De compras por Londres (II) - London haul (shopping guide) (II).

Hola, chicas:

En esta segunda parte os vamos a enseñar las compras que hicimos el día 6 de nuestra estancia. Dedicamos todo el día a ir de tiendas, así que preparaos.

Fuimos al *centro comercial Westfield*.
Llegamos en metro hasta la estación Shepherd's Bush. Otra opción es parar en Shepherd's Bush Market.
Este centro comercial abre de 10 a 22.
Nada más entrar, te da un poco de corte verte entre tanta tienda "finolis" con pinta de turista. Las primeras tiendas que vimos desde donde accedimos eran Jimmy Choo, Versace, una tienda de relojes Omega, Gucci, Louis Vuitton..., así que os hacéis una idea.

Fuimos a Marks&Spencer, y compramos dos vasos de bambú en la planta de decoración. Los dos tienen el mismo diseño, que además era el que más nos gustaba, y además estaban rebajados. El otro modelo era más soso en blanco y negro.




Conocíamos estas tazas de antes: en Estocolmo compramos una para mi padre en Indiska... que mi madre tiene de adorno en casa, porque le da pena que la use...
Nos encanta tomar infusiones, así que nos viene fenomenal.
La única pega es que no se puede meter el vaso en el microondas, aunque podéis echar un líquido caliente. Sí que se puede lavar en el lavavajillas.
El protector de goma viene genial para poder agarrar el vaso sin quemarse. La tapa tiene un pequeño agujero para poder meter una pajita, aunque también se puede beber por ahí directamente.
Marox lo está usando mucho para su infusión de después de comer.

Otra parada obligada en este centro comercial fue The Body Shop, que estaba de rebajas. Esto fue lo que compramos.

-Crema de manos de moringa.
Allá donde leamos la palabra "moringa" se nos van los ojos, y en este caso, también las manos y la cartera, jeje. Nos encanta cómo huele.
Costó 4 libras.

-Jabón de argán. Tardaremos en usarlos, puesto que tenemos otros por gastar
Trae 100 gr. y costó 2 libras.




-Jabón de satsuma.
Trae 100 gr. y costó 2 libras.

-Manteca corporal de manzana glaseada.
Trae 200 ml. y costó 7 libras. Marox se dio un capricho con ella. Aún así se quedó con ganas de la de ciruela escarchada, que no tenían.
La de manzana es de la edición limitada de navidades del 2014 y la de ciruela del 2015.




En total, pagamos 13 libras, porque había una oferta 3x2 en la que entraron los dos jabones y la crema de manos. Así que uno de los jabones nos salió gratis.

Por supuesto, en un centro comercial tan grande, cotilleamos en muchas tiendas como Inglot, pero sólo compramos en estas dos.

Comimos en el centro comercial también, en un restaurante de comida rápida saludable de la cadena *EAT*. Una crema caliente de pimientos asados de primero y uno de sus Hot Pots con arroz con tiras de pollo.




Por la tarde, Marox tenía muchas ganas de ir a *TK Maxx*, así que fuimos en metro hasta la estación High Street Kensington. En Londres hay 5 tiendas TK Maxx, pero fuimos a la que mejor nos cuadraba.
Tenían una sección maravillosa con ropa de diseñador, con vestidos que entraban por los ojos. Pero también hay batiburrillo, con una sección de perfumería algo descuidada. Es una tienda tipo ECI de Oportunidades, donde a veces se encuentran gangas entre el batiburrillo.
Esto fue lo que compramos.

-Camiseta sin mangas con estampado animal (Marian).
Es la talla XS, pero esta marca debe de tallar super grande, porque mi talla de camiseta es la M, y me queda perfecta. De 19,99 libras estaba rebajada a 15, pero su precio original en dólares era de... ¡145!

-Camiseta blanca con encaje de algodón (Marox).
De 12,99 libras estaba rebajada a 9.
No sabemos cuál era su precio original, pero en esta tienda todos los productos son de muy buena calidad.




-Fular de seda.
Este lo compramos para nuestra madre, porque le encantan los fulares, y si son de seda, mejor.
Nos costó 12,99 libras. Como ella no lee el blog, no pasa nada. Lo podemos enseñar aquí.

