De compras en Barcelona - Shopping in Barcelona.

Hola de nuevo:

Como siempre en nuestras entradas de viajes, os enseñamos lo que hemos comprado en Barcelona, entrada que sirve de colofón a nuestra serie sobre esta ciudad.

1 - Manteca TBS: Si recordáis, Marian estuvo un poco pachucha uno de los días, por lo que decidimos tomárnoslo con calma y pasar el rato en la zona de tiendas de Sants y dando un paseo. Una de nuestras paradas fue en The Body Shop y aprovechamos que estaban de rebajas.

Aunque había varias mantecas rebajadas, decidí hacerme con ésta, ya que no la había probado aún.



2- Gel antibacteriano de mango de TBS.
Me parece perfecto para llevar en el bolso. Así, podremos limpiarnos las manos aunque no tengamos un lavabo cerca.

3- Crema de manos de leche de almendras y miel de TBS.
Otra que es perfecta para llevar en el bolso.
Podremos hidratar nuestras manos en todo momento.



4- Aceite sólido para labios de TBS.
Un básico para el invierno, sobre todo, cuando nuestros labios se deshidratan por el frío.

5- Crema de manos de aceite de argán. Marox quería cremas de manos que fueran bastante hidratantes, con idea de darle alguna a nuestro padre. Claro está, no se acuerda nunca de que le hemos regalado cremas de manos y usa lo que pilla.




Lo cierto es que aún no hemos probado ninguno de estos productos.

6- Pijamas de verano, de Primark.
Sí, ya sé que se hace raro enseñaros ahora unos pijamas de verano. Con el frío que hace...
Es lo que pasa cuando tardas demasiado en escribir las entradas.



7- Luces led decorativas, de Primark.
Con estas luces hemos adornado la sala de estar estas navidades.
Funcionan con pilas.



De Primark nos encantó la sección de decoración (de donde salieron las luces led).
Tenían una cantidad de cosas... Cojines, edredones..., con unos estampados y colores preciosos.
Entraba todo por los ojos.

En nuestra visita a Barcelona, también picamos en la tienda japonesa Muji, que estaba dentro de un centro comercial.

8- Bolígrafo de 6 colores, de Muji.
No os imagináis las ganas que tenía Marox de uno de éstos. Así que cuando lo vio, no pudo resistir la tentación de meterlo a la cesta.

9- Cinta métrica, de Muji.
Esta sí que fue amor a primera vista. Directa a la cesta. Era la única que les quedaba en la tienda. Mide 2 metros. Cabe perfectamente en el bolso.
No os imagináis la de cosas que llevamos en el bolso. Así pesa.



De Muji nos llamó mucho la atención unos muebles en madera maciza, de estilo nórdico, muy minimalista.
A mi padre, le compramos un juego de minidestornilladores que le han venido muy bien. Los venden *aquí*.

El día que vimos La Pedrera, la Casa Batlló..., compramos este colgante y este prendedor de diseño modernista.
El colgante se lo regalamos a mi madre, y el prendedor me lo he quedado yo.



Marox compró esta alfombrilla para el ratón de diseño modernista para nuestro padre, a quien nunca sabemos muy bien qué regalar.

En otro de los ratos que aprovechamos para hacer compras, entramos en Lush, y compramos la crema Charity Pot. Es muy hidratante, se puede usar en cualquier zona propensa a la sequedad pero no como crema facial.
Con la compra nos dieron 2 muestras de acondicionador American Cream.

En un puesto de un centro comercial (no recuerdo cuál), vendían una especie de mini velas aromáticas que no habíamos visto nunca.
Nos dio curiosidad y compramos estas que veis. Había 7 diferentes.
Se quita el tapón, se saca la mecha y se enciende durante 20 segundos. Se apaga y se coloca sobre una superficie de manera que la vela se mantenga en vertical.
Y a disfrutar del aroma.

Y cómo no, algunos souvenirs.

Estos pendientes, que a Marox le encantaron.
La verdad es que son chulísimos. Los compró muy baratitos en unos puestos del Parque Güell.



Y nuestros consabidos imanes de nevera, incluyendo un par de ellos que a la vez son abrebotellas.

Bueno, con esta entrada de compras finalizamos nuestra serie sobre Barcelona.

As we always do, we dedicate a special post to show you our purchases in Barcelona, the final post in our latest travel series.

1 - TBS Body Butter: You may remember that Marian was a bit under the weather one day and that we decided to take it easy. We spent the afternoon at the shops in Sants station and taking a walk around the area.
One of our stops was at The Body Shop, especially since they had sales. There was a selection of marked down body butter, but I got this as I had never tried it before.

2 -  Mango antibacterial gel from TBS.
These are very handy, the perfect size for anyone's purse. That way you can have clean hands regardless of whether there's a washbasin nearby or not.



3 -  Almond Milk & Honey Handcream from  TBS.
Another travel-sized item that is a handbag essential. No excuses not to keep your hands moisturized.

4 -  Solid Oil Lip Balsam from TBS.
A winter must-have, as that's when the cold weather makes your lips be at their driest.



