx ones. Speaking of Nyx, the brand is slowly being introduced in some of their stores, though more expensive than if bought online through Ebay, for instance.

On the low-cost spectrum, in some German cities you may find the Italian/Turkish brand Flormar with some interesting products such as nail polishes, eyeshadows and blushes. The Douglas at the PPArkaden had a small Catrice nail polish display next to the checkout, where I got my beloved Clay-ton my Hero. It should have been half-price or something, but I paid full price for it but well, since I had almost given up any hope of finding it I guess I can't complain.

Centrándome ya en las dos tiendas que visitamos, hay otras marcas que quiza os puedan interesar. Recientemente, han empezado a vender esmaltes de la marca OPI, eso sí a 16 € cada uno. También encontramos una marca que yo desconocía, ANNY -aparentemente de EEUU- del mismo tamaño y con un precio que rondaba los 9 € y algunos tonos de lo más interesantes.
En concreto, recuerdo un posible clon del preciosísimo "Paradoxal" de Chanel que habría comprado de no ser porque sólo quedaba el tester. En la tienda de Postdamer Platz ni siquiera estaba. Era el tono 'Must Have'- ¿Verdad que es una preciosidad? **Babas**Babas** (Nota: Definitivamente, necesito iconos)










And now, going back to the Douglas stores we did visit, there are some other brands that may catch your eye. They have recently started selling OPI -at €16 a bottle, ouch!!. Another new brand to Douglas and one I had never heard of was ANNY -apparently from the US- that offer the same amount of nail polish in some very interesting colours at € 9 per bottle. In particular, there was a possible dupe for the gorgeous 'Paradoxal' by Chanel I would have gladly purchased were it not for the fact that the only remaining bottle was the tester -and not even that was left in the Postdamer Platz store. It was the shade 'Must Have'. Isn't she a beauty? **Drooling** (I *need* some icons)