-Cartera en piel.
A Marox se le acababa de romper la suya, que había comprado no hace mucho, así que cuando vio ésta, no lo pensó dos veces.
Le gustó porque tiene muchos huecos para las tarjetas. Su precio, 16,99 libras.
De momento, está dando muy buen resultado. 




-Auriculares JVC. Otros que están saliendo muy buenos. Cruzaremos los dedos. Los usa con el iPad.
Costaron 5,99 libras.

Bien, pues estas han sido nuestras compras en Londres.

Hi ladies,

In this second London Haul we'd like to share with you what we did on Day 6 of our stay. We spent the whole day shopping, so you're warned.

Our first stop was *Westfield Shopping Centre*. We got off at Sheperd's Bush underground station, but you could also stop at Sheperd's Bush Market.
The complex opens everyday from 10am to 10 pm.
Right after walking in we felt a bit away from our comfort zone, surrounded by so many 'posh' stores and looking like the average tourist. The first stores we saw when we got inside were Jimmy Choo, Versace, Omega watches, Gucci, Louis Vuitton... you get the idea.

We went to Marks&Spencer and bought two bamboo tea cups from their home goods aisle. They're exactly the same, but it was the design we liked best and was the one discounted. The other one available was a bit plain looking in just black and white.
We were familiar with bamboo cups, as we bought one for our dad in Stockholm at Indiska. One that our mum is keeping as decor as thought it was too nice to use. Lol.
We really like having tea, so this is a great addition to our cupboards.
The only downside is that these are NOT microwave safe, although you can pour hot liquids into it. And they are dishwasher safe.
The silicone protection is great to hold the cup without burning your hands. The cap has a slit to keep a straw in place, although you can use the slit to drink from it just like that.
Marox is using it a lot for her after-lunch tea.

A must-see store for us at the Westfield was The Body Shop. See below what we got.

-Moringa hand cream: The mere mention of the word 'moringa' draws us like a moth to a flame. It's worth splurging on, as we love the yummy scent.
Price: 4 pounds.




- Argan oil soap bar: It has 100 gr and cost 2 pounds. It will be a while until we get to use them, as have others awaiting their chance to be used.

-Satsuma orange soap bar: 100 gr as well and same price, 2 pounds.




- Glazed Apple Body Butter: Contains 200ml and cost 7 pounds. Marox splurged and got it at the TBS sales. She would have snatched the Frosted Plum if they'd had it, but sadly they didn't.
The Apple one is from the 2014 Holiday Limited Edition and the Plum is from their 2015 release.

We paid a total of 13 pounds, as they had a 3for2 deal with the soaps and hand cream. We got one of the soaps for free.

Needless to say, we sneaked into other shops like Inglot, but these are the only ones where we did a purchase.

We had lunch at the Westfield, at *EAT*, a healthy fast-food restaurant chain. We had a pot of fire-roasted peppers hot soup, our main dish was one of their Hot Pots with pulled pork and rice.

In the afternoon, Marox was really keen on going to *TK Maxx*, so we got on the underground and got off at High Street Kensington. There are 5 TK Maxx stores in London, but we chose that as it had a more convenient location.
They had a selection of designer clothing that was to die for, as well as some customary junk, with a drugstore aisle that was a bit gross-looking. The store resembles ECI Outlet stores, where savvy shoppers find some jewels among the clutter.

This is what we got.

-Animal print sleeveless Tee: (Marian): It's an XS, but the brand must have oversize clothing or something, because my usual T-shirt size is an M and this was a perfect fit. It was had been reduced from 19.99 pounds to just 15, but the original RRP was... US$145!!




- White sleeveless Tee with cotton lace-like insert (Marox).
From 12.99 pounds was discounted to just 9. Don't know the original RRP, but the fabric looked good quality, as the majority of the items on display.

-Silk scarf: This was a present for our mum, who loves scarves and specially silk ones.
We paid 12.99 pounds, no problem saying it here as she doesn't read the blog.




- Leather purse: Marox's one was in its final stages, despite being a recent purchase, so she jumped at the selection of purses until deciding on this.
What she liked most was that it had plenty of slits for cards. Price was 16.99 pounds and so far, so good.