5 -Wild Argan Oil Handcream: Marox wanted a really moisturizing one to give our dad, but he rarely remembers we have given him any and just uses whatever is avalable.

The truth is we haven't tried any of these yet.

6 - Summer pyjamas, from Primark.
Yeah, I'm well aware that it's really odd to show summer pyjamas with this freezing weather.
This is what happens when you take too long to write your posts.



7- Battery-operated LED lights from Primark.
We used this garland to spruce up the décor in our dining room this Christmas.

We simply fell in love with Penney's home decor section -where we got the LED string from. It was homeware galore... They had anything from cushions, duvet covers, you name it. The patterns and colours were beyond gorgeous.
It was a feast for the eyes.







While in Barcelona, we could also peek into a Muji store. The Japanese retailer we visited was located inside a shopping mall.
And yes, we did buy a few things there too.

8- 6-colour ballpen, from Muji.
You can't imagine how much Marox loves these ballpens. So when she saw it, she couldn't help putting it into the basket.



9- Measuring tape, from Muji.
This was love at first sight.
It was the only one left at the store, so it went directly to the basket. The tape is two meters long. It is the perfect size to carry in your purse.
You can't imagine how full our purses are. That's why they're so heavy.

What we liked the most from Muji were their wooden furniture, nordic style.

We also bought a mini screwdriver set for our father. He found it very useful. You can find it *here*.

The day we visited La Pedrera and Casa Batlló, we bought this pendant and this hair barrette.
The pendant is a gift for our mother, and the barrette was a gift to myself.




Marox bought this modernista style mouse pad for our dad, the person we struggle the most when it comes to gifting.



One of the days we went shopping, we got into Lush, and bought their 'Charity Pot' all-purpose cream -not to be used as a face cream, though.
We were given two samples of 'American Cream' hair conditioner.



In a shopping mall I can't remember now, we found this kind of mini scented candles which we'd never seen.
We were very intrigued by them and bought these ones. There were 7 different ones.



You have to take the lid out, pull the wick out and light the candle for 20 seconds.
Then put out the candle, and place it vertically.
Now enjoy the scent.

And last, some souvenirs.
Marox bought these beautiful earrings. It was a cheap trinket that she found at an impromptu stall inside the Park Güell.
And, as usual, some magnets including a couple that are also bottle openers.

De compras por Liverpool / Liverpool Shopping Guide (I).

En esta entrada os enseñamos las cositas que nos compramos en Liverpool, relacionadas con el maquillaje o no.

Lo primero que compramos fue una tarjeta SIM de prepago, para mantenernos comunicadas con la familia sin tener que pagar las estratosféricas tarifas de roaming. Antes de nuestro viaje Marox estuvo viendo las distintas opciones, hasta que finalmente nos decidimos por la compañía Three UK. Había una tienda de esta compañía en el centro comercial Liverpool One, que estaba cerca del hotel, así que genial.

La recarga mínima de la tarjeta nos costó 10 libras y la tarifa a la que estaba vinculada incluía las llamadas dentro del Reino Unido a 3 peniques -no cobran establecimiento- , los mensajes a 2 peniques y 1 penique cada mega de datos. El nombre del plan era '321', fácil de recordar, jeje.
No obstante, con cada recarga, ThreeUK regala 150 MB, que fueron más que suficientes para el tiempo que estuvimos de viaje. Las llamadas a España salían a 3 peniques a fijos y a 10 peniques a móviles y para que te las cobraran a esos precios había que marcar unos códigos específicos, el 467 para llamar a un móvil y el 468 para llamar a un fijo *ver tarifas*.
El saldo restante, lo hemos gastado ya en España.

Bueno, pasamos a las compras 'propiamente dichas'. Lo cierto es que no hemos tenido demasiado tiempo para ir de tiendas, pero aún así nos vinimos con alguna cosilla más en la maleta.
Normalmente, solemos dedicar el último día a ir de compras, pero en esta ocasión sólo pudimos arañar dos horitas el último día, por lo que tuvimos que priorizar e ir "a hecho".
Eso sí: fueron 2 horitas muy bien aprovechadas.
Tanto, que os vamos a enseñar las compras en dos entradas diferentes, para no hacer una demasiado larga.

A continuación vais a ver nuestras compras en Primark: ropa y accesorios.

1- Gargantilla Opia, en plateado y tonos pastel.
Un regalo para nuestra madre, que le irá perfecto para combinarlo con alguna prenda que ha comprado recientemente en tonos pastel.
Precio: 5 libras.



2- Pantalón de pijama, con dibujos de labios (Marox). Perfecto para reemplazar otro que se ha quedado viejito y roto. Precio: 5 libras.

3- Neceser (Marian). En color rojo, con dibujos de las típicas cabinas de teléfonos. Hasta el carro de la cremallera es una cabina. Era tan mono que Marian no pudo dejarlo ahí, y tenía que llevárselo. Su precio, 3 libras.



4- Blusa en tono melocotón claro (Marox).
Se ven en las tiendas de ropa tantas prendas en este color que era imposible resistirse.
Precio: 10 libras.

