UDLS / NOTW: MNY 545

I'm back one more time with another nail polish I bought in Berlin. It's from the brand MNY, the young line of Maybelline. It's the colour 545, which is part of its permanent collection. It was my only purchase from this brand together with a brown eyeshadow I haven't used yet.

I really wanted to try something from this brand, because you can't get it in Spain and this work-appropriate colour caught my eye. It's not a really unique colour, so if you're looking for something similar I don't think you'll have any problems and can get something close from another brand.

In the photos, I think I'm wearing one coat of P2's 'Base & Care Coat', followed by two of this one -and nail line was still visible-, topped with one coat of Seche Vite. Application, durability and so on was fine though nothing out of the ordinary. It has 7 ml and was € 1.95 at DM. Compared to Essence nail polishes, Essence wins though perhaps I could have gone for a bolder and more unique colour.

A couple of days afterwards, when wear was beginning to make an appearance I decided to do some 'stamping homework'. I used the Essence image plate with animal prints and did accent nails on my ring fingers. You can see how that turned out in the pics. I didn't bother with top coat to protect it, since I was going to remove my polish the next day.

¿Habéis probado algo de la marca MNY? ¿Qué top coats usáis para proteger vuestros estampados?

Have you tried anything from the brand MNY? What top coats do you use and recommend to protect your stamping?

  2. i love these paw prints! they look stunning on that gorg base color!

Ive not tried MNY but i really do like that color - its gorg to stamp over or use to stamp with by the looks of it =).

base coats...to be honest - ive used Konads top coat, but found it smudges. Normal high street brands work well..but Seche Vite is the best - but is causes shrinkage =(

i just experiment - atm im using Rimmel London's top coat - i love it - its got a massive brush! - less smudging =) xx

@Sarahlouise: I'll try Seche Vite, then. The only other topcoat I have is an Essence and it tends to soften the polish and drying takes ages with it, so I don't think I'll bother with it when stamping.

  7. Mavala's topcoat, the regular one is pure awesomeness. I'll get the quick dry one very soon. Stampings do not smear at all so...perfect for me.

BTW you are my new idol-a, you achieved to stamp with Essence image plates yay!!!

    xxx

  8. @Emeconeme: Mavala's topcoat. Duly noted. I think I read about it somewhere already.
Stamping with Essence: girl, it was not an easy feat. You can read about that in previous posts. New idol-a, lol! One confession: my sister got there before me, I was her guinea pig!