- JVC ear buds headphones: These turned out to be good. We'll keep our fingers crossed. Marox uses them on her Ipad.
They cost 5.99 pounds.

Productos terminados #51 - 'Finito' products #51.

Aquí estamos de nuevo para enseñaros las cositas que hemos terminado últimamente.


1- Fluido protector rápida absorción FPS 50+ de Solcare (Marian).
Lo he usado este verano, bien solo o debajo del maquillaje. Lo compré el año pasado (creo), y aunque todavía quedaba producto, la fórmula ya no estaba en condiciones óptimas, así que lo he tirado.



2- BB mousse de Flormar (Marian).
La compré hace algo más de un año, y la he estado usando a diario, como maquillaje.
Al principio me quedaba bien de color, pero con el tiempo se me quedó oscura, y con un tono algo anaranjado (¿oxidación?).
No obstante, he esperado a que se me terminara. Para que el color no quedara tan oscuro, he estado usando la prebase de maquillaje de Art Deco, que es blanquecina.
No repetiré con ella.

3- Sleeping pack Honey de Holika Holika (Marox).
Me he propuesto intentar usar las muchas muestras que regalan con revistas, o pedidos de cosmética asiática. Sería una pena tenerlas que tirar sin tan siquiera haberlas usado.
Me gustó este sleeping pack, no me resultó excesivamente grasiento ni pegajoso. Sin embargo, le tengo echado el ojo a otro para cuando acabe el que estoy usando.
En cualquier caso, ya sabéis que una muestrita no siempre es suficiente para hacer que nos decidamos por un producto. Mi madre siempre dice que la calidad de las muestras es mucho mejor que el producto que luego compras. En mi caso, alguna vez se ha cumplido. 



4- Serum pestañas Etude House (Marox). La pinta que tiene creo que indica porqué lo he jubilado. No soy nada constante con estos productos: los uso una temporada y luego me olvido de ellos.

5- Desodorante Tom's (Marian).
Lo he terminado durante nuestra estancia en Londres. De hecho, la foto está hecha en la habitación del hotel.
Me ha gustado mucho, porque protege adecuadamente.
Otros desodorantes sin sales de aluminio se me quedan un poco cortos y "me abandonan", sobre todo ciertos días al mes.
No me importaría repetir con él.



Bien, pues esto ha sido todo de momento.

Here we are again, ready to share with you our thoughts on the products we've used up lately.

1 - Quick-absorbing face sunscreen 50+ SPF, Solcare (Mercadona supermarkets - Marian):
 I used it this summer, either on its own or underneath my makeup. I bought it the year before -or so I believe- and although there was still some left, the texture had changed and wasn't safe to use.

2 - Flormar BB Mousse (Marian): I purchased this a little over a year ago and I'd been using it daily as my everyday makeup. At first, the colour looked right but over time, it turned dark with an orange tint to it (oxidizing?).
Anyway, I used it up all the same. In order to tone the color down a bit, I used Art Deco's primer, which is completely white. I wouldn't repurchase.



3 - Holika Holika Honey Sleeping pack (Marox)
I'm on a secret mission to try and use the many samples that come either in magazines or with Korean skincare orders. It would be a pity to throw them away unused, wouldn't it?
I liked this sleeping pack, as it didn't seem too oily or sticky. But I have another one on my wishlist, once I've finished the one I'm using at the moment.
Anyway, you know it's hard to decide whether you like a product enough to make a purchase with a single sachet. My mum is of the opinion that the quality of samples is far better than the product you get when you buy a full-sized version. And in my experience, it turned out to be true a couple of times.

4- Eyelashes serum from Etude House (Marox). A quick look at the photo will be enough to discover why I'm throwing this away. I'm afraid I'm not consistent using certain products: use them a lot at first and then forget about them.




5- Deodorant from Tom's (Marian).
I used it up during our stay in London.
In fact, the pic was taken in our hotel room.
I like it very much, as it provides suitable protection.
Other deodorants without aluminium chlorhydrate 'leave me in the lurch', specially during those days of the month, you see.
I wouldn't mind repurchasing it.