Esta ha sido la primera entrada de nuestras compras en Liverpool, dedicada sobre todo, a ropa y complementos.

In this post we'll be showing you what we bought in Liverpool, both makeup-related and unrelated.

Our first purchase was a Pay As You Go SIM card, so we could keep in touch with our family without worrying about exorbitant roaming rates. Before travelling, marox surfed the net cramming the different providers, until deciding Three UK was the most convenient one for us. They had a store in the Liverpool One shopping area that was a reasonable distance from our hotel, which was perfect.

The minimum top-up for SIM cards is £10 and the price plan it came with, called '321' (easy to remember, isn't it? included UK calls for 3p, texts for 2p and 1p per MB, with no connection charge for phonecalls.
However, ThreeUK gives customers 150 MB with each top-up, which were more than enough for us to use throughout our stay. The calls to Spain cost 3p -landlines- and 10p to mobiles, though these prices *see price plans* were only applicable when dialling the short codes provided by Three to that effect. 467 and 468 were the codes to use for mobile and landline numbers respectively. We used the remaining credit back in Spain.

Well, let's move on to the haul itself. The truth is we didn't really have much time to go shopping, though we managed to get some stuff to add to our luggage anyway.
When we travel, we usually save the last day to go shopping, but this time we could only manage a couple of hours before the shops closed the last day, so we had to prioritize and have a sure aim.
Needless to say, we made the most of those two hours. So much, that we'll be splitting our haul into two different posts rather than have an overlong one.

OK, time to see our clothes & accessories haul from Primark.

1- Necklace by OPIA, in silver and pastel shades. A nice gift for our mum, especially since she's bought a few clothes recently in these tones. Price: £5.

2 - Pyjama bottoms, in a cute lips pattern (marox). A great replacement for another pair that was way too worn out to use. Price: £5.



3 - Cosmetics bag (Marian): In red and with the traditional phone booth motif embossed. The zipper itself is in the shape of a phone box. It was cute beyond words and Marian simply couldn't leave it there and snatched it up. Price: £3.

4 - Peach-coloured blouse (marox): This shade seems to be all the rage now and is everywhere in stores, so it was hard to resist. Price: £10.

Compras de ropa acumuladas / Collective Clothes Haul

¡Hola! Hoy vengo con un post rapidito para enseñaros la ropa que me he comprado últimamente.

Hi! Today I have a quick post to share with you the clothes I've bought lately. 

1- Lo más antiguo, éstos pantalones vaqueros en tono lila de ECI de Oportunidades. Aunque no había gran cosa ese día, como dice Marian, siempre me las apaño para encontrar algo que merezca la pena. No recuerdo el precio exacto que pagué, pero no más de 10-12 euros (el precio original era el triple).

2 - Compras de ropa en Penneys (=Primark) en Dublín: Pues eso, que durante el viaje, me porté bien no comprando mucho maquillaje y esmaltes, pero sí que no me pude resistir a los precios del Penneys. Aunque había oído que los tejidos no eran de mucha calidad, me ha sorprendido para bien lo majas que eran sobre todo las camisetas elásticas básicas, por sólo 4 euros. En cuanto a los pantalones de pijama -7€ cada uno- sólo he probado los marrones y están bastante bien. Aún no he probado el jersey de cuello vuelto, que costó 8€. Las zapatillas/calcetines me recordaron a unas que tiene Marian muy apañadas y por 3€ se vinieron conmigo -los tenéis en dos tamaños distintos, los míos son la grande pero me habrían servido los de la pequeña. La camisa larga de cuadros costó 13€ y queda muy bien. Marian tiene varias de ese estilo y siempre le ando gorroneando alguna, así que ya era hora de que me cogiera una para mí.

Eso ha sido todo. A ver si nos ponemos y sacamos un rato para enseñaros las demás compras que hicimos en Dublín.

1 - This is the oldest item, a pair of jeans in a lilac shade from the local ECI Outlet, the Spanish equivalent of TK Maxx. Even though there wasn't much stuff worth buying that day, as Marian says, I usually succeed in getting something nice everytime I go in there. I don't recall the exact price I paid, but definitely no more than 10-12 EUR (the original price was about three times that amount).

2 - Penneys (=Primark) Dublin Haul: Ok, during our latest holiday I didn't overindulge in makeup or polishes too much, but I honestly couldn't resist Penneys dirt-cheap prices. I'd heard the quality left much to be desired, but I've been very pleasantly surprised by for instance, how nice these stretch long-sleeved Tee's are, at only 4 EUR. I have only tried the brown pyjama bottoms (they were €7 each) and they're quite nice. Haven't tried the turtleneck sweater just yet, which was only €8. I loved the slippers/socks, similar to a pair of Marian's and at just €3 they had to be mine. They have them in two different sizes, mine being the largest, though I could have got the smaller one. The same goes for the long checked shirt, - 13 EUR- I'm forever sponging one of hers, so it was time I got at least one for myself.

Well, that was all for now. Let's see if we can find the time to write and show you what else we bought in Dublin.