"Abuelita Ceiba: Alquimia para la vida" - 'Abuelita Ceiba: Alchemy for Life'.

Hoy os traigo una entrada diferente, pero bastante acorde con una de las temáticas de este blog.

Hace unos días he tenido ocasión de acudir a una charla muy interesante sobre el proyecto llevado a cabo por "Abuelita Ceiba", que recoge la sabiduría rural, en un intento de ofrecernos alternativas a la salud e higiene diaria, libres de tóxicos.

Elaboran sus productos dando prioridad a las materias primas locales, y respetando el medio ambiente, el bienestar animal y a las personas.

Pero no sólo se ocupan de la salud del cuerpo, sino también de la salud emocional, trabajando con otras formas de sanación como Reiki, reflexoterapia podal y facial, y técnicas de liberación emocional.

Fue una charla muy amena, donde además de conocer su forma de trabajar, y los numerosos tóxicos que nos aplicamos a diario sin saber sus peligrosos efectos, los asistentes pudimos compartir conocimientos y experiencias.
Por ejemplo, no sabía que el bicarbonato se podía usar como suavizante para la ropa.

También se nos desmontó algún que otro mito sobre marcas de cosmética.
Obviamente, no nos dijeron: "no compréis productos de esta o aquella marca".
Simplemente, nos dieron la información necesaria para poder decidir.

Al finalizar la charla, no me fui de vacío.
Nos dieron como regalo un trocito de jabón "de toda la vida". Además, compré una crema facial.

Today I have a post with a different theme, one that features every now and then in our blog.

A few days ago I had the occasion to attend a seminar on a project carried out by 'Abuelita Ceiba (Granny Ceiba)', that drinks from collective wisdom in an attempt to offer toxic-free alternatives for healthcare and beauty needs.

Their products turn to local sources first and are environmentally friendly as well as cruelty-free.




They are not only concerned with achieving a healthy body but also a healthy mind. Thus, they turn to alternative health therapies such as Reiki, reflexology and techniques for stress relief.

The talk was very enjoyable, as besides telling us about their way of working and the different harmful ingredients we use on our body unaware of the effects, there was ground for sharing our knowledge and experiences.
I, for one, did not know that bicarbonate could be used as a fabric softener.

A few myths on some cosmetics brands were debunked. Needless to say, we weren't told 'don't buy products from this or that company'. We were just given the tools to make an informed choice.

I didn't leave the talk empty-handed. We were given a complimentary bar of home-made soap and I bought a face cream as well.

UDLS/NOTW: Maxfactor Glossfinity #175.

Aquí os traigo mi última manicura.
Espero animarme a hacerme manicuras más a menudo, que últimamente he estado un poco vaga.

En esta ocasión, he utilizado este esmalte de Maxfactor Glossfinity, que compré en nuestra reciente visita a Londres, y que os enseñé *aquí*.
Es un esmalte en un tono verde bosque, sin ningún tipo de efecto. Me parece un tono muy apropiado para el otoño.

Para esta manicura, he utilizado como base la de P2, y como top coat, el de Poshé.

Se supone que este esmalte tiene un acabado brillante de por sí, que además, promete durar hasta 7 días. Entonces, ¿por qué usar top coat? Pues os voy a ser sincera: tenía prisa. No obstante, tengo intención de probar cómo es el acabado de este esmalte sin utilizar top coat. Quizá, incluso, haga una comparativa.

Las fotos están hechas justo antes de retirármelo.
En la mano izquierda, el esmalte ha aguantado perfectamente 4 días. En la derecha, empezaba a desconcharse.

Esto ha sido todo por ahora.

Here I am to show you my latest mani.
I hope to upload manis more often. I know I've been a bit lazy lately.

This time I used this polish from Maxfactor Glossfinity, which I bought in our recent trip to London. I showed it to you *here*.
It's a polish in a forest green shade, without any effect. I think it's a very appropriate shade for fall.

For this mani I used P2 base coat and the top coat from Poshé.

It's supposed that this polish has a shiny effect itself, and it's also supposed to last up to 7 days, so, why using a top coat?
Well, I'm going to be honest: I was in a hurry.
However, I intend to try this polish again, but without a top coat, to see its glossy finishing. And maybe I'll be doing a comparison.





The pics are taken just before removing the polish.
On the left hand, the mani has lasted in perfect conditions for 4 days. On the right hand, some small chippings were appearing.

Productos terminados #50 - 'Finito' products #50.

Aquí estamos de nuevo para enseñaros los productos que hemos terminado últimamente.


1- Spray corporal "Sheer Love" de Victoria's Secret (Marian).
Ya sabéis que me encantan este tipo de productos. Este me ha gustado mucho porque su olor perdura en la piel. Ahora mismo estoy usando uno de The Body Shop, pero seguramente repetiré con la marca, porque me encantan.



2- Exfoliante corporal de Giovanni (Marox). Podéis encontrar esta marca tanto en iHerb como en Vitacost.
Reconozco que me gustan más los exfoliantes en formato tarro, puesto que se aprovechan mucho más. Éste exfoliante está compuesto de azúcar, así que realiza una exfoliación más suave que los que contienen sal. Contiene ceniza volcánica y bayas de açai, con propiedades antioxidantes.
Es más barato que otros exfoliantes de la marca, aunque el de chocolate tiene bien merecida su fama.

3- Gel de calcio Basic (Marian).
Ha sido un producto habitual en mis manicuras, pero ya resulta difícil de aplicar y extender, así que aunque todavía quedaba producto, llegó el momento de jubilarlo.
Ahora estoy usando una base que tenía por ahí olvidada.



4- Serum antimanchas Sephora (Marian).
Con este producto mis manchas se han atenuado, pero tampoco esperéis milagros.
Como no fue muy caro, repetí con él.

5- Cabezal Dual-Clean Oral B (Marian).
Yo creo que ya hemos probado, si no todas, casi todas las variedades de cabezales Oral B compatibles con nuestros cepillos eléctricos (no todos los cabezales, aun siendo originales, valen para todos los modelos de Oral B).
Este, al tener dos partes, puede resultar un poco difícil de manejar, pero no descarto repetir con él.



Bueno, esto ha sido todo por ahora.

Here we are again to show you the stuff we've used up recently.

1- 'Sheer Love' Body spray from Victoria's Secret (Marian).
You already know that I love this kind of products. I like this one very much because its scent really lasts on the skin. I'm currently using one from The Body Shop, but I'll surely go back to VS body mists in the future, because I love them.

2- Body scrub from Giovanni (Marox). This brand is available from both iHerb and Vitacost. 
I prefer scrubs that come in a tub, as you can use the entire thing up. This body polish is sugar-based, thus providing a less harsh scrub effect than salt-based products. It contains volcanic ash and açai berry, famous for its antioxidant properties.
It's cheaper than other Giovanni scrubs, but doesn't beat their highly acclaimed chocolate one.



3- Calcium gel from Basic (Marian).
It's been a staple item in my manis, but now it's become really difficult to apply, so it was time to say goodbye to this. I'm now using a base coat that I'd forgotten about.

4- Anti dark-spot serum from Sephora (Marian).
Since I began using this product, my dark spots are less noticeable, but don't expect a miracle. As it wasn't that expensive, I got another one.



5- Dual-clean brush head from Oral B (Marian).
I think we've already tried all the Oral B brush heads suitable for our electric toothbrushes (not all the original brush heads fit Oral B brushes).
This one, consisting of two parts, can be a bit difficult to handle, but I'll probably repurchase it.

De compras por Londres / London Haul - shopping guide (I).

En esta entrada os enseñamos las cositas que compramos en Londres.
Como han sido muchas, hemos decidido dividir la entrada en dos partes, para que no se os haga pesado.

Al final del tercer día de nuestra estancia, fuimos a Piccadilly Circus. Después de hacernos fotos (de la cosa y con la cosa), decidimos hacer una parada en Boots, que estaba justo enfrente, y esto fue lo que compramos.


1- Exfoliante facial de St Ives (Marian).
Me gustó tanto cuando probé el que Marox se compró en Liverpool, que ahora que he tenido oportunidad de hacerme con uno, no la he dejado escapar.
Contiene partículas de hueso de albaricoque, y está especialmente indicado para piel grasa, como la mía.
Me costó 4 libras.



2- Gel con ibuprofeno al 5% (Marian).
Para los dolores musculares, como podréis imaginar.
Lo probé durante nuestra estancia, y la verdad es que me fue bastante bien.
Esto es un medicamento, así que seguid las instrucciones, que para eso están.
Me costó 2,69 libras.

3- Tiritas con apósito hidrocoloide (Marox).
Si tenéis alguna herida, o esos zapatos tan estupendos que acabáis de estrenar os han hecho ampollas, esto es lo mejor que hay. Por más que busco en el ticket de compra, no encuentro el precio. De todas formas, las venden también en Boots International.
Cuestan 3,99 libras.



Compramos también algunas cosillas para nuestros padres.

Además, en Boots también venden comida, así que también aprovechamos para comprar nuestra cena "low cost".

Ahora os vamos a enseñar lo que compramos en Poundland. No os podéis imaginar la cantidad de cosas que tienen por 1 libra.
Además, la tienda estaba en la misma calle del hotel, así que era la excusa perfecta para dar por finalizado un agotador día viendo cosas (el día 5 de nuestra estancia).
Una de las cosas que más nos gustó es que todo se veía muy limpio y ordenado, con los productos precintados. Entraba casi todo por los ojos.
Vendían artículos para la cocina, libros de lectura por 1 libra (tentada estuve de traer alguno), productos de limpieza, droguería, alimentación, mascotas... de todo. 
Algunas afortunadas cuentan con tiendas Dealz, filial en España de Poundland. 

4- Esmalte de uñas de Max Factor.
Es de la línea Glossfinity, y promete durar hasta 7 días. Todavía no lo he usado, aunque espero hacerlo pronto. Así podré deciros si cumple lo que promete o no.

5- Esmalte de uñas de Nails Inc.
Es de la línea "Leather Effect" (efecto cuero).
Este se lo ha quedado Marox, y creo que ya lo ha estrenado, aunque no recuerdo si se hizo fotos de la manicura para poder enseñaros.



6- Sombra de ojos de larga duración, de Astor.
Es de la línea "Perfect Stay". En el envase pone 24h, pero mucho me extraña que dure un día entero. Tampoco pienso comprobarlo, jeje. No la he estrenado todavía, así que no os puedo contar si aguanta bien en el párpado, especialmente en los míos con piel grasa.

Además, compramos también unas pasas bañadas en chocolate (de las que dimos buena cuenta después de haber vuelto de nuestro viaje), y una tableta de chocolate relleno de caramelo. ¡Cómo estaban de buenos! La marca era Sweet Heaven, que yo diría que era marca propia, y curiosamente la etiqueta venía en inglés y en español.

También aprovechamos el día de nuestro regreso para hacer compras. En esta ocasión, en una tienda Boots del aeropuerto de Gatwick.

7- Champú de aceite de argán, de la marca Organix, que seguro habréis visto en muchos blogs americanos y en tiendas online como Primor o Vitacost. No son del todo naturales, a pesar del nombre. No lo he probado aún.
Nos costó 2,49 libras. Es una minitalla.



8- Acondicionador de aceite de argán, de la marca Organix.
Nos costó 2,49 libras, el formato minitalla.

9- Crema de manos "Hand Food" de Soap&Glory.
Nos costó 2,50 libras.




Al igual que en Poundland, compramos algún producto más, pensando en futuros sorteos.

We bought a lot of things, so we've decided to divide this haul into two parts, to make it shorter and less boring.

Before we headed back to our hotel on Day 3, we went to Picadilly Circus. After snapping a few pics, both with the Eros fountain on the background and of the fountain itself, we spotted a Boots on the other side of the road and went inside for some shopping.

1 -  St. Ives Face Scrub (Marian). I liked the one Marox bought in Liverpool so much that now that I had the chance to get one for myself, I couldn't let it go by.

It contains nut shell powder and is specially suited for oily skin, so it should be perfect for me.
It cost 4 pounds.

2 - 5% Ibuprofen Gel (Marian) For muscle pain relief, as you probably guessed.
I tried this during our stay and it worked surprisingly well.
Bear in mind that this is medicated, so please read the instructions carefully before you use it. That's what they're for.
It was 2.69 pounds.



3 - Hydrocolloid Plasters (Marox). If you have small cuts or grazes, or those gorgeous shoes you've just worn for the first time hurt your feet, these are the best thing ever. No matter how much I look at the receipt, the price for this is nowhere to be found.
Anyway, these are available from Boots International as well.
These cost 3.99 pounds on their website.

We also bought some stuff for our parents.

Besides, you can also buy food at Boots, so we that's where we grabbed 'low cost' dinner for the day.

Now let's move on to what we bought at Poundland. You can't imagine the amount of things you can get for just one pound.
The store was in the same street as our hotel, so it was a good excuse to finish a tiring day seeing sights (on Day 5 of our stay).
One of the things we liked the most was how neat and clutter-free everything looked. Products were often sealed, making it more appealing to the eye.
You can get anything from cookware, books for just 1 pound -which were really tempting-, cleaning supplies, drugstore items, human and pet food... you name it. 
Some lucky folks here in Spain have Dealz stores, the Spanish branch of Poundland. 

4- Nail polish from Max Factor.
It's from their Glossfinity range, and it claims to last for 7 days. I haven't used it yet, but I hope to do so soon and that way be able to tell you whether it lives up to its promise or not.



5- Nail polish from Nails Inc.
It's from the range 'Leather Effect'.
Marox chose this one, and I think she has already used it, but I don't remember if she took any picture of the mani to show you.

6- Long lasting eye shadow, from Astor.
It's from their 'Perfect Stay' range.
The packaging says '24h', but I don't think it will last for a whole day. Needless to say I won't put that to the test, lol.
I haven't tried it yet, so I can't tell you if it's any good on my oily eyelids.



We also bought a package of milk chocolate raisins (we scarfed them down a few days after we came back), and a bar of milk chocolate filled with caramel. Yummy!!
The brand was Sweet Heaven, which I believe is the store's own brand and the label was written both in English and Spanish. 

We also made the most of the day of our return flight doing some shopping at the Boots store at Gatwick airport.

7- Organix Argan oil shampoo. I bet you're seen this on American blogs and online stores like Vitacost. They're not as natural as their name suggests, though. Haven't tried it yet.
We paid 2.49 pounds for this trial-sized bottle.

8- Organix Argan oil conditioner.
We paid 2.49 pounds, trial size.



9- 'Hand food' hand cream from Soap&glory.
We paid 2.50 pounds.

As we did at Poundland, we bought some more stuff for forthcoming giveaways.

Mis regalos de cumpleaños - My birthday gifts.

Hola, chicas:

Hace poco más de un mes fue mi cumpleaños. Os voy a enseñar lo que me regalaron.

-CD de Sharon Corr (repe).
El primer album en solitario de Sharon Corr, la violinista de The Corrs. Se llama "Dream of You".
Lo que Marox no sabía cuando me lo regaló es que ya lo tenía. No os podéis imaginar la cara que puso cuando se lo dije. Me daba pena y todo. Ella siempre se las ingenia para sorprender con los regalos, y lo hace muy bien. Buscó en mi casa donde sabe que tengo los CDs, y no lo vio. Pero éste lo tenía en otro sitio.
Me dice que lo venda por eBay, que no le va a parecer mal, pero me da cosilla. Lo tengo ahí guardado, junto a "su gemelo".

-DVD "Live in Sao Paulo" de Sharon Corr, de Ebay.
Con éste sí que ha acertado de pleno, porque no lo tenía, y además, han sacado pocas copias de este DVD.
Como os podéis imaginar, ya lo he visto, y la verdad es que me ha gustado mucho.
Además de canciones de sus dos discos en solitario, interpreta temas de The Corrs, que resulta curioso escuchar con Sharon como vocalista.

-Teléfono inalámbrico SPC, modelo TEL317290R. (Amazon)
También me lo ha regalado Marox. Sabía que el otro que tenía empezaba a hacer cosas raras, y que tarde o temprano llegaría el momento de cambiarlo. Así que, otro acierto.



-Reproductor MP3 tipo iPod Shuffle, comprado en Ebay.
Igualito al que Marox se cogió para ella en dorado. No tiene memoria interna, sino una ranura para meter una tarjeta micro SD, que a mí me parece mucho más práctico, porque cuando se estropee el aparato (que esperamos que tarde mucho), no tengo que recuperar todas las canciones.
Los auriculares que trae no me gustan mucho, aparte de por la calidad de sonido, que no es muy buena, porque se me salen y tengo que estar apretándolos continuamente.

-Exfoliante corporal de Giovanni:
Otro regalo de Marox, con el que también ha acertado. Me lo regaló hace tiempo, y sabe que me encantó, así que ha optado por jugar sobre seguro.



-Pijama de verano.
Este ha sido un regalo de mi madre, que sabe que deseché un par de pijamas porque se habían desgastado (o roto) del uso.
He podido estrenarlo antes de que empiece a hacer mal tiempo.

-Botines de Fluchos.
Parece que este año se llevan mucho los botines, y me apetecía tanto tener unos..., que me los he regalado a mí misma.
Tienen una piel muy suave y son comodísimos. Los estoy usando a diario.
Los compré en *esta* zapatería de Zamora. Había una oferta del 50%, así que me costaron 49€. Genial, ¿no os parece?
Lo malo es que eran pares sueltos y mis padres y Marox no se pudieron coger nada porque no había nada rebajado en sus números.
Ventajas de calzar un pie pequeño, jeje.



Bueno, pues estos han sido los regalos que he recibido este año por mi cumple.
Así que, que cumpla muchos más, y que vosotras lo veáis, jeje.

Hi ladies,

My birthday was a bit more than a month ago, so it's time for me to share with you what I got from my loved ones.

-Music CD by Sharon Corr (duplicated!) It's the first solo album by Sharon Corr, violinist from The Corrs, called 'Dream of You'.
What Marox didn't know when she ordered this was that I already had it. You can't imagine the look on her face when I told her it. I felt really sorry for her. She always nails her presents and gets you something you were not expecting. She searched the CD collection at my place and didn't see it. But it turned out I kept this somewhere else.
She insists it's fine to sell it back on Ebay, that she won't feel bad, but I do. I'm keeping it next to its twin.

-'Live in Sao Paulo' DVD from Sharon Corr, from Ebay.
She did hit the jackpot with this one. I don't own this and apparently only a few copies of this were released.
Needless to say I've already watched it and I liked it very much. Besides songs from her two solo albums to date, she performs songs from The Corrs. It feels a bit strange to have her doing the lead vocals on those.



-SPC Cordless Landline phone, model TEL317290R (sold at Amazon): Another present from Marox. She knew that my old one had been acting funny for a while and that one day or another I'd have to chuck it. Another hit from her.

- iPod shuffle Mp3 player dupe, from Ebay: Exactly the same she bought for herself in gold. It doesn't have an inbuilt memory, but a micro SD slot which I think is even more practical. That way, the day it stops working -hopefully it will be a long day from now- I won't have to copy all the songs onto a new one again.



The earphones it came with are no good, not only because of the poor sound they give but because they come loose and I have to keep adjusting them in.

-Body scrub from Giovanni:
Another gift from Marox (she hit the jackpot again). She gave me some time ago, and knew I love it, so she preferred playing safe.

-Summer pyjamas: This was a present from my mum, who knows I said goobye to a few sleepwear items who were too worn out to use. I was able to use them before the cold weather came.



- Fluchos Ankle Boots: 
It seems this year ankle boots are in and I really wanted a pair... so this was a happy-birthday-to-me gift. The leather on these is silky soft and they're really comfy. I'm wearing them on a daily basis. I purchased them at a local shoe shop in our hometown, Zamora. They were having an early autumn sale with items 50% off, so I only paid €49 for these boots. Isn't it great?

The downside was that they only had a small selection of sizes available and neither my parents nor Marox could get any, since there was nothing discounted in their size.
The perks of having small feet, lol.

Well, these were my birthday presents this year.
